Latest Democrat To Hint That Democrats Will Pass ObamaCare Without Republicans

Jan (This is not a principled fight)  Schakowsky (D-Ill.)

The Hill:

“I think that at some point everyone’s going to see that the Republicans simply are not going to agree to any kind of healthcare reform that the insurance industry isn’t supporting and that, reluctantly, we’re going to have to do it without them,” said Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.).

“If we have to, we will,” said Schakowsky, a chief deputy whip and the chairwoman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus’s healthcare task force.

The truth is, the Republicans could agree to health care reform; in fact they’ve proposed three health care reform bills of their own, this year.

They’re just not on board with this:

You would think, after being caught on tape saying those things,  this year on April 18, Schakowsky would be keeping a lower profile on the health care debate in Washington.

Don Surber makes the obvious point:

There is a juvenile quality to this go-it-alone drama.

Democrats have a 60-40 majority in the Senate.

Democrats have a 256-178 majority in the House.

They have the votes.

Why not just do it?

Video: Glenn Beck’s Expose Of Obama’s Communist Green Czar, Van Jones (UPDATED)

Hey, you moderates who voted for Obama…is this the sort of hope and change you had in mind? Commies in the White House, answerable only to Obama?:

UPDATE:

Via Don Surber, according to the The LA Times:

The group that organized the advertising boycott of the Glenn Beck show?  Color of Change , co-founded by non other than Van Jones.

“Fox News host Glenn Beck used his popular show Monday to attack the background of Van Jones, a White House environmental adviser and co-founder of an African American political advocacy group that organized an advertising boycott of his program.”

***

Beck’s assault on Jones came as Color of Change announced that it had secured commitments from 36 companies who pledged not to advertise on Beck’s program, including Wal-Mart and Sprint.

A complete list of Obama’s 44 czars  can be found here.

Positions being planned:

  1. Income redistribution czar
  2. Land-use czar
  3. Mortgage czar, formally “consumer financial protection czar” (source)
  4. Radio-internet fairness czar
  5. Student loan czar, to oversee a program of mandatory service in return for college money (source)
  6. Voter list czar
  7. Zoning czar

The New York Times recently brought to our attention to the fact  that Obama has filled only 43 percent of the 543 policy making jobs in his first seven months.

Some speculate that the reason  for  this  is because he’d rather skip the vetting  processes and empower these Czars:

some with ethical clouds, all undermining the Senate’s constitutional role advice and consent.

Alarmed?

I suspect most of the people reading this blog are. We should be. We need to be, so we can continue to be motivated enough to  fight this.

And we need to be armed with the knowledge of what we are up against.

Read: Obama: The Cloward-Piven Strategy & Alinsky Power Tactics

Obama’s whole campaign was built on platitudes. He’s still speaking in platitudes, as though his very presence will make magic happen. With broad platitudes, congressional power and a flurry of legislative initiatives, Barry is seeking to place his socialist footprint in practically every move he makes. And, you need to understand the tactics.

All politicians are temporary stewards of this nation. It is not their task however to remake the founding of this country. It is not their task to tear it apart and rebuild it in their image. Barry thinks otherwise. Almost daily, Barry is playing politics with policy.

He has all these dreams and visions of a utopia. And, even with soft GOP opposition, it won’t happen. But the president has too steep a learning curve facing him, and his performance so far makes it clear that he doesn’t take direction, suggestion or education well.

Read the whole thing, it’s long, but well worth your time.

Another must read from David Horowitz also deals with Cloward-Piven Strategy:

Obama’s Communist Advisor and His Billion-Dollar Army

I’m in NY where I’ll be headed to the Fox studios in a few hours to tape the “Glenn Beck Show.” The segment I’m doing will be aired Thursday as part of a week-long series called “The New Republic,” which is Glenn’s look at the radical agendas of the Obama Administration. Last night, with Pat Caddell as his guest, Glenn made the connection between the trillion-dollar defcits Obama is deliberately running up and the Cloward-Piven strategy devised by two Columbia radicals to bankrupt the welfare system in New York in order to create a crisis that would generate radical change.

Although the show failed to mention it, this was a strategy first identified in a book I wrote a couple of years ago with Richard Poe called The Shadow Party. That book described the coalition of Communist and anarchist radicals, Democratic Party honchos, and multi-billionaires that the malevolent George Soros put together before the 2004 presidential campaign. The Shadow Party is now the party in power and running the show.

Chuck Norris zeros in on the part of the health care bill that deals with government intrusion in child rearing.

Dirty Secret No. 1 in Obamacare

Dirty secret No. 1 in Obamacare is about the government’s coming into homes and usurping parental rights over child care and development.

