Obama’s Radical Science Czar

If you haven’t read Zombietime’s disturbing report about Obama’s new “Science Czar”, forced abortion, and mass sterilization enthusiast, John Holdren, you really need to. These days, he’s primarily a global warming alarmist, but in the ’70′s he was a big proponent of Paul Ehrlich’s population bomb hysteria, and co-authered the book, Ecoscience, with him.

Most of us remember Paul Ehrlich as the crank who famously predicted world wide catastrophes in his book, The Population Bomb, back in the sixties.  His  dire warnings of eminent doom continued into the the ’70′s.  Here’s a partial list of his predictions that  never actually materialized:

  • “The battle to feed humanity is over. In the 1970s the world will undergo famines . . . [AND] hundreds of millions of people [including Americans] are going to starve to death.” (1968)
  • “Smog disasters” in 1973 might kill 200,000 people in New York and Los Angeles. (1969)
  • “I would take even money that England will not exist in the year 2000.” (1969)
  • “Before 1985, mankind will enter a genuine age of scarcity . . . in which the accessible supplies of many key minerals will be facing depletion.” (1976)

Ehrlich also predicted:

“India couldn’t possibly feed two hundred million more people by 1980,” and “I have yet to meet anyone familiar with the situation who thinks that India will be self-sufficient in food by 1971.”

For this dismal record of failure, and another doom and gloom book he authored in 1990, The Population Explosion, he was awarded:

The book he co-wrote with Obama’s new Czar, John Holdren, Ecoscience, has received scant attention, however. Michelle Malkin notes that the msm, even now, is studiously avoiding the exposition of the book’s bizarre and disturbing recommendations to save the planet.

Per Zombie’s  report, we learn the book advocates:

• Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;
• The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation’s drinking water or in food;
• Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
• People who “contribute to social deterioration” (i.e. undesirables) “can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility” — in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
• A transnational “Planetary Regime” should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives — using an armed international police force.

Impossible, you say? That must be an exaggeration or a hoax. No one in their right mind would say such things.

Well, I hate to break the news to you, but it is no hoax, no exaggeration. John Holdren really did say those things, and this report contains the proof. Below you will find photographs, scans, and transcriptions of pages in the book Ecoscience, co-authored in 1977 by John Holdren and his close colleagues Paul Ehrlich and Anne Ehrlich. The scans and photos are provided to supply conclusive evidence that the words attributed to Holdren are unaltered and accurately transcribed.

As with Ehrlich,  instead of  being censored and ostracized for holding such odious and erroneous views, Holdren has been given many prestigious positions and awards:

  • Fellow, American Academy of Arts and Sciences
  • Member, National Academy of Engineering
  • Member, National Academy of Sciences
  • MacArthur Foundation Prize Fellowship, 1981
  • Member of President Clinton’s Committee of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), 1994-2001
  • Chair of the Committee on International Security and Arms Control of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, 1993-2004
  • Volvo Environment Prize of 1993 (with Paul Ehrlich)
  • Nobel Peace Prize acceptance lecture on behalf of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs, December 1995
  • Chair of the Executive Committee of the Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs, 1987-1997
  • Kaul Foundation Award in Science and Environmental Policy, 1999
  • Tyler Prize for Environmental Achievement, 2000
  • 7th Heinz Award in Public Policy, 2001
  • President of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, 2006

…and now he’s been given a powerful and prestigious position in the Obama administration.

This appointment continues Obama’s  trend of appointing radicals like, Chas Freeman to the National Intelligence Council,  and transnationalist, Harold Koh, to the State Dept.

Flight 93 Memorial Blogburst #65

Everyone involved with the Flight 93 Memorial knows that the Crescent of Embrace points to Mecca

In 2007, Flight 93 Advisory Commission member Tim Baird told Alec Rawls (the author of these blogburst posts) that everyone at the meetings he attended is fully aware that the giant crescent, originally named the Crescent of Embrace, really does point almost exactly at Mecca. Professor Baird says they all just assume (himself included) that the Mecca orientation must be an innocent coincidence.

