Arsenal of Fast and Furious Weapons Found in Cartel Leader’s Home In Mexico

AP photo, The LA Times

Pat Dollard sums up the motive behind the Obama administration’s gun-walking operations:

Eric Holder intentionally flooded Mexico with guns in order to then blame Arizona gun dealers, and then crack down on them. Obama admitted to Jim Brady’s wife, Sarah, “We’re working on gun control “under the radar.” He was talking about “Fast and Furious”.

The LA Times reports:

Reporting from Washington—

High-powered assault weapons illegally purchased under the ATF’s Fast and Furious program in Phoenix ended up in a home belonging to the purported top Sinaloa cartel enforcer in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico, whose organization was terrorizing that city with the worst violence in the Mexican drug wars.

In all, 100 assault weapons acquired under Fast and Furious were transported 350 miles from Phoenix to El Paso, making that West Texas city a central hub for gun traffickers. Forty of the weapons made it across the border and into the arsenal of Jose Antonio Torres Marrufo, a feared cartel leader in Ciudad Juarez, according to federal court records and trace documents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The smugglers’ tactics — quickly moving the weapons far from ATF agents in southern Arizona, where it had been assumed they would circulate — vividly demonstrate that what had been viewed as a local problem was much larger. Six other Fast and Furious guns destined for El Paso were recovered in Columbus, N.M.

“These Fast and Furious guns were going to Sinaloans, and they are killing everyone down there,” said one knowledgeable U.S. government source, who asked for anonymity because of the ongoing investigations. “But that’s only how many we know came through Texas. Hundreds more had to get through.”

Meanwhile…

Newsmax is reporting on the increased calls for Holder’s head:

Pressure is intensifying rapidly for the resignation of Attorney General Eric Holder over the fatally flawed Operation Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal — with Rep. Paul Gosar demanding that Holder quit immediately and Arizona sheriffs saying he should be fired if he won’t resign.
Gosar, an Arizona Republican, issued the call for Holder’s resignation on “Fox and Friends” today.

Meanwhile, Rep. Darrell Issa said on “Fox News Sunday” that his House Oversight and Government Reform Committee may issue subpoenas against top Justice Department officials as early as this week over the controversial Operation Fast and Furious gunrunning scandal. The California Republican indicated that some government actions in the Fast and Furious scheme of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) could have been felonious.

Arizona sheriffs would welcome such subpoenas, as they called Friday not only for Holder to step down or be fired but also for President Barack Obama to instigate an independent investigation into the controversy.

And U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, who has been dogging Fast and Furious along with Issa, maintains that Holder is stonewalling their investigations — and he’s tired of it. I always tell every agency . . . that I have been investigating, the longer you stonewall, when the truth comes out, the more egg you are going to have on your face,” the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee told Newsmax last week.

Via The Other McCain: Issa’s Appearance on Fox News Sunday With Chris Wallace:

Key quote: “This  investigation is not about an operation that was supposed to trace guns – this is about the Justice Dept knowing (and this is where the American people have a right to know more) – knowing that these guns were deliberately intended to go into the hands of the gun cartels without any kind of traceability – except if you  find the gun at the scene of the crime. That is the reason that this is a felony stupid (and I use the word felony, deliberately) program.”

Understatement of the year: “This should be criminal to let criminals to have thousands of deadly weapons.”

Bob Owens of PJ Media dismantles Holder’s weak and pathetic Politico oped: Gunwalker: Punch-Drunk Eric Holder Swings Back at Critics, Hits Self:

Despite the continuing collapse of the attorney general’s defense — or perhaps in response to it — Holder went on offense late Friday with a scathing letter to the chairmen and ranking congressional committee heads investigating the scandal, seeking to both attack his critics and, incredibly, call for more gun control.

Holder’s ostensible excuse for attacking those trying to investigate his department — other than keeping himself out of prison — was to claim that he:

…could not sit idly by as a Majority Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform suggests, as happened this week, that law enforcement and government employees who dedicate their lives to protecting our citizens be considered “accessories to murder.”