It’s outlined in sections 440 and 1904 of the House bill (Page 838), under the heading “home visitation programs for families with young children and families expecting children.” The programs (provided via grants to states) would educate parents on child behavior and parenting skills.

The bill says that the government agents, “well-trained and competent staff,” would “provide parents with knowledge of age-appropriate child development in cognitive, language, social, emotional, and motor domains … modeling, consulting, and coaching on parenting practices,” and “skills to interact with their child to enhance age-appropriate development.”

Are you kidding me?! With whose parental principles and values? Their own? Certain experts’? From what field and theory of childhood development? As if there are one-size-fits-all parenting techniques! Do we really believe they would contextualize and personalize every form of parenting in their education, or would they merely universally indoctrinate with their own?

As Hedrick would say, “STAY AWAY FROM OUR CHILDREN!”

Oh Yeah, Despite Obama’s Repeated Assertions to the Contrary, ObamaCare Would Finance Abortions

I forgot to mention Obama’s abortion claim in my post about Obama’s desperate and cynical conference call to religious leaders August 19; the one where he accused his opponents of “bearing false witness” and of “divisive and deceptive attacks”.

The Washington Times opines:

A number of the president’s counterclaims were dubious, but his most demonstrably false statement was: “You’ve heard that this is all going to mean government funding of abortion. Not true.”

That’s not what Associated Press reports. On Aug. 5, an AP story was headlined “Gov’t insurance would allow coverage for abortion.” There’s no wiggle room in that headline – or in the legislation. As AP reported: “Since abortion is a legal medical procedure, experts on both sides say not mentioning it would allow health care plans in the new insurance exchange to provide unrestricted coverage…. In the Senate, the plan passed by the health committee is still largely silent on the abortion issue. Staff aides confirmed that the public plan — and private insurance offered in the exchange — would be allowed to cover abortion, without funding restrictions…. Abortion opponents are seeking a prohibition against using any federal subsidies to pay for abortions or for any part of any costs of a health plan that offers abortion. Such a proposal was rejected by the House Energy and Commerce Committee.”

House and Senate sponsors defeated a total of seven different attempts, in four committees, to restrict the use of federal funds for abortions. In the House, an amendment successfully sponsored by Rep. Lois Capps, California Democrat, specifically provides for abortion coverage. For instance, Section 4 (B) reads as follows: “Abortions for Which Public Funding Is Allowed. — The services described in this subparagraph are abortions for which the expenditure of Federal funds appropriated for the Department of Health and Human Services is permitted. . ..”

Keep reading. Bottom line. Obama’s lying while accusing ObamaCare opponents of  “bearing false witness”…the man has no shame. But, once again,  what else can you conclude about a guy who would tell the Pope to his face, that  “he would like to reduce the number of abortions in the United States” while promoting a plan that could create the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade?!

That really floors me.

At War with the Public

by Jennifer Rubin

After weeks of this and a mound of polling data to confirm what we are seeing and hearing, the president has yet to acknowledge that he hears what citizens are saying or understands the need to rethink health-care reform. He persists in decrying “misinformation”—implying that voters are dim and have been duped by nefarious forces. It is a politically dangerous place for a president to be—defaming voters and ignoring their pleas. It is one thing to go to war with the opposition party but quite another to go to war with voters. In his hubris, Obama has forgotten who is in charge.

Obama’s Plan To Dissociate 9/11 From Republicans And Turn It Into A Day Of Radical Community Organizing

Prepare to be shocked and disgusted.

Matthew Vadim, The American Spectator reports:

Obama’s Plan to Desecrate 9/11

The Obama White House is behind a cynical, coldly calculated political effort to erase the meaning of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks from the American psyche and convert Sept. 11 into a day of leftist celebration and statist idolatry.

This effort to reshape the American psyche has nothing to do with healing the nation and everything to do with easing the nation along in the ongoing radical transformation of America that President Obama promised during last year’s election campaign. The president signed into law a measure in April that designated Sept. 11 as a National Day of Service, but it’s not likely many lawmakers thought this meant that day was going to be turned into a celebration of ethanol, carbon emission controls, and radical community organizing.

Wait ’til you hear who is heading up this cause:

The administration’s plans were outlined in an Aug. 11 White House-sponsored teleconference call run by Obama ally Lennox Yearwood, president of the Hip Hop Caucus, and Liv Havstad, the group’s senior vice president of strategic partnerships and programs.

Yearwood, who uses the honorific “Reverend” before his name, has been in the news in recent years, usually for getting arrested. After Democrats took back Congress, the rowdy activist was handcuffed outside a congressional hearing in September 2007 when Gen. David Petraeus was to testify. Yearwood told the “Democracy Now” radio program that he wanted to attend the hearing to hear Petraeus give his report. “I knew that when officers lie, soldiers die,” he said.

Who was in on the conference call, you ask?