Pretty crazy, when they have also been told the meaning of a crescent that Muslims face into to face Mecca. Every mosque is built around a Mecca-direction indicator called a mihrab, and the classic mihrab is crescent shaped. Geometrically, the Crescent of Embrace is the world’s largest mihrab.

However honestly Project Partners believe that the Mecca orientation of the crescent must be a coincidence, this is not what they tell the public. When reporters asked Memorial Project Superintendent Joanne Hanley about the Mecca orientation, she denied it:

“The only thing that orients the memorial is the crash site,” she said.

Thinking that the Mecca orientation of the crescent must be a coincidence in no way justifies lying to the public about this explosive information. If Baird’s account is accurate—that the dozens of Memorial Project Partners all know that the giant crescent actually does point to Mecca—then the Memorial Project has a lot of explaining to do. Now an overlooked article from 2007 corroborates Professor Baird’s information.

Dr. Glenn Kashurba

It turns out that a Pennsylvania psychiatrist who has been intimately involved with the memorialization of Flight 93 (writing two books on the subject) argued to a reporter before the July 2007 Memorial Project meeting that the Mecca-orientation of the giant crescent (which he took as a given) should be seen as coincidental:

“When you calculate angles to Mecca – I’m going to be in Washington, D.C., this week, and I’m sure if I calculate angles of the monuments, at least one points to Mecca,” Kashurba said. “I don’t know if it will be the White House or the Lincoln Memorial, but at least one will. People looking for a way to support their way of looking at things will look at this in this way for ever and ever.”

If Dr. Kashurba was getting his information from the Memorial Project’s public statements, he would have denied that the crescent points to Mecca. Here is what Memorial Project Partner Patrick White told the press 9 days before the Kashurba story:

Rawls, of Palo Alto, Calif., contends that the centerpiece of the design points toward Mecca.

Rawls’ claims are untrue and “preposterous,” according to Patrick White, Families of Flight 93 vice president. “We went through in detail all his original claims and came away with nothing.”

Kashurba knew better, as did Patrick White himself. The week after his public denial, a local woman asked White how he could be okay with the Mecca orientation of the giant crescent. This time White did not deny the Mecca orientation, but argued that it cannot be seen as honoring Islam because the inexactness of the Mecca orientation would be “disrespectful” to Islam.

Mecca orientation takes literally 2 minutes to verify, starting from source documents

It is not surprising that these Memorial Project insiders would know that the giant crescent does in fact point almost exactly at Mecca (1.8° north of Mecca to be precise, ± 0.1°). After all, they had by the summer of 2007 been examining Rawls’ report, and answering questions from the press about it, for over a year, and the near Mecca orientation of the Crescent of Embrace is trivially easy to verify.

Just use any of the online Islamic prayer-direction calculators to print out the direction to Mecca from Somerset PA. Place this graphic over the Crescent site-plan on your computer screen, and you will see that the Mecca-direction line (which Muslims call “qibla”) almost exactly bisects the crescent:

The green circle in this image is from the qibla calculator at Islam.com (down at the moment, but you can use the one at Qibla.com, or QiblaLocator.com). A person standing between the tips of the giant crescent and facing into the center of the crescent will be facing almost exactly at Mecca.

Patrick White knows this and deceives the press and the public about it. Dr. Kashurba knows it and stands by as White and others deceive the press and the public about it. These deceptions have been blatant.

Everything points to Mecca?

The Project even went to far as to dig up an academic fraud from Texas, willing to deny that there is any such thing as the direction to Mecca:

Daniel Griffith, a geospatial information sciences professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, said anything can point toward Mecca, because the earth is round.

Was the reporter embarrassed to ask Muslims if they can really face any direction to face Mecca? Hard to blame her. Just to ask such a stupid question is to answer it, but the obviousness of the fraud is no excuse for letting it stand.

According to Professor Baird, every Memorial Project member who saw these denials knew that they were fraudulent, yet not one of them has tried to tell the public about the Project’s dishonest cover-up. When the truth does get out to the broader public, Project members are going to have a lot to answer for, which is presumably why they are keeping their mouths shut now. They have done a very bad thing and they don’t want it exposed.