Holder appears to have been passive-aggressively attacking Arizona Rep. Paul Gosar, who repeated a similar claim Wednesday. Unfortunately for the embattled Holder, Gosar was only relaying the thoughts of his state’s law enforcement community. While Holder’s lawyers were vetting his letter for release, ten Arizona sheriffs — five Democrats and five Republicans — came together to call the gun-walking operations “a betrayal of state law enforcement.” The sheriffs demanded President Obama appoint a special counsel to investigate, and stated bluntly that Attorney General Holder should resign or be fired. Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu stated:

We want to get to the bottom of this. One, to find out what truly happened, and two, to ensure this never happens again. This is not political. This is a public safety issue, this is a threat against our deputies and local officers, not only in Arizona but across the Southwest.

It was an earlier statement by Babeu and cited by Rep. Gosar that Holder criticized:

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu recently pointed out: “If somebody gives a gun to somebody knowing they’re going to commit murder, guess what we call them? … We call them accomplices.”

Holder no doubt chose to castigate the congressman instead of the front-line law enforcement officers who are our soldiers in this conflict against the very narco-terrorists Holder’s Department has allegedly armed in ten cities in five states with enough weapons to arm a U.S. Army division.

Jack Kelly of the Pittsburgh Post Gazete: Impeach Eric Holder

The attorney general has lied to Congress

It’s time for Congress to impeach Attorney General Eric Holder.

Congress may remove from office “all civil officers of the United States” if they are convicted of “treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors,” the Constitution says (Article II, Section 4).

Only the House of Representatives can impeach, which is comparable to indictment. The official is then tried by the Senate, where a two-thirds vote is required for conviction.

The Constitution doesn’t say what constitutes “high crimes and misdemeanors,” but perjury surely is among them. So is obstruction of justice.

I’m for impeaching him, and then prosecuting him for his crimes.

This What Educational Failure Looks Like

The expression is that “A picture is worth a thousand words”.

This one is the ultimate intellectual expression of the American Left. In it, one sees the contempt that they have for other people’s achievements, and those who help perpetuate society by safeguarding those achievements and keeping the peace. Any discussion of the inconvenient truth that no matter WHO leads it, Marx/Commu/Socialism will never work is wasted on people who can find eloquence in excrement.  They are blind to a political and economic system that allows the individual to “pursue happiness” by taking responsibility for their own destiny, rather than being yoked to a collective standard chosen by other people.

I have had exchanges with some of the #OWS (Occupy Wall Street) supporters this week on Twitter.  All condemn the “greed” of Wall Street, while being completely blind to their own envy and sense of entitlement to what these “evil” greedy people have. They rail against corporations for their lack of “accountability to the people”, and refuse to acknowledge that corporations answer to their shareholders and the government, and were designed that way, instead of focusing their attentions on the people who were always intended to be accountable to them: elected officials.

They tell their sob stories of hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt for their MFA degrees and living in parents’ basements, unable to get food stamps for their cats, or jobs that allow them to pay back their student loans. Each adds their plaintive voices to a chorus of whiny stories that call themselves “We Are the 99%” as opposed to the evil, greedy 1% of rich people who they feel entitled to “take” from. I’d call them “We Are The Falsely Entitled”. They talk about “new” economic models where workers have a say in how businesses are run, and how they have to “collapse the system” in order to build a society that is “fair” and doesn’t pick winners and losers, which is utter nonsense.  If society didn’t pick winners and losers, then you should be able to go to the corner store and purchase an ice cold Chrystal Pepsi for yourself.  They are immune to the suggestion that it is reasonable and understandable to be angry about a government that picks winners and losers, when its role is to act as referree.

This insistence on “fairness” is the expression of the naive and those blinded by envy, both of whom are eminently willing to surrender a potential that they have been tricked into thinking that they do not have, or that they are too afraid to command for themselves, to people only too willing to harness for their own ends. In either event, their childish notion of “fairness” pervades their demands and beliefs. A fairness that betrays opportunity for a physical equality, doled out by beneficent “rulers” who decide what is best for all and make it the assigned task for society.

