Eyewitness Provides Disturbing Details About Obama’s Montana Townhall

Okay, I’m posting this, even though it’s one of those email chain letters that could be all wet. But it rings true, I’ll let you decide:

Well folks, I just received the following via email from my cousin’s wife. She sent it to all on her mail list. They live in Bozeman, Montana. The only thing I’ve changed in the email is my cousin’s name, for the sake of privacy. My cousin was a Navy pilot. He then flew commercial jets until his retirement. He still flies his own plane and is very involved with the airport operations near their home. He is one of the most patriotic people I know, AND both he and his wife hold themselves to the highest standards of integrity. The following email describes their experience at Obama’s “town hall” meeting in Montana.

Hello All,

By now you have probably heard that President Obama came to Montana last Friday. However, there are many things that the major news has not covered. I feel that since Joe and I live here and we were at the airport on Friday I should share some facts with you. Whatever you decide to do with the information is up to you. If you chose to share this email with others I do ask that you DELETE my email address before you forward this on.

On Wednesday, August 5th it was announced locally that the President would be coming here. There are many groups here that are against his healthcare and huge spending so those groups began talking and deciding on what they were going to do. The White House would not release ANY details other than the date.

On about Tuesday Joe found out that they would be holding the “Town Hall” at the airport. (This is only because Joe knows EVERYONE at the airport) Our airport is actually located outside of Belgrade (tiny town) in a very remote location. Nothing is around there. They chose to use a hangar that is the most remotely located hangar. You could not pick a more remote location, and you can not get to it easily. It is totally secluded from the public.
FYI: We have many areas in Belgrade and Bozeman which could have held a large amount of folks with sufficient parking. (gymnasiums/auditoriums). All of which have chairs and tables, and would not have to be SHIPPED IN!! $$$$$
During the week, cargo by the TONS was being shipped in constantly. Airport employees could not believe how it just kept coming. Though it was our President coming several expressed how excessive it was, especially during a recession. $$$$$

Late Tuesday/early Wednesday the 12th, they said that tickets would be handed out on Thursday 9am at two locations and the president would be arriving around 12:30 Friday.

Thursday morning about 600 tickets were passed out. However, 1500 were printed at a Local printing shop per White House request. Hmmmm……900 tickets just DISAPPEARED.
This same morning someone called into the radio from the local UPS branch and said that THOUSANDS of Dollars of Lobster were shipped in for Obama. Montana has some of the best beef in the nation!!! And it would have been really wonderful to help out the local economy. Anyone heard of the Recession?? Just think…with all of the traveling the White House is doing. $$$$$ One can only imagine what else we are paying for.

On Friday Joe and I got out to the airport about 10:45am. The groups that wanted to protest Obama’s spending and healthcare had gotten a permit to protest and that area was roped off. But that was not to be. A large bus carrying SEIU (Service Employees International Union) members drove up onto the area (illegal)and unloaded right there. It was quite a commotion and there were specifically 2 SEIU men trying to make trouble and start a fight. Police did get involved and arrested the one man but they said they did not have the manpower to remove the SEIU crowd.

The SEIU crowd was very organized and young. About 99% were under the age of 30 and they were not locals! They had bullhorns and PROFESSIONALLY made signs. Some even wore preprinted T-shirts. Oh, and Planned Parenthood folks were with them…..professing abortion rights with their T-shirts and preprinted signs. (BTW, all these folks did have a permit to protest in ANOTHER area)

Those against healthcare/spending moved away from the SEIU crowd to avoid confrontation. They were orderly and respectful. Even though SEIU kept coming over and walking through, continuing to be very intimidating and aggressive at the direction of the one SEIU man.

I did find some video documentation of mostly young people with pre-printed signs chanting with a guy using a bullhorn at the protest:

It would have helped if the person videotaping had gotten some shots of the buses.

So we had Montana folks from ALL OVER the state with their homemade signs and their DOGS with homemade signs. We had cowboys, nurses, doctors you name it. There was even a guy from Texas who had been driving through. He found out about the occasion, went to the store, made a sign, and came to protest.

