NH Man Claims He Was Molested By Bigfoot

57 year old Gene R. Morrill has been ordered to serve 20 years in prison for his own molester-related activities. His defense attorney cited Morrill’s mental health issues in seeking leniency from the judge.

Morrill told an investigator preparing his pre-sentence report about being sexually assaulted by the legendary Bigfoot, a North American folklore character said to be between 7 and 10 feet tall, and covered in dark brown or dark reddish hair. Patton said Morrill really believes the assault happened.

From the look of his mugshot…he’s still haunted by the memory.

Incredibly, he was determined to be mentally competent to stand trial.

Wow! Another one:

A New Zealand man has been sentenced to community service after telling police he was raped by a wombat and the experience had made him speak “Australian”.

Arthur Ross Cradock, 48, from the South Island town of Motueka, called police on February 11 and told them he was being raped at his home by the wombat and he needed help, The Nelson Mail newspaper reported.

These types of stories always come in threes…..oooh, I’m on pins and needles…check back in the near future for the update.

UPDATE (August 13):

2008: Monster Summer

3 monsters (including bigfoot) “discovered”, so far, this summer.

UPDATE (August 20):

Awww nuts. The bigfoot discovery was an elaborate hoax.

Reverend Wright Cancels Speaking Engagements, Plays Victim Card

The good reverend was scheduled to accept an award at a banquet in Dallas on Saturday.

Wright has also canceled plans to speak at three services in a Houston church Sunday. He canceled plans Tuesday to speak at a church in Tampa, Fla.

The Rev. Marcus Cosby, pastor at Houston’s Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church, told Houston television station KTRK and the Houston Chronicle that safety concerns had prompted Wright’s decision.

Cosby told the Chronicle that Wright cited three reasons for canceling: “the safety of the institution to which he has been invited; the safety of his family, which has been placed in harm’s way; and for his own safety.”

Likely story:

The Tampa Tribune reported that the Rev. Earl Mason, pastor of Bible-Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, blamed the cancellation on “hype” and “commotion” surrounding the visit. Mason also said the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office would not provide security for the event, a claim the law enforcement officials denied, the Tribune reported.

I’m not buying the “security concerns” excuse. I think something else may be at play, here. Maybe the publicity from Wright’s “Italians look down their garlic noses” quote was the last straw.
Maybe Obama’s been making some phone calls to his “old uncle” from his restful oasis in St. Thomas.

Who knows? Maybe that’s who he’s on the phone with in this picture:

“Dude! Shut up already!”

By the way….Enough with this nonsense:

“I think we have taken Dr. Wright out of context with sound bites,” (Houston Pastor) Cosby said. “After all these years, I am not going to kick him to the curb over sound bites.”

Please! Obama/Wright apologists need to stop insulting our intelligence with this baloney. In what context is “God damn America”, not offensive?

Wednesday’s Hero(es): Soldiers’ Angels

Soldiers’ Angels Living Legends Team

May No Soldier Go Unloved

Living Legends began in May 2005 with a very small team of seven dedicated angels. The team’s mission was to let the families and friends of fallen heroes know that we were here to support them and to honor their loved one. At the same time, they had to make sure that they were sensitive to what the family was going through. While this team has grown tremendously, they have worked very hard to maintain that same level of dedication and sensitivity. This team is staffed with trained volunteers who carry out a very difficult mission for Soldiers’ Angels. Due to their dedication, Soldiers’ Angels is able to honor those heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation and to pay their respects and offer their deepest sympathies to the families and loved ones grieving the painful loss of their son or daughter; husband or wife; brother or sister; mom or dad; aunt or uncle; their friend.

For more information on the Soldiers’ Angels Living Legends Team, you can visit their site.

Flight 93 Memorial Blogburst #25

Petition for Congressional investigation

Blogburst logo, no accident

A petition to stop the crescent memorial is now being circulated on the ground in western Pennsylvania. As a complement to this old fashioned canvassing effort, an electronic petition has also been created at ipetitions.com. Please circulate far and wide!

