Islamofascist Awareness week is now upon us, and it seems that the usual suspects are not amused:
We have just been informed that President Amadinejad, who himself enjoyed no disruption when he spoke at Columbia University has said he “supports” the disruption, by American students and faculty, of the handful of panels and lectures at Columbia University and at the more than one hundred other universities where Islamo-Fascist Awareness Week will take place from October 22nd to October 26th, 2007.
By the way, the term “Islamo-fascism” was coined by Algerian Muslims and ex-Muslims to characterize the Islamic fanatics who slaughtered 150,000 of their Algerian Muslim brethren in the 1990s—and all in the name of Allah.
I am speaking at Columbia on a panel with my esteemed colleagues Ibn Warraq and Christina Hoff-Sommers on the evening of October 24th. David Horowitz, whose Freedom Center has organized the week-long Teach-In, is speaking there at noon on October 26th.
There will be security, cameras, and perhaps even media. These add-ons have become increasingly necessary in order that those who hold minority anti-fascist viewpoints may nevertheless engage in the joys of academic freedom.
We have also just been informed that Saudi money, (what an everlasting surprise), has apparently funded the various pro-Palestinian, anti-American, and anti-Israeli campus groups to launch a defamation and disruption campaign against us. And, the religious Jewish left has also weighed in with an emailed campaign that opposes our telling the truth about how Muslims are blowing other Muslims up, and persecuting women, intellectuals, and homosexuals.
Here’s a video that urges students to “Confront the Horowitz fascists with real facts and the truth”, narrated by Bob Avakian, Chairman of the Revolutionary Communist Party.
Over at FrontLineMag David Horowitz has noticed that that Hillary-Soros team has joined the attack:
Campus Progress, which is the baby farm of the Center for American Progress, an operation created by George Soros and Hillary Clinton and run by Bill Clinton’s former chief of staff John Podesta, has put up a “kit” for attacking Islamo Fascism Awareness Week. In doing so these so-called progressives have joined an array of leftwing organizations that include the Revolutionary Communist Party and the Muslim Brotherhood and its offshoots — the Muslim Students Association, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim American Society (MAS)and the Muslim Public Affairs Council.
I’ve admired David Horowitz for some time. If a man can be judged by the enemies he makes, I’d say Horowitz is one mover and shaker who is doing things right.
More on Islamofascist Awareness Week at: Michelle Malkin:
Horowitz told the WashTimes:
Provoking protest is nothing new to Mr. Horowitz, an ex-Marxist and a leader of the 1960s New Left who has been the target of pie-throwing incidents during his campus appearances as a conservative speaker. He doesn’t mince words when describing his former ideological comrades.
“The left has only one strategy when dealing with its opponents, and that’s to smear them,” Mr. Horowitz, 68, says in a telephone interview. “They learned from Stalin.”
…Mr. Horowitz says conservatives should not tolerate accusations of “hate” from left-wing activists.
“We’re not just going to sit and take it,” he says. “We’re going to fight fire with fire. They are the haters, and we’re going to stick them with that.”

I cannot believe people are still so stupid as to believe in or support communism and/or socialism.
There’s an article over on Libertad Digital about the failure of cooperation between South American Leftists and Irani theocrats. Evidently, the Leftists were unhappy that the theocrats didn’t like the Left’s atheism. (Some Irani Leftists even accused South American Leftists of abandoning Irani Leftists so as to appease the theocrats.)

I have been shocked by how willing the secular left has been to team up with those diametrically opposed to them, other than their shared haterd of America.

For those who can understand Spanish: “Fabricando afinidades con Irán” por José Brechner, categorizado sobre “LA IZQUIERDA Y LOS AYATOLÁS”.
If anyone’s interested, I can translate.

You guys have know idea what is going on in the Bronx and you are talking about Algeria. What about you talk about the 42 thousands of Americans killed every year by guns.http://photo.net/photos/Hakim%20Talbi
The list of Algerians who disappeared in Algeria from 1992 to the last update on January 2007 at Algeria-Watch was redesigned. You have more information about many individuals.
Please note that:
- Most of the people in the list are prisoners who after being
arrested, tortured & killed they disappeared for ever without trace.
- Their families are still looking for the bodies.
- The list is also incomplete because I don’t see many friends one it
like Bencheik Mounib and his brother.
Why they disappeared? The answer is very simple: They disappeared
because the bodies showed signs of death by torture and can’t be
returned to the families.

Here the T list

Please help update the list by contacting Algeria-watch or me.

Hakim, who’s talking about Algeria?
Phyllis Chesler mentions it briefly on her quote about the origin of the word Islamofascism.
But this post isn’t about Algeria.
But I liked the photos on your site.

What she said about Algeria is totally wrong and shows that she didn’t do her home work like Ken Burn. She is talking about something that most Algerian can’t understand until now. She is simply an ignorant about the situation in Algeria when she said…..characterize the Islamic fanatics who slaughtered 150,000 of their Algerian Muslim brethren in the 1990s—and all in the name of Allah…..and if she really need to learn a bit she can just correct herself by visiting http://www.algeria-watch.org/index_en.htm
And when you said: “Phyllis Chesler mentions it on her quote about the origin of the word Islamofascism” for me it’s like she briefly denied the holocaust.

Are you denying that Islamic terrorists killed thousands of people in Algeria in the 1990’s?
Who’s the denier, here?

And also, Algeria is the home, IIRC, of GSPC The Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat), one of the most violent Islamic movements, and that’s saying something.

Damn, I need to learn how to use punctuation.
October, 23, 2007 at 10:41 am
You don’t really need to learn ponctuations because Shakespeare never used them anyway..but you need to learn a new language. It’s good for the other half no-used part of the brain…

Muslims Against Sharia congratulate David Horowitz FREEDOM CENTER and Mike Adams, Tammy Bruce, Phyllis Chesler, Ann Coulter, Nonie Darwish, Greg Davis, Stephen Gale, David Horowitz, Joe Kaufman, Michael Ledeen, Michael Medved, Alan Nathan, Cyrus Nowrasteh, Daphne Patai, Daniel Pipes, Dennis Prager, Luana Saghieh, Rick Santorum, Jonathan Schanzer, Christina Sommers, Robert Spencer, Brian Sussman, Ed Turzanski, Ibn Warraq and other speakers on the success of the Islamofascism Awareness Week.
Islamofascism (or Islamism) is the main threat facing modern civilization and ignorance about this threat is astounding. We hope that this event becomes regular and reaches every campus.
A great many Westerners do not see the clear distinction between Islam and Islamism (Islamofascism). They need to understand that the difference between Islam and Islamism (Islamofascism) is the same as the difference between Christianity and Christian Identity Movement (White Supremacy Movement).
