Radical In Chief Brands Republicans As Radical Extremists In Latest Stump Speech

A case of projection if ever I saw one:

US President Barack Obama on Friday branded Republicans as extreme and reactionary, in campaign appearances for high-profile Democratic senators under threat in November’s mid-term polls.

Obama rallied crowds in Los Angeles, California, and was to move on to gambling paradise Nevada in a bid to rescue wobbling Democratic Senate majority leader Harry Reid, on the third day of a four-day campaign blitz.

He charged that the first Republican president, his political hero Abraham Lincoln would not be able to win the opposition party’s presidential nomination in the modern age.

“Seriously, can you imagine him trying to run with these folks?” Obama said, in a bid to portray the Republican Party as outside the mainstream ahead of November 2 congressional polls in which his Democrats fear heavy losses.

Ever the community organizer…ever the divider…he now tries to divorce one of the country’s most beloved Presidents away from Republicans. He would probably like to  say the same thing about Martin Luther King, too, but King’s Republican relatives are still alive to object.

“This agenda that poses as conservatism is not conservative. It resulted in a radical shift from record surpluses to record deficits, allowed Wall Street to run wild, nearly destroyed our economy,” Obama said.

“This is a choice between the past and the future, between fear and hope, between moving backwards and moving forwards. And I don’t know about you, but I want to move forward,” Obama said, at a campaign event for under-fire Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer.

“They are clinging to the same worn-out, tired, snake-oil ideas that they were peddling before.”

We, the bitter clingers, are still clinging, I get it. What I don’t get is how these radical and extreme Republicans could be on the verge of taking over both houses of congress, since obviously, they hold such “extreme”, “extremist”, “outside the mainstream” views…

Dr. Krauthammer explains all:

Opening a whole new branch of cognitive science — liberal psychology — Obama has discovered a new principle: The fearful brain is hard-wired to act befuddled, i.e., to vote Republican.

But of course. Here Obama has spent two years bestowing upon the peasantry the “New Foundation” of a more regulated and socially engineered, and therefore more humane, society, and they repay him with recalcitrance and outright opposition. Here he gave them Obamacare, the stimulus, financial regulation, and a shot at cap-and-trade — and the electorate remains not just unmoved but ungrateful.

Faced with this truly puzzling conundrum, Dr. Obama diagnoses a heretofore undiscovered psychological derangement: anxiety-induced Obama Underappreciation Syndrome, wherein an entire population is so addled by its economic anxieties as to be neurologically incapable of appreciating the “facts and science” undergirding Obamacare and the other blessings their president has bestowed upon them from on high.

Does Obama consider  his supporters at the One Nation rally to be the mainstream, then?  The ones who carried the Communist Party, Socialist Party, World Answer, Code Pink, big labor etc, etc banners?

Because he would be quite wrong about that…

… there is nothing simpler than the Gallup findings on the ideological inclinations of the American people. Conservative: 42 percent. Moderate: 35 percent. Liberal: 20 percent. No fanciful new syndromes or other elaborate fictions are required to understand that if you try to impose a liberal agenda on such a demonstrably center-right country — a country that is 80 percent non-liberal — you get a massive backlash.

Most of us understand the the 20%,  “One Nation” kook fringe crowd, are the ones who are way out of the mainstream.

But Obama tries to convince his gullible followers that the majority of Americans are the extremists…

The mind reels.

UPDATE:

This figures. Obama’s been butchering a famous Lincoln quote in order to transform him into some sort of big-government Democrat.

“But in the words of the first Republican President, Abraham Lincoln, I also believe that government should do for the people what they cannot do better for themselves”.

Hands off Texas done looked it up:

I assume he was paraphrasing this actual quote from President Lincoln, but unfortunately he left out the most important part:“The legitimate object of government, is to do for a community of people, whatever they need to have done, but can not do, at all, or can not, so well do, for themselves in their separate, and individual capacities. In all that the people can individually do as well for themselves, government ought not to interfere.”