If you are wondering about the press…..Well, all of the major networks were over by that remote hangar I mentioned. They were conveniently parked on the other side of the buildings FAR away. None of these crowds were even visible to them. I have my doubts that they knew anything about the crowds.
We did have some local news media around us from this state and Idaho. Speaking of the local media…they were invited. However, all questions were to be turned into the White House in advance of the event. Wouldn’t want anyone to have to think off the top of their head.

It was very obvious that it was meant to be totally controlled by the White House. Everything was orchestrated down to the last detail to make it appear that Montana is just crazy for Obama and government healthcare. Even those people that talked about their insurance woes……..the White House called our local HRDC (Human Resource and Development Committee) and asked for names. Then the White House asked those folks to come. Smoke and mirrors…EVERYTHING was staged!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very dismayed about what I learned about our current White House. The amount of control and manipulation was unbelievable. I felt I was not living in the United States of America, more like the USSR!! I was physically nauseous. Joe and I have been around when Presidents or Heads of State visit. It has NEVER been like this. I am truly very frightened for our country. America needs your prayers and your voices. If you care about our country please get involved. Know the issues. And let Congress hear your voices again and again!! If they are willing to put forth so much effort to BULLY a small town one can only imagine what is going on in Washington DC. Scary!!

It’s interesting that for Obama’s visit, the Belgrade City Hall did not get any tickets, and no lottery was imposed as promised. Instead, Baucus and Tester operatives called all their local supporters to show up at 6:am, at which time they quickly handed out the tickets and left, not giving the general public a chance. And these are the people that we elected. If they can’t fairly and adequately hand out tickets to a Town Hall meeting, they certainly should not be entrusted to devise a new health care plan for our nation. Throw the bums out.

Obama Calls ObamaCare Proponents “God’s Partners”

I guess that would make ObamaCare opponents, along with the nasty, awful insurance companies….partners with {{{SATAN}}}!!!

In a cynical but typical Obama move, he appealed yesterday to the “faith community” in selling ObamaCare to the masses:

In a morning conference call with about 1000 rabbis from across the nation, Obama asked for aid: “I am going to need your help in accomplishing necessary reform,” the President told the group, according to Rabbi Jack Moline, who tweeted his way through the phoner.

“We are God’s partners in matters of life and death,” Obama went on to say, according to Moline’s real-time stream.

In a second call,Obama spoke to a group of 30 religious leaders on a live webcall:

“The one thing you all share is a moral conviction,” he told the audience, saying Americans deserved good health care.

He said a lot of people “are bearing false witness” by spreading misinformation about health care reform.

And he repeated: “If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan.” (*groan*)

Obama called the “death panels” argument spread by Sarah Palin “an extraordinary lie.”

The president called on religious leaders to “speak the truth” and help him spread the good word about health care reform.

At the end, Obama did not take any questions, and, with a simple “bye bye,” ended the call.

Yid with Lid did a great job fisking Obama’s words, and making the obvious point:

While the POTUS was correct that revising the health care system in America is a moral issue, the argument, is not as he claims whether we should reform health care, its how we should reform health care. His opponents don’t like Obama’s plan.

I’m taken aback by the religious pretenses: “…bearing false witness”, “God’s partners”, “spread the good word”.

Are these religious leaders actually taken in by that?

Are they able to discern who’s bearing “false witnes”?

I don’t know…maybe it’s just me, but … does it make your head want to explode when a guy who couldn’t even agree to stop the practice of infanticide in cases of botched abortions when he had repeated opportunities to do so, calls himself a partner with God?! A man who looked the Pope in the eyes and said, “he would like to reduce the number of abortions in the United States” while promoting a plan that could create the largest expansion of abortion since Roe v. Wade?!