The petitions highlight four cases of apparent Islamic symbolism in the memorial design. Here is the text (electronic):

Call for Congressional investigation of Islamic symbolism in the Flight 93 memorialMany features of the chosen Flight 93 Memorial design are intolerable:

1. THE GIANT CRESCENT. The centerpiece of the original “Crescent of Embrace” design was a giant red Islamic shaped crescent. Every particle of this original crescent design remains completely intact in the so-called redesign, which only added a few irrelevant trees. The giant crescent is still there.

2. IT POINTS TO MECCA. The giant crescent points to Mecca. A crescent that Muslims face into to face Mecca is called a “mihrab,” and is the central feature around which every mosque is built. The Flight 93 Memorial is on track to become the world’s largest mosque.

3. THE ISLAMIC SUNDIAL. The minaret-like Tower of Voices is a year-round accurate Islamic prayer-time sundial (one of many typical mosque features that are realized in the crescent design, all on the same epic scale as the half mile wide central crescent).

4. THE 44 BLOCKS. There are 44 glass blocks on the flight path, equaling the number of passengers, crew, AND terrorists.

Intentional or not, these features are entirely unacceptable. This travesty must stop and investigations must begin.

1) We the undersigned call on our state and federal legislators to undertake their own thorough and independent investigations of the Flight 93 Memorial design. The truth must come out.

2) We ask that the crescent design be scraped entirely and that it be replaced with a new design that is not tainted by Islamic or terrorist memorializing symbolism.

3) We demand a fitting and proper memorial that HONORS the brave men and women of Flight 93.

Please take a minute to electronically sign this petition. All signatures collected by the end of April will be printed out and delivered to the May 3rd public meeting of the Memorial Project, along with Xeroxes of the hand-signed petitions.

That is just the start. There will be another public meeting in August, where we hope to present a much larger pile of petitions, and all signatures will eventually be delivered to the Pennsylvania state legislature and to Congress. Keep sending until the crescent design is stopped!

In the short term, we have a number of supporters in the Pennsylvania legislature at this point who are working to gain backing for an investigation. A demonstration of public demand should help that effort.

The paper petition

In order to make the paper petition self-sufficient, there is a second page, to be printed on the back of the petition, that provides explanations and graphical documentation of the four highlighted cases of Islamic symbolism. The idea is to have a petition that can circulate virally. Anyone can print it out and have enough information right on the petition itself to know that the objections are legitimate. (Mailing instructions are also included.)

Here are the back-side explanations of the four intolerable features:

The original Crescent of Embrace design was a giant Islamic shaped crescent with the crash site placed between the crescent tips, in the position of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag:

Crescent and flag22%

The redesign was supposed to eliminate these Islamic symbol shapes, but as Congressman Tom Tancredo wrote to the Park Service in November 2007, these features remain completely intact in the so-called redesign, which only disguised the crescent with a few additional trees. Architect Paul Murdoch’s refusal to eliminate the Islamic symbol shapes suggests intent, but intentional or not, these symbol shapes are unacceptable. Congressman Tancredo is now calling for the crescent design to be scrapped in its entirety, and we join in that request.

Several credible analysts have found that a person facing directly into the giant crescent (still present in the redesign) will be facing almost exactly at Mecca:

The green “qibla” circle in the graphic above is from the prayer-direction calculator at Islam.com. It shows the direction to Mecca from Somerset PA (ten miles from the crash site). The red arrow shows that a person standing between the crescent tips and facing into the center of the crescent will be facing almost exactly at Mecca.

This Mecca orientation claim must be authoritatively investigated and answered. If it is true that the crescent points to Mecca, and hence can serve as an Islamic prayer direction indicator (the central feature around which every mosque is built), then whether this construct was intentional or not, it indelibly taints the design.

