The American Spectator is reporting that Keith Olbermann will air a correction to his erroneous Rudy Giuliani report from the other day. According to an MSNBC spokeswoman:
“There will be a correction on tonight’s show, and Keith will apologize.”
We’ll see, we’ll see.
The controversy started on Monday when the AP ran a story quoting Guiliani as saying if Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton were elected “we’ll invite (Iranian President Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad to the White House, we’ll invite Osama (bin Laden) to the White House.” Keith Olbermann fumed on his Tuesday show, “A year before the election and Rudy Giuliani is already publicly contending the Democrats are willing to invite Osama bin Laden to the White House to negotiate. Sure they are, buster.” Along with guest Arianna Huffington, he accused Giuliani of being a liar.
Of course, Giuliani said Assad, not Osama. The AP has already corrected its story.
Now it’s Olbermann’s turn.
I imagine he’ll do it in as douchebaggy a manner, as possible, though.
UPDATE:
Hot Air has the video of the apology.

Is douchebaggy a new adjective? Too funny. Hopefully someone will capture the video. I don’t think I can stomach Keith.

All 8 of his viewers will be outraged if he caves to the Neo-con pressure!
Maybe he can bring Huffington on with him to bump his numbers to 12.

bmac – good one! heh.

Should I have said douchebaggish?
November, 2, 2007 at 5:41 pm
Douchebaggish? What the hell.
Are you drunk Nice Deb?
November, 2, 2007 at 6:22 pm
Hot damn, you know, a glass of wine does sound good, right now.
November, 2, 2007 at 7:56 pm
I’m drinkin’ right now. Celebrating my new found care free lifestyle.
Any kind of Olberdouche apology is going to be so wrapped up in smarmy self righteousness as to be as bad as the original sin.
Screw ‘im.

I just saw it. It was hardly an “apology.” It was extremely insincere.
Olbermann then named Giuliani for all three places on his “Worst Person in the World” segment.
Olbermann should be fired for this. MSNBC let this on the air?
November, 2, 2007 at 8:15 pm
I knew he wasn’t capable.
That’s why I ended up using a question mark on the post’s title.
I just couldn’t see it.
November, 2, 2007 at 8:28 pm
Olbermann should be fired for this.
Then who would the goofballs get their “news” from?
Olberman is like a PSA for ridiculousness. Years from now young hiptards can look back and say, “I was so out there that I actually used to watch Olberman.” “What was I thinking?”
November, 2, 2007 at 8:44 pm
Olbermann can actually be kind of funny as long as he medicates his advanced stage BDS which he rarely does.
But 99.4% of the time I want to see Cheney personally waterboard him with Joe Wilson’s hair gel.
Summer’s Eve indeed.

Whacky world we live in.
Syria was one of the first countries to be placed on the State Depts list of state sponsors of terrorism in 1979. It has never come off much to the dismay of Kucinich and Pelosi. Since then, it has been responsible for numerous terror acts throughout the middle east, has been in a perpetual state of war with Israel, is responsible for the assassination of the Lebanese PM, Hariri, is a conduit for arms and terrorists into Iraq where our people are being killed and just recently had an illicit nuclear plant blown up by the always vigilant Israelis. Assad is a murderous thug who is responsible for the deaths of many US citizens for his actions in Iraq alone. If Olbermann had a speck of honesty or decency he would be slamming the dems for pandering to scum like Assad.
Olbermann owes more apologies for being dishonest or stupid. When did we dumb down apologies to the extent where I can say “Opps, I didn’t mean to pee on your sneakers, I thought you had your loafers on” and all is forgiven?
Olbermann is a hemroid on the ass of life.

On the plus side, he only gets about 400,000 viewers a night. In TV world, that is literally a joke. They keep him on the air cause he’s cheaper than an infomercial.

I like ‘olberdouchenozzle’.
