IA Rep Steve King Says ACORN Investigation will lead to the White House

Congressman Steve King Spoke at an ACORN forum on Dec 1st.  It’s nice to know that some of our Republicans are on top of this issue, and keeping the heat on:

Transcript via Atlas Shrugs:

King said “Obama has worked for ACORN,” and he has been part and parcel of that – Project VOTE in particular.” That entire network is something the Chicago Organization that now sits in the White House knows a lot about.”

King also pointed out that the new White House Counsel – Robert Bauer – sent a letter to the Attorney General last year urging an investigation of President Bush and the McCain Campaign for “alleging that ACORN was promoting fraudulent voter registration activities.”

Nice Deb remembers it well.

Barack Obama’s campaign attorney today asked Attorney General Michael Mukasey to add a probe into allegedly false Republican claims of voter fraud to the investigation into the firings of U.S. attorneys.

Republican voter-fraud accusations “seek both to suppress the vote and to unduly influence investigations and prosecutions,” wrote Robert Bauer, general counsel for the Democratic presidential nominee. He made the statement in a letter to Mukasey and special prosecutor Nora Dannehy, who is looking into the nine U.S. attorney firings in 2006.

Soooooooo……do people actually believe this Orwellian b.s.? It’s not like libs haven’t used this commie tactic before: Accuse your accusers of that which you’re guilty…..but I’ve never seen it done this brazenly, with an attempt to employ so much power  behind it. It’s a grim farce.

This entire White House is a grim farce.

Deesgusting!:Obama’s “Safe Schools Czar” Kevin Jennings Promoting Child Porn In Classroom Through GLSEN Reading List

I first blogged about Obama’s Orwellian, batshit-crazy choice for Safe School Czar back in October, here, and here. Excuse my language, but this man and his organization, GLSEN are even worse than I thought, and I had already thought they were pretty damn bad. At the time, I had titled my post ” Why Does Obama Have A Known Pervert As His Safe Schools Czar? I walked that back a bit, changing my title to; Why Does Obama Have A Known *PervertGay Activist For His “Safe Schools” Czar?, in the wake of fierce criticism from some on the right who had thought that I was charging that Kevin Jennings was a pedophile, himself. I wasn’t, and I wanted to eliminate the confusion. I have no idea if he is or not, but anyone who promotes child sex (in schools, yet!) is a pervert in my book, so I hereby retract my retraction:

Why Does Obama Have A Known Pervert For His “Safe Schools” Czar?

Via Gateway Pundit (content warning):

Scott Baker from Breitbart-TV.com and Co-Host of ‘The B-Cast‘ submitted this shocking report today on Obama’s deviant Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings:

According to GLSEN’s own press releases from the period during which its recommended reading list was developed, the organization’s three areas of focus were creating “educational resources, public policy agenda, [and] student organizing programs”; in other words, the reading list (chief among its “educational resources”) was of prime importance in GLSEN’s efforts to influence the American educational system.

The list is divided into three main categories: books recommended for grades K-6; books recommended for grades 7-12; and books for teachers. (The books on the list span all genres: fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, even poetry.)

Out of curiosity to see exactly what kind of books Kevin Jennings and his organization think American students should be reading in school, our team chose a handful at random from the over 100 titles on GLSEN’s grades 7-12 list, and began reading through.

What we discovered shocked us. We were flabbergasted. Rendered speechless.

We were unprepared for what we encountered. Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air. One memoir even praised becoming a prostitute as a way to increase one’s self-esteem. Above all, the books seemed to have less to do with promoting tolerance than with an unabashed attempt to indoctrinate students into a hyper-sexualized worldview.

We knew that unless we carefully documented what we were reading, the public would have a hard time accepting it. Mere descriptions on our part could not convey the emotional gut reaction one gets when seeing what Kevin Jennings wants kids to read as school assignments. So we began scanning pages from each of the books, and then made exact transcriptions of the relevant passages on each page.