Obama doesn’t get it. And he clearly doesn’t get Abraham Lincoln.

Mr. President, while we’re all encouraged that you look to President Lincoln for guidance, let me share with you some other words of wisdom from our 16th President:

“You cannot build character and courage by taking away a man’s initiative and independence.”

“Don’t interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties.”

“We the people are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts, not to overthrow the Constitution but to overthrow the men who pervert the Constitution.”

More at the link.

So he’s been using that misappropriation as a basis for his assertion that the Republicans wouldn’t accept Lincoln, today?

Pitiful.

Doug Ross: Great: MSNBC’s Lean Forward Branding Campaign Omits “Creator” from its Version of the Declaration Coincidentally Just Like Barack Obama:

MSNBC’s latest brainstorm — the hilarious “Lean Forward” campaign — uses a carefully edited recitation of the nation’s founding document. It omits any mention of God (though it does depict gay marriage).

We hold these truths to be self-evident. That all men and women have certain unalienable rights. Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness.”

It can’t be a coincidence. It conforms precisely with President Obama’s new version of the Declaration of Independence, which he is said to have recited on five separate occasions.

The founders got it wrong, you see – The creator has nothing to do with unalienable rights. Our rights can only come from government. And it can take them away, too, on a whim.

From calling Tea Party members “Tea Baggers,” to saying that “the evaporation of 4 million” Christians would leave the world a better place, to suggesting that God could give former Sen. Jesse Helms or his family AIDS from a blood transfusion, NPR’s personalities have said some pretty un-PC things in the past. A look at the record reveals no shortage of intolerant statements and unbalanced segments on the publicly sponsored network’s airwaves.

The Washington Times (with another wonderful picture of our President): Obama’s message to rally party base is still a work in progress:

First, he took on President George W. Bush, then, he switched to direct attacks on House Minority Leader John A. Boehner, and now, in his search for the right message to rally Democratic voters, President Obama is accusing outside groups of trying to buy this year’s congressional elections through shadowy campaign ads.

The evolution suggests that the White House has struggled to settle on a working message as Mr. Obama crisscrosses the country in a bid to drive voter turnout by dangling red meat in front of his base ahead of the crucial congressional midterm elections on Nov. 2.

It’s the ol’ “spaghetti strategy”, and it’s falling flat.

Video: The Turk Song

Oh my gosh, kids today can be so amazing…

14 year old, Nehemiah, a big Turk supporter, wrote this song with a little help from his friends:

The lyrics:

Welcome to the war,
Between what’s wrong and what’s right,
Where people try to turn
this into black vs white,
And the country seemed to change
Almost overnight,
And we’re turning over freedom’s
Without a fight,

Tea parties rose up,
Tryin’ to change the current tide,
Protesting higher taxes,
Bailouts and healthcare lies,
Social security is crumbling right before our eyes,
We are all Americans, why can’t we unite?

CHORUS
Well there’s a breath of fresh air,
Outside the stench of Washington,
Let’s finish the job, that the grassroots have begun,
No more career politicians who vote down party lines,
It’s time to tell Cleaver to take a hike!

Turk is a man,
Who says what he means,
Seems to understand,
That he works for you and me,
Will represent the 5th district to DC,
Not try to ignore us while he votes party.
Former businessman, former marine,
Working class man, not part of the machine.

Chorus

Cleaver voted for the healthcare bill,
Loves cap and trade,
Supports big government,
Takin’ us back to Carter days,
And I don’t know about you,
But my generation,
Is rising up,
To fight over-taxation,
And that’s why we know,……

CHORUS
There’s a breath of fresh air,
Outside the stench of Washington,
Let’s finish the job, that the grassroots have begun,
No more career politicians who vote down party lines,
It’s time to vote conservative and give Turk a try!!

Repeat Chorus

It’s time to vote conservative and give Turk a try!!

I am so impressed!

Future Speaker: Why Are We Funding A Left-Wing Organization? (Updated)

Now we are  talking.

In an exclusive to National Review Online’s Robert Costa, John Boehner said:

…I think it’s reasonable to ask why Congress is spending taxpayers’ money to support a left-wing radio network — and in the wake of Juan Williams’ firing, it’s clearer than ever that’s what NPR is.”

Read his full quote at NRO.

This follows Sarah Palin’s Facebook post from earlier today: Juan Williams: Going Rogue

At a time when our country is dangerously in debt and looking for areas of federal spending to cut, I think we’ve found a good candidate for defunding. National Public Radio is a public institution that directly or indirectly exists because the taxpayers fund it. And what do we, the taxpayers, get for this? We get to witness Juan Williams being fired from NPR for merely speaking frankly about the very real threat this country faces from radical Islam.

Would Republicans have the spines to actually do this?

Fingers crossed!

I Can Think Of Some Programs I’d Like To See Cut

That Jan Schakowsky Is Really Something, Ain’t She?

This political spectrum, which can be seen up close at GovTrack.us is fascinating. The image is generated through a statistical analysis of the cosponsorship of bills in the 110th-11th Congresses (2007-09). Yes, that’s DSA member, Jan Schakowsky on the very far left, to the extreme! 100 miles to the left of her closest competitor, (Barbara Lee, of CA).  Raul (Boycott AZ!)  Grijalva of AZ comes in a close third.

We all know Jan from her infamous single payer health care  speech: “This is not a principled fight!”, right?

Once again, she was  caught on tape, making statements not meant for all ears, as she beckoned supporters to do “What We Do In Chicago”.

“We have a tradition of knocking on doors, of pulling people out…Here’s our message: I don’t get off your doorstep, until you go out and vote, That’s our message!”

Chicago’s own Backyard Conservative,  Anne Leary believes Schakowsky’s Chicago Way Thuggery is on Display:

She’s under 50%. She’s being outfundraised. So Leftist machine Democrat Jan Schakowsky threatens her constituents. Video via RCP.

Make no mistake, this is a threat.

Schakowsky is explicitly encouraging Democrats to commit the crime of intimidation.

Under Illinois law, intimidation is defined to include acts performed with the intent to cause another person to perform an act (e.g. voting) under threat of inflicting physical harm on the person threatened or on property, or to subject the person threatened to physical confinement or restraint. That is the intended effect of a Schakowsky representative refusing to leave the doorstep until a resident has been “pulled out” to go to the polls and vote.

You know what this reminds me of? Union tactics, specifically the sort of thug tactics used by the SEIU in Fresno, in their union election, last June.

It’s worth noting that Schakowsky gets 60% of her PAC donations from unions, which, I guess is why she earned the nickname, “SEIU’s Jan Schakowsky ” in Chicago circles.

Nearly 60 percent of Schakowsky’s Political Action Committee (PAC) contributions come from organized labor. Among her biggest individual donors are the Teamsters Union; public employee unions such as the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU); the American Association for Justice (formerly known as the Association of Trial Lawyers of America); and the AFL-CIO, whose President John Sweeney is a member of DSA.

I Can Think Of Some Programs I’d Like To See Cut

Throughout this entire election year, liberals have been trying to pin down conservatives on “what programs they would cut”, to reduce spending. Many Republican candidates have struggled to answer the question because they know the left will make political hay with whatever answers they give. No matter how unworthy, and wasteful a program is, there are going to be many people negatively affected by its removal. Still,  there are plenty of good answers to the question, and you can see some of them at You Cut, a website House Republicans launched earlier this year. You Cut asks citizens each week, to vote for programs they would like to see cut.