But what I find the most offensive is that this segment of society, clinging to their Noam Chomsky readers, talking about the need for greater Democracy everywhere, and approving of every new law made by activist federal courts over the last 40 years utterly rejects the Democratic apparatus we already have.  It is urgent to “collapse the system” because “The Corporations” make all the choices for them, leaving the voter with only Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee when the time comes to cast the ballots. When you point out the flaws in this thinking, such as the success that the Tea Party had in backing and electing candidates in 2010, they only offer the electronic equivalent of a blank stare, followed by “That can’t be right. I saw all about the Tea Party is bad on MSNBC.”

When you suggest that if they really are the 99%, then it should be any problem for them to field and elect their own candidates, the only response is mumbling about corruption. And when you suggest that they simply don’t have the right to “collapse” a system that everyone else in society relies on, and has built their lives around, then they don’t have much to say at all, other than to condemn you as one of the 1% or as someone being led by the nose by that 1%.

As ridiculous as they appear to be, their ignorance and their appetites are dangerous. This is a mob that largely has no understanding of civics, of their political history, both the one that is their birthright, and the one they stupidly embrace, and yet believe that society can and should provide them with a life free from want, difficulty, or hard labor. They demonstrate no understanding that the democracy they cry out for is, at its core, only what 50%+1 wants, or that without safeguards for the minorities that are part of the system they want to collapse, they will inevitably be part of the 49%. While I don’t want to spare them the impact of learning that lesson firsthand, I do not want to live in the environment that would teach them, because revolutions are messy, and the temptation for the rest of the world to interfere is too great.  That means that we HAVE to engage them, and let them know that they are nowhere near being 99%, and that the only reason this has gone on this long is because the rest of us had to get up and go to work in the morning.

The purpose of the rally was to raise awareness and fuel outrage about the Gibson Guitar raid, a massive abuse of power that has become all too common in Obama’s gangster government. The TN Report has been covering the issue, and posting pictures of the rally on Twitter:

“I don’t think any other issue has captured the passions of tea partiers like this one has in the last year,” said Ben Cunningham, a blogger and spokesman for Tennessee Tax Revolt.

“There is near universal agreement among the tea party and conservative groups that the raids — the one that occurred in August and the one that occurred two years ago — were an overreach by the federal government. It was an abuse of power and authority,” said Cunningham.

The purpose of the “We Stand With Gibson” event is to say to the federal government, “Back off,” Cunningham said during a press conference Wednesday.

There were musical performances from Eric Lee Bedingfield, Grant Austin Taylor, Madison Rising and Rivoli Review.

Noel Sheppard at Newsbusters: Martin Bashir Attacks Herman Cain During Eulogy For Civil Rights Leader Fred Shuttlesworth

For the second day in a row, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir used the death of one man to attack a completely unrelated conservative.

Having disgustingly besmirched Sarah Palin in the middle of his eulogy for Apple’s Steve Jobs Thursday, Bashir on Friday went after Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain as he paid his respects to Reverend Fred Shuttlesworth (video follows with transcript and commentary):

John Bershad of Mediaite thinks we’re being a little to hard on Bashir. After all, this is apparently how he grieves. Not everyone handles grief the same way, you know…

We all handle death differently. It is one of the things that makes us most human. So how can we fault Bashir for finding a method that works for him? Sure, the only way he can get over the loss of someone important to him is to randomly connect that person to a politician he didn’t like, but, hey, whatever helps get him through, right?

I can only assume, though, that this practice probably made things rather awkward as Bashir family funerals. I can imagine it now…

Video: Sheriff Babeu Blasts Obama and Holder In NRA Interview: “We Couldn’t Make This Stuff Up In Our Wildest Nightmares”

While we wait for the video of the AZ Sheriffs press conference in Phoenix,  you need to watch this video of Sheriff Babeu expressing righteous outrage at the Obama administration. The video is two days old but Babeu absolutely sizzled as he blasted the Holder Justice Dept. for its “complete betrayal.”  He said they are  clearly engaging in a cover-up and outright conspiracy which has “risen to the level of criminal.”

