Republicans are rolling over like puppies for Obama/Reid/Pelosi. Redstate says Mitch McConnell is leading the retreat:

The idea that Mitch McConnell is protecting us from the Democrats is bullcrap.  We should collectively rip off his jaw and shovel the crap back down his throat that he’s been serving us.

Example 1:

McConnell has today allowed Harry Reid to move forward with the Lands Bill despite Tom Coburn’s hold on it.

Example 2:

McConnell will not fight for hunters rights on public land with regard to the Lands Bill.

Example 3:

McConnell will not even show up on Sunday to vote on the Lands Bill.

Example 4:

McConnell is not fighting Reid on throwing Coburn off the Judicial Committee and is already planning on caving to Reid’s demands to seriously cut the number of Republican Senators on Committees — an action that will significantly impact conservative senators.

Example 5:

McConnell privately told Republican senators this week that he will not publicly fight Barack Obama’s economic agenda.

And so on and so on and so on…

I read somewhere…that the Republicans were planning to pick and choose their fights carefully. I hope and pray that they eventually find something worth fighting for.

Dalai Lama Says Non Violence Doesn’t Work With Terrorists

The Dalai Lama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989:

New Delhi: The Dalai Lama, a lifelong champion of non-violence candidly stated that terrorism cannot be tackled by applying the principle of ahimsa because the minds of terrorists are closed. “It is difficult to deal with terrorism through non-violence,”the Tibetan spiritual leader said delivering the Madhavrao Scindia Memorial Lecture here. He termed terrorism as the worst kind of violence which is not carried by a few mad people but by those who are very brilliant and educated. “They (terrorists) are very brilliant and educated…but a strong ill feeling is bred in them. Their minds are closed,” the Dalai Lama said. He said the only way to tackle terrorism is through prevention.

Like….Preemptive strikes? If that doesn’t make liberal  heads explode, there’s always this:

The head of the Tibetan government-in-exile left the audience stunned when he said “I love President George W Bush.” He went on to add how he and the US President instantly struck a chord in their first meeting unlike politicians who take a while to develop close ties.

The Dalai Lama is obviously a good judge of character. I wonder what he thinks of Obama.

Obama To Create National Community Organizers On Steroids Army

Reporting from Washington — As Barack Obama builds his administration and prepares to take office next week, his political team is quietly planning for a nationwide hiring binge that would marshal an army of full-time organizers to press the new president’s agenda and lay the foundation for his reelection.

The organization, known internally as “Barack Obama 2.0,” is being designed to sustain a grass-roots network of millions that was mobilized last year to elect Obama and now is widely considered the country’s most potent political machine.

Remember those Obots who bullied HRC voters during the primaries, and intimidated Republicans at polling stations in some neighborhoods? Who deluged radio stations with angry phone calls if  the host or guest dared to question The One? Who knowingly broke campaign finance laws in order to donate to their Messiah? Who took to the streets in all of our major cities and signed up non existant people to vote, and then went on t.v. to defend that? And the bullies, mobies and astroturfers who polluted the internet with their b.s? And, oh yeah. The people who followed their idol’s lead, and called everyone who disagreed with him,  racists.

Those people are Obama’s “grassroots network”.

Organizers and even Republicans say the scope of this permanent campaign structure is unprecedented for a president. People familiar with the plan say Obama’s team would use the network in part to pressure lawmakers — particularly wavering Democrats — to help him pass complex legislation on the economy, healthcare and energy.

The plan could prompt tensions with members of Congress, who are unlikely to welcome the idea of Obama’s political network targeting them from within their own districts. Already, Democratic Party officials on the state level worry that it could become a competing political force that revolves around the president’s ambitions while diminishing the needs of down-ballot Democrats.

Though the plan still is emerging, one source with knowledge of the internal discussion said the organization could have an annual budget of $75 million in privately raised funds. Another said it would deploy hundreds of paid staff members — possibly one for every congressional district in certain politically important states and even more in larger battlegrounds such as Florida, Ohio, Colorado, Virginia and North Carolina.

Is this even legal?!

