The View has been at it again.
Apparently, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, the one voice of reason is back on the show. I don’t know how she puts up with it. I really don’t.
I get enough of a taste of their foolishness from the clips that end up on Hot Air, and elsewhere. I know that saying outrageous, controversial things is supposed to be good for ratings, but I’ve never been even the least bit tempted to watch these ignorant, yammering yentas. Why does anybody, is what I want to know? I don’t get it. But then, I don’t understand Oprah’s popularity, either. Not that I have a huge problem with Oprah. I guess the fact of the matter is, liberal women bore me.
So, anyway, now I’m hearing that Joy Behar fancies herself to be some kind of authority on Catholic sainthood, and has sagely informed the audience that the reason we have no saints today is because of the availability of psycho-tropic drugs, like thorazine, today.
She suggests the theory is her own, but it seems to me that the psychotic saint meme has been out there for a while.
JOY BEHAR: I’m going to get in trouble for this, but you know what? I have a theory that you can’t find any saints any more because of psycho-tropic medication. I think that the old days the saints were hearing voices and they didn’t have any thorazine to calm them down. [laughter] Now that we have all of this medication available to us, you can’t find a saint any more.
ELISABETH HASSELBECK: I don’t think so, Mother Teresa.
BEHAR: That’s why Mother Teresa had issues. Let’s not forget, she didn’t really believe 100 percent like these saints who were hearing voices. She didn’t hear voices. So the Church said “okay, she does good deeds. Let’s make her a saint.” In the old days it used to be you heard voices. They can’t do that anymore.
There’s more at Gateway Pundit, including the video, if your stomach can handle it.
Behar, a former Catholic, should know better than to be spouting such nonsense.
Father Johnathan Morris was asked to comment for FOXNews.com, and had this to say:
“Suggesting that holiness of life is equivalent to a mental disorder as Ms. Behar did is rather unbalanced to say the least,” Morris said.
“Nobody is beatified or canonized because they hear voices. People are declared saints because they have first of all exemplified a heroic living of Christian virtue.”
Suggested reading for Ms. Behar. Put yourself to some knowledge, woman.

Well, I personally have to give her credit. It takes a special kind of person to recognize their own talents and create a niche for themselves. Who would have guessed being a stupid bitch would pay so well?

I can’t stand that woman or the show. It is hard to just read the Newsbusters stories about the show because it just sends me over the top.
Here is an example of the type of audience The View has.

What’s scary is that there are so many people like that out there.

I find it odd she is described as a comedian.
Odd in the sense that I was under the impression comedians strove to be funny, not annoying.
Then I remembered George Carlin, so apparently I’m wrong on that funny rule.

I’ve found it’s best to ignore the Views existence completely.
As for Hasselbeck, really, what else is she gonna do? If something better was out there, she surely would have taken it by now.

I could be wrong, but I think Hasselback is doing it for a shitload of crazy tracking fiat money.

If they didn’t have Hasselbeck to pick on, they would rip each others eyes out.
For THAT, I would watch The View!