Responding to the idea that Holder “misunderstood” Issa’s question during his testimony, Babeu said, “To be honest, I’ve heard better excuses from a simple shoplifter – criminals lie all the time..it is so obvious.”

Then he launched:

“2000 semi automatic, fully automatic AK 47s, 50 caliber rifles, my deputies don’t even have this firepower in AZ and we’ve given it to these people we’re fighting, and now the Atty General of Mexico has been attacking the US publicly, demanding accountability, demanding criminal charges against the government. And President Obama who’s gone on this worldwide tour to apologize for America (which I’ve always disagreed with, and been embarrassed by) – the one apology he should be making is to Mexico. 200+ people according to their attorney general have been murdered – have been killed by these very weapons that Holder and his group of accomplices have handed to them. And now, Brian Terry a hero in our border patrol, who served as a police officer, who served in the US Marine Corps, was murdered on American soil, in my state, and you’re about to hear the Sheriffs out here unleash upon Eric Holder. We asked for help to fight against the cartels, to fight illegal immigration, secure the border, and what we got back was a lawsuit, to sue our state, to fight us for  enforcing the law – the very job that we’re sworn to do – put up billboard signs in my county warning American citizens that it’s not safe to travel because of drug cartels, and now they’ve armed the very enemy we’re fighting…This for us is more than personal — our deputies, our citizens are going to be facing in the future the barrels of guns that our own government has given to criminals. We couldn’t make this stuff up in our wildest nightmares.”

He went on, “this clearly was a plot by our government (I’ve never been one to buy into conspiracies – but this is as clear as day to me) It’s as clear as day to me this was an effort by Barack Obama, Eric Holder and Janet Napolitano to make an aggressive assault against 2nd Amendment rights to bear arms…”

He further said, “We are calling them out, the gig is up”

You can sign Sheriff Babeu’s petition, here.

That presser should be dynamite.

Friday Free-For-All

Photo via The Transom.

My immediate take on Reid’s “nuclear option”, when I saw it trending on twitter, last night, was — how is this not a profoundly short sighted rule that won’t come back to haunt them when Republicans get the majority? Of course this was a tyrannical move on Reid’s part, but also a desperate, short-sighted one.

Michelle Malkin: Dirty Harry Reid goes nuclear…on Obama’s jobs bill vote; Cornyn: “Tyranny”

Hey, President Obama? How about another press conference tomorrow to condemn those playing politics, putting partisanship over country, changing the rules, and playing games with your jobs bill? No, not Mitch McConnell and the Republicans.

Dirty Harry Reid and the Democrats.

Philip Klein at Beltway Confidential: Reid rewrites Senate rules with shocking move:

Tonight, McConnell made what’s called a “motion to suspend the rules,” to allow a vote on the amendments. Such motions are almost always defeated, because they require a two-thirds majority to pass. But they’re another way for the minority party to force uncomfortable votes. Even though the minority party doesn’t get a direct vote on the amendment, how somebody votes on the motion becomes a sort of proxy for such a vote. In this case, for instance, if Democrats had voted down a motion for a vote on Obama’s jobs bill, it would have put them in an awkward spot.

Though it’s been the standing practice of the Senate to allow such motions by the minority, tonight Reid broke with precedent and ruled McConnell’s motion out of order, and was ultimately backed up by Democrats.

So, the end result is that by a simple majority vote, Reid was able to effectively rewrite Senate rules making it even harder than it already is for the minority party to force votes on any amendments. Should Republicans retake the Senate next year, it’s something that could come back to haunt Democrats in a major way.

Who’s behind these protests? Left-Wing Institute For Civil Discourse: The Nefarious Actors Behind #OccupyWallstreet:

Via The New American:

Labor unions, communists, “community organizers,” socialists, and anti-capitalist agitators have all joined togetherto “Occupy Wall Street” and protest against “greed,” corporations, and bankers. But despite efforts to portray the movement as “leaderless” or “grassroots,” it is becoming obvious that there is much more going on behind the scenes than meets the eye.

