Authorities Take Adolf Hitler Kid And Siblings Away From Parents

adolfhitler-kid

Wow:

State authorities have removed Adolf Hilter Campbell and his two sisters from their parents’ home in Holland Township, township police Chief David Van Gilson said today.

New Jersey’s Division of Youth and Family Services took the 3-year-old, as well as JoyceLynn Aryan Nation Campbell, 1, and Honszlynn Hinler Jeannie Campbell, who turns 1 in April, the chief said.

The chief  claimed that he didn’t know why the children were taken but said his department had received no reports of abuse or neglect.

I’m not quite sure what to make of this. On the one hand, I’m glad they’ve been taken because in my opinion, they’re unfit parents for naming their kids such names…..but I’m not queen of the world. We are a nation of laws. Can the case be made that they’re unfit parents based on the names they chose?

Unless there’s more to the story, I’m not sure  how NJ’s Div. of Youth and Family Services has the right to do this.  What do you think?

All I know is I feel bad for those kids…..the parents – not so much.

More:

at Hot Air:

The state statute defines child cruelty to include the infliction of “unnecessary suffering or pain, either mental or physical” — like naming a kid after Hitler? — but it also defines “child abuse” to include, er, the habitual use of profanity. (Yes, really.)

Maybe the dad has a really bad potty mouth, and that’s the pretense for taking the kids?

Help Find A Cure For The Deadliest Childhood Disease

lilypicture

A plea from the grandmother of a child with leukemia:

Since my 7-year old granddaughter, Lily, was diagnosed with Pre-B ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia) on December 1, 2008, our family has been reading a lot about childhood cancer and the research into finding cures. There’s not much funding for childhood cancer research.

Each school day, 46 children (two classrooms full!) are diagnosed with some form of cancer. In the past three days TWO children whose cancer journeys I’ve been following have died. A two year old named Kayla, and a 5-year old named Addison. Addison had the same kind of leukemia as Lily – had a positive prognosis, but then caught a bug and she couldn’t overcome it. Addison is the one that when Lily was first diagnosed, the doctor told my daughter they needed to get to know her because she was doing so well and would provide such encouragement for them. And then just a few weeks later, she is gone.

Finding a cure for childhood cancer is a life-or-death issue. Just take a brief trip to a children’s oncology hall at a hospital, and your own life will never be the same. These children can’t advocate for themselves because they’re literally fighting for their lives. It is up to us to be their advocates. So you can start by doing the following:

(1) Go to this web address: Citizen’s Briefing Book
(2) In the search box, type “childhood cancer”
(3) Click on the top item “Increased Funding for Childhood Cancer” (The one that was posted at 4:02 P.M.)
(4) Click on the “Vote UP” button. If you don’t already have an account, you will have to create an account. However, it’s free, and it’s quick – and the effort is worth it.
(5) You can read the letter along with the comments. You can log in or create an account if you would like to leave your own comment.

Janice Shaw at Townhall has more:

During the past six weeks, our extended family has been learning things that nobody ever wants to learn.  On December 1, 2008, my niece’s 7-year-old daughter, Lily, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL).  Today’s adults remember when such a diagnosis was a death sentence; 40 years ago patients with ALL had a four percent survival rate.  Now children with Lily’s type of leukemia have a 90 percent survival rate, because St. Jude’s hospital in Memphis made it their main mission in the 60s to discover treatments that work against childhood leukemia.  Researchers at St. Jude’s were criticized by those who believed that children with cancer should be allowed to die in peace rather than go through the horrible treatment that they had to endure.  Our family and thousands of others are so grateful that the researches prevailed and persevered.

*****

The wonderful doctors at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville described leukemia for Lily as a weed that was taking over a garden.  They challenged her to help them get rid of the weeds in her blood.  As a result, Lily named her website Lily’s Garden, www.lilysgarden.org. She wants to replace the weeds in her garden with beautiful lilies!