Are we exaggerating, or misconstruing quotes that could be interpreted a different way? No: Read the passages below and judge for yourself. There’s no wiggle room. The language is explicit, the intent clear.

Gateway Pundit has the full NSFW report with excerpts from the books. Prepare to be even more shocked and disgusted.

Don’t expect the MSM to take an interest. A website has been set up to advocate the firing of Jennings as Obama’s Safe Schools Czar: expeljennings.org.

Click Here to Tell Obama and Congress that Kevin Jennings Has No Place in the Department of Education.

Mr. Jennings has been appointed by the President as Deputy Assistant Secretary for the Department of Education’s Office of Safe & Drug Free Schools. His supporters claim that he will only establish programs to combat bullying.  If that were true, it would be a worthy cause. Bullying for any reason is is wrong, and schools should never tolerate it.  But time and again, Mr. Jennings has used the cover of “bullying prevention” to enforce his radical positions on sex education.   The idea that we need the “queering” of elementary education in order to teach children that bullying is wrong is as absurd as it is offensive.

Day 13 Of Climategate Scandal; ABC, CBS, NBC Still AWOL

This story is not going away. The smoking gun has been found in the code. Besides being unethical d-bags in their emails, the scientists at CRU were clearly manipulating their data.

Sarah Palin On Rusty Humphries Show: “Birth Certificate Fair Game”.

Rusty asked her the question about Obama’s birth certificate  about 7:00 min. in the first video, but listen to the whole thing if you have time. Come on. It’s Sarah Palin. She’s always worth listening to.

Part One

Part Two

I found out about this on Twitter since certain bloggers, (not mentioning any names) were groaning, and suffering extreme vapors over it.

What the heck’s wrong with allowing Americans to ask the question ,”Why doesn’t he just produce the stupid long form certificate and put the matter to rest?”

Andrew McCarthy has asked that question.

Lou Dobbs has asked that question.

Bernard Goldberg has asked that question.

And so have  millions of other Americans, who find it strange that Obama, who once branded himself as the most transparent President, evah -  has spent so much time and money to keep it hidden. It doesn’t make you a whacked out conspiracy theorist to find that strange.

In fact, not finding that strange, I think is a little strange.

An aside:

Incidentally, did you notice how much weight Rusty Humphries has lost? He used to look like this. Good for him!

Video: Climate Change Skeptic Chris Horner On Hannity

Chris Horner of the Competitive Enterprise Institute has been one of the leading skeptics of anthropogenic global warming, and wrote the now very topical book, Red Hot Lies: How Global Warming Alarmists Use Threats, Fraud, and Deception to Keep You Misinformed.

Now he’s  preparing to sue NASA for climate change data under the Freedom of Information Act.

Sean asked him the 64,000 question….Why? I liked Horner’s answer…

A little bit of  “follow the money” explanation…and a little bit of, take a look at who these scientists are, and I would add,  who funds them:

Al Gore Cancels Lecture In Denmark

The Danes seem a little miffed over this. Around 3000 chumps had already purchased tickets, but “unforeseen changes in Al Gore’s program”, have caused him to cancel.

Weird! I wonder what could have precipitated this?

Berlingske reports, (via Google tranlate):

Al Gore has this morning told Berlingske Media’s great annoyance has canceled his planned major climate talks for Danes 16th december i Tap 1 på den gamle Carlsberg grund under titlen ”Klimakonklusion”. December 1 Tap in the old Carlsberg because, under the title “Climate Conclusion”.

(rest redacted due to bad translation…go to Berlingske to read).

Newsbusters has more:

Al Gore apparently has canceled a high-priced speaking engagement during the upcoming climate change conference in Copenhagen.

As NewsBusters reported Tuesday, the Nobel Laureate was slated to lecture about his new book “Our Choice” where attendees could pay over $1,200 a ticket for the right to meet the Global Warmingist-in-Chief and have their picture taken with him.