Anyone can see the overt similarity between a traditional Islamic sundial (left-hand image) and Tower of Voices part of the Flight 93 Memorial (right-hand image):

When the shadow of the traditional sundial reaches the outer curved vertical in this photo, it will be time for Islamic afternoon prayers. Shadow calculations confirm that, on any day of the year, when the shadow of the 93 foot tall crescent shaped Tower of Voices reaches the inner arc of trees, it will also be time for Islamic afternoon prayers.

Tom Burnett Sr. does not want Tom Junior’s name inscribed on one of the 44 translucent blocks that are to be emplaced along the flight path. Forty-four is the number of passengers, crew, AND terrorists:

The left side of this graphic shows the Memorial Wall, which follows the path of Flight 93 down to the point of impact. At eye level are 43 glass blocks. Forty are inscribed with the names of the 40 heroes. Three are inscribed with the 9/11 date.

Right-hand image: the 44th glass block sits at the end of the Entry Portal Walkway, where the flight path crosses the upper crescent tip. It marks the spot where, in architect Paul Murdoch’s description, the terrorists broke our humanitarian circle, turning it into a giant (Islamic shaped) crescent. This circle-breaking, crescent-creating feat is memorialized by the inscription: “A field of honor forever.”

The Park Service dismisses the suspicious block count on the grounds that the 44th glass block is much larger than the others. Mr. Burnett is not comforted by the magnificence of the 44th block, and neither are we. This design must be stopped, and investigations must be launched!

Other petition formats

The same four intolerable features are described in the annotated “Map of Betrayal” that was the subject of one of last month’s blogbursts. Thus the map makes a perfectly serviceable back side for the petition, providing an alternative petition/flyer combination.

The information on the map is denser than the explanations above, but has its own intrigue, showing how the different terrorist memorializing parts fit together like an elaborate puzzle.

The petition being circulated on the ground now in Pennsylvania is still another variation. It has slightly different wording than the electronic petition, and slightly different explanations of the four points than presented above. All the different formats are interchangeable. They all highlight the same four objectionable features, and they will all be delivered together to state and federal legislators.

Until we get a Congressional investigation, the petition will be an ongoing tool for raising awareness and registering opposition. If you participate in any activist fora or email lists, please forward the text and links along. (The electronic and paper-petition links are collected together on this petition Page at CrescentOfBetrayal.com.)

Patriotism Deemed “Too Political” For MN School

This is just sad. A group of decorated veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are not welcome at Forest Lake Area High School in Minnesota. Their planned visit was abruptly canceled when some parents, and “others” complained, and threatened to stage protests.

“The event was structured to be an academic classroom discussion around military service. We thought we’d provide an opportunity for kids to learn about service in the context of our history classes,” Massey said. “As the day progressed, it became clear that this was becoming a political event … which would be inappropriate in a public setting.

“We decided to cancel,” Massey said. Organizers of the National Heroes Tour then scrambled to relocate the event to the American Legion building in Forest Lake. The visit, which U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Stillwater, had been scheduled to attend, is sponsored by Vets for Freedom, a national organization run by Pete Hegseth, a 1999 graduate of Forest Lake Area High School who served with the 101st Airborne in Iraq in 2005-06.
“I think it’s extremely unfortunate that a school would bow to the political pressure of outside groups and not bring in a veterans organization,” Hegseth said. “Are we saying that patriotism and duty and honor have no place in our public schools?” So far, the tour has visited one school, albeit a private school.
Who are the “others” involved with the planned protest, you ask?
At “Democratic Underground Forums,” there was an announcement of a press conference by various unidentified groups opposing the Vets for Freedom appearance. The announcement exhorted “Veterans for Peace” to oppose the appearance and listed contact info for Massey; school board president Bill Bresin, and the Forest Lake Area Schools district office. The post expressed “outrage” that Vets for Freedom was going to meet with students to “indoctrinate them on the joys of war.”
Michelle Malkin has covered the far left’s war against military recruiters extensively. But this isn’t even about recruitment. It’s simply about encouraging support for our troops.
“We have not endorsed a presidential candidate. We’re not in the business of doing that.” According to the Veterans for Freedom website, the national tour “is about supporting our troops, honoring their commitment and rallying the country to complete the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan.
It was the “rallying the country” part that had some people up in arms:

When asked whether the part about “rallying the country to complete the missions in Iraq and Afghanistan” could indeed be construed as political, Hegseth said that the group agreed not to advocate about the “progress made in Iraq and Afghanistan.”

