Thank You James And Hannah

DSC02024.jpg

It took the efforts of a couple of young conservative activists to do it, but it looks like ACORN’s taxpayer money grubbing days may be coming to an end.

Yesterday, the Senate voted to cut off federal funding to ACORN.

Today, the House GOP called for a total cut off of federal funds to ACORN.

What more, in the wake of this scandal, the U.S. Census has cut off its ties with ACORN, Republican lawmakers are calling for congressional hearings and IRS audits of ACORN, and Fox News reports that officials from the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in NY will be “taking a look” into Brooklyn’s ACORN office.

This has all happened without the MSM’s help in reporting the story.

And  James and Hannah aren’t even through, yet.

Can’t wait for the next shoe to drop.

DC Public Option Rally Turnout Weak (w/ pics)

I just returned from two hours at the rally.  Turnout was maybe approaching 800-1000 when I left….more like 500-700.

Huh? Which was it, 500-700, or 800-1000?

We had at least as many people show up in the cold, last Feb, for the first KC area tea party to protest Porkulus.

Hey, how about a compare/contrast of the two rallies?

James And Hannah Take Their Pimp/Ho Act To New York…

With predictable results:

Watch part two at Big Government.

First they went to Baltimore, then on to Washington DC, and then on to New York – that’s three strikes against ACORN.

Bertha Lewis, the Chief Organizer for ACORN had previously said:

This recent scam, which was attempted in San Diego, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia to name a few places, had failed for months before the results we’ve all recently seen.

Who do you believe? Bertha Lewis, or your own lying eyes?

ACORN is now accusing James, Hannah, and Fox News of conducting a long term political plan to smear the group, saying the tapes were doctored,  and is now threatening to sue them all:

Most of the MSM either ignoring this story, or as James O’Keefe notes, “covering for ACORN” by actively attacking the two film makers, instead of getting to the bottom of the story.

Still, four ACORN employees have already been fired, with more in NY surely to follow. ACORN has been dropped from the Census, and now, fresh, new calls for an ACORN investigation are coming from Republicans in Congress.

I’d say O’Keefe’s pimp hand is stronger than ACORN’s.

Nutroots Really In Denial About Massive 9/12 March In DC

Calling her “The Blind Leading The Blind”, Media Matters(not) blogger extraordinaire, Eric Boehlert spends a whole post laughing at Michelle Malkin, and the gullible wingnuts who repeated her “bogus claim” that 2 million protesters showed up on the Washington mall, yesterday for the 9/12 tea party. The 2 million number was quickly retracted by Malkin, when ABC denied reporting that figure, but it is closer to the mark than the 60,000 to 70,000 number they subsequently reported.

Boehlert makes no attempt to estimate the actual crowd size, himself, but he does offer this picture, which looks like it was taken way after the march had wound down, and most people had gone home:

mallpic

It compares less than favorably to the Obama inauguration picture, does it not? I mean, wow.

How blatantly dishonest.

Now…why would a group that calls itself “Media Matters” ostensibly because it points out misinformation, disinformation, and lies in the media, choose to use an obviously bogus photo of the 9/12 DC tea party and  compare it to Obama’s inauguration?

Why not use this picture:

None of those pictures fit the left’s narrative that the showing was unimpressive, that’s why.

Apparently, some in the nutroots are even trying to argue that the screenshot of the 9/12 march taken from a livecam of the event is somehow “fake.” Sad.

You can view CSPAN’s  2 &1/2 hours of live coverage of the march on Washington, here.

It’s almost as if the Soros brigades are in desperate spin mode, here, trying to convince their brain dead, troglodyte  followers that nothing of import happened in DC, yesterday. It was  just a small group of racist teabaggers with their shocking, shocking signs, instead of very large number of Americans who represent an even larger number (perhaps majority)  of Americans who are fed up with what the Obama administration, and  Congress have been cramming down their throats since January 20th.