What proves Islamic intent is the architect’s elaborate repetition of the Mecca orientation

No one ever claimed that the almost exact Mecca orientation of the Crescent of Embrace proves Islamic intent. Architect Paul Murdoch proves intent in a different way: by elaborate repetition of his Mecca orientations. His first confirmation of intent is to include an exact Mecca orientation.

In Murdoch’s explanation, the flight path breaks the circle, turning it into the giant crescent. To find this thematically defined crescent, remove those parts of the full Crescent of Embrace that extend out past the point where the flight path breaks the circle. The resulting true or thematic crescent points EXACTLY at Mecca:

At the upper tip of the crescent, the flight path comes down from the NNE and symbolically breaks the circle. What symbolically remains standing is the true or thematic Crescent of Embrace, pointing exactly at Mecca.

Murdoch’s next confirmation of intent is to exactly repeat this entire multi-Mecca oriented geometry in the vast array of crescents of trees that surround the Tower of Voices part of the memorial. Setting aside the chance that an architect could in the first place design a memorial to Flight 93 out of nothing but crescents just by innocent coincidence (which must be close to zero), the odds that these crescents would by random chance manifest Murdoch’s repeated Mecca orientations are 1 in 131 billion:

The only change was to include an explicitly broken off part of the circle

The original Crescent of Embrace design included the symbolically broken off parts at the upper crescent tip. When the bare naked Islamic-crescent shape caused a public uproar, the Memorial Project added another broken off part of the circle, floating out in front of the mouth of the original crescent.

They call it a broken circle now, but the unbroken part of the circle, the symbolic result of 9/11, is still a giant Islamic shaped crescent, still pointing EXACTLY at Mecca. That makes it a mihrab, the Mecca-direction indicator around which every mosque is built. The planned memorial is actually a terrorist memorial mosque.

Liz Cheney May Run For Office

liz cheney

Liz Cheney, in an exclusive to the WSJ allowed that a future run for office is something she would consider:

“It’s something I very well may do,” said Elizabeth “Liz” Cheney, a lawyer and State Department appointee who has worked on two Republican presidential campaigns.

It takes quite a bit of gumption for a conservative mother of five children to run for office in today’s cut throat political atmosphere… just ask  Sarah Palin. Ms. Cheney knows she’ll have a target on her back, and as the daughter of Dick Cheney, she will be targeted by the left with perhaps an even more rabid intensity than Palin was.

But she’s shown herself in recent months to be a poised, fearless, knowledgeable, and competent force to be reckoned with.

Ms. Cheney, 44, has emerged as one of the strongest defenders of the effectiveness and legality of Bush-Cheney policies on enhanced interrogation methods.

Here she is, calmly making hercase back in May, in the face of Lawence O’Donnell’s feverish arguments:

The woman is absolutely unflappable. And she knows her stuff.

As for the recent bruhaha over the allegations that her father ordered the CIA to hide info from congress, she had this to say:

“It gets more and more appalling everyday,” she said. “I think they’re very worried about Speaker Pelosi.”

The super secret plan that liberals are so exercised about?

The CIA secretly planned … to capture and/or kill … al-Qaeda’s top leaders.

Thank Goodness CIA director, Leon Panetta halted this dastardly program…we can all feel safer now that we can be sure that our intelligence agency has no intention of killing our sworn enemies.

Drew M at AoSHQ reports that the program wasn’t super secret, anyhow, nor was it much of a program:

The official noted that Congress had long been briefed on the finding, and that the CIA effort wasn’t so much a program as “many ideas suggested over the course of years.” It hadn’t come close to fruition, he added.Michigan Rep. Pete Hoekstra, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, said little had been spent on the efforts — closer to $1 million than $50 million. “The idea for this kind of program was tossed around in fits and starts,” he said.

Meanwhile, Eric Holder, who recently voided the conviction of the armed, uniformed Black Panthers in the voter intimidation case from the 2008 election, is still considering prosecuting the people who kept us safe for seven years.

MORE Liz Cheney awesomeness:

I somehow missed her kick-A piece in the WSJ, today, about Obama’s rewrite of the Cold War:

There are two different versions of the story of the end of the Cold War: the Russian version, and the truth. President Barack Obama endorsed the Russian version in Moscow last week.