Allahpundit made me lol with this snark: Alternate headline: “Pope to skip Easter mass.”

He thinks it’s not a big deal. Gore’s still going to be a very conspicuous presence in Copenhagen. The “high priest of global warming” is not gonna bail on this easily. Allah’s probably right not to read too much into this.

UPDATE:

A rebuttal from Jackstraw in the comments:

No, actually Allah is wrong. Gore has been pimping this meeting for months and had over 3000 people signed up to come hear the climate god spew his nonsense.

For him to back out of this very public meeting means he knows that the walls are crumbling and he wants to keep away from any public venue where he might actually get asked questions by “skeptics”.

This fraud is coming undone.

Climategate Photoshop

I made a slight change in the Climategate photoshop I made last night. I liked the chart used below, (seen at Michelle Malkin’s) better than the one, I used earlier, because the monkeys in that pic cover the lower part of the chart that shows the decline. (They were hiding the decline).

This one works much better:

Network News Not Reporting On Climategate

Julia A. Seymour of the Business Media Institute reports today that ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening news have not yet reported on the Climategate scandal…12 days into the story, and all three networks are AWOL. That to me, is a scandal in itself:

12 Days, 3 Networks and No Mention of ClimateGate Scandal
Even as Copenhagen looms, broadcast news ignores e-mails suggesting warming alarmists ‘manipulated’ data, conspired to destroy information and thwarted peer reviews.

It’s been nearly two weeks since a scandal shook many people’s faith in the scientists behind global warming alarmism. The scandal forced the University of East Anglia (UK) to divulge that it threw away raw temperature data and prompted the temporary resignation of Phil Jones of the university’s Climate Research Unit.

Despite that resignation and calls by a U.S. senator to investigate the matter, ABC, CBS and NBC morning and evening news programming has remained silent – not mentioning a word about the scandal since it broke on Nov. 20, even as world leaders including President Barack Obama prepare to meet in Copenhagen, Denmark next week to promote a pact to reduce greenhouse gases.

Read the full report.

This is reminiscent of  the treatment the networks gave the revealing ACORN sting videos featuring Hannah Giles, and Michael O’Keefe just a couple of months ago.

If I remember right, Charlie Gibson was particularly clueless on that one. He’s asleep at the wheel on Climategate as well:

UPDATE:

Read Mark Tappscott’s excellent post:  The fix is in, liberal media selling out for pot of government gold

Watching liberal journalists desperate for a government bailout as they prostrate themselves before Congress can be so confusing:

Should we be embarrassed as these media representatives of the “best and brightest” beg for official handouts while proclaiming their devotion to independent journalism?

Or should we laugh at the irony of what is left of a once-proud liberal media establishment choosing to become wards of the very state they so vigorously promoted for the past several decades?

Speaking as somebody who has made his living reporting and analyzing the news for more than two decades, I tend towards the embarrassment option.

In any case, it’s clear that the fix is in and all that is left now is for the liberal journalists and their new masters in government to complete their kabuki dance enroute to congressional approval and presidential signature on a massive package of aid for politically correct newspapers and broadcasters.

New improved climategate chart:

The monkeys are “hiding the decline”  in the first chart.

Video: Pat Michaels Discusses Climategate On Neil Cavuto Show

Patrick Michaels, a Distinguished Senior Fellow in the School of Public Policy at George Mason University and past president of the American Association of State Climatologists was program chair for the Committee on Applied Climatology of the American Meteorological Society. But to the global warming alarmists at CRU, he is simply a “denier” who deserves to get the crap beaten out of him. He appeared on the Neil Cavuto Show, this afternoon to discuss Climategate.

