Remember President Obama’s supposedly inviolable pledge—repeatedly uttered during the 2008 campaign and at countless town meetings since the inauguration—that he would never raise taxes on middle-class citizens who earn $250,000 a year or less?
This morning at a Manhattan breakfast sponsored by Thomson Reuters, White House Budget Director Peter Orszag threw that pledge out the window. Instead, he described Obama’s “read my lips, no new taxes” pledge as a “stance” and a “preference” that is subject to study by the president’s newly-formed bipartisan Commission on Fiscal Responsibility.
Thank God for YouTube, because I’m pretty sure I remember Obama traipsing around the country for two years telling everyone within hearing distance that no one making under $250,000 a year was going to see a tax increase. And I don’t remember it as a suggestion, or a “preference”, but as a firm pledge – a solemn vow that he repeated over and over and over again, ad nauseaam. I say ad nauseam because it was making me physically ill that there were actually people out there who believed him.
A Dem Socialist was going to cut spending and lower taxes. Uh huh. Good God, people.

“Here’s how it works. The European Union’s members and the IMF recently pledged $145 billion in the Greek bailout. Forty billion dollars of that came from the International Monetary Fund. Since the United States pays 17 percent, we are the largest contributor to the IMF. American taxpayers are on the hook for $6.8 billion in loan guarantees from the IMF and it may just be a down payment.
“The EU this last weekend talked about a $1 trillion bailout plan that could put U.S. taxpayers on the hook for $50 billion in additional loan guarantees to bail out Europe.
“Look, the EU was formed to compete with the U.S.A., economically. It is simply not right to ask the people of the United States of America to provide loan guarantees to bail out an economic competitor in Europe. Nobody wants to see the EU fail, but we are not asking their help in New Jersey or California. They shouldn’t be asking our help with Portugal, Spain, or Greece.”
Who can disagree with any of that?

Okay, first of all, as has been pointed out by many others, including Rush, the word, “regime”, Matthews finds so offensive – was used incessantly by Democrats, (including Tingles himself), to describe the Bush administration during the Bush years. You would think that the obvious hypocrisy of that + the fact that Rush has ramped up his use of the word just to bait Matthews…would induce him to lay off, a bit? But no. What a dork.
Secondly, Rush admits he’s only right 97.43% of the time. Occasionally, he gets a fact wrong – like the Shahzad was a registered Dem thing. But Rush isn’t in the business of purposefully misleading people, like Matthews is. Most of what Matthews and his progressive panel, (David Corn, and a Media Matters hack) object to about Rush are his opinions, and his tone. Well, tough – it’s called free speech, and it’s still legal in this country, (but not if liberal- fascists like these guys get their way).
Meanwhile, Matthews actually said on his show a few days ago, that the debt crisis in Greece was caused by right wing governance, when Greece is currently governed by a left wing socialist government, and what we’re witnessing in Europe is clearly, the failure of European styled Socialism. But we can’t have the truth about that coming out while the Obama regime is currently imposing the same failed policies on America. Well done, Chrissy. Alinsky would approve.
Remember the Dems’ ill fated anti-Rush slogan contest from March, 2009? That effort fell flat at the beginning of the Obama regime, and so will this one. No self-respecting Republican (who wants to be re-elected) is going to be seen on MSNBC denouncing Limbaugh.

