Guy Benson, Townhall: Good News: Tax Dollars Used to Pay “Stimulus” Recipients to Watch Movies, Play Cards:
The president is asking Congress to approve another unpaid-for “stimulus” package, supposedly designed to execute all of the urgent infrastructure projects that his previous $825 billion effort somehow failed to accomplish (ba-dum-bum). Since we’re on the subject, let’s check in on Stimulus 1.0, shall we? From the Wall Street Journal:
The Obama administration’s electric car efforts took another hit on Wednesday after a federal inspection found a South Korean advanced battery maker never scaled up U.S. production despite receiving $142 million in federal grants. A Holland, Mich., factory owned by LG Chem Ltd., part of LG Corp., was half-funded by a government grant and estimated to add some 440 jobs building battery cells for General Motors Co.’s Chevrolet Volt and other vehicles. When demand for the plant’s batteries didn’t meet expectations, the company filled orders with cells made at a factory in South Korea, leaving the Michigan plant largely idle, according to the report by the Department of Energy’s Inspector General, Gregory Friedman. LG Chem said in a statement that production delays at the Michigan facility were “market-driven,” adding that it is “developing specific plans for the start of production.” The company said it regretted that it applied for reimbursement for “employment costs that were not allowed” under its U.S. grant.
Michelle Malkin: Democrats Heart Medicare Fraudsters:
Hey, remember when President Obama crusaded against Medicare fraud and vowed to crack down aggressively on scammers who’ve bilked the program out of an estimated $90 billion? Like Archie and Edith Bunker used to sing: Those were the daaaays.
While Democrats pretend to protect the elderly and disabled, leaders of the People’s Party have pocketed gobs of campaign contributions from fat-cat donors tied to massive Medicare rip-off schemes.
Let’s talk some more about Dr. Salomon Melgen, shall we? We now know that the jet-setting Florida eye doctor who flew beleaguered Sen. Bob Menendez, D-N.J., to several alleged sex romps in the Dominican Republic also overbilled the government by $8.9 million for care at his clinic. That’s according to Menendez’s own aides. They acknowledged last week that their boss met with federal health bureaucrats at least twice to lobby on Melgen’s behalf.
“Federal investigators and health-care auditors have had concerns about Melgen’s billing practices at various times over the past decade,” according to two former federal officials who spoke to The Washington Post. “In part, they have examined the volume of eye injections, surgeries and laser treatments performed at his West Palm Beach clinic.”
Back in January 2009, Barack Obama told Americans that,
“Everyone must sacrifice… Everyone must have some skin in the game.”
The Obamas continue to blow taxpayer dollars like there’s no tomorrow–
Here’s their schedule for the long weekend, via Drudge:
(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch today released previously unseen USDA videos revealing a compulsory “Cultural Sensitivity Training” program requiring USDA employees to bang on tables, chanting in unison “The pilgrims were illegal aliens” while being instructed to no longer use the word “minorities,” but to replace it with “emerging majorities.” Judicial Watch received the videos pursuant to a May 18, 2012, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
Big Government: Obama on Books to Read: ‘Other Than My Own, I Assume?’
At today’s Google+ “fireside hangout” with President Obama, the president was asked to recommend a book that would help opponents understand his politics. Obama immediately responded, “Other than my own, I assume? I don’t want to be pitching my own book!”

He’s so modest.
Big Journalism: WaPo Ombudsman: Palin Hoax Got Past ‘Post Editor’
Breitbart News has exclusively obtained a voicemail Pexton left, on Tuesday, to a Post reader who called him after he was outraged the mainstream media organization could get so badly duped.
“Shame on us,” Pexton says in the voicemail. “That was a terrible mistake, I agree with you. It got through one editor, obviously the writer made the mistake and it got through one Post editor. So, shame on us–anyway–thanks for calling. Bye.”
The writer is Suzi Parker, and the editor is “She the People” editor Melinda Henneberger.
Yesterday, state Representatives Rory Ellinger (D-86) and Jill Schupp (D-88) introduced House Bill 545, anti-gun legislation that would turn many law-abiding gun owners into felons. HB 545 would ban the possession, sale, transfer or manufacture of certain semi-automatic rifles and magazines that are capable of holding more than ten rounds.
HB 545 contains no grandfather clauses. Therefore, under HB 545, if you are currently in possession of the semi-automatic rifles and magazines outlined in this bill, you will have 90days from the effective date of this legislation to surrender, destroy or remove these currently lawful items from Missouri. If you fail to do so, you could be charged with a Class C felony if this legislation is passed and enacted into law.
(Don’t worry – ain’t gonna happen, folks…)
Lady Liberty: The 2014 Senate Elections:
There are 33 seats involved in the 2014 cycle. 20 Democrat seats and 13 Republican seats are up for reelection. This list is subject to change and will be date stamped. Here’s the breakout (below).
American Thinker: President Unleashes a Nationwide ‘Community Organizing’ Campaign:
The president’s State of the Union address (SOTU) was merely a prelude to a massive undertaking to go nationwide with his community organizing methods and objectives. This is a president who operates in campaign mode 24/7. One can make a strong case for his failure as a president, but it would be hard to claim that he lacks campaign skills. He learned at the feet of Chicago maestros. As soon as the obligatory SOTU speech was over, Mr. Obama set about revving his campaign engine — this time for his agenda of nakedly expanding the role and reach of the federal government now that his re-election is history.
Dr. Ben Carson is fast becoming America’s Doctor.
And he will make an hour-long house call with Sean Hannity in a Hannity Special on Fox News Friday night.
Along with a handful of guests in an on-set audience, of which I will be privileged to be one.
Dr. Carson, of course, has been in the news lately for this speech at the National Prayer Breakfast. In which, with a surgeon’s precision, the good doctor deftly dissected both Obamanomics and Obamacare — with President Obama seated two seats away.
If you aren’t yet familiar with Dr. Carson you should make the time.
Here is a man whose single mother, one of 24 children — you read that right — married at 13, had two children (Ben and his brother Curtis), eventually finding out that her husband had an entirely different wife and family. Which is to say, he was a bigamist and soon departed from Ben’s family when the discovery was made by Ben’s mother. He was as well a man with an alcohol problem. Mom had a third grade education.
Not exactly an auspicious start for a young African-American kid in Detroit.
The charge is “electronic harassment” (Md. Code Crim. Law §3-805) according to Aaron Walker. The complainant is Lee Stranahan:
For the better part of a year, my family and I have have been under contestant siege from a small group of people who have worked together in a relentless attempt to humiliate, embarrass and inflict emotional stress on us in a clear attempt destroy my professional reputation and to silence my voice. Much of this appears to be related to stories I have written about such as Weinergate, Occupy Wall Street, the media’s handling of the Steubenville rape case and projects I’ve launched like Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day.
These attacks, however, have gone far beyond the realm of impassioned debate and into the realm of illegal harassment that serves no legitimate legal purpose.
Good luck getting to LeeStranahan.com tonight. Bill Schmalfeldt is evidently part of a troll crew organized by Neal Rauhauser to harass various individuals Neal hates, so we can expect the usual hacking/DOS tactics to be deployed against Lee’s site.
Coincidentally, The Other McCain just got back online after possibly getting hacked, DOS’d themselves.
Five hundred people were hurt in central Russia’s Ural region today after a series of explosions in the skies caused by a meteor shower. The blast sparked panic in three major cities, blew out windows and knocked out cellphones.