He’s clearly enjoying this:

Statement From Donald Rumsfeld On Obama-lie In Afghanistan Speech

For some reason, Obama can never resist throwing in an unfair dig at the previous administration in every speech he gives, no matter the subject matter. Doesn’t he realize how small that makes him look? It’s almost become a waiting game – waiting for that special moment in each speech when he has to cast blame on his predecessor, just to prop himself up. Former Sec. of State Donald Rumsfeld, like Dick Cheney many times before him, wasn’t going to let Obama’s slander go unchallenged:

“In his speech to the nation last night, President Obama claimed that ‘Commanders in Afghanistan repeatedly asked for support to deal with the reemergence of the Taliban, but these reinforcements did not arrive.’ Such a bald misstatement, at least as it pertains to the period I served as Secretary of Defense, deserves a response.”

“I am not aware of a single request of that nature between 2001 and 2006. If any such requests occurred, ‘repeated’ or not, the White House should promptly make them public. The President’s assertion does a disservice to the truth and, in particular, to the thousands of men and women in uniform who have fought, served and sacrificed in Afghanistan.”

“In the interest of better understanding the President’s announcement last night, I suggest that the Congress review the President’s assertion in the forthcoming debate and determine exactly what requests were made, who made them, and where and why in the chain of command they were denied.”

That conforms with what Steven Hayes reported in THE WEEKLY STANDARD in October, who went on to say that Bush sent 7000 more troops in 2008, before he left office.

Gibbs that the Bush administration ignored requests for more troops. It’s nonsense, they say. McKiernan wanted more troops–he asked for three additional brigades in the summer of 2008–but he understood that he could have them only when they became available. “McKiernan was making requests down the line,” says a Pentagon official, “and late in 2008 we did have the ability to commit more forces. So we did.” Indeed, Bush sent nearly 7,000 additional troops to Afghanistan before he left office, including one brigade that had been repurposed from Iraq.

I’m still waiting to hear “ankle-biter”, Dick Cheney’s thoughts on the speech.

More reactions from the left and right, (almost all negative), here.

MORE:

Steven Hayes also notes that before Obama had eloquently decried the “rancor and cynicism and partisanship that has in recent times poisoned our national discourse” in his speech at his West Point speech, last night, Biden had sent out this mass email to liberal supporters  touting Obama’s speech:

“It’s a clean break from the failed Afghanistan policy of the Bush administration, and a new, focused strategy that can succeed’.

Dirtbags.

Compare and Contrast:The Decider v.s. The Ditherer At West Point

Last night, President Obama chose to make his Afghanistan troop announcement at West Point, AKA “The Enemy Camp”. The response of the cadets was polite, but subdued, even after apparently being told to “respond enthusiastically”:

As usual Obama’s speech ran long, and was a snoozer as was evidenced by these cadets knocking nails, seen here, and here.

Der Spiegel Online has been brutal to Obama, lately:

Searching in Vain for the Obama Magic:

Never before has a speech by President Barack Obama felt as false as his Tuesday address announcing America’s new strategy for Afghanistan. It seemed like a campaign speech combined with Bush rhetoric — and left both dreamers and realists feeling distraught.

One can hardly blame the West Point leadership. The academy commanders did their best to ensure that Commander-in-Chief Barack Obama’s speech would be well-received.

Just minutes before the president took the stage inside Eisenhower Hall, the gathered cadets were asked to respond “enthusiastically” to the speech. But it didn’t help: The soldiers’ reception was cool.

President Bush, as hated and reviled by the anti-war left as he was, was always appreciated by our troops:

See The WSJ for Fight Looms on How to Pay for New War Plan

The Democrats are going to push for a “war tax”. Republicans would like to continue to borrow, (how about not, guys), or allocate other funds, which is what I favor, but are Dems  going to go along with that, when they think can justify raising taxes? I think not.

Captain Ed has a few more thoughts on the speech:

The only sense of real mission I get from this speech is that we’re going to send 30,000 more troops now so we can start evacuating all of them in the summer of 2011.  It sounds like a slow-motion Dunkirk, and it recalls what Winston Churchill had to say after being congratulated for rescuing the entire British Army and a good portion of the French Army in 1940 from that massive cross-Channel evacuation: “Wars are not won by evacuations.”  And apparently Obama agrees, since he didn’t bother to talk about victory at all, but instead treated it as a massive responsibility that he reluctantly will fulfill.