The White House today posted on its website, a video showcasing Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, speaking “in her own words”. She’s shown chatting cheerfully about her “personal history and perspective”.
The interviewer? – A White House staffer who produces videos for the administration, which CBS News reported “riled” WH reporters:
While the White House seems to believe the American people deserve to hear from Kagan, it has not made her available to reporters. That prompted some consternation at today’s White House briefing.
“It appears that Solicitor General Kagan did an interview yesterday right after the president’s announcement,” said a reporter. “You’ve now posted that on the White House Web site. Who did the interview? And can I have one?”
“I think it’s — I think it’s on the website if you want to see it,” responded Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.
Soon after, the reporter can be heard saying, an edge in her voice, “So a White House staffer interviewing her.”
Gibbs says yes, and the reporter asks if Kagan would like to do another interview.
“She has — she’s not told me that, no,” replied Gibbs, prompting the reporter to respond, “Tell her we’re deeply frustrated.”
This practice of the White House producing their own videos started about a year ago, causing confusion and consternation in the WH press pool when the UCONN Women’s basketball team visited the White House.
ABC News White House correspondent Jake Tapper brings to light this new media operation by the Obama administration.
“Obama White House officials decided to do their own media report on the visit, complete with cuts, interviews, and chyrons identifying who’s speaking,” writes Tapper, while the pool report from the day said: “Your Pool was not allowed to go over and shoot POTUS with the team shooting hoops. We protested loudly.”
Tapper asks, “Do Obama White House officials think their media coverage isn’t flattering enough?”

There’s been much commentary on the President’s commencement speech at Hampton University, Sunday. While many people focused on Obama’s claim that he doesn’t know how to use an ipod, that fuddyduddy! – (uh huh) – my head was exploding over his comments concerning his “truth meter”. Since I was in no mood to cover Obama’s allergy to the truth, (yet again), I focused on other things…like cute kittens!
Luckily, Peter Wehner at Commentary has it pretty much covered. Here’s what Obama said :
You’re coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don’t always rank that high on the truth meter. And with iPods and iPads; and Xboxes and PlayStations — none of which I know how to work — (laughter) — information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation. So all of this is not only putting pressure on you; it’s putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy.
So coming right out of the box, he lied about not knowing how to use an ipod. Who loads his Bob Dylan, Yo-Yo Ma, Sheryl Crow, and Jay-Z songs, I wonder? Michelle? There’s a reason why some have nicknamed the President, “Captain Bullshit”, and it has nothing to do with his race. It has everything to do with the fact that even when complaining about other peoples’ purported lies, he lies!

So, allowing you to compete in the global economy is the first way your education can prepare you. But it can also prepare you as citizens. With so many voices clamoring for attention on blogs, and on cable, on talk radio, it can be difficult, at times, to sift through it all; to know what to believe; to figure out who’s telling the truth and who’s not. Let’s face it, even some of the craziest claims can quickly gain traction. I’ve had some experience in that regard.
Yes, it can be difficult at times to sift through it all when someone keeps brazenly lying to your face.

Remember how poor aggrieved Obama had to create a “Fight the Smears” website during the election to push back on the awful lies (ie-truth) people were telling about him… like the one about how he had more than a passing acquaintance with Weather Underground terrorist, Bill Ayers. What a thing to say!
Seriously. Obama was happy to be pegged as the hipster candidate with his ipod and blackberry throughout the 2008 election year, when he needed the youth vote. But now that he’s President, and bleeding older white male supporters, he’s all golfy and tech-challenged. If his non tech savviness can be compared to Poppy Bush’s supermarket scanner moment, so much the better. There’s something non threatening about a guy who’s a little behind the times. Such a person would never lie to you, or employ Cloward Piven strategy to destroy the economy.

I’m not not sure I buy this idea that Kagan is a “wise choice” for Obama because somehow although she’s liberal – as far as the left is concerned, she’s not liberal enough, so he could have done much worse.

No, I’m not late to this story, I saw it last night before I went to bed. My concern has been that Andrew Breitbart is going to have egg all over his newly bearded face if the story turns out to be false. The left would love nothing better…But he must feel confident that Brad Thor’s report is correct, because he’s beaming it out of all three of his Big sites: Big Journalism, Big Government, and even Big Hollywood.

Reporting the story is a peculiar decision to make on the part of the Big sites (Big Journalism ran it, too), as they usually stay away from major foreign policy journalism. Not to mention that by Brad Thor breaking it, he is putting professional provocateur Andrew Breitbart’s reputation at risk, as well. Breitbart’s sites have rarely broken a story without video evidence, and the Big sites usually shy away from news from outside the US, with the exceptions of denouncing Che Guevara’s war crimes or updates on Hugo Chavez’s crackdown on the Venezuelan media. If he’s right, Breitbart will have branched out as a legitmate source on military intelligence and beaten all of the mainstream media to the punch; if he’s not, he just gave all of the media– not just his enemies– carte blanche to ignore anything and everything he says, a risk that doesn’t seem to be worth the short-term increase in web traffic.