The full-time staff is likely to consist primarily of the presidential campaign workers, many in their 20s, who served as the local points of contact for the campaign’s vast network of neighborhood volunteers. As part of the new organization, these workers probably would focus on similar campaign-style tasks, such as arranging phone banks, distributing signs, recruiting more helpers, buying coffee and doughnuts for house meetings and reporting voter contact data to senior officials.

“The only way to keep this thing going is to have boots on the ground,” said a strategist familiar with the plan who spoke on condition of anonymity because campaign officials have not granted permission to talk about it.

This is why Obama never stopped sending his supporters fundraising emails. This is how he plans to dig in, pass all of his Socialist programs, and become President for life.

And the asleep at the wheel Republicans in Congress still haven’t figured out what they’re in for. They’re still in full swoon over “our first black President”!!11!

JUST AS BAD:

Another idea being bandied about by the Obama camp is to use the $75 million per year in private donations to create a permanent organization of disaster volunteers – Obama’s own personal FEMA, if you will, to do his bidding:

In what would be another unprecedented step, Obama’s political staff is deciding whether to create a service organization that would use the vast corps of its grass-roots campaign supporters. As described by one source knowledgeable with the discussions, this nonprofit arm would be used to help victims of natural disasters, but would do so under the Obama umbrella while continuing to build the overall network’s massive e-mail database.

Something tells me, the natural disaster work would be very secondary to the permanent campaign work.

And the uniforms would be brown.

This whole thing sounds like a walk back from his original idea of a Civil Service Corps that would have been at the taxpayer’s expense.

Basically, what Obama is talking about is creating a Committee for the Defense of Liberal Ideology and Political correctness funded by a half trillion taxpayer dollars. National Security for this crowd is not about stopping terrorists from killing our children. National Security means to teach our children to understand the terrorists and their motivations so that our children can learn how to live their lives submissively so as not to offend the sensitivities of the very sensitive America haters.

Their version of National Security is to force you to act for the common good of society and not in your own best interest. Since this goes against human nature, the half trillion dollar “Civilian National Security Force” will have to force Americans to change their nature and create a new citizen that is self sacrificing and collective in nature-an ant-like new man, like Che’s and Fidel’s new man.

This concept is eerily similar to the Castroite CDR block snitch network that I grew up with only better funded and more ideologically pure.

Obama Speaks Of “Imperfect” Constitution

Saw this at Pat Dollard’s:

This is from his speech in Philadelphia this morning. Where better to announce the founding of a new nation shaped in his image? And where else, more mocking, more audacious? And where else, better to fool people, as a patriot?

Did you catch it?

“It was these ideals that led us to declare independence, and craft our constitution, producing documents that were imperfect but had within them, like our nation itself, the capacity to be made more perfect.

We are here today not simply to pay tribute to our first patriots but to take up the work that they began.

And yet while our problems may be new, what is required to overcome them is not. What is required is the same perseverance and idealism that our founders displayed. What is required is a new declaration of independence not just in our nation, but in our own lives..independence from ideology…

A new Declaration of Independence?! No thanks…let’s keep the old one, please. Independence from ideology? What. the. hell? Just in time for the Obamanation?

Dollard says:

Later in another city, he made reference to the need for our Constitution to be rewritten as “more perfect”.

Who gets to define that? And why is that definition  better than the definition left us by the Founding Fathers?

If  I didn’t know any better, I would just chalk this up to a bunch of high minded, idealistic gobbledygook. But, I do know better. Obama has a history of trashing the Constitution. He’s serious when suggests that the Constitution needs to be rewritten. He wants to “break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution”, as he clearly stated in this interview from  2001.

Remember the “October Surprise” the MSM ignored ?

Bill Whittle weighed in at the time at NRO:

Now that’s just garden-variety socialism, which apparently is not a big deal to may voters. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution — at least as it’s been interpreted, and [the] Warren Court interpreted it in the same way, that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties: [it] says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf.

The United States of America — five percent of the world’s population — leads the world economically, militarily, scientifically, and culturally — and by a spectacular margin. Any one of these achievements, taken alone, would be cause for enormous pride. To dominate as we do in all four arenas has no historical precedent. That we have achieved so much in so many areas is due — due entirely — to the structure of our society as outlined in the Constitution of the United States.