Billionaire financier George Soros’ fingerprints, for example, have been all over the anti-Wall Street campaign from the very beginning. And this week, the infamous hedge-fund boss publicly announced his sympathy for the protesters and their complaints about bailouts — despite the fact that he lobbied for even greater unconstitutional handouts to bankers in 2009.

“Actually I can understand their sentiment, frankly,” he told reporters while announcing a large donation to the United Nations. “I can sympathize with their grievances.”

But Soros’ support for the protesters goes far beyond his tepid public statements. In fact, the original call to “Occupy Wall Street” came from the magazine AdBusters, an “anti-consumerist” publication financed by, among other sources, the Soros-funded Tides Foundation.

Other Soros-backed outfits promoting big government — some with myriad ties to the Obama administration — are also publicly driving the occupation campaign. MoveOn.org, for instance, has received millions of dollars from the billionaire banker. And now, the group is urging its supporters to join the Occupy Wall Street movement as well.

Weasel Zippers: Jeffrey T. Kuhner: “Obama’s October Revolution”:

(The Washington Times) — President Obama’s shock troops are marching in the streets. Occupy Wall Street — a movement composed of communists, anarchists, socialists and anti-globalization student radicals — is spreading. Protests have swelled in cities including New York, Washington, Los Angeles, Chicago, Denver and Philadelphia. The protesters are gaining influence and numbers. A ragtag group of hippie students has turned into a potent political force.

Occupy Wall Street seeks to demonize big banks, large corporations and capitalism. Its goal is to overturn America’s economic structure. The protesters are calling for wealth redistribution, fees on bank profits and massive tax increases on the rich. Many are demanding a socialist revolution — the confiscation of private property and nationalization of the economy. They are the heirs of Karl Marx, Friedrich Engels and Vladimir Lenin. Their aim is to impose the hammer and sickle upon America.

Rush Limbaugh was on the same page as Kuhner, yesterday on his show. See RCP for video: Rush Limbaugh: Obama Setting Up Country For Riots:

This thing just didn’t bubble up out of nothing. We now find out George Soros money is behind this, and there’s no doubt in my mind that the White House is behind this. I wish I could tell you who, but a very prominent person asked me to never mention his name in this regard, but for months he has been telling me, “You watch, Rush, do not doubt me,” he said to me, “Obama is setting up riots. He is fanning the flames for riots and eventual violence. That’s all he’s got.” And now you look, all of this talk about millionaires and billionaires and people not paying their fair share and this relentless assault on achievement in this country has resulted in what? The appearance of a spontaneous combustion of angry white college students who are fed up with all the injustices that this country is famous for. That’s his base.

Occupy Wall Street is his base. Those are his foot soldiers. The anarchists, the union thugs who are occupying Wall Street, Obama is now going to run for reelection against Wall Street, and all of these schlubs in this protest march don’t understand that Wall Street and Obama are inseparable.

New York legislators are getting death threats now if they don’t tax the millionaires, and my very prescient friend wanted me to say this on the air, wanted me to warn people. “I’m not gonna say that. I’m not gonna predict the president of the United States wants riots,” but he was a very, very, very prominent individual; and we’re on the verge of it here. You get this many people together and you whip ‘em into this kind of a frenzy over things they don’t even really know about? They’ve got a bunch of energy, and it’s gonna have to have an outlet somewhere. But all these people down there occupying Wall Street, this is his base — and he admitted it! He expressed his solidarity, ’cause those are his campaign foot soldiers down there. He can’t turn his back on them this close to the elections.

Her second, “America By Heart,” hit number two on that list eventually selling about one million copies.

Is that nothing, Mr. Bashir?

As for television, this pompous commentator could only dream of getting the five million viewers Palin did for the debut of her show on TLC.