We can’t have people running around “rallying the country” willy nilly…causing patriotic feelings to flow, and what-not. This is 2008, not 1942. The idea is to be cynical and negative…blow out of proportion every death and setback in the war, even declare defeat. But under no circumstances should we allow the soldiers to tell their own stories, especially to impressionable kids, if it reflects well on the United States and the war effort.

We can’t have that.

Here’s the schedule for the Vets for Freedom National Heroes Tour. They’ll be in Kansas City on March 27, and St. Louis on the 28th. They’ll be visiting various southern states in the last days of March and first week of April, and ending their tour at stops in Washington DC, and NYC.

Uncommon Misconceptions Hi Geoff *Wink!*

Powerline has pictures from the American Legion, where The Vets for Freedom relocated for their event.

With only 12 hours to get the word out, IT WAS STANDING ROOM ONLY.

About two-dozen Forest Lake High School students skipped school to attend, holding signs that said “Support the Vets” and “We love our troops.” The outpouring of support from the community in Forest Lake was incredible, and we hope for an even larger crowd at tonight’s event.

Dan Riehl has discovered a heaping helping of hypocrisy in Forest Lake Area High School principal, Steve Massey. Ugh. Not surprised.

Do stories like this make you want to do something TODAY to help support our troops?

A-Hole Charged With First-Degree Intentional Homicide

James A. Hole (yes that’s his real name), 34, was charged Thursday for killing a Cambridge, Wisconsin real estate agent by beating her with a fireplace poker, choking her with her own scarf, and setting a fire to destroy the evidence. Why wasn’t he charged with first degree murder is what I want to know.

He is accused of killing Ann Nelson, 71, a real estate agent for RE/MAX, in the bedroom of a home near Lake Ripley, about 25 miles east of Madison, after seeing her name on a for-sale sign and calling her on his cell phone to ask to see the property.

According to the criminal complaint filed in Jefferson County Circuit Court, Hole told investigators he became upset when Nelson questioned why he was looking at a home he wouldn’t buy. He said he beat her with a fireplace poker and choked her, then left the home. He said he then returned to destroy evidence — Nelson was still conscious, he said — lit a box of tissues on fire to burn the bed and closed the door.

A-Hole doesn’t even begin to describe this guy.

Pass The Popcorn

This sure is shaping up to be an interesting next couple of months for the Democrats…

Bob Novak on  their dilemma:

The consensus among knowledgeable Democrats is that Obama will win over enough superdelegates to clinch the nomination before the national convention in August, partly because of fear for the consequences if they don’t. But one longtime associate said this of the Clintons in private conversation last week: “They will do anything – anything – to get nominated.” That reminder deepens the Democratic dilemma.

The Politico has a running tab on where the superdelegates stand.

The Wright controversy has hurt Obama in the polls. Victor Davis Hanson asked some random working class Americans in southern California what they thought of Obama’s speech last week:

The answers, without exception, were essentially: “Forget the speech. I would never vote for Obama after listening to Wright.” In some cases, the reaction was not mild disappointment, but unprintable outrage.

The blame, such as it is, for all this goes to the Obama campaign “pros,” who, in their apparent arrogance over Obamania (a phenomenon due to the candidate’s charisma, not their own savvy), simply went to sleep and let the senator and his wife resort to their natural self-indulgence — itself the offspring of the Obamas’ privilege and insularity. Any amateur handler could have scanned that speech and taken out just 8-10 phrases, called for a tougher stance on Wright, a genuine apology, and put the issue behind them.

