Today, The Tea Party Express “Restoring the American Dream” bus tour kicks-off in Cranberry Township, PA. It is their 6th national bus tour.
Tea Party Express has hosted over 300 rallies across the country. The organization will be traveling with several speakers and entertainers, including Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer; Our Country Deserves Better PAC Chairman Howard Kaloogian; Mike Holler, author of The Constitution Made Easy; Entertainer Lloyd Marcus who wrote The Tea Party Anthem; Diana Nagy who preformed live during the Tea Party Republican Presidential Debate on CNN; conservative youth rapper Polatik; and comedian Jim Labriola who is famous for his role on the popular TV show “Home Improvement.”
Chief Strategist Sal Russo of Tea Party Express said, “This tour’s route focuses on some of the key states for 2012 on either the Presidential or Congressional level. We have already endorsed five candidates for the U.S. Senate, and we will be making more endorsements while on this tour. Our goal will be rallying activists in support of some of the upcoming primary election battles and the general election.
They are scheduled to make a stop in Kansas City, at 11:30 a.m. on May 2. They’ll be in St. Louis at 6:00 p.m. More information on the tour schedule can be found here.

WOO HOO they are coming to my city, just a few miles from my house! We plan to be there with our grandsons waving flags. The boys are not quite three and not quite one. We want to make sure they are there for this event!

Carlos, don’t give up, but I suggest refocusing on issues that affects working Americans (supporting the Koch brothers is not helping working families) and develop possible solutions … this can be done with conservative values.

Yeah, tlip, I decided in my retirement that I wanted to work again, and I didn’t want to support anyone like those eeeviiiil Koch Bros., so I walked up to a homeless beggar on a corner in this town and asked him if he had any permanent, part-time work for me.
Musta been the “part-time” part that got to him ’cause he just told me to get outta there before he took a knife to me.

If tlips ever really voted Republican, we should send a helper to the booth with him next time to help him mark down the Dems he really should have been voting for all along. Anybody who thinks that an article written by 2 leftwing thinktankers and based on, well, nothing, really, “sums up why I’m leaving the Republican Party” should never have been in the GOP to begin with.
The only thing in the article that wasn’t just hot air and supposition was the continued whining about Allen West’s “80 commies in Congress” statement. I don’t have much heartburn with him calling the Congressional Progressive Caucus communist, because just skimming over their website you find they want:
o A national manufacturing plan
o A national investment bank
o To provide “direct employment” in the public sector
o Negotiating prices with drug companies
o The public health insurance option
o HIgher income taxes, higher SS taxes, higher gas taxes
Not strictly communist, but definitely trending towards central planning and replacement of private sector services with federal services. That ain’t capitalist.

The strategy had sort of exhausted itself by 2009 – too many conservatives were on to it.
But, we still see occasional “concern troll”, or “Moby” like tlips, a textbook case.
I allow him to continue commenting here to allow my commenters to learn from his example, how to spot and positively identify this type of (not always insidious) troll, because they’re sure to increase in number as the election year continues.

How does it feel to be part of a herd (mob) of sheep? – You can continue to say that I’m some liberal (not true) guy trying to disrupt your political family. Either you were always badly suited for the party, or you are are as I strongly suspect, (and as your online activities seem to confirm) – a leftist posing as a “moderate”. You’re not the first Moby I’ve run across here and elsewhere, you see. You people are a dime a dozen and easy to spot because you don’t accept or understand conservative arguments. tlips why are you ashamed of being a Socialist? Why the pretense? Enbrace it. There’s a whole Christian theology you can point to to justify Socialism. Liberation theology (which was condemned by Pope John Paul II) or Marxist Black Liberation theology.

Public schools? Hmmmmm. The district in which I reside, yes, but that is largely because the teachers actually care, and in being in a community with 2 military installations, they don’t dare go prog-tarded on our kids either.
In communities like Detroit, no, I really don’t support the public schools. Complete and abject failure in the purpose of educating children and a “to the death” defense of their dysfunctional monopoly, education and the benefit to the children be damned means that they simply aren’t worthy of it.
Public roads…hmmmm. Well, I support the purpose for the Interstate system. I understand the need for roads to be able to drive across town, and postal roads are a function of Congress according to the Constitution…but having driven the “public” roads back East, and the toll roads there, I confess, I LIKE the toll roads.
Public libraries? Well, that is almost exclusively a local function, which means that each community gets to decide for itself what the priorities of that library should be, and how much it should offer.
Public water and sanitation? Here’s a news flash for you. I live in a private water district, and my sanitation management is done by a private carrier. I’ve lived in places that have done both, or one or the other “publically”, and I’ll take paying private companies to do both every day of the week.
Oh…I’m sorry. Did I point out that your meme-fu is weak?

That would be libertarians, not Tea Partiers nor Republicans. Another liberal meme – that Objectivism forms some fundamental part of the Republican platform. Most of the conservatives I know have read some of Rand’s work, but few accept Objectivism as a working philosophy. Instead they use her stories of the failures of collectivist states as a cautionary tale, a tale which has turned out to be very relevant in these times.

I love this particular bit of idiocy. Apparently the Left never got the memo that it never made sense. But then, they never understood the difference between federal spending, state spending, and local spending. It’s all just one big pot of free money to them. So when people talk about trying to reign in the federal deficits and mounting debt, libs always start squawking about services that are paid for at the state and local level. Pinheads.

The second is that conservatives, who are more charitable than liberals, believe that local, personalized giving is superior to centralized charity at the federal level. It is more rewarding for the giver and is more tailored for the recipient. It also doesn’t lend itself to bureaucratic sprawl, as federal spending does.

One of your nanny state heroes, Jesse Jackson, made his fortune running welfare programs back in the 60s and 70s, tlip. Yeah, THAT Jesse Jackson. He certainly didn’t get that rich by peddling his theology (or lack thereof).
Talk about a waste of taxpayer money!
One of the nasty truths (Algore calls them “inconvenient, but I settle for “nasty”) about federal government welfare programs is that they are very specifically not designed to aid the poor, but to provide ever-expanding and controlling jobs for certain elitist-type (read: entitled) mentalities, and the vast majority of federal monies spent in welfare programs goes to the administration of those programs, not to the targeted populations.
But of course you won’t check that out, will you, tlip? Nah, too much trouble. And besides, everyone knows that virtually every dime designated for food, housing, medical care, etc., goes to the needy. Right?