Ouch.

It is irresponsible for an American president to go to Moscow and tell a room full of young Russians less than the truth about how the Cold War ended. One wonders whether this was just an attempt to push “reset” — or maybe to curry favor. Perhaps, most concerning of all, Mr. Obama believes what he said.

Mr. Obama’s method for pushing reset around the world is becoming clearer with each foreign trip. He proclaims moral equivalence between the U.S. and our adversaries, he readily accepts a false historical narrative, and he refuses to stand up against anti-American lies.

The approach was evident in his speech in Moscow and in his speech in Cairo last month. In Cairo, he asserted there was some sort of equivalence between American support for the 1953 coup in Iran and the evil that the Iranian mullahs have done in the world since 1979. On an earlier trip to Mexico City, the president listened to an extended anti-American screed by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega and then let the lies stand by responding only with, “I’m grateful that President Ortega did not blame me for the things that occurred when I was 3 months old.”

Asked at a NATO meeting in France in April whether he believed in American exceptionalism, the president said, “I believe in American Exceptionalism just as I suspect that the Brits believe in British exceptionalism and the Greeks believe in Greek exceptionalism.” In other words, not so much.

The Obama administration does seem to believe in another kind of exceptionalism — Obama exceptionalism. “We have the best brand on Earth: the Obama brand,” one Obama handler has said. What they don’t seem to realize is that once you’re president, your brand is America, and the American people expect you to defend us against lies, not embrace or ignore them. We also expect you to know your history.

Read the whole thing…she’s not through kicking him around.

Enchanted Media Moment of the Week:Obama More Catholic Than The Pope?

What is it with Newsweek, lately?

Last February, they triumphantly declared that we’re all Socialists, now. Then Newsweek editor Evan Thomas called Obama ‘a sort of God’ on national t.v., and last week, boldly going where no mag has gone before, Newsweek demoted him to mere Pope. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend is the author of  the sophomoric piece, which most Catholic teenagers would have more sense than to write.

What could possibly possess them to publish this over the top, nonsensical drivel, which amounts to nothing more than defining great religious leadership as bowing to the whims of societal trends? It’s too ridiculous to spend much time on, but Captain Ed did, so I will quote him:

Townsend fills the pages with the usual liberal complaints about the church, including gay rights, abortion, and — this is the best part — a complaint that the church hierarchy doesn’t listen to the congregations and change religious doctrine to match public opinion.  She lauds Obama for his ability to “listen” to other points of view, apparently missing the months-long repetition that no one had an alternative to Porkulus when Republicans and Democrats both tried to get votes for smaller and more intelligently-crafted alternatives.

Townsend makes the same mistake about religion that many other Catholics (and not just Catholics) make about it.  A church isn’t a democracy, nor is it a nation.  The Catholic Church serves what its sees as eternal truths about God, Jesus Christ, and the world, and invites those who believe similarly to join.  No one is forced to remain a Catholic anywhere in the world, nor are Lutherans, Episcopalians, and so on.  Certainly one can disagree on policy and practices, as many Catholics do, but on doctrine, the church does not take polls.

I would just add that the very idea that Obama is more Catholic than the Pope is a particularly perverse one,  given his history defending abortion/infanticide, which the Church never condones. Obama is someone who actually argued that the BAIPA, (which allowed doctors to care for babies who were born after botched abortions) was too much of a burdon on abortionists.

More Catholic than the Pope!

Obama did tell Pope Benedict XVI that he wants to reduce the number of abortions in the US, but as always with him…watch what he does, not what he says.

The Pope, in turn gave Obama a  booklet explaining the Vatican’s opposition to practices such as abortion and embryonic stem cell research, which Obama, of course supports.

More On The PA Swim Club Racial Incident

This AP story, although less one sided than the local NBC Philadelphia story from yesterday, still looks bad for The Valley Club in Huntington Valley, and now the PA Human Relations Commission is investigating. If allegations that the group of black children from the Creative Steps Camp were denied the use of the pool based on their race are true, that would be illegal discrimination.

