Media Matters Very Much To Hillary Clinton

Clarence Thomas appeared on Rush’s show yesterday in an unprecedented hour and a half plus, interview. He’s been on a speaking tour, promoting his new book, My Grandfather’s Son. If ever there was a decent and honorable man…Justice Thomas is it.

I remember well, the Supreme Court hearings for Justice Thomas back in summer of ‘91. I remember thinking that it was a stroke of genius for President H. W. Bush to nominate a conservative black man. I felt that the left would be less apt to attack a black man out of their knee jerk political correctness, but I was wrong. They were able to trump the president by coming up with a black woman who would be willing to slander his good name.

I remember the other women from the EEOC office, who worked with both Thomas and Hill, testifying with intelligence, and passion on the good judge’s behalf.

And I remember the article that David Brock wrote about the whole affair for The American Spectator. I subscribed to the magazine back in those days. In 1993 he went on to write the book, The Real Anita Hill, a savage attack on Thomas’ accuser, famously calling her “a little bit nutty and a little bit slutty”.

The next year he wrote he wrote another investigative piece for the American Spectator in which he covered Clinton’s philandering in Arkansas, and his misuse of State troopers to help cover his tracks, thus the “troopergate” scandal was born.

Then Brock started work on his biography of Hillary Clinton , The Seduction of Hillary Rodham.

Here is where Brock started his acute turn to the left. He received a million dollar advance for the book, but it ended up being so soft on Hillary that it bombed. It’s all very intriguing.

Cliff Kincaid from World Tribune.Com:

In two Esquire articles, Brock repudiated his Clinton muckraking and apologized to the president. His flip-flop appears to have been related to the close relationship that Brock, a closeted homosexual, established with Hillary’s openly gay press secretary, Neel Lattimore.” The Advocate, a homosexual magazine, had described Lattimore as one of Hillary’s “closest confidants” during her White House years.

This is the same Neel Latimore, according to the September 7, 2006, article by Glenn Thrush of Newsday, who would become “special projects director” for Media Matters.

Thrush also reported that “Kelly Craighead, one of the Clinton’s closest friends, served as one of Brock’s top advisers during Media Matters’ formation in 2004. She was paid as part of a $202,781 contract with the consulting company of her husband, Erick Mullen, tax records obtained by Newsday show.” Craighead had served as assistant to President Clinton and director of the advance team for then-First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton. It is reported that when Craighead married political consultant Erick Mullen, a former aide to Senator Charles Schumer, in 2001, Hillary Clinton performed the civil ceremony. Mullen was an informal senior advisor to Mrs. Clinton’s run for the Senate in 2000.

Media Matters is the group that went after Don Imus for his Nappy Headed Ho comment. Front Page Magazine, Media Matters Hillary’s Lap Dogs:

To truly understand Media Matters’ motives, we must look at the organization’s special relationship with Hillary Clinton, who has deeply despised Don Imus for more than a decade. Hillary’s contempt for the broadcaster dates back to March 21, 1996, when Imus made a number of insulting, disparaging remarks about Mrs. Clinton and her husband, who was then U.S. President, at the Radio and TV Correspondents Association dinner in Washington, DC.

More recently, Imus had been particularly critical of Mrs. Clinton and her presidential candidacy. According to Media Matters, the broadcaster had “repeatedly and unapologetically” referred to the Senator as “Satan,” Bill Clinton’s “fat ugly wife,” a “buck-toothed witch,” “the personification of evil,” and an individual who was “worse than” Osama bin Laden.

I’d say they are being very deliberate and methodic in their quest to rid the airwaves of Hillary’s foes. At the very least, they mean to discredit them.

Frontpage Magazine, again:

Media Matters and Hillary Clinton are further linked by their respective relationships with three of the most influential leftist operatives in the worldGeorge Soros, Morton Halperin, and John Podesta. All three of these men are intimately involved with a vital think tank called the Center for American Progress (CAP)which, according to Cybercast News Service’s research, “was instrumental in getting Brock’s media group off the ground”; which helped launch Media Matters on May 3, 2004; and which maintains a tight bond with Brock’s organization to this day.

Mrs. Clinton told reporter Robert Dreyfuss of The Nation: “We’ve had the challenge of filling a void on our side of the ledger for a long time, while the other side created an infrastructure that has come to dominate political discourse. The Center [for American Progress] is a welcome effort to fill that void.”

According to Dreyfuss, CAP bears the distinct “imprint of the Clintons.” “It’s not completely wrong to see it as a shadow government,” he wrote in February 2004, “a kind of Clinton White-House-in-exileor a White House staff in readiness for President Hillary Clinton.

Mark Levin is right about Media Matters. If it is listed as a Non-partisan, not for profit organization, it is undoubtedly a criminal enterprise.

UPDATE:

Well well well, who knew?

Hillary helped start Media Matters, by her own admission:

In the end, that’s going to be hard to do, for on August 4, while speaking at the YearlyKos convention in Chicago, the junior senator from New York boasted of “institutions that I helped to start and support like Media Matters and Center for American Progress.”

NiceDeb, Good post. Very helpful for this conservative who has preferred to stay somewhat apolitical. Little by little the onion layers are getting peeled away. You are gently opening my eyes — like a lovely woman and mother can.
