This video of the teenager being interrogated at GITMO has the lefties all up in arms. Keep in mind the wee naif was captured on a battlefield in Afghanistan after throwing a grenade that killed a US soldier:
I can see why liberals’ hearts are bleeding: “You don’t care about me…” he sobs. His interrogator surprisingly said, “Yes, I do care”.
What I see here is an individual who obviously feels very sorry for himself, but I don’t know that he feels any remorse for his own actions. I also don’t see any evidence of torture, although he has made the standard al Qaeda-coached claim of such. He tells them he lost his eyes, he lost his feet…” which makes absolutely no sense what-so-ever.
I see a civil, and patient interrogator, which is key, because he didn’t know he was being videotaped.
His U.S. military attorney, Lt. Cmdr. William Kuebler, told Canadian Television that the video had been shot over four days through a heating vent in the wall.
At a news conference Tuesday, a Pentagon spokesman said Khadr has not been mistreated.
“Our policy is to treat detainees humanely, and Khadr has been treated humanely,” Navy Cmdr. J.D. Gordon said.
Asked about allegations that Khadr was sleep-deprived to weaken him before the Canadian interrogation, Gordon said: “We don’t respond to every allegation. He was treated humanely.”
Gordon also was asked about defense lawyers’ efforts to get Khadr returned to Canada.
“We believe Khadr should be held accountable for his actions. His trial date has been set for October,” Gordon said. “The charges are grave.”
It’s all very unfortunate, but maybe he should have been spending his teenage years engaged in more wholesome activities?

UPDATE:
Anyone interested in hearing about Sgt. 1st Class Christopher J. Speer, whom Khadr killed? Can the left spare a few tears for him, too?

The end of the video was practically out of Monty Python’s Spanish Inquisition sketch.

Excuse me but they admitted in court documents that they deprived him of sleep for 21 days with thier frequent flyer program. That kind of torture causes insanity, is it any wonder he imagined he didn’t have eyes or feet.
This child didn’t have any useful information, the only reason they did this was to make him admit he threw a grenade. There is no physical evidence that he killed anyone, your just going on the word of a administration that lied about WMD’s in Iraq and is facing war crimes charges for this kind of crap.

Why don’t you wait until the all facts come out during the trial before you insist there’s no evidence?
And please stop lying about the Bush administration lying. That is getting so old.

I’m thinking we need to get as serious about treason charges as the whacky left is about war crime charges.
Well, not really. Not because we couldn’t make an excellent case, but it’s just not the way we roll.

Not to mention that he wasn’t “sleep deprived,” he was “sleep interrupted.” And it didn’t do much:
