Jim Moran, Howard Dean Face Town Hall Skeptics

Oh lordy, it was torch and pitchfork time last night, at Jim Moran’s town hall in Reston, VA. He was immediately met with jeers and catcalls when he mentioned the “public option”, and it went downhill from there:
Yes, that’s Howard Dean sitting there, reticently.
You have to like his opening comment, but again, not a warm reception for him, either, even with half the audience astroturf:
I think at this point, these town halls have outlived their purpose. These Dems go out and repeat the official talking points, (read lies), and they expect the audience to sit there, quietly and respectfully with their hands on their laps.. But when people see what the Dems are doing as an existential threat, they refuse to “go along to get along”. Their voices will be heard.

A caller to the Rush Limbaugh Show says that the audience was more like an 80/20 split – Astroturf to Protesters. Obviously, the passion was on the protest side.

I was there last night and I can tell you, it was 80/20 but the passion was NOT on the side of the “protestors”. Unless by protestors you mean people wanting reform. I like how you say Howard Dean didn’t get a good welcome but decide not comment on the fact that the main reason he didn’t was because of a right wing nut pro-life nut job, whose sole purpose was to DISRUPT THE ENTIRE TOWN HALL with his goons. I am not “astroturf” as you call it, the majority of people that were there FOR public option were there because they had, like me, seen enough of these neanderthal asshats yelling and saying anything they disagree with is a lie, even when facts are thrown in their face. That point was proven to me about the third time the SAME question was asked to Jim Moran, he had already answered it twice before that but these people couldn’t come up with a REAL question besides trying to just throw mud at the wall and see if it stuck. FACE IT, YOU’RE A PARTISAN HACK.

So Josh, why do think neither Moran, nor any of the other Dems, including Obama will tell us that the public (government) option is designed to destroy private insurance, and lead to single payer? Is this something you know, and you’re just going along with the lies, or are you a useful idiot? I’m serious. Why do you think the government should be trusted with your health care?
Were you holding a pre-printed sign? Who gave it to you?
Why do you think after seeing that video, you can say with any credibility that the passion was on your side?

Congress has a14% approval rating and Obama’s I guess is around 47%. About 80% of Americans are at least satisfied with their health care choices. Based on approval ratings I think the insurance companies win.
