This sign has been taken down since it made the local news in Colorado, and has been replaced by a sign that says, “Please help. We need firewood, propane and canned food”.

I hope the publicity brought them some relief. This is a terrible time of year to be homeless.

You probably didn’t hear about it because outside of two Colorado television stations nobody found this newsworthy.

By contrast, when word got out in March of a tent city in Sacramento, California, news media couldn’t get enough of the story.

See, they could pin the tent city in Sacramento on Bush, because it was so early on in Obama’s Presidency. Now -  not a peep from the national media.

So it’s come to this. If, and I say if only because it isn’t, global warming is a man-made desecration of the planet, the head table of that desecration has been set up this week in Copenhagen under the aegis of stopping the man-made desecration of the planet.

Crazy, huh? But there is a darker vibe about the craziness this time around. I used to feel it was funny crazy, UFO-Loch Ness crazy. Now though, it’s becoming disturbing crazy.

In the wake of the publishing of the East Anglia e-mails, I’m beginning to see a Roy Cohn-at-Tailgunner-Joe’s-side quality in some of the more zealous climatological gurus’ incessant bleats.

I think I know what he means. These warmists that appear in interviews sound like Stepford wives to me, with their practiced mantra, (or incessant bleats), IE: “Independent climate assessments”, “peer reviewed”, “consensus”, “the science is settled”, “the vast majority of climate scientists believe in AGW”, etc.  It’s like they haven’t figured out that we’re on to them yet.  They need to come up with a new strategy. Calling scientists who disagree with them, “deniers”, convinces no-one , but that’s why I call them, “warmists”, since we’re throwing epithets around.

This Professor Matt Maslin, is a perfect example of the type:

Quite enough has come out about this man’s disturbing background with GLSEN, the group he created and led until 2008,  for Obama to bid him adieu, sooner rather than later, yet he remains at his post. Kevin Jennings is an impatient man. He very much wants to impose his radical “change” on the schools, now, and no doubt, that is what he has been busy doing behind the scenes, while the MSM yawns:

Yesterday, Rep. Michael C. Burgess MD delivered a 1-minute speech calling on the Obama Administration to immediately fire  Kevin Jennings, calling him “dangerous for our schoolchildren.”

The Washington Times oped referred to by Rep. Burgess, Obama’s risky-sex czar, is currently listed on the newspaper’s site as #1 under Top stories “most read” .

Their Friday oped is Cruising gay bars with the ‘safe schools czar’.

I see I’m not the only one who can’t resist using sneer quotes around “Safe School Czar”.

Larry Craig was discovered to have pleaded guilty to soliciting sex from another man in a public bathroom, Media Matters alleged inability to comprehend that the Jennings story has nothing to do with homosexuality, and everything to do with adults sharing and discussing XXX rated materials with children, is very revealing in a terribly unflattering way.

It appears there is no line a Progressive Democrat can cross which will put them on the bad side of Media Matters.

Pay Czar Limits Pay On Mid-level Employees

Obama’s “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg has now targeted the  salaries of midlevel employees at bailed-out companies, with  hopes of having his salary caps adopted industry-wide.

The Obama administration’s pay czar announced on Friday new limits on the pay of middle-level executives at four firms that received government bailout assistance, capping base cash salaries for those employees at $500,000.

The new limits will cut pay for the 26th to 100th highest-paid employees at the four firms under his authority and mandate the form of the compensation and limit perks.

Kenneth Feinberg said he hopes the new pay guidelines will set the standard for U.S. compensation practices. The thrust of the guidelines is to tie executive compensation more closely to the performance of their firms.

The firms covered by the limits are American International Group (AIG 27.57, -1.36, -4.71%) , Citigroup (C 3.92, +0.05, +1.29%) , General Motors and GMAC (GMA 18.75, -0.10, -0.53%) . Chrysler and Chrysler Financial are not covered because they are not paying any employees at this level over $500,000.

While accepting his Nobel Peace Prize  in Oslo,  Obama stressed the importance and danger of  climate change:

“There is little scientific dispute that if we do nothing, we will face more drought, more famine, more mass displacement – all of which will fuel more conflict for decades,” and then he drew attention to the question of security in the climate problem:

“It is not merely scientists and environmental activists who call for swift and forceful action – it’s military leaders in my own country and others who understand that our common security hangs in the balance.

Soros Behind Massive Eco-Redistribution Scheme in Copenhagen

The ever vigilant Michelle Malkin reports:

Hmmmm. Left-wing radical billionaire George Soros has injected himself into the Copenhagen climate change talks. He is riding to the “rescue” of negotiators at loggerheads over the pricetag of global regulatory intervention to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Look:

The $10 billion a year proposed by rich nations to help the poor adapt to climate change is “not sufficient” and the gap between what’s offered and what’s needed could wreck the Copenhagen climate conference, American billionaire George Soros said Thursday…

Soros, one in a line of international notables visiting the 192-nation Copenhagen meeting, told reporters he had developed a partial solution on funding. The investor-philanthropist suggested shifting some International Monetary Fund resources from providing liquidity to stressed global financial systems to a new mission of financing projects in developing countries for clean energy and adapting to climate change. About $100 billion in a one-time infusion could be generated, said Soros, a major supporter of causes in the developing world. But he acknowledged a major roadblock in Washington.

