The crowd numbered several thousand, a welcome surprise to some protesters in a state dominated by Democrats.
“It was very important I think because it shows that there is a market here in Massachusetts, a deep blue state, for people who care about the same things as some of the redder states in the country,” said Stephen Moynahan of Marlborough, Massachusetts. “And I’m really encouraged to see everybody coming out here.”
According to the the buzz on Twitter, there was some leftist infiltration:
ConTchr There was only a slim number of moonbat commies compared to the crowd… only 5% were crashers. #BostonTeaParty
ConTchr It was obvious who the moonbats were: Cheech & Chong types – strung out, hung over & just crawled out of parents’ basement. #BostonTeaparty
Here are a couple of the crashers’ signs:
Lame! The crashers were reportedly very impressed with themselves.
Videos from the tea party, including Sarah Palin’s entire speech, here.
A comment from someone who was at the Boston Tea Party:
I served as event marshal today in Boston, keeping the peace, and saw a bunch of fake protesters there. They were incredibly easy to spot, and fooled nobody, even the media. Few attempts at spoofing racism or homophobia as far as I could tell, instead mostly trying to act stupid, presumably like Palin. Weird to see people who were doing their best to try to appear stupid at every opportunity, but who simultaneously *were* being stupid. It was an odd, multilayered effect.
Just in time for Tax Day, another fine video byGOP.gov:
One thing about the Obama Administration that has been “historic”, and unprecedented is it’s profligate taxing and spending. In just over a year, Democrats in Washington have proposed trillions of dollars in new taxes — and passed hundreds of billions in new taxes to pay for their government takeover of our health care.
“As a black lesbian trapped in the body of a straight white man, I am able to pass as a member of the establishment wile still maintaining my oneness with the spirit of the Earf Muvah. I’m currently being sued by my inner child for molestation…but trust me, the charges are baseless.”
I’ll pause until the laughter dies down….
What more:
Levin told the AP Monday, he “had over 65 leaders in major cities across the country trying to recruit members to infiltrate tea party events for April 15.”
The mission of crashtheteaparty.org is simple. “Infiltrate and dismantle” the movement from the inside out. The group’s strategy is to impersonate tea party supporters and portray them as right-wing extremists in front of the news cameras in order to discredit the cause. The biggest Tax Day Tea Party takes place in Washington DC on April 15th.
Levin went on to say “Every time we have someone on camera saying that Barack Obama isn’t an American citizen, we want someone sitting next to him saying, ‘That’s right, he’s an alien from outer space!’”Levin also did not shy away his prior accusations that most tea party supporters are “racists, morons, and homophobes.”
I think there are going to be a lot of disoriented and disillusioned lefties out there, tomorrow, because very few tea partiers fit the stereotypes they want to paint us with.
But the cool part is, every stupid, ignorant thing captured on film, tomorrow, whether it’s a result of their efforts, or not, can be effectively blamed on noted crackpot, Jason Levin.
New Hampshire Democrats are engaged in a statewide search for liberal activists willing to attend so-called tea parties on Thursday and carry signs expressing racist or fringe sentiments, a Democratic source with knowledge of the effort tells NowHampshire.com.
According to the source, who sought anonymity for fear of reprisals, the Dems’ last minute scramble reflects a growing obsession among party leaders that they need to discredit the tea party movement soon or it will overwhelm them come the November election.
Former Democratic State Party Chairman Kathy Sullivan is heading up the search, the source said. Sullivan has been calling and e-mailing liberal activists trying to get them to attend tea parties in different parts of the state and hold signs denying the authenticity of President Barack Obama’s birth certificate and make racially disparaging comments to reporters.
“This is Kathy’s [Sullivan] project,” the source told NowHampshire.com. “She is absolutely obsessed with painting the tea party people as racists.”
Similar “crash the tea party” efforts are taking place throughout the country on Tax Day.
If she pulls it off, this won’t be the first time Sullivan has endeavored to manufacture a racist controversy regarding the tea party movement. Last month Sullivan and other Democratic leaders attempted to portray a “white pride” rally in Concord held by a Massachusetts-based white supremacist organization as a tea party. Sullivan was forced to retract her bogus accusation.
Really, this is bottom of the barrel stuff. Does it get any lower in party politics?
Oh, btw, guess who *hearts* Kathy Sullivan for what she did in NH leading up to the 2006 ” Democratic tidal wave”:
Democrats across America have a lot to learn from what you accomplished, Kathy. I’ll bet.
The Senate Judiciary Committee held a hearing this morning with AG Eric Holder with most Senators asking questions related to the 9/11 terror trials in NYC, capturing OBL, and the plans to close Gitmo.
Michelle Malkin covered the hearings, here, noting that Holder refused to release the names of political appointees at DOJ with national security conflicts of interest.