The incident occurred on June 29, when the Creative Steps camp in northeast Philadelphia, which had contracted for  65 children  to go to the Valley Club each Monday afternoon, reportedly heard racial comments, and saw parents taking their kids out  of the pool after they had arrived.

Camp director Alethea Wright  said:

“A couple of the children ran down saying, ‘Miss Wright, Miss Wright, they’re up there saying, “What are those black kids doing here?”‘” she said.

The gated club is on a leafy hillside in a village that straddles two townships with overwhelmingly white populations. It says it has a diverse, multiethnic membership.

Wright said she went to talk to a group of members at the top of the hill and heard one woman say she would see to it that the group, made of up of children in kindergarten through seventh grade, did not return.

“Some of the members began pulling their children out of the pool and were standing around with their arms folded,” Wright said. “Only three members left their children in the pool with us.”

Several days later, the club refunded the camp’s $1,950 without explanation, said Wright, who added that parents are “weighing their options” on legal action

Sounds to me like they would have a pretty good case.

The Valley Club President says race was not a factor in their decision to turn the kids away:

Club president John Duesler told Philadelphia television station WTXF that several club members complained because the children “fundamentally changed the atmosphere” at the pool but that the complaints didn’t involve race.

In a statement released on its Web site Thursday afternoon, the club called the allegations of racial discrimination “completely untrue” and claimed overcrowding from more than one outside camp was the problem.

“We had originally agreed to invite the camps to use our facility, knowing full well that the children from the camps were from multiethnic backgrounds,” it said. “Unfortunately, we quickly learned that we underestimated the capacity of our facilities and realized that we could not accommodate the number of children from these camps.”

The club said it “deplores discrimination.”

“Whatever comments may or may not have been made by an individual member is an opinion not shared by The Valley Club Board,” it said.

How do you underestimate the capacity of your facilities so badly, that you have to turn away 65 kids?

As for the kids’ behavior at the pool…which I posited yesterday might have been a factor:

Amy Goldman said she’s been a member of the club for two years. She said the pool wasn’t particularly crowded and the children from Creative Steps were “well behaved and respectful.”

***

“I don’t believe everyone here has racist thoughts, but what was said was insulting and offensive,” said Lewis, who’s black.

Wright rejected the overcrowding explanation, saying the club covers 10 acres with a “nice-sized” pool and a separate pool for younger children. The board, she said, knew that her group included 65 children, and none of them had misbehaved.

“We were not welcome, once the members saw who we were,” she said.

The Valley Swim Club owes those kids an apology, and a free pass for the rest of the summer, but the Creative Steps Camp has found another place for the kids. They no longer want to swim at the Valley Club, anyway. Who can blame them after this disgraceful episode?

Cap And Tax Would Fund ACORN?

Why not?  Every major spending bill passed by the Dems so far this year has been a major boon for ACORN, so why should this one be any different? Jamie Dupree has been going over the bill with a fine toothed comb, and says the term, “community development corporation” is found  a bunch of times in it.

“The American people will see tax dollars go to so-called community development organizations like ACORN, to teach low-income residents how to live in accord with the worldview of the Environmental Left,” scowled a news release yesterday from Congressional critics of the Cap and Trade bill.

Sure enough, there are 19 mentions of the term “community development” in the bill, but nothing specific about ACORN.

Sec. 264 of the bill is on “Low Income Community Energy Efficiency Program,” which says the feds will dole out grant money to community development organizations “to provide financing to businesses and projects that improve energy efficiency” for low-income residents.

On page 561, the bill authorizes $50 million per year for six fiscal years, so that’s $300 million in all for these kind of programs.

“I just want to know if ACORN would qualify for these grants,” said House GOP Leader John Boehner, who was the only Republican to note the ACORN issue during debate on the House floor.

Obama’s “Curiously Close Relationeship” With The SEIU And The Blago Federal Probe

It was reported in the Chicago Trib, yesterday that John Harris,  chief of staff to former IL Gov. Rod Blagojevich is singing to federal prosecuters:

John Harris, the last chief of staff to former Gov. Rod Blagojevich, pleaded guilty today to a single count of wire fraud in federal court — and agreed to cooperate in the federal probe against his former boss in return for a recommended prison term of just under 3 years.

Harris was accused of aiding some of the former governor’s efforts to leverage the powers of his office in exchange for favors and campaign contributions.  Among the accusations against Blagojevich is that he attempted to sell the U.S. Senate seat vacated by President Barack Obama.

Here’s where the SEIU comes in:

In reading a summary of Harris’ plea agreement, (Assistant U.S. Atty. Carrie) Hamilton alleged that Blagojevich met with an official from the Service Employees International Union — a person he understood to be an emissary working on behalf of Obama — hoping to get something for himself in exchange for appointing the right candidate to fill the Senate seat.

Blagojevich was hopeful that by naming a person identified only as “Senate Candidate B” — previously disclosed to be Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett — he could secure an appointment to become secretary of the U.S. Department Health and Human Services, according to the plea agreement.

Blagojevich also was interested in a possible job at a private foundation in exchange for naming Jarrett and asked Harris to look into it.

Obama has “emissaries from the SEIU”? Involved in pay to play schemes with corrupt governors?

You might remember a couple of weeks ago, the article in the LA Times, Obama’s Curiously Close Labor Friendship, signaling an increasing awareness in the media that something is not quite right about Obama’s relationship with the SEIU.

Stay tuned.

Wrong! Wrong! Wrong!

What the heck?! This story reads like something out of Birmingham Alabama circa 1958:

More than 60 campers from Northeast Philadelphia were turned away from a private swim club and left to wonder if their race was the reason.

I heard this lady, she was like, ‘Uh, what are all these black kids doing here?’ She’s like, ‘I’m scared they might do something to my child,’” said camper Dymire Baylor.

Well, if that kid’s telling the truth, I’d say, yeah, duh! Race was the reason.

The Creative Steps Day Camp paid more than $1900 to The Valley Swim Club. The Valley Swim Club is a private club that advertises open membership. But the campers’ first visit to the pool suggested otherwise.

“When the minority children got in the pool all of the Caucasian children immediately exited the pool,” Horace Gibson, parent of a day camp child, wrote in an email. “The pool attendants came and told the black children that they did not allow minorities in the club and needed the children to leave immediately.”

What are those parents teaching those children..that they would do that?  Those black  parents should be outraged…this is an outrageous story…they don’t allow minorities? Disgraceful.

“They just kicked us out. And we were about to go. Had our swim things and everything,” said camper Simer Burwell.

The explanation they got was either dishearteningly honest or poorly worded.

“There was concern that a lot of kids would change the complexion … and the atmosphere of the club,” John Duesler, President of The Valley Swim Club said in a statement.

What kind of oaf would say such a thing? Seriously? I honestly didn’t think crap like this still goes on…and in a liberal area like Philly, in the deep blue state of PA, no less.

UPDATE:

Irony of ironies: Captain Ed has video, and some information on Valley Swim Club president John Duesler, who made the “complexion” statement. It turns out that he has the same name as the man who ran the O-Positive Obama campaign blood drive in Philly before Barack Obama’s inauguration.

UPDATE II:

Internet detective, Ginger says it’s likely that John Duesler who ran the O-Positive Obama blood drive was probably the son of the Swim Club President.

A couple more things…

A commenter notes that something about this story doesn’t ring true…wouldn’t people who harbor such disgusting attitudes hide them out of fear of legal retribution? That’s a good point, and something I considered.

The story was written from the standpoint of the blacks who were interviewed, but what if they weren’t being strictly honest about what happened? If  the pool attendants didn’t really say that no blacks were allowed at the club that is a scurrilous charge to make. Did the reporter from the Philadelphia News bother to ask Duesler if that was true? If it is true, that is an outrageous thing, this day and age.

Also, as I said in the comments, one thing that has gone unreported is the kids’ behavior when they entered the pool…were they excessively raucous and rowdy? That could be…and that may be why the white kids got out. There are cultural differences that may have been at play.

Report: Sunday’s Violence In Honduras Orchestrated By Chavez

The Honduran newspaper, El Heraldo reported on Wednesday that Chavez influenced the mob at the airport on Sunday. Here is the translation of the report, “Chavez planned a slaughter in Honduras” supplied by a commenter at Honduras Abandoned:

Chavez planned a slaughter in Honduras
The goal, on Sunday July 5, was to cause a massacre and create martyrs.