The entire purpose of the Constitution was to limit government. That limitation of powers is what has unlocked in America the vast human potential available in any population.

Barack Obama sees that limiting of government not as a lynchpin but rather as a fatal flaw.

Whittle lamented:

That a man so clear in his understanding of the Constitution, and so opposed to the basic tenets it provides against tyranny and the abuse of power, can run for president of the United States is shameful enough.

Well it’s neither here nor there, now, I guess. Elections have consequences.

Oh yeah… in other news:

As Inauguration Day approaches and Barack Obama prepares to assume his first term as president, some in Congress are hoping to make it possible for the Democrat to not only seek a second term in office, but a third and fourth as well.

The U.S. House Committee on the Judiciary is considering a bill that would repeal the Constitution’s 22nd Amendment prohibiting a president from being elected to more than two terms in office.

Rep. Jose Serrano, D-N.Y., earlier this month introduced the bill, H. J. Res. 5, which, according to the bill’s language, proposes “an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.”

STILL MORE bad news for the Constitution:

A public policy organization has issued an urgent alert stating affirmative votes are needed from only two more states before a Constitutional Convention could be assembled in which “today’s corrupt politicians and judges” could formally change the U.S. Constitution’s “‘problematic’ provisions to reflect the philosophical and social mores of our contemporary society.”

“Don’t for one second doubt that delegates to a Con Con wouldn’t revise the First Amendment into a government-controlled privilege, replace the 2nd Amendment with a ‘collective’ right to self-defense, and abolish the 4th, 5th, and 10th Amendments, and the rest of the Bill of Rights,” said the warning from the American Policy Center.

“Additions could include the non-existent separation of church and state, the ‘right’ to abortion and euthanasia, and much, much more,” the group said.

The warning comes at a time when Barack Obama, who is to be voted the next president by the Electoral College Monday, has expressed his belief the U.S. Constitution needs to be interpreted through the lens

of current events.

Get ready for it.

So here’s the always entertaining Coulter with the always entertaining El Rushbo in the rare interview where she doesn’t have to spend most of her time defending her tone:

Obama’s Stealth Socialism

Here’s a healthy dose of reality for those conservatives who can’t help but join the Obama lovefest in near orgasmic glee of this historic moment – The first black man is about to take the oath of office as the President of the United States.

But there’s something even more historic, and of  more consequence, frankly than his skin color going on, here. This country is about to be led by a stone cold Marxist, set to lead this country into a new world order…. as ungracious and gauche as it sounds to say that. Sorry.

Mark Rudd is a former SDS/Weather Underground member who’s friendly with many of Obama’s radical chums in Chicago. He currently serves on the board of the Movement for a Democratic Society (MDS), the parent body of Progressives For Obama, a leading far left umbrella group behind Obama’s presidential campaign. None of this is new or surprising to those of us who have been paying attention.

According to The New Zeal:

Progressives for Obama is designed to unite radicals behind the president elect, defend Obama from attack and “explain” Obama’s positions to radicals who don’t understand his subtle approach to socialism.

The New Zeal noticed this entry from Rudd’s blog, last November 27:

If you’re anything like me, your inbox fills up daily with the cries and complaints of lefties. Just the mere mention of the names Hillary Clinton and Lawrence Summers alone conjure up a litany of horrendous right-wingers appointed to top level positions.

Betrayal is the name of the game.

But wait a second. Let’s talk about a few things:

* Obama is a very strategic thinker. He knew precisely what it would take to get elected and didn’t blow it…But he also knew that what he said had to basically play to the center to not be run over by the press, the Republicans, scare centrist and cross-over voters away. He made it.

So he has a narrow mandate for change, without any direction specified. What he’s doing now is moving on the most popular issues — the environment, health care, and the economy. He’ll be progressive on the environment because that has broad popular support; health care will be extended to children, then made universal, but the medical, pharmaceutical, and insurance corporations will stay in place…the economic agenda will stress stimulation from the bottom sometimes and handouts to the top at other times. It will be pragmatic…On foreign policy and the wars and the use of the military there will be no change at all. That’s what keeping Gates at the Pentagon and Clinton at State and not prosecuting the torturers is saying.