A coalition including the unsavory left-wing pressure group Color of Change and about 60 far-left, environmentalist, labor, and corporate shakedown groups participated in the call. Groups on the call included: ACORN, AFL-CIO, Apollo Alliance, Community Action Partnership, Deep South Center for Environmental Justice, 80 Million Strong for Young American Jobs, Friends of the Earth, Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, Mobilize.org, National Black Police Association, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation, National Council of Negro Women, National Wildlife Federation, RainbowPUSH Coalition, Urban League, and Young Democrats of America.

Obama did famously promise ACORN and friends in Dec. 07, that he would let them help him shape his Presidential agenda.

That should have set off some warning bells…it did for me, anyway.

The Color of Change’s Van Jones, the self-described “communist” and “rowdy black nationalist”  who  became Obama’s green jobs czar, gushed that the National Day of Service will be a great opportunity “for people to connect, to find other people in your peer group who are also passionate about repowering America but also greening up America and cleaning up America.”

What any of that has to do with 9/11 is anyone’s guess.

The Lord Detests The Proud Of Heart. Be Sure Of This: They Will Not Go Unpunished.

I’m sure the President had every reason in the world to believe that the press would not call him out on such blatant lies as “If you like your current plan, you’ll be able to keep it.”  or “I have never said I was for a single payer plan.”  And true to form, this has largely been the case.  They have been far to busy filling the airwaves and print columns with their “expressions of concern” about the people who were showing up at town hall meetings with their elected officials and expressing their outrage that they would even consider foisting this crap sandwich down our throats.  It was was too easy to take administration officials and some members of Congress at their word that these righteously pissed citizens were actually shills for big drug companies and insurance companies, rather than people who actually took time to read the bill and and realize that it was not what was being promised.  And a strange thing happened.  The people being targeted were not deterred.

Francis W. Porretto:

False Witness: A Screed-Rumination “Twofer”

As a child in Indonesia, Barack Hussein Obama was educated as a Muslim. Whatever shifts in religious allegiance he may have made later in life — and we should remember that an aspiring politician will often make such a shift to increase his political palatability — that fact is indisputable. And this fact is equally indisputable: It is Islamic doctrine, written into the Qu’ran and reinforced by various ahadith, that lying to an “infidel” in service to Allah, to Islam, or to fellow Muslims is morally licit, in certain circumstances obligatory.

Combine that bit of Islamic teaching with left-liberal politicians’ characteristic readiness to deceive us benighted ones in service to “the greater good.” Then stir in the enormous self-importance of Barack Hussein “I Won” Obama. What do you get?

Do you get the sense that Obama, a supposed Christian, takes seriously the Eighth Commandment’s proscription of false witness, or that he lives by the spirit of the Second Great Commandment, which stands behind the majority of the original Ten?

Do you get an assurance that Obama, committed by his own words to transparency in government, would never dream of emitting a falsehood from behind the Great Seal of the United States?

Do you imagine that Obama, who has openly stated his desire for a “single-payer” health insurance system in the United States, who becomes enraged at challenges to his statements, and who has dispatched union goons to suppress protests against the Democrats’ health-care ambitions, can be trusted on this or any lesser subject?

No, I don’t either.

The Herding

Here’s what the actual policies of this administration are–and yes, there are only two real ones: to foment chaos—the type of chaos which would require a little-s savior—and to reduce escape options.  And the subsequent policies of that savior–the ones not yet evident; the ones which we can only guess at–will indeed stop the chaos from progressing.

While we don’t know what these policies are yet, there is one thing that we can be pretty sure about: this savior’s yet-unknown policies would clamp down on big-L Liberty so tightly that none of us would recognize the United States in which we live at present. At that leads us to the raison d’etre, the ultimate goal: the seizure of absolute power. And that is the objective, the long-term goal. All else is secondary.

Video:Chris Wallace Interviews Jim Towey On Death Pamphlet For Veterans

Sunday, on Fox, Chris Wallace interviewed Jim Towey, the former director of President Bush’s White House Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives about the VA re-implemented pamphlet: “Your Life – Your Choice“.

Towey, an attorney  has worked on end-of-life issues and served as legal counsel to none other than Mother Teresa.

A sane person should have been able to discern an informed, morally grounded man making those arguments.

Read what the morally confused commenters at Youtube had to say:

o love that these chicken hawks have the nerve to bitch about a questionnaire for vets. the vets have the option of choosing their answer…its not forced on them.
“The VA is trying to find out how it’s members feel”
“outrageous!”
facepalm

I love how fox news (owned by Murdoch) refers to a wall street journel article (owned by Murdoch) to aid in their propaganda.
what’s sad is that there are some highly educated people in this country that actually believe this crap… well yet again a lot of these people believe in religion too…

Disgusting! Jim Towey was part of a White House that fed the people fear in propoganda and this is ongoing. Stop the madness. Faux News spreads lies and chaos.

