The Dining-Room Christmas Tree

This tree has a color scheme to match the room decor, burgandy and gold. We’ve been decorating this tree for about five years, now. Originally, I did actually have to go and buy a few ornaments from the store, to add to the overflow from the other tree. I originally used clear teardrop lights, but finally gave up on those, this year. They are beautiful lights, but are expensive, and can only make it through one season before the lights crap out. When I send my husband to the store to get reinforcements, he always gets it wrong. Always. Either the wrong size, or worse, the wrong color – cool clear, rather than the warm clear. Believe me, there’s a huge difference, and if your tree is decorated with golds, and other warm colors, you do not want the cool clear.

Even though this tree is my more “upscale” tree, there’s always room for the kids’ homemeade ornaments…as long as they match the color scheme.