And never, never threaten the military budget. That will unite a huge majority of congress against him.

And I agree with this strategy. Anything else will court sure defeat. Move on the stuff you can to a small but significant extent, gain support and confidence. Leave the military alone because they’re way too powerful. For now, until enough momentum is raised. By the second or third year of this recession, when stimulus is needed at the bottom, people may begin to discuss cutting the military budget if security is being increased through diplomacy and application of nascent international law.

* Obama plays basketball. I’m not much of an athlete, barely know the game, but one thing I do know is that you have to be able to look like you’re doing one thing but do another. That’s why all these conservative appointments are important: the strategy is feint to the right, move left. Any other strategy invites sure defeat. It would be stupid to do otherwise in this environment.

* Look to the second level appointments. There’s a whole govt. in waiting that Podesta has at the Center for American Progress. They’re mostly progressives, I’m told (except in military and foreign policy). Cheney was extremely effective at controlling policy by putting his people in at second-level positions.

* Read Obama’s first book, “Dreams from My Father.” The second section is the story of his three years doing community organizing in Chicago. It’s some of the best writing on organizing I’ve ever seen. That’s all it’s about, the core of the book. Obama learned many lessons of strategy and patience. Then read the first section, on his family and growing up in Hawaii and Indonesia. No other president has ever had such intimate experience with class and race. The final section is about his trip to Kenya. No other president has ever had an understanding of not only race, but colonialism and neo-colonialism, even using the terms. It’s the whole story he tells of his African family and especially his father, a victim of neo-colonialism. As was his step-father in Indonesia.

This is no stupid guy…Had any of the stupid Republicans read his books, they never could have said, “We don’t know who this guy is.” You know every thought he’s ever had.

Our job now is to organize both inside and outside the Demo party. There’s already a big battle in the Demo party at every level. Here in the New Mexico State Legislature, the progressives are challenging the conservative Dems for leadership; the same is true in Congress. If you can’t stand to work in the party, work on putting mass pressure on issues such as healthcare and jobs and the war from outside.

Here’s my mantra: “Let’s put this country on our shoulders and get to work.”

How blatant is that?

I think maybe some of  our “stupid Republicans” are starting to appreciate our predicament. I hope they’re ready to fight, and fight hard. I don’t want to see the traditional  honeymoon for the new President. George W. Bush didn’t get one,  nor should Obama. Alot of  “changes” will be attempted in the first  days of the new Presidency, and Republicans, and moderate Democrats should be ready to fight them.

Remember That Passport Security Breach Story, Last March?

I sure do. It was covered quite extensively in the days after it happened, last March.

ABC reported it thus:

An embarrassed State Department admitted today that the passport files of all three presidential candidates — Sens. John McCain, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton — have been breached by its employees.

The bombshell announcement came within hours of the admission that Obama’s personal file was improperly accessed several times earlier this year and no one was notified of the breach.

In a rapid series of escalating admissions, State Department Secretary Condoleezza Rice called Obama to apologize. She then had to call Clinton to apologize as well. And by noon, the department held a news conference to concede that McCain’s personal file had also been improperly accessed.

State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said Rice made it clear to the agency’s inspector general that an investigation “is top priority.”

Additional details:

The breaches occurred on Jan. 9, Feb. 21 and March 14, and were detected by internal State Department computer checks, McCormack said. The department’s top management officer, Undersecretary Patrick Kennedy, said certain records, including those of high-profile people, are “flagged” with a computer tag that tips off supervisors when someone tries to view the records without a proper reason.

The State Department would not release the names of those who were fired and disciplined, or the names of the two companies they worked for. The department’s inspector general is investigating.

“We believe this was out of imprudent curiosity, but we are taking steps to reassure ourselves that that is, in fact, the case,” McCormack said.

It was also suggested by some at the time, that Condoleeza Rice was behind the spying of Barack Obama.

But what was the real motive for the breach?

Ken Timmerman connects some dots in this report at Newsmax:

Obama’s top terrorism and intelligence adviser, John O. Brennan, heads a firm that was cited in March for breaching sensitive files in the State Department’s passport office, according to a State Department Inspector General’s report released this past July.

