Seconding Ace: It’s Time to Boycott NBC

Ace of AoSHQ is P/Od, as we all should be: NBC Attacks Romney As Racist, In Prime Time:

At Newsbusters.

Boycotts never work but I really, really want to get a national boycott of NBC going. Just take them out. They’re barely hanging in as a network anyway. They are ready to fall, ready to become some kind of half-network like the CW.

I’ve been saying it all year; the Dem media complex is going full gangbusters with the race card this election season and NBC/MSNBC have been the worst offenders . I  tracked their race card deployments, last winter until the task became too overwhelming. The regime thinks it won in 2008 partially due to “white guilt”, so they paint the GOP as the party of racists and try to convince people to vote for the (half) black guy so they can feel good about themselves. It’s a psychological gambit one wouldn’t think would work a second time around – but look how much time and  effort they’re putting into it.

J.T. Hatter of The American Thinker had this to say about the Democrats’ racial demagoguery, this year:

The most poisonous aspect of this race is the Democratic Party political tactic of racial slander.  The Democrats can’t campaign on Obama’s stellar accomplishments as president, and they can’t attack Romney’s qualifications.  Most Americans agree with Romney’s policies.  So the progressives are playing the race card.
To the Democrats and the mainstream media, this is war.  They now have the political power to advance their leftist ideology and they will stop at nothing to keep it.  The progressives aren’t merely playing the race card.  They are deploying the entire deck in a scorched-earth policy.  If you oppose the Democrats, then you are a racist.
***

The current mainstream media propaganda sound bite lineup is as follows:

  • Voter ID and poll-watching equal suppression of minority votes.  Shades of Jim Crow.
  • Racist code words uttered by Republicans will be regularly discovered and interpreted by the media.
  • Racist remarks and actions by Democrats do not exist.  And those that do will be ignored.
  • Attacking President Obama is racist by definition.
  • Supporting or voting for Romney is racist by definition.

***

According to the Daily Caller, Matthew “Mudcat” Arnold, national campaign manager for the liberal super-PAC CREDO, toldsupporters in Aurora, CO that calling Republicans racist was a more effective tactic than criticizing their policies.Americans will pay the price for the racial hatred being incited by the Democrats and their media shills.  The price will be steep and paid in blood.  In playing the race card, the Democrats show that they have no moral scruples whatsoever.  To the progressive, the end always justifies the means.  It is a dishonor and a sin to bear false witness against your neighbor.  But this is the political party that booed God out of the DNC party platform three times before the chair ignored the majority and allowed the Almighty to return.  And this was done cynically to avert political fallout and a possible loss of votes in November.  Even God is a political calculation for Democrats.

There are no moral or ethical constraints on the Democrats or their progressive ilk in the media.  Race-baiting is a strategy they believe will work for them.  We can expect a hellish campaign in the run up to November 6.  If you plan to vote for Romney, be prepared.  The Democrats will call you a racist.  And they won’t think twice about doing it.

Anyway Ace really wants to see NBC/MSNBC, the media’s worst culprits of this shameful race baiting, severely punished:

They are so close to bankruptcy. And they’re so obnoxious. It’s not that the rest of these channels aren’t biased. It’s just at some point we need to make an example of one of them — I think the old expression goes pour encourager les autres (You have to hang an admiral once in a while to encourage the others).

And I don’t mean boycott their news. I mean boycott everything here. The whole thing. All of it. Put it under. Bankrupt it.

I started “boycotting” virtually all commercial TV (other than the news) over 20 years ago, so it’s no skin off my back. Got sick of what Breitbart’s John Nolte likes to call the “sucker punch” — that little jab the conservative viewer so often gets from what is expected to be unbiased programming. That sucker punch sneaks up on you when you think you’re in for a night of politics-free, ideology-free, escapist entertainment, but instead you get smacked in the face with an unsubtle denunciation of your deeply held conservative values. The bad guy is the pro lifer, or the priest, or the tea partier, for example.  Certainly, not everything Hollyweird puts out is blatantly hostile to conservatism, but I’m not interested in being insulted even on an occasional basis, so why subject myself to it? It’s not so much a “boycott” as an “F*** you, I don’t need this, ” and like I said, I’ve been doing it for over 20 years.

I may be a little more “pop culturally illiterate” than the average person, but I don’t see that as a negative – because our pop culture is trash.

  1. A good indicator of how desperate they are getting. As it becomes more evident to them that they are about to get their clocks cleaned, the worse it’s going to get.
I’ve given up on the networks many years ago but, I must admit though they have always showed their stripes previously . . . . . . they have never been as obvious and as bad as they have been this cycle. Nobody can any longer defend that they are neutral.

  2. If I had a TV I guess I could tune in NBC to see who is advertising and boycott them but chances are, these companies advertise on the other alphabets too but I’m like you Deb, it’s been over 20 years since I watched anything on that wasteland.

  3. NBC’s news is so untruthful that I’ve frequently questioned why the Wall Street Journal would conduct joint political polls with NBC. When I see the NBC participation, I totally discount the results.

  4. I’ve been boycotting NBC for years. Don’t even flip through for an instant. If someone would compile a list of advertisers, I would be more than happy to boycott them too! Someone else will have to watch…I just refuse to do it.

  5. Made the mistake of watching CBS News tonight, after watching the local news, and it too is so biased, it is comical.

The general gig is to open it with some startling statement: Romney losing in swing states, Bad Week for Mitt Romney!, Romney losing Momentum!, Mitt Romney in a misstep, then they interview him, and you wonder what the big deal was about. Flash, complete fluff, and big smile and handshake. The bias couldn’t be more transparent.

Basically the media was, is, and always will be an agitprop for the Democratic Party.

But it is just a matter of time before they are forced to stop. Cannot lose money as a corporation forever.

Here’s what I think, Deb. Contrary to these polls, I don’t think the Dems are terribly confident in the big win and in fact, think there’s a chance their going to get their hands handed to them.

But Romney has to do well in the very first debate. Has to. He can seal the deal that night.

  6. I’m in. I told my husband earlier today I’m sick of walking into a room and seeing MSNBC on the tv, so the next time he goes out, it will have parental locks put on it and only I will know the password.

  8. Boycotts such as an NBC boycott never work… True.

Boycotts of those who advertise on NBC have a chance of making an impact. NBC does not care about the viewer but does care about those who hand over cash.

  11. Let’s be clear. It is NBC Night;y News that everyone should boycott (not watch). Their ratings would go down and
advertisers would pay less to advertise, thereby *hopefully* convincing NBC to quit being so liberal. Chuck Todd was just giddy a few weeks ago when Romney made a minor mistatement. Yet, NBC fails to cover the scandal in Benghazi where 4 AMERICANS DIED. I have never organized a boycott, but I am going to figure out how to get
    one started.