Lily’s family is challenging people to sign up for Nashville’s Country Music Marathon (CMM) on April 25, 2009, with the Leukemia/Lymphoma society as the main charity for the event. Anyone can register by going to www.cmmarathon.com.  Those who register for the CMM, can join Lily’s team by registering at her website, www.lilysgarden.org.  Lily’s team will have T-shirts and arm bands emblazoned with the slogan, “Walking to Weed Out Leukemia.”  The shirts are a shade of purple that suits both men and women.  More than 50 people have already signed up with Lily’s team; we’d love to have a sea of purple.

Please visit the linked sites if you’d like to help out.

IDF Finds Weapons Hidden In Mosque

The left is running out excuses for their outrage at the Israelis, and support of Hamas. I’m talking about people like this guy,who commented on an earlier post, here:

  1. Dave Says:

January, 9, 2009 at 7:06 pm: If Israel wants peace, bombing schools and mosques is no way to do it. Acting as if this is somehow a justified act of aggression is ignorance at its finest.

No, willful blindness is ignorance at its finest:

Good for the Israelis for bringing cameras, and posting the video. This is the only way to combat the propaganda.

Adventures in Cringing Police Dhimmitude

I’m starting to see a pattern: large dangerous mobs overwhelming impotent, acquiescing  police -  and it’s not just happening in Europe…it’s happening, here, too.

This is disgraceful; British police run away from Muslim thug protesters shouting allah Akhbar:

Why weren’t the police armed…with anything? No tear gas, no rubber bullets…nothing (but batons)?  What is the matter with Britain?

Hat tip: Weasel Zippers

MORE:

What’s the matter with us? Here’s a group of Muslim protesters burning an Israeli flag in San Francisco:

They’re the same people….ugly, violent, maniacal, insane!

Doesn’t San Francisco have a fire code they could have enforced? Or is this a free speech issue? I guess they’re used to flags burning on the left coast.

Again: Weasel Zippers

UPDATE:

Zombietime was at the San Francisco protest and took plenty of photos.

Of  interest:

counter-protester1

The only protester hassled by the police, according to Zombie,  was  this lone counter-protester, who was asked to leave, “for his own protection”.

The pro-Hamas thugs cheered his departure.

Zombie:

Meanwhile, protesters who openly supported the terrorist organization Hamas and waved the Hamas flag (as seen here) received no warnings at all about inciting the crowd. Which sharply highlights a depressing truth: If you express an opinion, no matter how wrongheaded, you are safe from criticism if enough people share it with you; but if you express an opinion, no matter how insightful, you will be penalized if you stand all alone.

That seems to be what happened with the British protest…There’s strength in numbers. I think we can stop tut tutting about Great Britain, now….

Gad…I’m still scrolling through Zombie’s pictures….

Jews supporting Hamas, “Outraged by Israel”?….Nazism = Zionism? Ugh…insanity! I see Che has been adopted by Palestinian supporters…

Well, here’s a surprise…The Sheehag was there:

sheehan-gaza

Of course she was there. Of course! She reflexively takes the wrong side of every conflict, as do so many these days.

Zombie guesstimates the crowd at two to three thousand.

Alice H. also took some excellent pictures at  a pro-Israel rally, with pro Hamas protesters over the weekend in Denver. Which group looks more normal to you?

UPDATE :

Another example of “cringing police dhimmitude” from Germany:

Today, 10.000 people demonstrated against Israel here in my hometown Duisburg (Germany) and to express their solidarity with Hamas. So, my girlfriend and me put two Israel flags out of the windows of our flat in the 3rd floor. During the demonstration which went through our street the police broke into our flat and removed the flag of Israel. The statement of the police was to de-escalate the situation, because many youth demonstrators were on the brink of breaking into our apartment house. Before this they threw snowballs, knifes and stones against our windows and the complete building. We both were standing on the other side of the street and were shocked by seeing a police officer standing in our bedroom and opening the window to get the flag. The picture illustrate this situation. The police acquiesced in the demands of the mob.

