Krauthammer: Bipartisan Proposal is Instant Legalization for 11 Million Illegal Immigrants (Video)

Charles Krauthammer weighed in on the bipartisan immigration proposal that’s making waves in the Senate. Krauthammer has long been a supporter of legalization after enforcement of the border. “Americans would accept that,” he said, “and that’s what the proposal appears to do.”

“It says once you get enforcement, you’re going to have to go through a path to get a green card, then citizenship, but that’s highly misleading, because under this proposal, the day this bill is signed, you get instant legalization for 11 million illegal immigrants. It’s called provisional – that’s nonsense. No one is ever going to revoke this legalization.”

Senator Marco Rubio, who’s causing major heartburn in even his most loyal supporters for pushing the proposal,  appeared on the ‘Hannity’ show, last night to discuss the bill.  Rubio agreed with Hannity that the borders need to be secured before any of the steps for a pathway to citizenship would be enacted.

Obama is coming to the rescue of nervous Republicans as it’s being reported that he’ll reject the terms of the Senate compromise and move it further to the left, giving Republicans wiggle room to oppose it. Apparently, he thinks this move is a winner for Obamacrats since everything he does is politically motivated.

But if immigration reform goes down in flames, he’ll be the one to blame.

Drew at AoSHQ: Yes, It Is Amnesty:

Take a look at how Marco Rubio, one of the key figures in the most recent amnesty push, phrases the argument.

We have de facto amnesty right now

No we don’t.

If we did, why are we going through this whole process in the first place? If we had de facto amnesty, we wouldn’t hear about how hard it is for illegal immigrants to live in the shadows. If we had de facto amnesty, we wouldn’t be deporting anyone. If we had de facto amnesty, there wouldn’t be a thriving black market for illicit work documents and identity theft.

  1. Of course it’s amnesty, why the republicans continue to partake in this charade just amazes me. The is always a comprehensive plan anytime this issue comes up. Mainly so they [the dims] instantly obtain a de facto, blanket amnesty that will never be revoked after it’s given. The dims and rino’s never want to approach this in a measured way, first – security of the boarder, second – enforcement of existing laws, third – deportation. The last time they wanted a “criminal background check” within twenty-four hours, or the individual is automatically accepted. All while they put into law a 72 hour check for gun ownership. The system would be so overwhelmed that they couldn’t possibly perform all the checks required.

The law currently required E-Verify [that the dims refuse to use], Employer sanctions for the hiring of illegals [that isn’t enforced]. A President that issued his own blanket amnesty by Executive Order [and Congress did nothing]. Yet somehow they believe dims, when they say that they have their best interest concerning this issue and if they just pass this law, they will abide by it.

If it weren’t for the Republicans, the nation wouldn’t have passed the 13th – 14th – 15th Amendments to the Constitution after the Civil War during Reconstruction. How has that “Black Vote” worked out for them in more than 150 years? Somehow they think and believe this time will be different. What idiots!

A few thoughts on Immigration from DeadTed that are worth reviewing:

Here is Ted Kennedy commenting on the 1965 immigration bill:
“The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission.”

Ted Kennedy on the 1986 Simpson-Mazzoli Bill:
“This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.”

Ted Kennedy (2007) on the current immigration proposal:
“The plan will strengthen our borders and our national security while providing a tough but fair path to citizenship for millions of people.”

Fortunately for humanity, DeadTed is still at ambient temperature and sober, but his dopey lib legacy is still haunting the Republican/Rino party and they are just too stupid to realize it and once again all too willing to jump back into the fray and get their collective brains beat in.