Offensive and unacceptable
Todd Starnes from Fox News Radio reports:
Tracy Hathaway, of Salinas, CA, told FOX News Radio her 13-year-old daughter was ordered to stop drawing the American flag and start another project at Gavilan View Middle School.
“She had drawn the flag and was sketching the letters, ‘God bless America,’ when the teacher confronted her,” Hathaway told FOX. “She said, ‘You can’t draw that – that’s offensive.’”
Even more striking, another student in the same art class drew a picture of President Obama and was praised by the teacher.
“The picture of Barack Obama was in red, white and blue hues,” Hathaway said. “ The teacher said it was great. But when it comes to the flag – all of a sudden it was offensive?”
Hathaway said she took her concerns to the principal – and he was “floored” and apologized for what happened. He arranged a meeting with the Hathaways and the teacher.
“My husband point-blank asked her what she found offensive about the picture – the American flag or the words, ‘God Bless America,’” she said. “The teacher didn’t say a word.”
The superintendent told FOX that he had contacted the principal and that the issue “was taken care of to their (the parent’s) satisfaction.”
“The school administration and the parents did not view this as significant enough to bring it to the superintendent’s office,” he wrote.

It seems the parents found the issue significant enough to bring it to the attention of Fox News. Moreover, Hathaway says her daughter has not yet received an apology, and in fact, the art teacher told her that she shouldn’t have gotten her parents involved in the matter.
Why does this teacher still have a job?

- Rand Paul campaign signs should be removed. Any road side signs should be thrashed, destroyed or defaced.
- Pretend to be a Ron Paul supporter. Just like some of us destabilize the tea baggers by pretending to be them, we can also hurt Rand Paul with this method.
- Here’s some tips when you’re out pretending to be a Rand Paul lunatic.
Those Rand Paul signs you removed from the road side, draw swastikas on them and show up at the polling place pretending to be a tea party supporter.
Tell “fellow” Republicans you support Rand because he:
A, Supports abortions at nine months.
B, Wants to raise taxes and that “we must all do our fair share”
C, Supports the health care bill.
D, Supports Al Qaeda because “Rand knows they are innocent”
E, Republicans are sensitive to 911, tell them you support Rand because he knows 911 was an “inside job”

This latest post at Election Link is so over the top, now I’m wondering if this guy posting as Jason Levin is for real. Would a man who was temporarily suspended from his job teaching at a middle school in Oregon, (but quietly reinstated) endanger his job further by more illegal, ethically-challenged, bizarre, loony-tune online behavior? And if he is for real, what is his game? Is Trey Grayson really a lib, posing as a conservative?
On the one hand, Grayson, who switched parties some time after 1992, when he voted for Clinton, has according to Wikipedia, garnered endorsements from Senator Mitch McConnell, Dick Cheney, Rudy Giuliani, Senator Rick Santorum and Representative Hal Rogers.
But on the other hand, there are disturbing signs that Grayson is a liberal, big government loving RINO; chief among them is this report that he gave the keynote speech at a Van Jones sponsored climate change conference, last year. That is something no true conservative would ever have on his resume. And what conservative would ever say this, for crying out loud. . It’s almost like Levin is a double agent, engaging in counter-espionage operations. His work for “Crash the Tea Party” resulted in no one taking offensive signs at tax day tea parties all across the nation, seriously…(even if some were by actual oddball tea partiers). And now, this latest move tipping people off about the RINO running for the Senate in Kentucky…
It’s just weird, I tell ya.