President’s Words Opens Up Evangelical “Can of Worms”

When the President got on that Wednesday conference call sponsored by progressive and moderate faith leaders he said some of his critics are “bearing false witness”. Well it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that he’s definitely  referring (not exclusively) to people who are talking about these death panels and government funding of abortion.  Guess what? He’s talking about conservative Evangelical groups. When you come out on a FAITH conference call and use the words, “bearing false witness” that is a direct slap down of conservative Evangelical groups. You can debate the intention behind his words but it really doesn’t matter because it is really only how it is received that matters. In essence he was calling these Christian groups a bunch of liars. It’s a serious charge. By ratcheting up the rhetoric, the President just amped up the fight against him and opened up a can of worms.

Brody is absolutely right. Obama has insulted a large group of religious conservatives with that rhetoric, and this wouldn’t be the first time he’s done so. Every so often Obama shows his true colors. Remember that 1995 Chicago reader article, where  Obama shared his low opinion of “the Christian right”?:

“The right wing, the Christian right, has done a good job of building these organizations of accountability, much better than the left or progressive forces have. But it’s always easier to organize around intolerance, narrow-mindedness, and false nostalgia. And they also have hijacked the higher moral ground with this language of family values and moral responsibility.

At that time, he also expressed his belief in collectivism as opposed to individualism:

“In America,” Obama says, “we have this strong bias toward individual action. You know, we idolize the John Wayne hero who comes in to correct things with both guns blazing. But individual actions, individual dreams, are not sufficient. We must unite in collective action, build collective institutions and organizations.”

That right there should have set off some alarm bells.

Bearing false witness? Breaking the 9th Commandment? So his opponents are sinners. I’m trying to imagine the separation-of-church-and-state freakout if George Bush had taken this approach to arguing for one of his policies.

“I know there’s been a lot of misinformation in this debate and there are some folks out there who are frankly bearing false witness,” Obama said, invoking the frightening specter of the Ten Commandments.

On Team Righteous we have those who meet their moral obligations; on the other squad we must have the minions of Beelzebub — by which, of course, we mean, profit-driven child- killing, mob-inciting insurance companies.

So How’s That Swell Single Payer Health Care Working Out In Canada?

Oh, I don’t know….not so great?

The Vancouver Coastal Health Authority is planning to shut down nearly one-quarter of its operating rooms and cancel thousands of elective surgeries between Sept. 1 and March 31 in a bid to bridge a $90-million budget gap, NDP health critic Adrian Dix charged yesterday.

Mr. Dix, MLA for Vancouver-Kingsway, said documents leaked to him by “health authority sources” propose cutting 6,250 surgeries, about 24 per cent of all scheduled procedures, to the end of fiscal 2009-10.

“What they’re doing is deferring these surgeries until the next fiscal year to save money. It’s going to increase wait times for people, and thousands of medically necessary procedures won’t be performed,” he said.

The plan targets cataract operations, coronary bypasses, joint replacements, certain types of neurosurgery and a variety of elective procedures, Mr. Dix said.

At an average of $6,000 per surgery, he estimated the move will save the health authority more than $37-million.

However, the VCHA’s senior media relations officer, Anna Marie D’Angelo, described the proposal as “a planning document that outlined one possible approach we might be looking at.”

“No decision has been made to implement it … so it’s inappropriate to say it’s a done deal,” Ms. D’Angelo said. “It’s certainly not going to be implemented any time soon.”

While the organization’s $90-million deficit is “significant,” Ms. D’Angelo said it’s manageable in the context of the VCHA’s $2.9-billion annual budget.

Last month, health authority officials announced plans to save about $600,000 by postponing one-third of scheduled surgeries during the 2010 Olympics and this year’s extended two-week spring break.

Likewise, the Fraser Health Authority, facing a $130-million deficit, announced it will “postpone” 2,000 elective surgeries over a four-week period during the Olympics.

Now….isn’t this the same sort of single payer, government run, free health care for all, Utopian dream liberals are trying to trick us into getting? I mean I’m sure it’s not exactly what the left has in mind, but pretty close, right?

It almost looks like there’s some sort of….I don’t know…what’s the word?….Rationing? Yes, I think that’s it-  extreme rationing is going on. The sort of rationing of health care most Americans would be appalled by.