Jewish Odysseus:

I am thinking about establishing the “Duisburg Police Award for Forceful yet Cringing Dhimmitude Beyond the Call of Duty.” Maybe have it awarded weekly? Naaaaahhhh, not frequent enough, I’ll need to award it at least once a day.

Joe The Plumber In Israel

jtp-in-israel

Joe the Plumber examines rocket remains in Sderot on Sunday.
Photo: GPO

Samuel Wurzelbacher landed with a splash in Jerusalem, yesterday, and immediately took shots at the media reportage of the Israel/Hamas conflict:

“You should be ashamed of yourself,” he told foreign reporters.

“You should be patriotic, protect your family and children, not report like you have been doing for the past two weeks since this war has started,” he said.

Some pundits, like Jazz Shaw, are critical of Wurzelbacher’s lack of journalistic credentials:

But we should probe a bit deeper into Joe’s qualifications as a war correspondent, as this is generally not the first assignment a cub reporter pulls upon joining a network. We might expect him to have a command of, or at least a passing familiarity with the languages spoken by the locals. He should be well versed in the history of the conflict, the primary participants, and the leading power figures. Lastly, as a reporter, we would expect an engaging figure on camera, exuding competence and armed with excellent communication skills in his native tongue. Have we any signs of this?

All these are valid questions, but they miss the point. Joe isn’t your average war correspondent. He  is a citizen reporter, there to cover the side of the story other reporters somehow miss. Last October,  he asked the now famous question that no other “qualified reporter” had managed to ask Obama; “Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn’t it”?

Here’s what Wurzelbacher himself says about why he decided to cover the war, (via The Jerusalem Post):

Wurzelbacher had already announced that he would arrive in the area for 10 days to cover Operation Cast Lead and to assist in getting out the Israeli side of the story.

“I want the average American Joes to understand the story here from the point of view of someone like them,” he told WNWO, a TV channel in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio, before heading here.

What Shaw misses is that there is a propaganda war going on along with the actual hostilities. The Palestinians already have plenty of help from the usual suspects.

Joe the Plumber wants to help  the Israeli side of the story, out.  He has good instincts. I think he’ll do just fine.

The Oldest Hatred Continues Apace

In  NRO, Saturday, Mark Stein wrote about The Oldest Hatred, a hatred that should send a chill down the spine of anyone with even a passing knowledge of history.  But disturbingly, it seems more and more people are jumping on the bandwagon:

In Toronto, anti-Israel demonstrators yell “You are the brothers of pigs!”, and a protester complains to his interviewer that “Hitler didn’t do a good job.”

In Fort Lauderdale, Palestinian supporters sneer at Jews, “You need a big oven, that’s what you need!”

In Amsterdam, the crowd shouts, “Hamas, Hamas! Jews to the gas!”

Another example of this despicable form of “protest” via Gateway Pundit:

In Los Angeles this week the pro-Hamas protesters were cheering for Hitler and–
“Put the Jews in the oven!”

Steyn continues:

In Paris, the state-owned TV network France-2 broadcasts film of dozens of dead Palestinians killed in an Israeli air raid on New Year’s Day. The channel subsequently admits that, in fact, the footage is not from January 1st 2009 but from 2005, and, while the corpses are certainly Palestinian, they were killed when a truck loaded with Hamas explosives detonated prematurely while leaving the Jabaliya refugee camp in another of those unfortunate work-related accidents to which Gaza is sadly prone. Conceding that the Palestinians supposedly killed by Israel were, alas, killed by Hamas, France-2 says the footage was broadcast “accidentally.”

In Toulouse, a synagogue is firebombed; in Bordeaux, two kosher butchers are attacked; at the Auber RER train station, a Jewish man is savagely assaulted by 20 youths taunting, “Palestine will kill the Jews;” in Villiers-le-Bel, a Jewish schoolgirl is brutally beaten by a gang jeering, “Jews must die.”

