Palin currently has pretty messy family issues. She recently gave birth to a son with Downs Syndrome and has a 17 year old daughter who is pregnant. Ironically she has fought sex education in the schools and availability of contraception for minors.
She believes that for 9 months a woman has no right to control what is happening to her own body and is basically nothing more than a baby container. She does not believe in a women’s right to choose to end a pregnancy, even if she has been raped.
She does not believe human pollution has anything to do with global warming (even Bush has had to back down on this one). Is so in bed with big oil she is willing to watch as the polar bear and beluga whales become extinct, rather than slow the possibility of drilling. She would open up one of the last great wilderness on earth to exploitation by oil interests.
She laughed when hearing a fellow Republican woman being called a bitch in public (she and the woman had disagreed on several issues) I guess this does make her on par with McCain who thinks it is alright to call your wife a cunt in public. She has been repeatedly described as stubborn with a vicious streak – even by family and friends. (nick name Sarah Barracuda)

She said that she doesn’t support “explicit sex education programs”. Neither do I. There are ways to educate children about sex without using visual aids that border on pornography.

You know, any time you have “PUMA” in a post, the Obama cult is going to find it and take a big steaming dump in the comments. They’ve made it their jobs to search the internets for apostates (sorta like the Ron Paultards did), especially Hillary supporters who are now supporting McCain-Palin. The PUMAs get the absolute worst, most vile treatment I’ve ever seen.
Remember not so long ago when conservatives were at odds with one another over McCain vs. Romney? There was never, ever the kind of vitriol expressed then that there is from Obamabots toward Hillary-now-McCain supporters. It says a hell of a lot about the candidate himself, that he attracts such nasty, hateful, mentally deranged people. (Not that I’m surprised a bit, of course.) This of course, is why Obama will lose in November. Most (sane) people don’t want to support the candidate of negativity and venom.
And see, that’s the difference btw the PUMAs and the Obamabots – the PUMAs, like McCain, put their country first, even when they don’t agree with him on all things because they know he’s the right person for the job; the Obama cult is purely self-centered, just like teh Obamateur himself.

I was skeptical that a far righty like Palin would have any appeal at all to Hillary’s constituency. I’ve been trawling around the Web today, though, and MAN there’s some serious anger about Obama.
I don’t imagine too much of that will result in votes for McCain, but it could result in a surprising amount of staying home, or writing something in.

From I’ve been able to gather, a lot of the Online Hillary supporters have had *very bad* experiences with the online Obamabots.
And they don’t appreciate that the race card was constantly deployed against their candidate and her surrogates. Those attacks were unfair, but effective.

This whole thing is so bizarre to me. It’s like being in a bad dream and not being able to wake up. Palin was virtually unknown outside of Alaska just ONE week ago. A woman, who in her own words “wondered what it is a Vice President does all day”. A woman who wants to deny women the right to terminate a pregnancy even if conception occurs as a result of rape or incest.
Now, she’s more popular than Obama or McCain. What does that say about the mindset of voters in this country. I’ve heard people express how much they love her, her kids, even her parents…who’ve only been shown on TV once at the RNC and have never uttered a word (as far as an interview goes) So what is it about her that has endeared her to so many people.
The scandalous baggage that accompanies her nomination is as lengthy as the Bering Strait…yet she’s almost revered by many woman and some men that have been interviewed since the announcement by McCain that she would be his running mate.
The “maverick” is looking more and more like a sidekick…merely going along with the powers that be…he says and does whatever he thinks his champions want to hear. Just like calling lobbyists ‘birds of prey’ which is a total contradiction to what his true ties with these unnecessary evils in Washington are.
Come on America…are we so shallow that a pretty face is all it takes to win us over? Gov. Palin hasn’t given not ONE interview outlining her plans for this country as VP since McCain picked her….only pre-written rhetoric aimed at tearing down the Democratic nominee and his party.

Don’t know if you knew this, but the VP doesn’t make plans for the country. It’s the President’s job, with input from the VP. So that pretty much kills off the complaints in your 2nd and 5th paragraphs.
4th Paragraph: I guess you haven’t gotten the memos on Obama’s and Biden’s lobbyist connections. You might want to read up on it before you find out how transparent the Dem ticket’s house really is.
Third Paragraph: Metaphor alert!! Straits are typically characterized as “narrow,” not “long.” It’s an aspect ratio thing. In comparison to its width, the Bering Strait is quite short. But I know you want to keep with the Alaska theme, so why not, “as long as the Alaskan winter night?” Also, you should note that out of all the scandals that the Dems have attempted to saddle on her, the only one that has survived is the original one: Troopergate. And I doubt that one has any legs, either.
Finally, the opus to your comment. I’m sure this will bring you comfort: we’ve known about Palin for much longer than a week. In fact, on this very blog the posts go back to early March.
And that lighthearted comment about the VP position seems to have furrowed many brows on the left. As is well known, the VP is often treated as a superfluous member of the administration, relegated to making appearances around the world. She says that she doesn’t want that kind of position – she’s used to having real administrative and managerial duties. I hope that settles your mind a bit.
As far as abortions go, only 1% are due to rape or incest. I think most people are tired of the justification of the termination of 95 pregnancies for convenience based on the one due to rape or incest.
So you might want to update/revamp your arguments before you spray them across the internet. You’ll win many more converts that way.

I was not voting for Hillary because of the pro-choice agenda; I strongly believe that this country would be best with her as potus; I don’t care either way about pro-choice, but it seems very strange that you hear a lot of people in the pro-choice, pita arena talking about how horrible it is to kill animals or pets; just like “joy bizzare” from the view saying she is pro-choice (no one in my uterus as she says) but making comments about how palin is mean to the wolves in alaska (because she is for killing them)… HELLO how about the poor innocent babies that get murdered by abortion. I was a democrat but never again; I have registered as a independent and never will be a democrat as long as I live; they have totally lost their minds! I admire mccain for his service and true commitment to end earmarks and his proven record of working with both sides, and I like palin because she seems very down to earth and in tune with what this country really needs! palin and mccain have talked the talk and walked the walked; homobama and biden are more of the same, politics as usual!

It IS interesting how the pro-choice group seems more concerned about the well being of their pets than of unborn babies – and I’m not a “religious” person but I do have compassion. There are exceptions to every rule but the point is that we’re killing millions of babies a year due to simple denial in taking responsibility for our own actions and that’s not exactly a step in the right direction in my book. The issue is a tough call and people should have strong opinions on this very important topic. Pro-choice and pro-life issues aside – and as they should be aside because they are such a small part of the larger political picture – Sarah Palin is a well known success in local and state government and I’ve had her on my radar for many months. I was very pleased McCain chose her. I was not a big Hillary supporter though I would have much preferred her to the big Zero (thanks Rudi).
Being a woman, and an independent (I’ve voted different ways at different times in my life because I tend to use my brain to make decisions.) I am sooooooo happy to have two candidates that I feel represent my country in a positive way.

I wonder where all of these Hillary lovers were for the PAST TEN YEARS when Hannitty and Limbaugh were using HILLARY IS THE ANTICHRIST as punctuation to every sentence. Was there EVER a protest against their well funded well financed campaign against the Clintons? Was Limbaugh EVER taken off a radio station in West Virginia or Michigan because he ripped the Clintons a new one every day? But now .. Barack supposedly waged some covert sexist war by brainwashing the daughters of these well concealed midwestern feminists to support him and attack their mothers with vicious language or whatever this plot is supposed to involve.