This story demonstrates perfectly why I’m skeptical of literally everything that comes out of a leftard liberal’s mouth. These people don’t abide by the same rules most of us do; a code of ethics based on a Judeo-Christian belief system, which you don’t necessarily have to be religious to follow. We believe basically the same things we learned in kindergarten. Play fair.  Honesty is the best policy. Eat your peas.

Their rules come from the Alinsky code of ethics:  how can we fool them today?, ends justify the means,  say and do anything to win, rules. They are dishonest to the core, and one of their favorite tactics these days is to chill the speech of opponents with the scurrilous charge of racism. Obama To Summon His Purple Army In Conference Call, Tomorrow

On Thursday, Barack Obama will host a conference call with his SEIU supporters.

Via Michelle Malkin, here’s SEIU chief, Andy Stern’s  message, (in part), that went out to union members:

The President is holding a live health care reform strategy meeting on Thursday at 2:30 pm EST. He’ll lay out our strategy and message going forward, and he’ll answer questions from SEIU activists and supporters like you.

As the WSJ reported last week, the left is planning and already implementing a massive astroturfing counterattack:

The AFL-CIO has allocated $15 million for mobilization and communication. Individual unions plan to advertise in states with moderate Democratic lawmakers. The Service Employees International Union is sending members to more than 400 events this month, including an “ambulance tour” across Montana, home of Democratic Sen. Max Baucus, a key player in the health debate.

“America deserves an honest, civil discussion on how to fix our broken health-care system,” said SEIU President Andy Stern.

By “honest, civil discussion”, he means lies, obfuscation,  and busting heads of people who don’t agree.

Jim Hoft reported today, that for a pro ObamaCare rally last week in Jackson, MI, Organizing For America and the SEIU bused in supporters from as far away as Muskegon and Detroit, 146, and 78 miles away respectively.

But we’re the astroturfers, remember.

The SEIU has been so busy lately promoting ObamaCare, you would think that it wouldn’t have time to concern itself with  other destructive boondoggles, but you would be wrong:

Labor unions and environmental groups across the United States on Tuesday announced plans for a nationwide campaign to boost support for a climate change bill that is aimed at promoting “clean energy” and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Leaders of the United Steelworkers, Service Employees International Union and Utility Workers Union of America were to join heads of major US environmental groups on a conference call Wednesday to formally launch the campaign, AFP reports.

The coalition said in a statement that the “Made In America” Jobs Tour will open Thursday in Ohio - traditionally a critical political battleground in US presidential elections - and visit 50 sites in 22 states.

According to the statement, the tour “is aimed at highlighting the benefits to American workers and businesses of transitioning to a clean energy economy that will create millions of jobs”.

Oh joy.

Would it be over the top to call this a Stalinist tactic?

These Stalinist punitive measures should be aggressively opposed by these 52 companies and the GOP needs to publicly castigate the Democrats for these Chicago-style gangster tactics.  I cannot imagine anything more intimidating to a businessman than the fear of congressional oversight into your private enterprise if you decide to oppose invasive legislation.

Why Obama Is Losing The Trust of The American People

Rassmussen reports today that 54% of the American people say no health care reform at all would be better than passing the bill making its way through congress.  Yet, the Dems plan to “go it alone” on ObamaCare, without a shred of Republican support. That should surprise no one. What is rather surprising is the self- destructive way the Obama administration has been going about selling his plan.  Jana at Speak Dog Speak! listed some of the Obama tactics that are backfiring: name calling of fellow Americans who voice dissent, stacking town hall meetings with bused in supporters, White House spamming Americans with email propaganda, the snitch site, mobilizing SEIU and ACORN mobs, and I would add the administration’s corrupt  relationship with the drug lobby, the demonization of doctors, and his relentless repetition of demonstrable lies about ObamaCare, while claiming that the opposition needs a “realitycheck”. I think it’s safe to say the bloom is coming off the rose.