What’s the point of sending troops into a far off war zone, if you know you’re going to be sending them home in a few months, win or lose?

Amazing Coincidence!: “Obama Years Ago Helped Fund Carbon Program He Is Now Pushing Through Congress”

This just keeps getting better and better…Ed Barnes at Fox News reports:

While on the board of a Chicago-based charity, Barack Obama helped fund a carbon trading exchange that will likely play a critical role in the cap-and-trade carbon reduction program he is now trying to push through Congress as president.

In 2000 and 2001, while Barack Obama served as a board member for a Chicago-based charitable foundation, he helped to fund a pioneering carbon trading exchange that is likely to fill a critical role in the controversial cap-and-trade carbon reduction scheme that President Obama is now trying to push rapidly through Congress.

During those two years, the Joyce Foundation gave nearly $1.1 million in two separate grants that were instrumental in developing and launching the privately-owned Chicago Climate Exchange, which now calls itself “North America’s only cap and trade system for all six greenhouse gases, with global affiliates and projects worldwide.”

Hmmm. Interesting. I wonder who else was involved?

Judy McLeod at CFP has the answer to that question:

The “privately-owned” Chicago Climate Exchange is heavily influenced by Obama cohorts Al Gore and Maurice Strong.

For years now Strong and Gore have been cashing in on that lucrative cottage industry known as man-made global warming.

Strong is on the board of directors of the Chicago Climate Exchange, Wikipedia-described as “the world’s first and North America’s only legally binding greenhouse gas emission registry reduction system for emission sources and offset projects in North America and Brazil.”

Gore, self-proclaimed Patron Saint of the Environment,  buys his carbon off-sets from himself—the Generation Investment Management LLP, “an independent, private, owner-managed partnership established in 2004 with offices in London and Washington, D.C., of which he is both chairman and founding partner. The Generation Investment Management business has considerable influence over the major carbon credit trading firms that currently exist, including the Chicago Climate Exchange.

Strong, the silent partner, is a man whose name often draws a blank on the Washington cocktail circuit.  Even though a former Secretary General of the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (the much hyped Rio Earth Summit) and Under-Secretary General of the United Nations in the days of an Oil-for-Food beleaguered Kofi Annan, the Canadian born Strong is little known in the United States.  That’s because he spends most of his time in China where he he has been working to make the communist country the world’s next superpower.  The nondescript Strong, nonetheless is the big cheese in the underworld of climate change and is one of the main architects of the failing Kyoto Protocol.

***

It may be interesting to note that the Chicago Climate Exchange in spite of its hype, is a veritable rat’s nest of cronyism. The largest shareholder in the Exchange is Goldman Sachs.  Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley is its honorary chairman,  The Joyce Foundation,  which funded the Exchange also funded money for John Ayers’ Chicago School Initiatives.  John is the brother of William Ayers.

***

Even as man-made global warming is being exposed as a money-generating hoax, Obama is working feverishly to push the controversial cap-and-trade carbon reduction scheme through Congress.

Obama was never the character he created for himself in the fairy-tale version in “Dreams of My Father”.  He’s the agent of Change and Hope for cohorts making money down at the Chicago Climate Exchange.

Read Judy’s full report.

What was Brett Stephens at The WSJ just saying? Oh yeah:

Climategate: Follow the Money

In one of the more telling disclosures from last week, a computer programmer writes of the CRU’s temperature database: “I am very sorry to report that the rest of the databases seems to be in nearly as poor a state as Australia was. . . . Aarrggghhh! There truly is no end in sight. . . . We can have a proper result, but only by including a load of garbage!”

This is not the sound of settled science, but of a cracking empirical foundation. And however many billion-dollar edifices may be built on it, sooner or later it is bound to crumble.

Faster please!