*Incidentally, the crowd size is estimated to have been well over one million based on USA Today’s method of estimating crowd size, which was used for Obama’s inauguration:

usahowtojudgecrowdsizemsnbc-screep-cap-of-912-march

Moderate in the Middle concludes:

MSNBC screen cap of the 912 march, CLEARLY the crowd stretched out beyond the 1 mill point based on USAToday’s report on how to gauge inaugural attendance!

See Moderate in the Middle for even more photos from the march.

*Correction:

It’s been pointed out that the USA Today graphic is for The Mall, a large park that extends out from the capitol. The contrasting photo of the march is down Pennsylvania Ave., which is narrower.

The Examiner reported that DC police had estimated the crowd to be around 1.2 million.

Fun fact:

Liberals are filthy pigs who expect others to clean up after them.

UPDATE:

R.S. McCain, who was there, has a good report on the size of the crowd:

What I’m getting at is that, throughout the afternoon, there was a continuous process of people leaving and arriving in the main rally area for various reasons. Barbara Espinosa, to cite one example known to me directly, ran down her cell-phone batteries sending photos to Steve Green and left the rally sometime after 2 p.m.

Furthermore, as I noticed when I went down to the police barricade toward the southeast side of the Capitol lawn to try to locate Cynthia Yockey, many people were wandering around on the periphery of rally. Dan Riehl arrived late, and could give an account of how many late arrivals were hindered by jammed inbound roads and the snarled-up Metro system.

All of which is to say that any given photo of the mall, taken at any time during the rally, could not possibly have shown the total crowd that attended the rally over the course of the event. Given the 450,000 number counted along the parade route, I have no problem believing that the total attendance was in excess of 1 million, but beyond that I am unwilling to hazard an estimate.

Editor’s note:

*The authenticity of the last picture I had posted was called into question, so I removed it. I’ve contacted the source to verify its legitimacy.

Obama And The “Coarsening Of Dialogue”

Is this for real?

President Obama says the angry scenes on televised town halls represents a “coarsening of our political dialogue.”

In an interview to be aired tonight on 60 minutes, Obama indicated that he didn’t think the opposition expressed to his agenda represented the national mood, just the best television.

“In the era of 24-hour cable news cycles, the loudest shrillest voices get the attention,” Obama said, in the interview which was previewed on “Face the Nation.” “What I’m trying to figure out is how can we make sure that civility is interesting.”

Earth to Obama: One good way would be to not tell people they should get in your opponents’ faces and argue with them:

And maybe Obama shouldn’t ridicule the people who oppose his policies:

That reminded me that maybe he shouldn’t go after media  personalities who oppose his agenda:

And he could tell his fellow Democrats in Congress to tone it down a notch:

Senator Reid called anti-ObamaCare protesters “evil mongers”.

Nancy Pelosi and Steni Hoyer call opposition to ObamaCare “unAmerican”.

ObamaCare supporters aren’t exactly known for their civility, either:

After they had already astroturfed and busted heads at several town hall events, Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told SEIU supporters to “keep doing what you’re doing.”

A Moveon.org thug bit off the pinkie finger of a an elderly anti-ObamaCare protester at a rally.

See Doug Ross for more on The Party of Hope, Change, and Beatdowns.

Regarding civility in politics, you know what I say to Obama and the rest of the Dems?

Video: Glenn Beck, special Saturday 9/12 protest edition:

UPDATE:

This article from USA Today Jan.20, Obama’s inauguration day, explains how the Park Service estimates crowd size:

Estimating the size of a crowd requires aerial photographs, dimensions of the gathering space, and an estimate of the crowd’s density.

If the National Mall is densely packed from Third Street to the Washington Monument, and if the area from the monument to the Lincoln Memorial has an average density, the space could contain 1.5 million people, Barna said. Average density is one person per 5 square feet. A tightly packed crowd has a density of one person per 2.5 square feet, an area slightly larger than this newspaper.

