Democrats have their very own Todd Akin on their hands thanks to Colorado Democrat Rep. Joe Salazar. But you may not have heard about his gaffe because well – there’s a D after his name – not to mention the fact that he made his awkward rape statement while arguing in favor of something with which the media agrees: The disarmament of law abiding college students:
“It’s why we have call boxes, it’s why we have safe zones, it’s why we have the whistles. Because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at. And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around or if you feel like you’re in trouble when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop … pop around at somebody.”
I’m going to have to join my brave sistas on the left coast and speak truth to power! Because rape is unacceptable! Down with rape! Violence sucks!

Rape should be heavily discouraged – that’s why women should be able to fight back with whatever means are available to them; in addition to “whistles” and “ballpoint pens”, that would include legally owned firearms.

When Todd Akin suggested women have natural defenses against impregnation by rape-sperm, “women have ways to shut that whole thing down” became a punchline and political bludgeon for months. Dems insisted Akin was the spokesman for the entire GOP, Team Obama recruited Sandra Fluke to fundraise off of his remarks, and lefties targeted Akin with oh-so-civil rape wishes.
But when genius Colorado Democrat Joe Salazar insisted hysterical womenfolk can’t be trusted to accurately identify a rape threat, much less fend one off with anything more powerful than a 9mm whistle? Crickets from the For the Women™ crowd. Perhaps they agree with Salazar: It’s not “rape-rape” until a male Dem gives his stamp of approval, you dumb broads.
And when the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs issued tips for “passive resistance” to rape, like on-demand vomiting and fake menstruation? Chirp, chirp, chirp.
But somehow, the feminist pearl-clutchers found the strength to take up a new cause when they caught wind of @SooperMexican’s #LiberalTips2AvoidRape hashtag.
Can’t we all agree RAPE IS BAD?