“It is possible to substantially increase the amount available to fight global warming in the developing world,” he said. “All that is lacking is the political will. Unfortunately the political will will be difficult to gather because of the mere fact that it requires congressional approval in the United States.” Soros said he had “informal discussions” with Obama administration officials and they recognized the difficulty of getting congressional approval. But he said the issue was too important to sweep aside.

And we all know, Obama would never try to enact a policy by bypassing  congressional approval…

Environmental causes have long been of interest to Soros, who promotes the tenets of a radical environmentalism whose  ultimate goal  is “not clean air and clean water, [but] rather … the demolition of technological/industrial civilization”.

Environmentalism’s goal is not the advancement of human health, human happiness, and human life; rather, it is a subhuman world where “nature” is worshipped like the totem of some primitive religion.

Don’t believe me? Go check out what some members of the international, and influential organization, The Club of Rome, (of which Soros is a member) have to say about mother Gaia. Here are some  examples:

In 1991 Strong wrote the introduction to a book published by the Trilateral Commission, called Beyond Interdependence: The Meshing of the World’s Economy and the Earth’s Ecology, by Jim MacNeil. (David Rockefeller wrote the foreword). Strong said this: “This interlocking is the new reality of the century, with profound implications for the shape of our institutions of governance, national and international. By the year 2012, these changes must be fully integrated into our economic and political life.“

He also recently authored a book called ‘Where on Earth are We Going? in which he outlines a doomsday scenario of what will soon happen to Gaia unless there is “an immediate and total global transformation.” His predictions make Al Gore seem like an optimist. He claims that humanity will not survive the next 30 years on its current course.

Al Gore:

“The fate of mankind, as well as of religion, depends upon the emergence of a new faith in the future.’ Armed with such a faith, we might find it possible to resanctify the Earth.” – Earth in the Balance

“This we know: the Earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the Earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all.” Earth in the Balance, page 259.

On the back cover of Earth in the Balance the well-known New Ager M. Scott Peck states: “Earth in Balance is a brilliantly written, prophetic, even holy book, clearly pointing the way we need to change to assure the survival of our children. I pray it will have the dramatic impact it deserves – and must have for our collective salvation.”

It’s more than a little unsettling that such high level moonbattery is driving the world’s environmental policies.

Oh my stars and garters, the chutzpa of the left knows no bounds.

Byron York got his hands on a new report;  “The Billionaires Behind the Hate” from the Center for American Progress,  the liberal think tank run by John Podesta. Discover the Networks profile of CAP, here.

The supposedly hateful billionaires in the article’s title are brothers Charles and David Koch of Koch Industries, one of the nation’s largest conglomerates.

And what do they hate?  The “progressive agenda.”  The Kochs, according to Podesta’s group, are “responsible for a vicious attack campaign aimed directly at obstructing and killing progressive reform.”  First, they opposed the stimulus, financing “television and radio ads deriding the recovery package as simply ‘pork’ spending.”  Imagine that!  Then, through the group Americans for Prosperity, they helped organize some of the first “Tea Party” protests.

Like most all conservatives, they oppose Cap and Trade, and ObamaCare too, throwing their money at causes they support, as well as, “generous contributions to the arts, cancer research, and the Smithsonian Institute.”

Haters!

Aside from its remarkable language — is it “hate” to believe the stimulus, cap-and-trade and the current health care proposals are bad policy? — the Podesta group’s attack on the Kochs is striking because the Center for American Progress is itself the product of politically-active billionaires.  It would never have come into existence without the backing of California-based Herbert and Marion Sandler, who founded Golden West Financial Corporation and made billions engaging in some of the most irresponsible subprime lending of the first years of this decade.  (After the financial collapse, their reputation sank so low that they were brutally parodied in a “Saturday Night Live” sketch last year.)

Remember this:

There is another billionaire, George Soros, who is also close to the Center. In 2003, in the middle of spending nearly $30 million of his own money in a quest to unseat President George W. Bush, Soros pledged to give the Center $1 million a year for three years. It was less than the Sandlers gave, but it was key support for an institution then getting off the ground. (I wrote about the founding of the Center, and how Podesta created an institution that combined the functions of think tank and political war room, in my book The Vast Left Wing Conspiracy.)

Bryon, Byron, Byron…come now.   George Soros and the Sandlers are big hearted philanthropists. The Kochs are “vicious haters”.  See the difference?

Don’t Be Fooled: Senate Public Option “Compromise” = Single Payer

As soon as the Senate “compromise” (between lib and extreme lib factions in the Dem party) was announced, conservatives were suspicious. No doubt this is another ploy to get us to single payer – full-blown socialized medicine, which has been the wet dream of liberals for too long for them to give it up that easily.

The reason we know for a fact that they are scheming behind closed doors to get us there, is because every so often one of them is unable to control their tongues and they blurt out the truth, as unpopular as it is.