Jason “Crash The Tea Party” Levin Still Blaming “Teabaggers” For Time Square Bomb
From 9/11/2001 to 1/20/2009 DHS did do an outstanding job keeping us safe. But at some point in the late Spring of ’09, the Obama administration made some changes in the monitoring of terrorist suspects. Now some are speculating that these changes have allowed the terrorist attacks that have taken place on American soil since Obama’s been in office.
We’ve had two successful attacks: the fatal shooting of one soldier and the critical injury of another at a Little Rock, Ark recruiting office by suspect, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad and the Fort Hood shooting in which Nidal Malik Hasan opened fire at a military base in Texas, killing 13 people and wounding 28.
And two near misses: The Christmas Day attack on flight 253 by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab that was only foiled by his ineptly constructed underwear bomb, and the May 1 failed Times Square bombing attempt by Faisal Shahzad, again foiled only by his own inept bomb-making skills.
John Brennan bristled at the charge that we “got lucky” in the last two terror attempts. He evoked the troops, insinuating that it was unpatriotic to criticize the job the Obama administration’s doing to keep us safe.
Senator Lieberman and Rep. Pete King followed Brennen on Fox News Sunday. King in particular has some questions for the administration, that he wants answered.

This Sunday, let’s take a few moments to reflect upon the fact that you cannot choose your family, but you still have the only “right to choose” that matters: the right to choose people who believe that even as-yet unborn people are family.
I was at one of my local haunts when a fellow conservative tossed this video into the comment thread.
I experienced a myriad of emotions as I watched this video. But it got me to thinking, as so many things do these days. It would be easy to say that this racist fellow-traveller has no place in any institution of higher learning anywhere in this country, but I am not so naive. People like him were peddling similar crap when I did my turn at the altar of higher knowledge in the late 1990s. I even believed some of it for an hour or two.
The real problem is not people like him who come in and spew their racist, communist tripe with impunity. The problem is with the politically correct climate on so many campuses that frown on and discourage faculty with opinions in opposition to that of this “revolutionary”.
I am not old enough to remember when the “free thinkers” of academia embraced the PC culture. I only know that it was the dominant viewpoint of faculty and staff of my school, and of those my friends attended. My first time through, I didn’t know enough to be offended. My second time through, I started to openly question the motivations of some of my professors. My third trip through, I understood what the game was, and frequently decided to go against the grain, simply because I could. What I was not prepared for, however, was the ultra-leftist tool from the California University System who spoke at our commencement, and decided to fill his speech with his own less-than unique opinions on politics, rather than speaking about us and the way we were going to make our way in the world. I was distressed as I looked around, and saw the heads of so many other law students bobbing in agreement, and had it not been the only commencement since high school I actually had attended, I might have gotten up and walked out early.
What this video should tell you, other than the fact that this vibrant and knowledgable revolutionary has no clue what he is talking about [No borders and a 'latino' revolutionary front indeed...yeah, tell you Central American brothers to ignore the Mexican border...go ahead. We'll wait.], is that in allowing politics to set the agenda in colleges and universities around the country, we have been sowing the seeds of our own destruction for quite some time. “Higher Learning” is not so much the quest for knowledge or a journey to find truth as much as it is a form of indoctrination. And yet we have entrusted the future of our country to the graduates of these fine institutions without any regard to what it is they actually teach. The cart of knowledge has strayed from the path. The horse won’t stop, and the driver is doesn’t care that it only has one wheel. He is proud of that wheel. He knows that the path it will lead the cart down has gone off a cliff every single time it has been taken, and yet he persists in the belief that his skill as a driver will lead it to their destination, only having gotten there more quickly this time.
It would be easy to continue in the belief that illegal immigration is simply a matter of people seeking a better life, and undoubtedly, this is true for some of them. However, any serious reflection on the reconquista movement should at least raise the possibility that the real goal is an always has been invasion, occupation, and annexation. I can think of no better strategy for conquest without sparking a single battle. Of course, the real issue I have upon thinking this through is that if I could figure this out, then why is it that all the fine experts in our government that the progressives keep telling us we should trust unconditionally couldn’t seem to figure this out, and if they did, why are they doing nothing? More fundamental change of a nation they all profess to love, or is it all part of their endorsement of the driver’s plan?