In Helsingborg, the congregation at a Swedish synagogue takes shelter as a window is broken and burning cloths thrown in; in Odense, principal Olav Nielsen announces that he will no longer admit Jewish children to the local school after a Dane of Lebanese extraction goes to the shopping mall and shoots two men working at the Dead Sea Products store; in Brussels, a Molotov cocktail is hurled at a Belgian synagogue; in Antwerp, lit rags are pushed through the mail flap of a Jewish home; and, across the Channel, “youths” attempt to burn the Brondesbury Park Synagogue.

In London, the police advise British Jews to review their security procedures because of potential revenge attacks. The Sun reports “fears” that “Islamic extremists” are drawing up a “hit list” of prominent Jews, including the Foreign Secretary, Amy Winehouse’s record producer, and the late Princess of Wales’s divorce lawyer.

Also in London, pro-Hamas supporters tore up the city and attacked police at the Israeli Embassy. In Bosnia:

a graffiti “Kill a Jew” has appeared on the fence of the Croatian National Theater in the center of the Bosnian city of Mostar.

The graffiti “Kill a Jew” also appeared on containers across the city of Mostar.

But it’s not just Muslim extemists, it’s also some Muslim “moderates” getting in on the act, and also of course, leftist liberals, who with their unspoken alliance with Islamofascists put the blame of the latest hostility squarely on the part of the Jews. Always the Jews.

On the question of whether Israel had the right to defend itself against rocket attacks (which seems like a no brainer to me), five U.S. Congressmen actually voted No:

Dennis J. Kucinich (D)

Gwen Moore (D)

Nick Rahall (D)

Maxine Waters (D)

Ron Paul

And many more opted to vote “present”, (Obama style):

The Guardian advocates a boycott of Israel in an oped:

Every day that Israel pounds Gaza brings more converts to the BDS (Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions), cause – even among Israeli Jews. In the midst of the assault roughly 500 Israelis, dozens of them well-known artists and scholars, sent a letter to foreign ambassadors in Israel. It calls for “the adoption of immediate restrictive measures and sanctions” and draws a clear parallel with the anti-apartheid struggle. “The boycott on South Africa was effective, but Israel is handled with kid gloves … This international backing must stop.”

You just look at this and scratch your head. These people are defending a regime that targets civilians, and that just brought back crucifixion, for God’s sake…. .

Steyn ends his piece:

You can just about understand why living in Gaza would teach you madness. The enthusiastic adoption of the same pathologies by mainstream Europe is even more deranged — and in the end will prove just as self-destructive.

RIP: Fr. Richard John Neuhaus

neuhaus

The great man succumbed to the cancer he was suffering, yesterday. He was 72 years old.

Raymond Arroyo eulogizes in the WSJ:

Richard Neuhaus was born in Pembroke, Ontario, in 1936. Like his father, he would become a Lutheran priest. He eventually pastored a large black congregation in Brooklyn and in the 1960s and 1970s became a leader in the civil-rights and antiwar movements. Of his work with Martin Luther King Jr., he once wrote that God “used his most unworthy servant Martin to create in our public life a luminous moment of moral truth about what Gunnar Myrdal rightly called ‘the America dilemma,’ racial justice. It seems a long time ago now, but there is no decline in the frequency of my thanking God for his witness and for having been touched, however briefly, by his friendship, praying that he may rest in peace, and that his cause may yet be vindicated.”

Where faith and his hatred for injustice led him to liberal activism, it would soon lead him away from it. In the wake of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, he left what he called “the movement” and started down a new, more conservative path.

Father Neuhaus converted to Catholicism in 1990, and was ordained a Roman Catholic priest by Cardinal John O’Connor.