The security breach, first reported by the Washington Times and later confirmed by State Department spokesman Sean McCormack, involved a contract employee of Brennan’s firm, The Analysis Corp., which has earned millions of dollars providing intelligence-related consulting services to federal agencies and private companies.

During a State Department briefing on March 21, 2008, McCormack confirmed that the contractor had accessed the passport files of presidential candidates Barack Obama, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and John McCain, and that the inspector general had launched an investigation.

Sources who tracked the investigation tell Newsmax that the main target of the breach was the Obama passport file, and that the contractor accessed the file in order to “cauterize” the records of potentially embarrassing information.

“Cauterize”? What does that mean exactly?

“They looked at the McCain and Clinton files as well to create confusion,” one knowledgeable source told Newsmax. “But this was basically an attempt to cauterize the Obama file.”

At the time of the breach, Brennan was working as an unpaid adviser to the Obama campaign.

What kind of “potentionally embarrassing information?”:

The passport files include “personally identifiable information such as the applicant’s name, gender, social security number, date and place of birth, and passport number,” according to the inspector general report.

The files may contain additional information including “original copies of the associated documents,” the report added. Such documents include birth certificates, naturalization certificates, or oaths of allegiance for U.S.-born persons who adopted the citizenship of a foreign country as minors.

Just to be clear….At the time of the breach, Brennan, who  heads the firm that was cited for the breach, was working as an unpaid adviser to the Obama campaign.

Timmerman continues:

“Fight the Smears” attempted to debunk rumors that Obama was not a U.S. citizen by producing a 2007 computer-generated copy of his certification of live birth.

“The truth is, Barack Obama was born in the state of Hawaii in 1961, a native citizen of the United States of America,” the Web site states.

However, “native citizen” is a colloquialism, not a legal term. It is not the same as “natural-born citizen,” the requirement to be president set out in Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution.

Chief Justice John Roberts has scheduled a Supreme Court conference on Jan. 23 on Lightfoot v. Bowen, one of several cases alleging that Obama is not a “natural born” citizen because of his birthright British citizenship.

Shortly after the election,  Brennan was rumored to be Obama’s pick for CIA director, but Senators would surely have questioned him about this, as well  this article he wrote in an  foreign policy magazine over the summer in which he advocated direct dialogue with Tehran, and assimilation of Hezbollah into Lebonan’s political system:

After nearly three decades of antagonistic rhetoric and diplomatic estrangement between the United States and Iran, the next president has the opportunity to set a new course for relations between the two countries. When the next president takes up residence at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Iranian officials will be listening. The president must implement a policy of engagement that encourages moderates in Iran without implying tolerance for Tehran’s historic support of terrorist activities. This strategy will require patience and sensitivity to the complex political realities inside Iran. To successfully chart a new course for U.S.-Iranian relations, the next president must (1) tone down rhetoric; (2) establish a direct dialogue with Tehran, including comprehensive, private discussions and deployment of a special envoy; (3) encourage greater assimilation of Hezbollah into Lebanon’s political system; and (4) offer carrots in addition to sticks, including consideration of legitimate Iranian concerns on regional security issues.

Anyway, as always…move along…nothing to see here.

And how about that Carol Browner, Obama’s pick for “Energy Czar”(ina)? Fox News boldly reports in an article titled, Carol Browner, Redder Than Obama Knows:

Incoming White House energy-environment czar Carol Browner was recently discovered to be a commissioner in Socialist International. While that revelation has been ignored by the mainstream media and blithely dismissed by her supporters, you may soon be paying the cost of Browner’s political beliefs in your electricity bill.

Socialist International is precisely what it sounds like — a decidedly anti-capitalistic political cause. Founded in 1951, its organizing document rails against capitalism, asserting that it “has been incapable of satisfying the elementary needs of the world’s population … unable to function without devastating crises and mass unemployment … produced social insecurity and glaring contrasts between rich and poor … [and] resorted to imperialist expansion and colonial exploitation.…” Socialist International also asserts, “In some countries, powerful capitalist groups helped the barbarism of the past to raise its head again in the form of Fascism and Nazism.” So Socialist International at least partly blames Adolph Hitler on capitalism.