(News agency) AFP captured the moment when Hugo Chávez, from his office, coordinated the military operation that took Manuel Zelaya Rosales to Honduras, in a flagrant violation of Honduran airspace.

However, rather than seeing a former military coup leader pointing to his Panasonic TV and applauding the “feat” Zelaya Rosales, which was transmitted live by the Telesur network, to the experts in political and security issues what caught their attention was the message written on the whiteboard that could be a clear demonstration that the goal was to cause a slaughter in the event.

Almost in line with the intentions revealed in the writing on the whiteboard, Zelaya Rosales requested through satellite communication from the aircraft that people invade the landing strip and remove the obstacles that the military had placed.

The people attempted to break through; however, the action was suppressed by military and police forces that, according to the commissioner of Human Rights, used a volley of rubber bullets.

The text message on the whiteboard of Chavez says: 051345JUL09 A swarm of African bees, Presidential Podium, wounded by bites and desperation of the people.

Mario Berrios, a lawyer and analyst on political and security issues, says that this is a message written in military language.

The writing 051345JUL09 according to Berríos is what in military doctrine is called group-date-time.

This message reveals the day (05), month (July), year (2009) and time (1:45 in the afternoon), which was precisely the time that the demonstration was pushing into the policemen in the vicinity Camosa, feeling that the security rings were inadequate to retain them and prevent their approach into the airport Toncontín.

Video: Peter King Stands By His Words On O’Reilly

You can say one thing about the Youtube video where NY GOP Rep. Peter King calls Michael Jackson a “low life” and a “pervert”, you either love it or you hate it. Chances are, if you read this blog…you love it. But rabid Michael Jackson fans and assorted moonbats were  outraged by the straight talk, and one major lib blog even set up a fund to unseat King…which has garnered a whopping $75.00 so far, according to Michelle Malkin.

Peter King appeared on The O’Reilly Factor tonight, to defend his words:

And here’s Al Sharpton trying but failing epically to convince us that there was ‘nothing strange about Michael Jackson’ . That sets the tone for his weak attack on Peter King.:

On the question of Michael Jackson’s supposed “black icon” status, the fact that Jackson had artificially inseminated white kids is a valid point, but I don’t know why O’Reilly didn’t make the more obvious point, namely: HOW THE HECK CAN YOU CALL THE MAN A BLACK ICON WHEN HE BLEACHED HIS SKIN WHITER THAN EDGAR WINTERS‘?

And finally Bernard Goldberg comments on the “wound that never seems to heal”.

Obama Lauds The Russians For Ending The Cold War

When will this will this mortifying carnival of  Obamanations on foreign soil end? Whether he’s in the Middle East, Latin America, or now what some suspect is his ideological homeland, Mother Russia, Obama can’t help downplaying his own country’s proud history and record of achievements, and seems to delight in throwing past Presidents (esp. Bush) under the bus. Major Garrett asked him about his speech to the Russians, in this interview, rebroadcast on Hannity’s America:

Here is the Lech Walesa WSJ article cited by Hannity at the end of the video:

When talking about Ronald Reagan, I have to be personal. We in Poland took him so personally. Why? Because we owe him our liberty. This can’t be said often enough by people who lived under oppression for half a century, until communism fell in 1989.

Poles fought for their freedom for so many years that they hold in special esteem those who backed them in their struggle. Support was the test of friendship. President Reagan was such a friend. His policy of aiding democratic movements in Central and Eastern Europe in the dark days of the Cold War meant a lot to us. We knew he believed in a few simple principles such as human rights, democracy and civil society. He was someone who was convinced that the citizen is not for the state, but vice-versa, and that freedom is an innate right.

I often wondered why Ronald Reagan did this, taking the risks he did, in supporting us at Solidarity, as well as dissident movements in other countries behind the Iron Curtain, while pushing a defense buildup that pushed the Soviet economy over the brink. Let’s remember that it was a time of recession in the U.S. and a time when the American public was more interested in their own domestic affairs. It took a leader with a vision to convince them that there are greater things worth fighting for. Did he seek any profit in such a policy? Though our freedom movements were in line with the foreign policy of the United States, I doubt it.