Chris Wallace is a horrible broadcaster who engages this Partisan Rhetoric…Remember, this is the putz who stood so hard against Clinton because Clinton got his stick wet. Sexually frustrated, confused Chris Wallace should go back to sleep.

My personal favorite:

is the news not regulated in the U.S?
in the UK the news is regulated by a watchdog and has to be impartial and there is heavy penalties for lies!

freedom of speech… yeah well if there were penalties fox would be shut down…

yeah, we have freedom of speech over here, and we have panel shows where anyone can say anything but we have news regulated to stop lies and mis-information.

all fox do is propaganda

It’s amazing how the “all propaganda” network is blowing away all the competition.
Also amazing…and scary – these liberal fascists actually pine for more government control over the media, and the elimination of conservative voices.
Later on Chris Wallace interviewed the VA’s Tammy Duckworth. That interview didn’t go quite as smoothly:

I have respect and  appreciation for her for her service, and sacrifice, but wow, didn’t she seem to be dissembling, there?
Somehow, I suspect our YouTube truth brigade would fail to see it.

UPDATE:

Michelle Said Barack Would Move Us Out Of Our Comfort Zones….And She Was Right!

Remember this odd line from Michelle Obama, last year?:

Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you . . .  move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.

Dang if she wasn’t right.

I found myself  before a microphone in front of 500 people at a town hall a couple weeks ago, something I could never have imagined two years ago. And I’ve joined thousands of others as they have taken to the streets with home made signs to protest the direction the country is going in – another thing I could never have imagined myself doing, until recently.

By now, many, perhaps most all of you have seen this highly satisfying video from a town hall in Washington state ,with an angry former Marine confronting congressman Brian “Brownshirts” Baird. Watch and savor it again:

Here’s what the star of the video said on his YouTube page:

I, David William Hedrick, a member of the silent majority, decided that I was not going to be silent anymore. So, I let U.S. Congressman Brian Baird have it. I was one questioner out of 38, that was called at random from an audience that started at 3,000 earlier in the evening. Not expecting to be called on, I quickly scratched what I wanted to say on a borrowed piece of paper and with a pen that I borrowed from someone else in the audience minutes before I spoke. So much for the planned talking points of the right wing conspiracy.

There are literally millions of people like Hendrick out there, who have been roused from complacency into action.

John Goodman from the WSJ explains the phenomenon:

Why are they so angry? The reasons are manifold, but the single biggest reason is the arrogance of our elected officials in Washington. Think about it. For the past seven months a small group of politicians has been meeting behind-closed-doors with powerful special interests to decide whether you will be able to keep your current insurance, where you will be directed to get new insurance and at what price, what fines you and your employer will have to pay if you don’t conform, and how they’re going to get your doctor to change the way he or she practices medicine. In the process, they never asked you what you thought about anything. If you are not mad about this, odds are you don’t understand the situation.

Those of us who do, have found ways to voice our concerns in ways heretofore unthought of.

As Howard Portnoy noted in the Greenroom:

If there’s one thing you can count on it’s that history will brand Barack Obama as “the popular-involvement president.”

Very very true. Michelle hit that one out of the park.

Grassroots conservatism has finally fielded a group of freedom fighters, and it’s about time.

Obama Aims To Clear Up “Misinformation” In Weekly Address

Another shoot and  miss:

I’m glad he’s so appreciative of the “vigorous debate” we’re now able to have, after he tried but failed to ram the obamanation through congress before the August recess.

As with Allahpundit, this was my favorite part, too:

We’ve all heard the charge that reform will somehow bring about a government takeover of health care. I know that sounds scary to many folks. It sounds scary to me, too. But here’s the thing: it’s not true. I no sooner want government to get between you and your doctor than I want insurance companies to make arbitrary decisions about what medical care is best for you, as they do today. As I’ve said from the beginning, under the reform we seek, if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your private health insurance plan, you can keep your plan. Period.

A government takeover of health care {{{sounds scary}}} to Obama?  What stupid and gullible schmucks he must think we are! This is the man who has said on many occasions, and at least a couple of times captured on tape, that he is a proponent of a single payer health care system. That is a government controlled health care system, for those of you new to the debate.  Tell me why we should believe a single thing this man tells us?!

I no sooner want government to get between you and your doctor than I want insurance companies to make arbitrary decisions about what medical care is best for you, as they do today

He said he didn’t want run the the automotive industry, either, and yet it happened.

As for the offensive talk about “death panels”:

The truth is: Call it what you want, but  ObamaCare would let government bureaucrats decide who gets medical care and who doesn’t.

I’ll let physician, Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) take it away from here:
