Combining two DOJ scandals, Iowahawk rawks the internet with: New Scandal at DoJ as Illegal Guitars End Up In Hands of Mexican Drug Lords:
WASHINGTON – Today’s uncovering of secret multi-agency program for shipping illegal Gibson guitars to Mexican drug cartels left red-faced officials of the U.S. Department of Justice scrambling for an explanation amid angry calls for a Congressional investigation.
“I have ordered all agency personnel to fully cooperate in any Congressional inquiries, including all reasonable document request, as soon as we can redact them with Sharpie pens and lighter fluid,” said U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder.
The secret program came to light early this morning in the border town of Nogales, Arizona, after what was described as a wild battle of the bands between members of the Sinaloa cartel and Los Zetas, two of Mexico’s most notorious violent drug gangs.
“Usually these guys are armed with Mexican Strats and Squires, Epiphones, small caliber stuff like that,” said Pedro Ochoa, 36, an eye witness to the sonic melee. “This time they were packing the heavy firepower.”
The steady barrage of power chords and piercing solo attacks attracted the attention of nearby U.S. Border Patrol agents, who arrived at the scene just as Los Zetas broke into Led Zeppelin’s ‘Immigrant Song.’ By the time the dust had cleared, U.S. Border Patrol Agent Oscar Jimenez was found in a catatonic state of headbanging. He was later flown to University of Arizona Hospitals, where his condition is listed as seriously rawked.
The spandex-clad suspects were able to flee back into Mexico, but not before abandoning their arsenal of axes – the quality of which shocked Border Patrol agents.
“I’ve been working the border for over 25 years and have never seen a weapons cachet like this,” said Patrol Supervisor Mike Foreman. “A ’53 Goldtop, a ’59 Black Beauty, Flying V’s, a whole armory of SGs. Enough for an entire guitarmy. It’s a wonder there weren’t any total shreddings.”
Michelle Malkin piles on with: Paparazzi President at work: (featuring the photographic stylings of the hardest working man in Washington, Obama’s White House photographer, Pete Souza.)
Last week, Souza was hard at work making President Obama look hard at work while vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard.
Souza’s Twitter feed and Flickr uploads serve as Agitprop Central for all White House-approved, Behind-The-Scenes Leadership Glamour Shots. Such visual hagiography is to be expected in any administration. But the hasty frequency with which the White House “Message: I’m working here, I’m really working here” photos have been disseminated over the past few weeks is striking. In fact, it’s become a runningjokenow on Twitter.
Jack Cashill, The American Thinker: Early Obama Letter Confirms Inability to Write:
Obama was prompted to write by an earlier letter from a Mr. Jim Chen that criticized Harvard Law Review’s affirmative action policies. Specifically, Chen had argued that affirmative action stigmatized its presumed beneficiaries.
The response is classic Obama: patronizing, dishonest, syntactically muddled, and grammatically challenged. In the very first sentence Obama leads with his signature failing, one on full display in his earlier published work: his inability to make subject and predicate agree.
“Since the merits of the Law Review’s selection policy has been the subject of commentary for the last three issues,” wrote Obama, “I’d like to take the time to clarify exactly how our selection process works.”
If Obama were as smart as a fifth-grader, he would know, of course, that “merits … have.” Were there such a thing as a literary Darwin Award, Obama could have won it on this on one sentence alone. He had vindicated Chen in his first ten words.

President Obama’s much-anticipated jobs speech will undoubtedly cover more of the same things that already haven’t worked. He will propose an infrastructure bank, extension of unemployment and food stamps, promotion of green jobs, more government-corporate partnerships, and a one-year extension of the payroll tax reduction. He’ll advocate a second stimulus. He may be flanked by his jobs commission, headed by the CEO of General Electric, which earlier issued a lame interim jobs report.
His speech will not be about jobs. Instead, it will be a campaign speech in disguise.
Obama cannot propose a real jobs program. His constituents would rebel. A real jobs program attacks too many of the core beliefs of his party, such as minimum wages and higher taxes on the better off.
So what is the endgame here? Is Obama happy to risk total collapse of the financial system in order to get re-elected? Or is the collapse part of the plan to begin with?
Btw, Obama’s big job speech has been delayed until next week. They’re probably trying to find a new and exciting way to package the above mentioned proven failures.
Yep, it was really him…Gateway Pundit: Obama’s Illegal Alien Uncle Held By ICE After Drunk Driving Arrest:
President Barack Obama’s long-lost uncle was arrested for drunk driving in Framingham in August, and is now being held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement as an illegal immigrant, the Australian Times is reporting.
According to the paper, Onyango Obama, 67, was arrested outside the Chicken Bone Saloon in Framingham at around 7 p.m. on Aug. 24. Police say he nearly crashed his Mitsubishi 4×4 into a police cruiser before failng a breathalyzer test.
First we had Teddy (the Swimmer) Kennedy, then we had Billy Carter, then Roger Clinton, then uh, Aunt Zeituni and Onuango Obama. Anyone notice the common denominator?

ExxonMobil, the world’s largest energy company, filed a lawsuit against the federal government for canceling an oil-drilling lease in the Gulf of Mexico that held “billions of barrels of oil,” according to the company.
In the suit, filed Aug. 12 in federal court in Louisiana against Interior Department Secretary Ken Salazar and related parties, Exxon alleges that the Interior Department made an “arbitrary, capricious” decision in canceling the deepwater leases, arguing that the government’s action “deprives ExxonMobil of property without due process of law.” ExxonMobil lawsuit filing..pdf
Not enough outrage has been expressed about WI Justice Ann Walsh Bradley’s abusive claim of abuse. Prof. Jacobson hopes to rectify that.
As discussed on Thursday, the investigative file shows that the accusation was false and misleading. Read my post, Turns out WI Justice Ann Walsh Bradley was the one with the anger management problem, for the details.
Prosser never choked Bradley, much less used a chokehold, even though Bradley told the public otherwise and sat by as Prosser was widely vilified for having choked Bradley.
There is another aspect of this case, however, which is just as troubling as the false accusation of a chokehold. Bradley has cynically use of the very real problem of workplace safety as both a sword with which to attack Prosser and a shield to deflect from her own aggressive conduct which precipitated the incident.
Whatever was the past history of acrimony on the Court, there was only one person on the Wisconsin Supreme Court who initiated a physical confrontation with another Justice, and that person was Bradley.
Remember when we had a president who loved America?
DaTechGuy’s blog: He’s right, He’s right they can’t both be right on Social Security:
in Des Moines, when a reporter asked about the suggestion that his campaign was backing off some positions in the staunch states-rights book, Perry said, “I haven’t backed off anything in my book. So read the book again and get it right.”
So who’s right, Perry and the Right or the left? If you look at the question with a smart eye it’s clear who is right.
Why, because Santorum has made the argument that many of our fiscal issues have their origin in social changes that have been harmful to our nation.
The reason Social Security is in big trouble is we don’t have enough workers to support the retirees. Well, a third of all the young people in America are not in America today because of abortion, because one in three pregnancies end in abortion.
And it’s not just the culture of Abortion, it’s the culture of birth control and of Children as a burden vs a blessing.

Lee Stranahan: The Liberal Response To #GuitarGate
Is government overreach of the kind we see in the Gibson Guitar story an issue liberals could care less about? I’d bet my middle finger if the Bush Administration had done this, it would be front and center on left wing sites. But Obama? Holder? Not so much. Did a Google Search – it’s all conservative blogs talking about this. Here’s a screen grab – Malin, Red State, Breitbart, Hoft and so on..