I got to know him as a reader of his excellent journal, First Things which I subscribed to for years. If you read anything of length today, read his recounting of  his near death experience, Born Toward Dying,  from when he was first diagnosed with colon cancer. It was published in Feb. 2000. A snippet:

It was a couple of days after leaving intensive care, and it was night. I could hear patients in adjoining rooms moaning and mumbling and occasionally calling out; the surrounding medical machines were pumping and sucking and bleeping as usual. Then, all of a sudden, I was jerked into an utterly lucid state of awareness. I was sitting up in the bed staring intently into the darkness, although in fact I knew my body was lying flat. What I was staring at was a color like blue and purple, and vaguely in the form of hanging drapery. By the drapery were two “presences.” I saw them and yet did not see them, and I cannot explain that. But they were there, and I knew that I was not tied to the bed. I was able and prepared to get up and go somewhere. And then the presences—one or both of them, I do not know—spoke. This I heard clearly. Not in an ordinary way, for I cannot remember anything about the voice. But the message was beyond mistaking: “Everything is ready now.”

That was it. They waited for a while, maybe for a minute. Whether they were waiting for a response or just waiting to see whether I had received the message, I don’t know. “Everything is ready now.” It was not in the form of a command, nor was it an invitation to do anything. They were just letting me know. Then they were gone, and I was again flat on my back with my mind racing wildly. I had an iron resolve to determine right then and there what had happened. Had I been dreaming? In no way. I was then and was now as lucid and wide awake as I had ever been in my life.

Nearly ten years later, he was ready.

He’ll be missed by many.

Your Friday Video: Alfonzo’s Debut At Big Hollywood

You gotta love Alfonzo Rachel of Macho Sauce Productions, a self proclaimed black conservative republican in liberal Hollywood, a rare breed indeed.

Soothsayer Reid: Coleman “Will Never Ever Serve” Again In Senate

reid-boycott

Reid can apparently see into the future because he just told us that not only will Coleman definitely lose his court challenge, he will never ever run again for a MN Senate seat, and if he does, he’ll lose.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid offered the toughest language he has ever used in arguing that Norm Coleman’s career in the Senate is finished.

“Norm Coleman will never ever serve [again] in the Senate,” Reid told Politico’s Manu Raju. “He lost the election. He can stall things, but he’ll never serve in the Senate.”

Al Franken was declared the winner today by the state’s Canvassing Board in the closely-contested Minnesota Senate race, defeating Sen. Norm Coleman by 225 votes. Coleman’s campaign has said it is contesting the result, preventing Franken from receiving an election certificate until all the legal challenges are resolved.

Reid added that he will not be trying to seat Franken in the Senate on Tuesday.  When asked if Franken would be sworn in tomorrow, Reid said: “No.”

Of course we know for a definite fact Franken will serve eventually, and Coleman will “never ever” serve in the Senate; Lord Reid has decreed it.

More on the Senator Coleman’s challenge of the tainted recount at Minnestoa Democrats Exposed, where an excellent point is made:

In Minnesota, a victory margin of less than one-half of 1 percent triggers a recount. That’s ridiculous, because the process that followed resulted in even less than a one-half of 1 percent margin for the victor.

The Propaganda War Against Israel

It didn’t take long after the Israeli bombing campaign started, for the usual suspects throughout  the U.S and the world to start mounting  their massive protests.

More rabid Jew hatred, here.

There is a propaganda war being fought, and as usual, the good guys are losing. The usual terrorist tactic of  using civilian shields is having the predictable result, with the predictable outcry  from a gullible public.  As Israel warns houses  of impending attacks,  Hamas uses the intelligence to move women and children into the targeted areas. The newspaper coverage of  the conflict has been abysmal, consistently favoring the Palestinian side.

Lawhawk opines:

Hamas still benefits greatly from media sympathizers who will unquestioningly run agitprop for Hamas and savaging Israel’s defensive actions. MSNBC is particularly awful at maintaining objectivity in US media. The British media is far worse and I wont even begin to get into the sewers and fever swamps of the state-run propagandists of the Arab world.