Senator Sessions appeared on Fox to discuss the hearing, and Holder’s surprising admission that NYC is still being considered as the site to try KSM.
“Look, what was unprecedented this week, was the unprecedented use of the word unprecedented by the President to describe a conference which was completely fatuous.
Gov. Bobby Jindal’s chief campaign fundraiser is recovering from injuries she suffered in a Friday night altercation with a group of people in the French Quarter.
The governor’s office said Monday that Allee Bautsch suffered a broken leg and her boyfriend suffered a concussion and fractured nose and jaw in the alleged incident, which happened after a fundraising event at Brennan’s Restaurant on behalf of the Louisiana Republican Party.
Jindal was at the event, but was not present when the incident occurred.
Jindal spokesman Kyle Plotkin says Bautsch had surgery over the weekend and is facing a recovery time of 2 to three months. He says New Orleans police are investigating the incident and the governor’s office would have no further comment.
The attack happened shortly after a group of anarchists protesting the SRLC outside the Hilton Riverside had dispersed:
This Anarchist report, via Louisiana’s premier conservative blog, The Hayridementions that protesters marched down to the restaurant:
Anarchists took to the streets in New Orleans on Friday to protest the SRLC, marching to the Hilton Hotel, where a banner was hanging from the roof which said “We won’t pay for their crisis. Become the crisis!” —- The march then headed to Brennan’s Restaurant, where a $10,000 a plate SRLC dinner was in progress. Brennan’s is notorious as the largest donor to the LA Restaurant Association, which sued to block a $1 minimum wage raise that was approved by voters in New Orleans in 2002. —- Protesters marched against traffic and lost the police on the way, and attempted to storm the restaurants doors after chants echoed off the walls in the narrow French Quarter streets. The police arrived just as people started to stream through the doors and they pushed everyone back outside. SRLC delegates were forced to walk a gauntlet of protesters chanting “they say cut backs, we say fight back!” as they exited the restaurant.
It was originally reported that the couple was attacked because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins, but that story hasn’t panned out. While it is possible that what happened was a result of random violence, the implications are that it may have been something more.
I was surprised to hear about the story, since I was there over the weekend, (I took the picture above), and never heard anything about it while I was there. But as The Hayride asserts, last weekend was a particularly violent weekend for New Orleans:
But most importantly, while the attack on Allee Bautsch and Joe Brown has significant national importance in defining the true nature of political violence in America, as a local matter it wasn’t the really big news in New Orleans over the weekend. While outrageous and awful, what happened to Bautsch and Brown paled in comparison to the outright carnage that was also going on throughout the city. To wit:
With a police blotter that full, it really isn’t that much of a surprise that an attack which didn’t involve someone dying or gunplay wasn’t an immediate big story. Should what is being reported pan out, however, it’s likely the Brennan’s attack will have more legs than the others.
Here was a scene we came across on our way to the Court of the Two Sisters:
A woman sprawled out in the street – 613 Royal, Sat night
New Orleans has a very high crime rate, no doubt about it.
If it turns out to have been politically motivated, I will be blogging more about it, as it follows a pattern of left-wing violence against conservatives that themedia chooses to ignore.
Superintendent Warren J. Riley and members of the New Orleans Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying several suspects wanted in connection with an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Saint Louis Street . The incident occurred Friday April 9, 2010, at approximately 10:45 P.M. According to investigators, the victims were walking from a function at a restaurant in the 400 block of Royal Street . When they entered the 600 block of Saint Louis Street , three to five Caucasian males made derogatory comments to the 25-year-old female and her 28-year-old male friend. When the male victim turned towards the group of men, one or more of the suspects struck the victim several times. At some point the female victim fell to the ground and screamed. The suspects then fled on foot. Officers in the area heard the female screaming and responded to the scene and broadcasted a description of the suspects and requested Emergency Medical Paramedics. As the female was waiting for EMS , she used her purse as a pillow. When the victim was in the ambulance, she discovered her purse was missing.
The female was transported to a hospital where she was treated for a broken leg. The male victim was also transported to the hospital and was treated for a mild concussion, fractured jaw and nose.
One of the suspects was described as a Caucasian male who appeared to be dirty, in his 20′s, 6’1″ tall, thin build with a thin face. He had a beard and auburn color hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a light color T shirt and dark color pants.
The incident is on-going and detectives are in the process of determining if any surveillance cameras captured the incident.
Investigators are currently working on the incident and at this time the report is not available. Notification will be made to the media when the report is complete and ready for dissemination.
Investigators are in the process of identifying the suspects, as well as a motive. Eighth District Detective Sergeant Nicholas Gernon is in charge of the investigation. Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.

The Freepershave found a picture of a guy from the protest who fits the bill.
See The Hayride for more info about the protesters/anarchists.
UPDATE II (4/14):
The Hayride updates with video documentation that the protest outside of Brennan’s restaurant had turned ugly:
So now we have evidence that the protest at Brennan’s was significantly more intense than at the Hilton, and the protesters were driven away by the police. We know for a fact that some of the Iron Rail people not only organized the relocation to Brennan’s but they were there. We see some pretty explicit animus toward Jindal and the folks who were at his fundraiser.
What we don’t know is that any of the protestors were still at Brennan’s when Allee Bautsch and Joe Brown left, or whether they were involved in the attack. But given that neither were robbed and that the attack on them was a lot more than a little scuffle or a hit-and-run, which is evidence that they were beaten with a purpose, wouldn’t it seem most likely to suspect a relationship?
The New Orleans Police say they’re looking for leads. Perhaps they should look at 511 Marigny Street.
Remember the hateful, insulting and profoundly unfunny cartoon that NPR ran a few months back: Learn to Speak “Tea Bag”?
Just to jog your memory:
The lame attempt at humor demonstrated the political depth and artistic skills of the average 14 year old. But guess what? The guy who created thatjust won a Pulitzer:
It was announced yesterday that Mark Fiore won the Pulitzer Prize, with the Pulitzer committee saying that his “biting wit, extensive research and ability to distill complex issues set a high standard for an emerging form of commentary.”
He’ll be up for a Nobel Peace Prize, too, no doubt.
Obama apologists like to claim that ALL US Presidents bowed to foreign leaders. Where are the pictures of GW Bush bowing? (And no, that video of him leaning over to receive a medal from the King Abdullah doesn’t count). He kissed, andheld hands with the Saudi King- we all heard about that- (ad-nauseam). But I see those gestures as signs of friendship – not weakness and submission. A great hue and cry erupted on the left whenGeorge HW Bush bowed to the Emperor Hirohito’s casket at his funeral, a sign of respect in Japan. I don’t think he would have bowed to a living Emperor Hirohito.
When it comes to greeting world leaders, Presidents have the option of shaking hands, rather than bowing, yet Obama so often chooses to bow. Did other US Presidents bow to Communist Dictators? Only one did, that I know of: Richard Nixon, and no I don’t mean this“Nixon bow“, (not a bow at all) butthis awful one, where he deeply bowed to Chairman Mao during his historic trip to China.
Jeb Golinkin recently wrote a piece at The Frum Forum that inspired a Hot Air Headline News writer (Allahpundit?) to snark, “We’re pretty much sunk in 2012″. Sounds pretty Eeyorish to me. We are NOT sunk, but we the people do need to make it perfectly clear to the party establishment, that fresh faces, with unapologetic conservative principles, are the order of the day. And there are some great conservatives out there who fit the bill.
Newt Gingrich: Gingrich is too old, too polarizing, and too Washington to have a fighting chance at winning the presidency. (agreed).
Sarah Palin: 55% of Americans view her unfavorably. That’s pretty much game over, but even if it wasn’t, the fact that the number holds among independents (55% of them view her unfavorably and 40% of that group said they view her in a “strongly unfavorable” light) also would be a knockout. 41% of all polled view her as strongly unfavorable. In short, that means she can write off 40% of the electorate before the race even starts. Her chances of beating Barack Obama are slim. (agreed).
Mitt Romney: Deemed the “frontrunner” by many, Romney would get destroyed in a general election. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. Flip-flop. The label destroyed John Kerry, and Romney’s propensity to change his mind makes Kerry’s switches look tame to the point of irrelevance. And did I mention that Obamacare looks like Romneycare on steroids? No chance. (agreed).
Mike Huckabee: Christians heart Huckabee. Independents do not. Next. (agreed).
Gary Johnson: Who is Gary Johnson? (Don’t agree - Who was Barack Obama in 2006?)
Rick Santorum: Staunch social conservatives need not apply for the presidency. Santorum tried to mandate the teaching of intelligent design nationwide in 2001. Not a single Latino in America is going to vote for this guy. Neither are independents, moderate Democrats or a lot of moderate Republicans. If he is lucky and Obama does a lot of things very, very wrong between now and 2012, Santorum might… just might lose 65-35 to Obama. (partially agreed…I think staunch social conservatives can and should run for the Presidency, but I do agree that Santorum may be unelectable).
Ron Paul: The man is a fringe lunatic. The answer is no. (agreed).
Mike Pence: Who is Mike Pence? (Don’t agree – see Gary Johnson, above).
Tim Pawlenty: The only candidate of the batch that I am not 100% confident would get absolutely mauled by Barack Obama in 2012. A smart, competent, seemingly likeable candidate. Relatively moderate. But he is from Minnesota and not really popular there anymore. In March, a poll of 500 Minnesotans pegged his approval at 42%. If his own voters don’t like him, it will be hard for him to beat an incumbent in a general election for the presidency. (Don’t agree – I’m not excited by moderates).
I heartily disagree with the notion that unless a candidate has high name recognition with the electorate, he’s unelectable. Who knew who Barack Obama was in 2006? Who knew who Bill Clinton was in 1999 1989? Who knew who the peanut farmer was in 1974?
Mike Pencewould be an especially strong candidate, being a leader in the House, and a strong speaker with impeccable conservative credentials. You can listen to his SRLC barnburner here. And here he is answering questions last Friday in the SRLC media room. Pence is very good at making himself accessible to the media.
The former Governor of New Mexico, Gary Johnson has a bigger challenge ahead of him, because getting his name out there is a bit more difficult a proposition for someone who no longer holds office, but with the right combination of message, charisma, and dumb luck, it’s doable. There’s no doubt in my mind thatMr. Johnson has the right message.
There is a “dark horse” candidate (his words) who hinted that he may be running in 2012:
You can watch the full video atThe Other McCain, and I recommend you do. Cain was one of the best speakers at the SRLC - a charismatic and commanding presence at podium, and his message is pure, unadulterated conservatism.
I asked Herman Cain, when I had the chance, if he was serious about what he had said there, and he told me that “he was just throwing it out there” as a possibility, so yeah, I’d say he’s definitely mulling it over, and perhaps with enough encouragement, he’ll throw his hat into the ring.
There is another fresh face out there – the young, appealing and wonkish Congressman from WI, Paul Ryan, who already has three Facebook pages urging him to run in 2012; the biggest one, here. He may not be considering a run, yet, but I know a lot of people who would love for him to.
So, it’s a little early to get all Eeyorish about our chances in 2012. I think the tea party movement has done a great job of steering the party back to it’s conservative principles. RINOs and Dinosaurs with too much baggage do not get people excited. Pure blooded, articulate, and unapologetic conservatives, do.
I’m not sure about Petraeus…while I’m sure he would be great on National Security issues, I have no idea what his views are where it comes to domestic issues. Have we forgotten about Colin Powell, already?
I’m Mom mentions the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, who I like also, but I think he may be a bit too polarizing a figure for POTUS.
In case you missed this earlier this weekend; Jon Voight read a rather alarming letter to the American people on the Huckabee Show, Saturday. I saw the repeat Sunday night.
In one year, the American people are witnessing the greatest lie that is cleverly orchestrated by President Obama and his whole administration. The lie is a potent aggression that feeds the needs of people who either have not educated themselves enough to understand the assault upon us all or the very poor and needy who live to be taken care of.
President Obama feeds these people poison, giving them the idea that they are entitled to take from the wealthier who have lived and worked in a democracy that understands that capitalism is the only truth that keeps a nation healthy and fed. Now the lie goes very deep and President Obama has been cleverly trained in the Alinsky method and it would be very important that every American knows what that method is.
It is a socialistic, Marxist teaching and with it, little by little, he rapes this nation, taking down our defenses, making new language for the Islamic extremists. The world looked up to us as a symbol of hope and prosperity now wonders what will become of the entire world if America is losing its power.
Strong language…the rest can be read at Newsbusters.
Here are some national tea party organizations in case you’re interested in answering Voight’s call to get involved:
On April 15th, there will be tea parties all across the nation. In the Kansas City area we have two that I know of:
This one hosted by Political Chips, and Resist.netat Community America Ballpark with 980′sDarla Jaye on-site to broadcast her show directly from the Tea Party.
Regardless. All you Tea Partiers, bloggers, and yes, you mainstream media reporters: be aware, the moron shouting racist slogans and holding the sign that looks like something a 3-year-old wrote might be an imposter. Just be aware.

Breitbart’s speech was one of my favorites…Oh, who am I kidding? It was probably my favorite…I get such a kick out of the guy:
True story: At the bloggers bash, Friday night, Andrew introduced us to his lawyer buddy, who he assured us was “no conservative”. He served as Breitbart’s witness that Breitbart predicted everything ACORN, and the “institutional left” would say and do in response to the ACORN sting videos – right down to who would say what….which is why Breitbart dropped the videos one at a time in order to ensnare the media, who kept falling into the trap.
Ron Paul took a myriad of questions, including one pertaining to Senate bill 3081,the Enemy Belligerent, Interrogation, Detention, and Prosecution Act of 2010, which he linked to the idea of allowing the US government to “assassinate it’s own citizens”.
RELATED:
We would later find out, after thinking that Ron Paul was a shoo-in to win the Straw Poll, that Mitt Romney, who wasn’t even there, would edge him out by one vote.
