I’ve said all along, that this can’t possibly pass…it’s too wildly unpopular with the American people. Yet it’s very close to passing. NRO is saying it’s down to seven Senators who could stop the bill.

That’s the stupidest part. As soon as their legalized, their employers have to pay FICA on their salaries and give them raises to they can afford their half of the FICA taxes. So that’s a 15% bump. They’ll have to be on health plans, get vacation days, etc. – the benefits will give another 10 – 25% increase in employer costs.
Then, after they increase the minimum wage, add universal health coverage, and settle the wage discrimination lawsuits, you’ll be paying more than you would have if you had employed a citizen in the first place.
There’s no bounty here – they’re killing off the cheap labor supply by making it expensive. Not that we should have had the cheap labor in the first place.
