Tapes Reveal Moderate, Bridge-building GZ Imam Not So Moderate

Momentum was already running out of steam for the Cordoba bunch, but these tapes, if they’re everything they’re cracked up to be, should stop this juggermosque cold:

Steve Emerson has unearthed 13 hours of audio tape of Imam Rauf. Emerson and his team of investigators has spent the past four weeks going through the newly found material. Rauf  is a “radical extremist cleric who cloaks himself in sheep’s clothing.”

Among the shocking revelations Emerson’s team will reveal next week — they found Rauf:

Defending wahhabism – a puritanical version of Islam that governs Saudi Arabia

Calling for the elimination of Israel by claiming a one-nation state, meaning no more Jewish State.

Defending Bin Laden’s violence

Demonstrating that there is a lot more to this man than merely a cleric.

The American public now sees the “deception perpetrated by all these Islamic groups that claim they are against violence and terrorism and insist that their rights be respected but in reality are fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Emerson states there is “definitely fraud involved in the entities that Rauf created in the last decade that are co-mingled.” Emerson took it to the IRS, who said, “you have a case.”

There is intel that the shady developers, the Gamal brothers, will be going to radical Islamic organizations to serve as connectors — CAIR,  MPAC — so that they do their bidding for the money.

The ground zero mosque organizers aren’t the only ones who will be taking a hit on this. Their simpering supporters, namely the President, most Dems, and the MSM are going to have to answer for it, too. Was it so important for them to oppose conservatives, that they would have allowed the travesty of a terror-supporting mosque to have been  built on top of the graveyard of 3000 Americans? Why is it that 65%-70% of Americans, (including the new Muslim Miss America) have more sense than these idiots?

Remember: You — Obama and the MFM — went out a limb to vouch for this guy, putting the whole of your credibility and judgment behind the proposition that he is a well-meaning, peaceful moderate and you’d have to be crazy to think otherwise.

We know the first, second, and last defense that will be screamed by the left: B-b-but Bush said he was moderate….!

Yeah? And? Bush didn’t stake his political future on the man’s purported “moderation,” either.

Bush made a big show of reaching out to moderate Muslims after 9/11, a noble and worthy effort. Unfortunately, he was fooled by a few of them, including, apparently,  Rauf.

Video:Son of Hamas Mosab Hassan Yousef Rips Ground Zero Mosque

The son of a Hamas founder, and Christian convert Mosab Hassan Yousef  recently avoided an almost certain death sentence, after Obama’s Homeland Security Dept. had scheduled him for deportation back to the West Bank. Last June, suddenly, and without explanation, an immigration judge granted Yousef asylum.

As a former member of  Hamas, he bristles at the thought that the Imam behind Park 51 refuses to acknowledge that the group is a terrorist organization.

“What Bin Laden did on September 11, people are trying to forget…Don’t remind them every day with a stupid project on a graveyard that will open the wound…and pour into it acid!”

Yousef concurs with what other GZ mosque opponents have been saying about the original name for the project, Cordoba House -   it’s a symbol of  conquest, occupation, and aggression.

He calls it a “mosque of division” and appeals to Muslims to reject the project, “let’s not help them!”

Meanwhile…

While I have no idea how many American Muslims oppose the project, mosque organizers are having trouble trouble with one group who will literally not help them build it:

The NY Daily News: They won’t build it! Hardhats vow not to work on controversial mosque near Ground Zero

A growing number of New York construction workers are vowing not to work on the mosque planned near Ground Zero.

“It’s a very touchy thing because they want to do this on sacred ground,” said Dave Kaiser, 38, a blaster who is working to rebuild the World Trade Center site.

“I wouldn’t work there, especially after I found out about what the imam said about U.S. policy being responsible for 9/11,” Kaiser said.

The grass-roots movement is gaining momentum on the Internet. One construction worker created the “Hard Hat Pledge” on his blog and asked others to vow not to work on the project if it stays on Park Place.

“Thousands of people are signing up from all over the country,” said creator Andy Sullivan, a construction worker from Brooklyn. “People who sell glass, steel, lumber, insurance. They are all refusing to do work if they build there.”

ICE Draft Memo Directs Local Police To Stop Enforcing Immigration Laws

The agency whose mission it is to enforce our immigration laws, is circulating draft memos to local law enforcement officers that direct them to not enforce our immigration laws? Have I got that right?

Why does every day in ObAmerica seem more and more like George Orwell’s1984?

Jessica Vaughan from The Center for Immigration Studies, reports:

ICE’s misleadingly-named Office of State and Local Cooperation (OSLC) has announced the next step in the Obama administration’s efforts to drastically diminish the scope of immigration law enforcement. According to a draft policy document now being circulated among a limited group of stakeholders, ICE chief John Morton intends to prohibit not only his officers, but also local officers with 287(g) immigration authority, from busting illegal aliens who are discovered as a result of traffic violations.

Never mind that local patrol officers around the country routinely come across unlicensed illegal alien drivers in unsafe and/or uninsured vehicles, sometimes transporting vanloads of smuggled and illegally employed aliens with stolen identities. Forget the 9/11 terrorists, the Ft. Dix plotters, the Times Square bomber’s money brokers, and the many other notorious illegal aliens who have driven our streets without fear of encountering local cops or immigration law enforcement. Don’t mention that the Colorado State Patrol has eliminated (knock on wood) alien smuggling-related traffic fatalities by implementing a 287(g) program that removed illegal aliens caught driving unsafely on Colorado highways (see “The 287(g) Program: Protecting Hometowns and Homeland“).

According to the draft document’s cover e-mail from Ann Yom Steel, a political appointee whose mission seems to be to harass and discourage local agencies who want to help ICE and who want ICE to help them, the agency is responding to the “many concerns [of immigration law enforcement critics] related to immigration detainers, including that they could distort the state criminal process or open the window for pretextual, minor criminal charges.” In other words, ICE believes the ethnic advocacy groups who accuse local cops and sheriffs of abusing their authority by trumping up traffic charges on innocent illegal aliens in order to have them deported. Therefore, all illegal aliens who violate traffic laws will get a free pass from ICE, unless they also happen to have committed other “real” crimes. The policy draft says: “Immigration officers shall not issue a detainer unless an LEA [law enforcement agency] has exercised its independent authority to arrest the alien. Immigration officers shall not issue detainers for aliens who have been temporarily detained by the LEA (i.e. roadside or Terry stops) but not arrested,” although the LEA may hold them without a detainer if ICE is coming right away (don’t hold your breath).

As Mark Krikorian notes at The Corner, this comes on the heels of last month’s DHS memo on how to create a de facto amnesty without congressional consent.

And the left wonders why Americans are increasingly suspicious and distrustful of the President.

The following video offering from Carol of No Sheeples Here is a meditation on the inappropriateness of the proposed Ground Zero Mosque, which she calls, an “affront to the searing memory of the worst mass murder in American history”.

It’s mind boggling how the President, and the left are getting this so wrong. They are not going to win over hearts and minds with their strawman arguments. They are not going to win over hearts and minds by calling opponents bigots. This is a gut level no brainer for most people.

That’s why the President truly jumped the shark with his “Great Iftar Mosque Speech”.