Meanwhile, The Clintons have their own Jeremiah Wright problem, which may explain why she’s been so tight lipped about this controversy.

The Washington Prowler:

According to former Clinton White House aides, Wright had been identified as a potential “influencer” for the African-American community by the Administration back in 1993.

“Reverend Wright was someone we very much wanted to cultivate and develop,” says one aide familiar with the outreach attempts. “We had him on short lists for various commissions and working groups.

Why am I not surprised?

A few weeks ago, liberal pundits couldn’t contain their glee over conservative discomfort with McCain. But look what’s happening now in the reality based community:

Polls now show words from both camps are causing serious damage. An increasing number of Clinton supporters say they would not vote for Obama in November and vice versa.

According to a new Franklin & Marshall College poll of Pennsylvania voters, only 53 percent of Clinton backers say they’ll vote for Obama should he become the nominee. Nineteen percent say they’ll vote for McCain and 13 percent say they won’t vote, the poll found.

The poll said that 60 percent of Obama backers said they would go for Clinton should she win the nomination, with 20 percent opting for McCain, and 3 percent saying they wouldn’t vote at all.

Have those Obama backers heard Bill Clinton’s latest utterances?:

“I think it would be a great thing if we had an election year where you had two people who loved this country and were devoted to the interest of this country,” he said in Charlotte, N.C. “And people could actually ask themselves who is right on these issues, instead of all this other stuff that always seems to intrude itself on our politics.”The remark comes amid criticism that Mr. Obama did not adequately disassociate himself from comments by his pastor that some see as unpatriotic.

Nyuck nyuck! Two people who love their country??? There are currently three people in the race…who could he possibly be leaving out? And what other stuff? Racial stuff??? Oh my! This is getting good.

I thought this was supposed to be the year of the conservative crack-up. But what we’re witnessing is in fact a liberal trainwreck.

The stupid party may win the White House in spite of itself.

Say Goodbye To The Easter Bunny

Say hello to the “Spring Bunny”.

Yes, yes, of course this had to happen. It’s the logical extension of the war on Christmas. If we can’t have Christmas trees, why should we be able to have an Easter Bunny?

Some other non offensive names being used by malls across America are Baxter the Bunny, Peter Rabbit, and Garden Bunny.

Tom Purcell at FrontPageMagazine says:

Peter Rabbit was the name of choice for a Rhode Island school superintendent who, according to ABCnews.com, decided the Easter Bunny ought not visit his school district.

His decision made the ACLU happy. After all, as one ACLU fellow said, schools shouldn’t be in the business of promoting Easter celebrations.

Which leads to some interesting questions: What is the Easter celebration, anyhow? What is the origin of the Easter Bunny?

Lawrence Cunningham, a University of Notre Dame theology professor, said in the San Francisco Chronicle that the Easter Bunny has little to do with religion.
“The bunny is a fertility symbol with no religious connection to Easter,” he said. “The egg, which was popularized in Greece, Russia, and Eastern Europe in connection with Easter, does not have a religious connection to Easter. By taking away the term ‘Easter,’ these symbols to some extent return to their pre-Christian roots as symbols of spring fertility.”

In other words, somewhere along the line, the furry fellow got twisted up with the resurrection of Jesus. Somewhere along the line, he started wearing a vest and handing out eggs and candy. It took a bit of time — hundreds of years or more — for the Easter tradition I knew as a kid to evolve.

But the fascists at the ACLU have no interest in allowing things to evolve naturally. Through their intimidation, holiday traditions are forced to change dramatically overnight.

And what’s the point? The Spring Bunny is just as apt as the Easter Bunny to give your children an unhealthy sugar buzz that will last for days.

It will always be an Easter Bunny to me and mine, no matter what the forces of political correctness choose to call it.
