The Clintons’ Bribery Racket

There’s more today on the latest Clinton scandal hardly anyone’s talking about.

Investors business Daily weighs in with Clinton’s Filthy Lucre:

Ethics: Is it just us, or is there something off about ex-president Bill Clinton using his influence overseas to enrich a pal and then accepting the pal’s big donation to his foundation? This looks like a bribery racket.

Read it all.

We are in such a quandary. On the one hand, Hillary is such a vulnerable candidate. There is no reason why any Republican candidate couldn’t use all her scandals against her.

On the other hand, the alternative is probably McCain who’s no choirboy, himself…and is profoundly unpopular with conservatives…she could still win against him in a dirty, bitter campaign.

One finds oneself rooting for Obama even though he would be harder to beat.

MORE today (Jan 3) at the Washington Times.

STILL MORE TODAY (Feb5):

The Washington Post weighs in with Mr. Clinton And The Tycoon:

Mr. Clinton may not be the only former president who’s engaged in cozy back-scratching with self-interested businessmen and distasteful regimes. But he’s the only former president who’s married to someone who wants to be the next president. The Times story underscores the potential problems this could create. Among others, Mr. Clinton has said he would continue raising money for his foundation if his wife were elected president.

Letters Signed By Osama bin Laden Found

Well, there go those “Osama is dead” theories if this turns out to be true:

US secret service agents operating in the remote border area between Pakistan and Afghanistan claim to have found five letters signed by al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, Saudi daily Al-Watan said on Thursday.

Citing unnamed local security sources, the newspaper said that the letters are allegedly handwritten in Arabic and bear Bin Laden’s apparent signature and seal.

They appear to have been sent last December to some of Bin Laden’s followers in the region.

In one letter addressed to a Taliban leader in Afghanistan’s southern province of Helmand, Bin Laden reportedly offers condolences to the brother of the late Mullah Dadallah, a Taliban leader who was reduced to room temperature last year in a US air strike.

Sweet!

There seems to be corroboration of this letter was sent, as Mansoor Dadullah claimed he had received a letter from Bin Laden in an interview with Al Jazeera.

The letter addressed to Dadullah also urges the Taliban to step up its attacks on NATO troops deployed in the border region between Afghanistan and Pakistan, Al-Watan reported.

Move On. Org Backs Obama

Another huge insult to Hillary.

Even after she stood firm with Move On.Org last September, at great political risk, voting with 24 other Senators not to condemn personal attacks on General Petraeus, the organization votes to endorse Obama:

MoveOn.org, the liberal political action committee that claims over 3 million members, endorsed Barack Obama’s White House bid Friday — the first time the group has made a primary endorsement.

The endorsement came after the group allowed its members to vote over the last two days on either Obama or rival Hillary Clinton. Obama overwhelmingly beat the New York Democrat, 70 percent to 30 percent.

Talk about “Betray us”!

Question: Where was Obama during that September 21 vote to condemn the Move On ad against General Petraeus? Did he march in lock step with with the powerful organization, like Hillary did, or was he conveniently absent from the vote?

Perhaps Gore will follow suit before Super Tuesday to give his candidate (not Hillary) even more mojo.

A Dork Behind Mitt’s Problems With Evangelicals

The first thing you notice about this guy, is the hair…Then he opens his mouth and a steady stream of Morman-bashing ensues.
Meet Bill Keller….(not NYT’s Executive Editor) but the founder of Bill Keller Ministries:

Bill was raised in the United Methodist Church and asked Jesus Christ into his heart at age 12, feeling a call of God into the ministry at a young age. Bill’s life became sidetracked while attending Ohio State when he started a small business that became very successful.

God got Bill’s attention in 1989 when he became involved in insider trading of the stock market, was convicted, lost everything, and spent the next 2 1/2 years in Federal Prison. Shortly after going into prison, Bill rededicated his life to the Lord, received an undergraduate degree in biblical studies from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, and was discipled by two precious charismatic couples.

And here is his website, A Vote For Romney Is A Vote For Satan.

There’s a lot of crazy there, but all you need to do to get a good handle on the guy is watch this interview he did with O’Reilly:

The twisted logic of his position is exposed at the very start of the interview:

When O’Reilly asks him if he would object to a Catholic or Jewish person running for president, Keller answers, “Not at all Bill, that’s not what this is about”.

But that doesn’t really square with his explanation that he’s only interested in the “spiritual welfare” of people. You see, he’s worried that a Mormon as President would lead people to convert in greater numbers to his “cult”….damning their own souls to hell.

But what do Evangelicals believe about Jews? Aren’t they doomed as well, because they don’t accept Jesus Christ as their savior? So really, wouldn’t it be logically consistent for him to object to a Jew, as well? I have no idea what his particular sect believes about Catholics…but I do know there are more than a few Fundamentalists out there who believe we are going to hell for what we believe, too. So a Catholic wouldn’t be acceptable in this case, either.

What madness. This is almost Westboro Baptist Church territory.

Keller then has the audacity to condescendingly explain that he doesn’t tell people who to vote for and who not to vote for….even as his website proclaims that “A vote for Romney is a vote for Satan“.

Call me crazy, but my guess is that most of his “flock” would consider that a fairly strong indication of who they shouldn’t vote for.

Romney never had a chance with jack-holes like this out there.