Clark McPhail, a University of Illinois professor and expert in crowd estimation, said it’s “very important” to provide a number, even if only an estimate. “These are events of historical significance,” he said. “A president ought to be able to know how many people turn out for his inauguration.”

Thanks to Nick.

Video: Glenn Beck Notices Lack Of Media Coverage On ACORN Story

You’ll never guess who’s been covering the story the most:

You would think Olby would make Glenn Beck his worst person in the world for the umpteenth time for his part in what was obviously  racist, and illegal entrapment. But no. 0 coverage at MSNBC, not to mention CBS, ABC, NBC.

And nobody, not even Fox, has thought to ask anyone in the Obama administration what Obama thinks of all this ACORN corruption. After all, he has worked for them, trained ACORN workers, and was supported by them. He famously promised ACORN in Dec ’07, that they would help him set his agenda. Why doesn’t anybody ask him about that?

Incidentally,  two Washington DC ACORN employees were fired, today, bringing the total of fired employees to four, and ACORN contends that an internal review of “practices and training” is forthcoming. No word yet on whether or not any of the ACORN employees will be prosecuted for agreeing to help enable sex slavery.

Our two young film makers, however, may see up to five years in jail apiece for violating Maryland’s wiretap laws.

Scott Levenson Was Right: The Pimp Scam WAS Tried At Other ACORN Offices

Yesterday, ACORN spokesman, Scott Levenson said:

“The portrayal is false and defamatory and an attempt at gotcha journalism. This film crew tried to pull this sham at other offices and failed. ACORN wants to see the full video before commenting further.”

“Attempt”? I’d say that was an unqualified success at “gotcha journalism”. But he was right that it was tried at other offices.

Next, the pair drove down to DC…

Ace crows:

It is delicious that O’Keefe and Hannah held this video back and induced Scott Levenson, willing and able to lie about anything at a moment’s notice, to claim they’d tried this at other offices and were met with a more appropriate, lawful, human response.

Care to try again, Scott?

What fraction of ACORN’s employers are “improperly trained” and “a few bad apples” engaging in criminal activity all on their own dime? Apparently, to listen to Levenson’s spin, the fraction is somewhere in the realm of 4/5ths.

On CNN, yesterday, panelists said that  the conservative film makers may be guilty of entrapment:

…Joe Conason from Salon  went on to say, “it’s propaganda” , not journalism, if the film makers don’t disclose that they went to more than one office and were thrown out at all the others, and filming people without their knowledge is illegal in Maryland, so they could be in trouble.

I think we all have a pretty good idea who Conason believes the real wrongdoers are.

It remains to be seen if the pair were actually kicked out of the other offices they tried this at.

Daniel J. Those contacts are telling him that a sequel is imminent:

Rumor: Hillary Clinton Considering Stepping Down As Sec. Of State

Perhaps she’s already grown tired of her near invisible role at the State Dept.

Video: Glenn Beck Interviews Hannah On ACORN Corruption

White Racists Trap Innocent, Big Hearted ACORN Workers In Baltimore

What?

I’m just trying to come up with the liberal defense for this. Obviously, the two conservatives posing  as pimp and  ho, (or “performance artist”), are white, and the ACORN workers are black, soooo… racism, right? Mal? Bueller?

This is the story that Glenn Beck hinted at earlier this week that he claimed would be sending people to jail. These two thoroughly corrupt ACORN workers are the dupes who will be going to jail. Michelle Malkin sets up the ruse orchestrated by 25 year old conservative videographer, James O’Keefe:

Andrew Breitbart’s new website, Big Government, has videotape of ACORN officials in Baltimore offering to help two people posing as a pimp and a prostitute, encouraging them to lie to the Internal Revenue Service in order to secure housing — and giving advice on how to claim underage girls from South America as dependents.

James O’Keefe conducted the undercover investigation and has the full transcript here.

Watch part two at Big Government.