A list of previous winners:

Week One: Cut the New Non-Reformed Welfare Program ($25 Billion Savings)

Week Two: Eliminate Federal Employee Pay Raise ($30 Billion Savings)

Week Three: Reform Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ($30 Billion Savings)

Week Four: Sell Excess Federal Property ($15 Billion Savings)

Week Five: Prohibit Hiring New IRS Agents to Enforce Health Care Law ($15 Billion Savings)

Week Six: Taxpayer Subsidized Union Activities ($1.2 Billion Savings)

Week Seven: Prohibit Stimulus Funding for Promotional Signage (Tens of Millions)

Week Eight: Prohibit Sleeper Car Subsidies on Amtrak ($1.2 billion Savings)

Week Nine: Bipartisan Proposal to Terminate AEITC ($1.1 billion Savings)

Week Ten: Require Collection of Unpaid Taxes From Federal Employees ($1 billion Savings)

Week Eleven: Reduce Government Employment to 2008 Levels ($35 billion Savings)

I have a suggestion for an upcoming vote. How about NPR and PBS?  Why are these bastions of leftist ideology taxpayer subsidized?  Why do Republicans put up with it? It reminds me of the stupidity of putting up with taxpayer money going to friggin’ ACORN for all those years. It’s time we put a stop to it.
-
Juan Williams is guilty of saying something that contradicted a favorite liberal narrative: that Islam is a religion of peace, and anyone who suggests otherwise is an despicable Islamophobe who should be shunned from polite society.
-
Seton Motely says in The Arena, in reference to Juan Williams’ firing:

As indicated by their ridiculous 2009 demand that Williams stop being identified on “The O’Reilly Factor” as a “senior correspondent for NPR” – which is of course what he was. That NPR would sacrifice the tremendous exposure for their network – O’Reilly’s show being the top cable news show now for more than a decade – on the altar of ideological irrationality is just another indicator of how far ‘round the bend they are. And should have served as a warning to Mr. Williams that, sadly, the end was nigh.

That NPR has become little more than a progressive echo chamber was further evidenced by NPR ombudswoman Alicia C. Shepard’s assertion at the time that Williams was:

(A) “lightning rod” for the public radio organization in part because he “tends to speak one way on NPR and another on Fox.” Shepard said she had received 378 listener e-mails in 2008 listing complaints and frustrations about Mr. Williams.

CPB – broadcasting by leftists, for leftists.

I’m sorry for Mr. Williams, though I am sure he will be fine. But this situation again begs a question. Why are taxpayers – the vast majority of whom are on Nov. 2 going to demonstrate that they reject progressivism – forced to subsidize a public broadcasting empire that champions it?

Blogger round-up on Juan Williams’ firing from NPR:
-
Everybody’s got something to say about it…
-
Just a reminder but NPR didn’t fire a cartoonist who insulted tea party attendees. Apparently that kind of thinking is consistent with their editorial standards and practices.

I’m sure in the coming days people will dig up plenty examples of NPR reporters insulting Christians, America and other groups but not losing their jobs over it. As always, it’s just one group that gets super-protected status and it just happens to be the one that is so peaceful, they will kill you for insulting them.

Fox Nation: WATCH: Juan Williams Explains How NPR Fired Him

Video: How “Fired Up” Are Niki Tsongas’ Supporters In MA-5?

The 5th congressional district in Massachusetts,  another House seat in play, voted for Scott Brown last January, but  Brown is a RINO, and Golnik is a conservative, so the question is, how fired up are MA-5 constituents for their candidates? Judging from this video of the  rallies before the Golnik/Tsongas debate in Westford, Wed night, there’s not a lot of enthusiasm in MA-5 for Tsongas.

The Weekly Standard had this to say about the race:

The businessman from Carlisle is facing congresswoman Niki Tsongas, the widow of legendary Bay State Democrat Paul Tsongas. Niki Tsongas first won the Fifth District seat–which includes old industrial towns like Haverhill, Lowell, and Lawrence–by just 6 points in a 2007 special election (51 percent to 45 percent). Tsongas was unopposed in 2008, when Obama carried the district by 20 points.

“I’m running against an incumbent who votes 98 percent of the time with Nancy Pelosi and the leadership in Washington, D.C.,” Golnik said. “Her rhetoric is that she’s bipartisan, her rhetoric is that no one tells her how to vote, her rhetoric is that she’s in the district every weekend. Now we just know this not to be true. If you have to say it, chances are you’re not doing it.”

***

So can this conservative win in Massachusetts? Even in Harvard, where Martha Coakley beat Scott Brown by nine points, there are bumper stickers and yard signs for Jon Golnik everywhere. The built-in advantage for Democrats, who outnumber Republicans 3 to 1, is a tough hurdle to clear, but it’s the fifty percent of voters unaffiliated with either party that he’ll be targeting with his message. Golnik, in explaining the importance of his fundraising, described the state of the race in stark terms.

“We can’t project our message without raising the money,” he said. “If we can’t project our message, we can’t win.”

Looks like he’s doing a better job projecting his message than his opponent.

I Thought Everyone Knew That The Phrase “Separation Of Church And State” Was Not In The Constitution

I’m guessing most of us  know by now that Christine O’Donnell was purposefully misquoted by a WaPo reporter to make it look like she didn’t know that the establishment clause was in the 1st amendment.

No surprise there, we all know that libs lie, especially during election season.

But, really….. I thought everyone knew that the words “separation of church and state” was not in the Constitution.  This is news to libs????

Even the Senate Majority Leader and Vice President of the United States?

Reid said this to a crowd of about 500 people in Reno, today:

“Two months ago she said, get this, that there’s no such thing in the Constitution as separation of church and state,” Reid said. “Try the First Amendment. “If my opponent wants to run on her constitutional expertise, she should at least know what’s in it.”

Biden chimed in with:

“Having one person with such extreme views is not such a big deal,” Biden told the crowd of about 500 people. “But folks, folks they’re all over the place. This ain’t your father’s Republican Party. “These women, mean it. They mean it. It would be different if it were a campaign tactic. But they mean it.”

This ain’t your father’s Democrat party, Hoss. It’s been dumbed down and painted red, the sooner people realize it the better.

The always brilliant, Ann Coulter: CHRIS COONS LIED, GRANNY DIED

In all of life’s tribulations, there is nothing so aggravating as being condescended to by an idiot. In last week’s CNN debate in the Senate race between the astonishingly well-spoken Christine O’Donnell and the unfortunate-looking Chris Coons, O’Donnell had to put up with it from Coons for 90 minutes.

O’Donnell wiped the floor with Coons, moderators Wolf Blitzer and Nancy Karibjanian, and the idiotic University of Delaware students asking questions — all of whom were against her.

(With the nation on the verge of another great depression — the brunt of which, to my delight, will fall most heavily on college students — guess what the dunderheads asked? GUESS! That’s right: They asked about abortion “in the case of rape or incest,” “don’t ask, don’t tell,” doing something about “our carbon footprint,” and the kook-minister who was going to burn Korans, because ISLAM IS A RELIGION OF PEACE, I TELL YOU!)

O’Donnell’s responses couldn’t have been better if Thomas Sowell were whispering them in her ear.

The Intolerant Fox Details Her Experience with Election Fraud In Illinois

Multiply this one anecdote by thousands/millions?, and you begin to see how endemic this problem is.

I never “early-vote” because voting on Nov. 2 is like Christmas to me. It’s symbolic, I like the day, I get all jazzed to go do it and I wear my “I voted” sticker on my forehead for the whole day. I’ve always been suspicious of early voting. Why give the crooks 2 whole weeks to pull off their ballot stuffing? One day is time enough! Make them scramble, I say. But this year I noticed an early voting sign at the village and I decided I had the time and, being a busy mom, who knows what my Nov. 2 will look like this year. So I tried to vote. This was the beginning of a crazy chain of events that are still unfolding. Warning: The following may make your head explode.