The latest doofus to do this is  NY Rep, Anthony Weiner:

A provision opening Medicare to uninsured Americans between the ages of 55 and 64 drew praise from some liberals.

Rep. Anthony Weiner, D-N.Y., called it “an unvarnished, complete victory for people like me who have been arguing for a single-payer system.”

He told another newspaper that it might “get us on the path to a single payer model.”

Thank you for confirming our suspicions, Weiner.

The media has been AWOL on this story. Fox News has finally stepped up….will others follow?

Michelle Malkin is right that the touchy subject matter makes this topic difficult to discuss on television, and that’s why it’s so insidious. Radical gay activists  have relied on a timid and  browbeaten populous in order to push their agenda. But this must stop.

Every day, Media Matters comes out with slickly worded, but weak defenses of Kevin Jennings, and GLSEN, calling the  reports about Jennings and GLSEN “anti-gay smears”. Nobody wants to be thought of as a “hatemonger”, but people need to buck up. The uncomfortable truth is:  there are people out there who want to steal your children’s innocence. They want to pollute their minds at a young age. They want to indoctrinate them into their chosen lifestyle. Kevin Jennings is one of those people.   Every parent who has a child in the American public school system should be screaming from the rooftops for this man to be fired from his job as Safe School Czar. The fact that he was chosen for this position is an insult and an offense to every decent American, including gays who don’t think subjecting schoolchildren to explicit pornographic materials etc,  in the name of “tolerance” and “safety” is a good thing.

Kevin Jennings must go, and Obama owes the American people an explanation and apology for his  extreme (even for him) lapse in judgment in this affront to common sense and common decency.

Pat Caddell was spot on, yesterday, when he said, ” They think the American people are sheep that they can run over….they have nothing but contempt for the very people they are supposed to represent on the greatest nation on earth”.

Gateway Pundit has the all the latest revelations about Obama’s outrageous and offensive choice for “safe schools czar”.

To recap the “fisting” controversy:

During the 2000 conference, workshop leaders led a “youth only, ages 14-21″ session that offered lessons in “fisting” a dangerous sexual practice. During the same workshop an activist asked 14 year-old students, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?” The unbelievable audio clip is posted here.

Here’s the thing. Maybe I’ve been behind the curve, but I was under the impression that Kevin Jennings wasn’t even present at this conference. At least, that is what some of his defenders had argued. He wasn’t there…he wasn’t the  one doing the fisting demonstrations! But the fact that the organization he founded and led, was engaging in activities like this was enough for me. Either he had lost control of his organization and was completely incompetent, or he consented and agreed with it. I tended to believe the latter, but neither choice was acceptable to me for an adviser to the President.

It turns out that he was the keynote speaker of this conference:

Unfortunately for GLSEN, undercover journalists with Mass Resistance recorded these outrageous sessions at Tufts University. The audio was later leaked to a local radio station. This created such an uproar that GLSEN leaders were forced to apologize for their disgusting behavior.

Despite the controversy, Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings and his GLSEN organization did nothing to clean up their act. In fact in 2001 activists handed out “fisting kits” to the children and teachers who attended the GLSEN conference.

But that’s not all. The children who attended Kevin Jennnings’ GLSEN 2005 Conference also left with their own “Little Black Book – Queer in the 21st Century”.

You’ll have to go to Gateway Pundit’s site to view the totally inappropriate and disgusting booklet. It’s not clear how many kids actually went home with the books.

The Boston Globe had a report about the incident at the time, after a watchdog group had brought the booklet to the media’s attention. As would be expected, GLSEN feigned surprise that such a thing was being  distributed  at one of their conferences.:

The ”Little Black Book,” produced by the AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts, is targeted at 18-and-older gay men, according to the committee. The book uses vivid descriptions and colloquial terms to describe the ways HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases can be prevented and spread.

A Fenway Community Health employee brought the pamphlets along with other materials and put them on the table by mistake, said Chris Viveiros, a spokesman for Fenway Community Health.

”Fenway Community Health regrets accidentally making available a small number of copies of the Little Black Book, an HIV-prevention publication for gay and bisexual men over the age of 18, at an event where young people were present,” said Dr. Stephen Boswell, Fenway Community Health’s president and CEO.

Sean Haley, executive director of the education network, which sponsored the conference, added: ”We have very clear policies that sexually explicit material of any kind will not be made available at the conference. Had I seen the book, I would have asked them to put it away.”

At the start of the event, Haley said, network officials scanned each of the 10 tables it had rented, for $35 apiece, to outside groups. He said nobody saw the pamphlet at the time. ”We’re just going to have to be more rigorous in our review of materials,” he said.

Kevin Jennings was the national executive director or GLSEN at the time. Haley must have been the local executive director. And don’t tell me that neither of them were aware that explicit materials like this booklet and “fisting kits” were being distributed and discussed at GLSEN conferences. Only ten tables, and  somehow this book was missed? Please.

William Lupini, Brookline school superintendent, said the school system agreed to host the event on the condition that material would be age-appropriate.
