The Daily Mail is reporting:
A source at a major Hollywood studio that was recently approached by the 49-year-old star said: “She is still determined to make it in the movies.
“She and her representatives have been touting around a project which is a remake of Casablanca. The reception has been lukewarm to say the least. No one can understand why she wants to redo what many people consider the greatest film of all time.”
And she plans to play the Ingrid Bergman part of Ilsa Lund.
Ingrid Bergman was a beautiful, fresh-faced new comer when she played the part of Ilsa, (which made her a star).
Madonna is what? A 50 year old, and not so fresh faced veteran of many very awful films, already. Combine that with what I’m sure would be her overwhelming temptation to throw in some leftist propaganda and we have the makings of something truly craptacular.
I can’t even imagine how horrible this would be.
A spokeswoman for Madonna refused to comment.

Yikes, after reading this I feel quite nauseaus. In my humble opinion, Madonna is quintessentially the antithesis of Ingrid Bergman, and what an embarrassment (this should be) to Madonna that she just doesn’t have any idea of the ridiculousness of this idea.

Well, she hasn’t made a movie that didn’t tank in oh…………forever?
If someone is stupid enough to finance a film starring “absolute box office poison” let em’ do it. At least some production people will get some work.

This idea gets trotted out every decade or so. I remember in the ’80s she was considering a Casablanca remake with Sean Penn (now THERE’S ya some box office poison). In the ’90s Ben Affleck and Jeniffer Lopez were considering it. Don’t know if this is April fools, an unholy aligning of the planets or what, but really, I wouldn’t worry about it.

I really hate that she wants to remake the greatest movie ever. There is no way EVER that the version she does will EVER equal to the original. NEVER! All she is going to do is put a lot of sex in it and profanity and call it a movie. She needs to put her acting dreams behind her and just sing.