According to its own principles, Socialist International favors the nationalization of industry, is skeptical of the benefits of economic growth and wants to establish a more “equitable international economic order.” In true Marxist form, it asserts that, “The concentration of economic power in few private hands must be replaced by a different order in which each person is entitled — as citizen, consumer or wage-earner — to influence the direction and distribution of production, the shaping of the means of production, and the conditions of working life.”

There’s much more in Socialist International’s principles, but you get the idea.

California Rep. Henry Waxman said Thursday the environment and U.S. economy depend on congressional action to confront the threat of climate change. Waxman, chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee, spoke as he opened Congress’ first hearing on climate legislation.

A group of 14 corporate executives and environmental leaders are testifying before the panel. They’re part of a 31-member coalition that is calling for an 80 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Waxman says  he wants to pass a climate change bill before Memorial Day. Why the hurry?

Synopsis

Architect Paul Murdoch split his giant Crescent of Embrace memorial to Flight 93 into two separate arcs at the top, in effect creating two separate crescents:

Detail view shows the pair of thousand foot long, fifty foot tall, Entry Portal walls. Both walls roughly follow the line of the circle that is symbolically broken by the flight path (seen coming down from the NNE).

The crescent defined by the end of the inner Entry Portal Wall points 1.8° north of Mecca, ± a tenth of a degree. The crescent defined by the end of the outer Entry Portal Wall points exactly at Mecca (± 0.1°):

The hidden exact Mecca orientation of the giant crescent is only one of the ways that Murdoch proves he pointed the crescent towards Mecca on purpose (making it a mihrab, the Mecca direction indicator around which every mosque is built). He also proves intent by exactly repeating both of the Mecca orientations of his giant central crescent in the crescents of trees that surround the Tower of Voices part of the memorial.

That two different crescent structures would by chance turn out to have this exact same multi-Mecca oriented geometry is 1 in 131 billion. Just run the numbers (with some help from Mr. Morricone):

Hamas’ Booming Death Industry

We often hear terrorist leaders boasting about how much they love death, specialize in it, even, as we cling to life. For instance, Ed Morrissey at Hot Air recently posted this video from last February, of  a Hamas politician explaining why his group loves to hide behind women, children, and the elderly:

[The enemies of Allah] do not know that the Palestinian people has developed its [methods] of death and death-seeking. For the Palestinian people, death has become an industry, at which women excel, and so do all the people living on this land. The elderly excel at this, and so do the mujahideen and the children. This is why they have formed human shields of the women, the children, the elderly, and the mujahideen, in order to challenge the Zionist bombing machine. It is as if they were saying to the Zionist enemy: “We desire death like you desire life.”

But when the Palestinians start taking casualties, the death and dying ain’t so much fun, actually:

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip — One family buried a slain son over his grandfather. Another bundled up the tiny bodies of three young cousins and lowered them into the grave of a long-dead aunt. A man was laid to rest with his brother.

More than two weeks into the Israeli offensive that has killed more than 940 Palestinians, Gazans are struggling to find places to bury their dead. Cemeteries throughout Gaza City that were closed for new burials have now reopened.

“Gaza is all a graveyard,” gravedigger Salman Omar said Tuesday as he shoveled earth in Gaza City’s crammed Sheik Radwan cemetery, a cigarette dangling from his lips.

Well, if death is their industry, business is booming right now, but I’m getting the impression that the women, and children, and elderly of Gaza – contrary to what we’ve been told – don’t really appreciate it as much as their leaders make out.

Do you need Obama coverage 24 hours a day? In several markets, Comcast cable is launching an all-Obama, On Demand channel. (In D.C., it’s channel 963).

Leading up to Inauguration, the channel will offer a number of Obama-related programs, according to a release: “Barack Obama’s most famous speeches to date, from his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in 2004 through his election night victory speech in Grant Park; Barack Obama biography; Michelle Obama’s 2008 Democratic National Convention speech; a tour of the White House; and the history of Air Force One.”

Dish Network offered an all Obama station during the campaign…(which was bad enough).