But the Israelis are pushing back:

The IDF is using Youtube to bypass the MSM.  And the ADL is making available free posters and literature to anyone who wants to get the true story out.

And here’s an oped in the Wall Street  Journal from Benjamin Netanyahu, today:

Imagine a siren that gives you 30 seconds to find shelter before a Kassam rocket falls from the sky and explodes, spraying its lethal shrapnel in all directions. Now imagine this happens day after day, month after month, year after year.

If you can imagine that, you can begin to understand the terror to which hundreds of thousands of Israelis have been subjected. Three years ago Israel withdrew from every square inch of Gaza. And since that withdrawal, our civilians have been targeted by more than 6,000 rockets and mortars fired from Gaza. In the face of this relentless bombardment, Israel has acted with a restraint that other countries, faced with a similar threat, would find hard to fathom. Israel’s government has finally decided to respond.

For this action to succeed, we must first have moral clarity. There is no moral equivalence between Israel, a democracy which seeks peace and targets the terrorists, and Hamas, an Iranian-backed terror organization that seeks Israel’s destruction and targets the innocent.

Here’s a video primer of the Middle East conflict courtesy of  the Terrorism Awareness Project:

And via Ms. Underestimated, here’s Alan Colmes on H & C,  getting pwned by a former Israeli special forces soldier:

UPDATE:

Via Gateway Pundit:

Joe the Plumber is on his his way to Israel to be a war correspondent!

UPDATE II:

Here’s a great article by Lisa Fabrizio at the American Spectator:

In a sane world, one faced with a religious cult that has been responsible for countless incidents of brutality and monstrous assaults on innocent life all over the world, we might see that world unite to rid itself of those responsible for these atrocities. As in WWII or the Gulf War, the civilized nations would put aside their differences and come together in the name of decency to defend the decent.

But in a mad, mad world, the perpetrators are lauded as “freedom fighters” and defended by “human rights” groups. Now, with renewed hostilities in the Gaza Strip, much of the world has incredibly decided that the fault lies with Israel, a people who in sixty short years have gone from earning the sympathy and respect of the world for enduring the Holocaust to being on the receiving end of its hatred and enmity.

In a world that claims to defend the lives of the innocent, any culture that encourages its women to become suicide bombers and straps bombs to its children and the mentally ill would justly earn the scorn and contempt of good men everywhere. Yet, in a crazed world, this behavior is incredibly excused by blaming it on the victims of such ungodly acts.

Read the whole thing.

Aussie Judge Warns Teen Of ‘Gorillas In The Mist’

gorilla

Think prison…showers….big hairy guys.  Yeah, a  judge in Sydney, Australia has an interesting way of putting the fear of God into teens arrested for drag racing:

“You’ll find big, ugly, hairy strong men (in jail) who’ve got faces only a mother could love that will pay a lot of attention to you and your anatomy,” said Magistrate Brian Maloney.

The 19-year-old male appeared in Sydney’s Downing Center Court on Monday charged with driving without a license, failing to stop at a police alcohol check point and driving dangerously.

It was his third time before the courts for driving offences, prompting the magistrate’s warning he would be jailed next time.

Maloney barred the teenager from driving until 2013, placed him on a 12-month good behavior bond and ordered him to do 150 hours of community work.

Breaching any of these conditions would see the teenager jailed where he would “shower with the gorillas in the mist down at Long Bay jail,” said Maloney, his comments confirmed by the court on Tuesday.

I surprised the judge didn’t advise the teen to invest in some soap on a rope, just in case.

The Sydney Telegraph supports the judges warning, as street racing has been an increasing problem in the city.

The newspaper’s editorial backed the magistrate’s warning of life behind bars, saying his comments were “a vision in clarity” and gave the teenager “a reality check of his future.”

Well, I hope that the kid’s been scared straight.