And maybe that’s at the heart of all the media’s hatred of this women: it’s not her politics, but how so many more Americans are interested in her views than theirs. Video: Herman Cain Sticks To His Guns In Hostile Interview With MSNBC’s O’Donnell

If I were one of Herman Cain’s adviser’s, I would caution him against hostile interviews like this one. Every single question was drenched in racial, or class war-fare  politics.  Yet, despite (avowed Socialist),  Scary Larry’s repeated, and frankly pathetic attempts to paint Cain as an “Uncle Tom”, Cain came out smelling like roses.

See Freedom Lighthouse for parts two and three of this interview:

If that were not bad enough, O’Donnell later also tried to make it look like Herman Cain “avoided” service to his country during the Vietnam War. He asked Cain how he managed to do that. Cain explained his draft board asked him to continue his work in ballistics for the Navy rather than join the military because what he was doing was important. Cain was a mathematician at the time. He also explained he made himself available for the draft, but his number was not called, and he continued his work for the Navy in ballistics. O’Donnell then went after Cain for not joining the military – “like John Kerry did” – ignoring that Cain had already explained that he was serving the nation through his work for the Navy in ballistics, and that his Draft Board had actually asked him to do so.

Not only did Cain hold is own in the face of  O’Donnell’s hectoring, he said he would come back and have a chat with him, anytime.

9 Sheriffs To Call For Holder’s Resignation in AZ Press Conference, Fri

It’s about damn time, someone stepped up. Obama’s in full CYA mode.

Here’s what he told reporters today, when asked about the scandals enveloping his administration:

“Now, with respect to Solyndra and Fast and Furious, you know, I think — you know, I have been very clear. That I have complete confidence in the Attorney General Holder in how he handles his office. He has been very aggressive in going after gunrunning and cash transactions that are going to these transnational drug cartels in Mexico. There has been a lot of cooperation between the United States and Mexico on this front. He’s indicated he was not aware of what was happening in Fast and Furious. Certainly I was not. And I think both he and i would have been very unhappy if somebody had suggested that guns were allowed to pass through that could have been prevented by the United States of America,” President Obama said at a news conference on Thursday.

“He’s assigned an Inspector General to look into how exactly this happened and I have complete confidence in him and I have complete confidence in the process to figure out who in fact was responsible for that decision and how it got made,” Obama added.

Via Gateway Pundit:

The Inspector General Holder hired to get to the bottom of it is widely understood to be in the tank for the administration. In other words that report will be a complete white wash. So would any report coming from a Special Counsel appointed by Holder or Obama..

ABC 15.com, out of Phoenix reports:

Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu and nine other elected sheriffs will hold a press conference to discuss ATF’s “Operation Fast and Furious.” 11am, Arizona Peace Officers Memorial, Wesley Bolin Plaza, Phoenix.

Kent Terry, the brother of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry who was viciously murdered with assault weapons supplied to the cartels by our own government said, “My family and I are very thankful for the Sheriff’s of Arizona and the fact they are helping us demand justice for my brothers murder.”

Former Pentagon Spokeman Takes Charge as Herman Cain’s New Communications Director

pic via JD Gordon Communications

Birthday Boy, RS. McCain has the scoop:

Saturday, I was the first to report that former Pentagon spokesman J.D. Gordon was taking over as de facto press secretary in the wake of Ellen Carmichael’s resignation. Today, I had my first phone interview with Commander Gordon, USN (Retired) — a career Navy man, like my co-blogger Smitty — and was quite impressed.

Commander Gordon understands my “never burn a source” rule, so most of our conversation occurred somewhere in the range of “background,” “off-the-record,” and “don’t ever breathe a word of this to anyone.”

First things first: In reporting the story Saturday, I got some things wrong and must now clarify any misperceptions accidentally created.

Gordon joined the Cain campaign on Sept. 1 and his title is “Vice President, Communications; Senior Adviser, Foreign Policy & Security.” This reflects Gordon’s dual areas of expertise, as a career public affairs officer with extensive knowledge of national security. (You can read his biography here.)

Gordon was recruited to help inform Cain on foreign policy and military issues — which many of Cain’s critics saw as weak-points for him.