I distinguish between two kinds of politicians. There are those who view politics as a tactical game, a game in which they do not reveal any individuality, in which they lose their own face.

Does that describe anyone we know?

There are, however, leaders for whom politics is a means of defending and furthering values. For them, it is a moral pursuit. They do so because the values they cherish are endangered. They’re convinced that there are values worth living for, and even values worth dying for. Otherwise they would consider their life and work pointless. Only such politicians are great politicians and Ronald Reagan was one of them.

Dare I say…GW Bush was another one of them:

There will never, ever be such an outpouring of appreciation for Obama from someone who has been given the chance of freedom because of his actions, because that will never happen. As we’ve seen in Iran and Honduras, Obama doesn’t work in defense of Liberty and self government, but on behalf of tyrants and dictators for tactical gains that benefit his Statist “new world order”. Obama, lefties will tell you, is a ‘chess player’, with nuanced, sophisticated, strategies mere mortals like us can never understand.

Unfortunately, he’s too busy plotting his next move, to concern himself with petty concepts like the “rule of law”, “freedom” and “democracy”.

UPDATE:

Via Brutally Honest, we find that the much maligned GW  Bush has  received some heart felt praise from Putin in a birthday greeting:

Putin Praises Bush

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia’s Prime Minister Vladimir Putin praised the hospitality and openness of U.S. former President George W. Bush in a telegramme sent hours before meeting his successor Barack Obama.

“During the last years we have been working on strengthening Russia-U.S. cooperation. Although there were differences between our countries, I always valued your openness and sincerity,” Putin said, congratulating Bush on his 63rd birthday on July 6.

“With special warmth I recall your hospitality in the Crawford ranch and your family estate in Kennebunkport,” Putin wrote, referring to their 2007 meeting at the Bush family vacation home when the two leaders went fishing and ate lobster.

Time to push that “reset button”!

Photoshop:ManBearPig As Churchill

First of all, as any experienced veteran of internet debates will tell you, according to Godwin’s law, the debate on global warming must be nearly over, and Al Gore has lost, because of this latest outburst in England, so that’s good news…

But the bad news is, he has set himself up as some sort of ‘green’ Winston Churchill, which is beyond disturbing:

algore-churchill

TimesOnline reports:

Al Gore invoked the spirit of Winston Churchill yesterday when he urged political leaders to follow the example of Britain’s wartime leader in the battle against climate change.

The former US Vice-President accused governments around the world of exploiting ignorance about the dangers of global warming to avoid taking difficult decisions.

Speaking in Oxford at the Smith School World Forum on Enterprise and the Environment, sponsored by The Times, Mr Gore said: “Winston Churchill aroused this nation in heroic fashion to save civilisation in World War Two. We have everything we need except political will, but political will is a renewable resource.”

Mr Gore admitted that it was difficult to persuade the public that the threat from climate change was as urgent as that from Hitler.

“The level of awareness and concern among populations has not crossed the threshold where political leaders feel that they must change,” he said. “The only way politicians will act is if awareness raises to a level to make them feel that it’s a necessity.”

Actually, I think that the level of awareness is increasing…but not in the direction Al Gore would like…People are becoming increasingly aware that he’s full of crap, but that ‘s okay, if Cap and Tax passes, he’ll  be too rich to care about it.

Saying Farewell To Some American Heros

Here’s a tribute to our military fallen for the week ending June 13, 2009:

There was no all star guest list for Staff Sgt. Beale’s funeral, but my friend Reeko of the GI Woodshop passed this information along:

Nowadays, one can be led to believe that Americans, (outside of the military) no longer respect honor, or honor sacrifice.Let it be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City, Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia.

A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

The link above below is a short travelogue of that day’s remarkable and painful journey.

Watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in the American people restored.

UPDATE:

It seems the Army has promoted John Beale to Sergeant First Class (E7) according to the DoD press release:

Michelle Malkin paid tribute, yesterday,  to another soldier, who was killed in Afghanistan over the weekend.