“I’d like to vote please,” I said to the girl behind the window. After checking my drivers license, an act which shocked me since I didn’t think anyone checked IDs anymore when voting, I was denied due to “not being in the system.” The rather cranky and dour girl at the village reluctantly called the Will County Clerk to find out what happened since I remembered registering in April at the Midlothian DMV. The Will County Clerk said they had no record of it and if I wanted to vote I would have to drive a half hour out of my way to the Clerk’s office in Will County and register AGAIN and vote there before the 26th of Oct. If I had waited until November 2, I am not sure if I would have been denied my vote entirely, but that’s what it sounded like. (Can one vote if one is not registered?)

Needless to say, I was hopping mad. I went home and called Will County myself and relayed my problem. They called the Secretary of State’s office and confirmed that I did, indeed, register to vote in April but upon checking their rolls for that day, neither my name nor my registration was present. The DMV never sent it. Now, what you must understand is that Illinois does not have “open primaries” where anyone can vote in any primary. Here, you must register as a Republican or a Democrat so you can vote in your respective primaries. I’ve never thought this was a good idea. What is to stop some union-slave Democrat who works in the DMV from sneaking registered Republican registrations into the garbage? What’s to stop the (totally Democratic county of Cook) from hiding Republican registrations?

Read the whole maddening thing, she’s just getting started.

I am so with her on the early voting thing.

That’s one of the issues I want Republicans to take up when (if?) they regain power. We have to stop allowing these Democrat Socialists from stealing elections.

A woman who identified herself as Dora Narvaez told The Kansas City Star she worked as a housekeeper for the Blunts for six months around 1990, roughly the same time she sought political asylum in the United States.

But the congressman’s campaign said Narvaez “never worked for the Blunts” and that any official aid he may have provided as Missouri’s secretary of state was routine constituent service for a person “who helped out at a couple of church events.”

Did the Star verify her story before they ran it? Have they been able to provide a shred of evidence that she worked for the Blunts.  Nope. It’s just her word against his.

Then there’s this:

Democrats released an exchange of letters between Blunt and the head of the Immigration and Naturalization Service at the time — a well-known Missouri Republican — and said the Senate candidate was clearly working to provide special treatment for an “illegal worker.”

Okay, that’s their October surprise. Blunt tried to help an illegal immigrant who he knew from church, and we’re all supposed to be outrageously outraged.

Sorry, KC Star. Weak tea.
-
The Blunt campaign, stating the obvious, called the charges “desperate, dirty politics.”
-
The Star reports that Robin Carnahan declined to comment Tuesday on the immigration matter.

Video: Krauthammer Says, “If Obama Gets More Arrogant, He’ll Be Napoleonic”

There really is no possible way to exaggerate Obama’s arrogance. If anything, this is an understatement…

Via Greg Hengler at Townhall. Watch to the end and witness some spectacular special effects:

Obama has a point, though. Some of us ARE kinda scared….

More commentary on Obama’s epic arrogance, from Michael Gerson at the Washington Post: Obama the snob

“Part of the reason that our politics seems so tough right now,” he recently told a group of Democratic donors in Massachusetts, “and facts and science and argument [do] not seem to be winning the day all the time is because we’re hard-wired not to always think clearly when we’re scared. And the country is scared.”

Let’s unpack these remarks.

Obama clearly believes that his brand of politics represents “facts and science and argument.” His opponents, in disturbing contrast, are using the more fearful, primitive portion of their brains. Obama views himself as the neocortical leader — the defender, not just of the stimulus package and health-care reform but also of cognitive reasoning. His critics rely on their lizard brains — the location of reptilian ritual and aggression. Some, presumably Democrats, rise above their evolutionary hard-wiring in times of social stress; others, sadly, do not.

Though there is plenty of competition, these are some of the most arrogant words ever uttered by an American president.

Name the competition…who’s in the same league as Obama?

Gerson’s ending quote would make a great tea party sign:

One response to social stress doesn’t help at all: telling people their fears result from primitive irrationality. Obama may think that many of his fellow citizens can’t reason. But they can still vote.