In other Hermain Cain news…Herman Cain: Wall Street Protesters ‘Should Go Figure Out What America Is All About’:

When asked about the thousands of people that have been protesting in lower Manhattan, Cain said, “They’re basically saying that somehow the government is supposed to take from those that have succeeded and give to those who want to protest. He added: “That’s not the way America was built.”

Cain said people should instead protest the White House and President Barack Obama because the president has not created jobs. Bankers and others on Wall Street have created jobs, he said.

“They’re protesting in the wrong place,” Cain said. “I’m not sure I know why they’re there. If they’re there because they are jealous of Wall Street and bankers and people who have succeeded, then they’re there for the wrong reasons. This country is based on people who achieve their dreams and work.”

He added that the protesters “should go figure out what America is all about.”

Compare that straight talking awesomeness with this putrid pablum via Gateway Pundit:Barack Obama: Americans Are Frustrated… With Banks:

President Obama said Thursday that the Occupy Wall Street protests show a “broad-based frustration” among Americans about how the U.S. financial system works.

Speaking at an East Room news conference, Obama said he has monitored the movement, which has spread to dozens of cities nationwide.

“I think it expresses the frustrations the American people feel, that we had the biggest financial crisis since the Great Depression, huge collateral damage all throughout the country … and yet you’re still seeing some of the same folks who acted irresponsibly trying to fight efforts to crack down on the abusive practices that got us into this in the first place,” he said.

This from a guy who, according to Business Insider is raking in the donations from Wall Street::

One-third of the Obama re-election campaign’s record-breaking second-quarter fundraising came from sources associated with the financial sector.

Mittens “brushed aside” any talk of the protests during a brief stop in Tallahassee on Wednesday.

“I’m just trying to occupy the White House,” Romney said.

It Begins…Democrats Introduce Bill to Seal Obama’s Presidential Records

Bryan Preston At PJ Tatler reports:

According to Judicial Watch, Rep. Edolphous Towns (D-NY) has introduced the Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2011. That bill would do with Obama’s presidential records what Obama has already done to his personal and collegiate records: Seal them up.

In an obvious effort to protect President Barack Obama, a group of congressional Democrats has introduced legislation to create an official process that will allow the commander-in-chief to keep presidential records secret after he leaves office.

Rep. Edolphous Towns

Ironically, Obama revoked a similar George W. Bush order in one of his first official acts as president. In 2001 Bush penned an executive order severely limiting public access to his presidential records. Shortly after swearing in, Obama killed it as part of his much-ballyhooed commitment to government transparency. At the time, the new president claimed that he was giving the American people greater access to “historic documents.”

Keep reading. Hypocrisy – Thy Name is Obama.

The bill is called the Presidential Records Act Amendments of 2011.

Judicial Watch reports:

The veteran Brooklyn congressman (Edolphus Towns) who recently introduced the law in the U.S. House has yet to explain why it’s necessary. What’s certain is that Obama has failed miserably to keep his promise of running the most transparent administration in history.

Dems must not be all that terribly confident about his prospects in the 2012 election if they’re already trying to help him cover his tracks.

Video: Michelle Malkin on “Fast and Felonious” – “We Need An #OccupyJustice Movement”

There were a number of excellent soundbites from Michelle Malkin’s appearance on Hannity, last night, where she talked about the latest in the  “Fast and Felonious” scandal.

She passionately argued that we need an “#OccupyJustice” movement led by grassroots folks who care about the rule of law” – a popular movement against this corrupt, stonewalling Justice Department.

Like me, she is  skeptical of a DOF/WH appointed Special Counsel – “allowing the foxes at Justice to guard the hen house.”

Malkin has the latest on Fast and Furious on  her blog, today – including Obama’s remarks at his presser, today:

Update 11:40am Eastern – Obama is asked a brief question about any concerns he might have about how his administration has handled Fast and Furious. Obama reiterated his “complete confidence” in Holder.

Yep. Complete confidence is the DOJ’s ability to whitewash its culpability away. No follow-up.

Ugh.

Holder is definitely going down.  The only question is – will he step down voluntarily, at Obama’s request, or will he have to be impeached.