But with all due respect to Jana, I do think it’s a little premature to say that ObamaCare is going down in flames. The Dems still have solid majorities in congress and a very determined President who says he’s is willing to be a one termer in order to get this done. But his tactics are raising eyebrows, and causing some to question his psychological make-up:

When a President repeatedly makes assertions that are obviously false, he has created a problem for himself that, to us, looks nearly unrecoverable. Breaking trust with a vast number of the American people while looking stupid doing so is a formula for disaster. As the Washington Post has reported, President Obama won’t stop repeating the same falsehood over and over again. Obama says:

“I keep on saying this but somehow folks aren’t listening: If you like your health-care plan, you keep your health-care plan. Nobody is going to force you to leave your health-care plan”

Obama’s statement might be true for the nanosecond after Obamacare becomes law, but at its heart is obviously and deeply untrue.

Everybody knows that the public plan would force people from their private plans to the government run plan. Who is he trying to kid? What kind of person is comfortable with trying to deceive Americans on such an important topic?

It should speak volumes that Michelle Malkin was able to write a 400+ page book about the corruption in the Obama administration after only six months.

People are waking up to the fact that Obama is not the moderate, well intentioned, post partisan, post-racial Messiah he was billed to be,  and he has a somewhat limited bag of tricks.  As Andrew Breitbart told Judge Napalitano on the Glenn Beck Show, yesterday:

People are starting to realize that Barack Obama has two tricks…he’s mellifluous, he speaks well, and he uses the teleprompter, and on his behalf he has people that intimidate and community organize….that’s it – he has no other trick.

You have to be willfully blind at this point not to see it.

WH Media Director, Macon Phillips denounces wingnut fear mongering and conspiracy theories

Fox News is still all over this bizarre story:

The White House is blaming the controversy over its Web site and mass e-mails on viral rumors, “fear-mongering” and “sinister conspiracy theories” even as it acknowledges problems with its online practices.

After confirming to FOX News over the weekend that third-party groups could be responsible for official White House e-mails that have been sent to people who never signed up for them, President Obama’s new media director took to the official White House blog to “clear up” the confusion.

In a posting Monday night, Macon Phillips again pointed the finger at “outside groups of all political stripes” but downplayed the backlash over the unwanted e-mails.

“An ironic development is that the launch of an online program meant to provide facts about health insurance reform has itself become the target of fear-mongering and online rumors that are the tactics of choice for the defenders of the status quo,” he wrote. “Despite reports by some bloggers and others in the media that have invoked a variety of sinister conspiracy theories, more people signed up for updates last week than during the entire month of July.”

Speaking of status quos, if it wasn’t for Major Garrett’s “fear mongering”, I guess the White House would still be spamming people who never signed up for WH emails, and that would be just hunky-dory, I guess.

You know what a really ironic development is? The “online program meant to provide facts about health insurance reform” is actually a propaganda site that steers you away from the truth.

By the way, is it a sinister conspiracy theory to note that the WH snitch site hasn’t been eliminated, it’s just changed homes?:

Thousands Of AARP Members Have Quit Since July 1

Up to 60,000 people have canceled their AARP memberships since July 1,  according to CBS News. The reason?

ObamaCare:

Elaine Guardiani has been with AARP for 14 years, and said, “I’m extremely disappointed in AARP.”

Retired nurse Dale Anderson has 12 years with AARP and said, “I don’t wanna be connected with AARP.”

Many are switching to the American Seniors Association, a group that calls itself the conservative alternative as CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reports.

It’s about time. Although it bills itself as an independent organization, the AARP was hijacked by the far left a long time ago, and no longer looks out for the best interests of its members, an example being its support for the death tax, which most seniors oppose. The proposed cuts in Medicare are a deal breaker.

Last week, Obama told a town meeting in Portsmouth, NH, “We have the AARP on board because they know this is a good deal for our seniors.”

The AARP called the President’s statements “inaccurate,” saying it hasn’t endorsed any plan or bill.

Although the AARP is not overtly supporting ObamaCare, members believe they’ve been actively promoting it through “the backdoor”, which seems to be verified by this youtube video from a couple of weeks ago:
