Who Wants a Free Lunch (and Breakfast?) Obama’s Organizing For Action Busing Drones To Albany To Agitate For Strict Gun Laws

As I noted in my previous post about Organizing For Action’s miniscule NRA protest in Fairfax, VA  — give them time — they’re just getting started. They’re trying for an Act II in Albany, NY to show support for Cuomo’s draconian gun laws, this time offering some free food, and a free ride, so the drones will come. They will be joining forces with Obama’s purple clad shock troops, the SEIU.

Just like Team Obama’s #DemandAVote effort on Twitter was driven by spambots, this too will be nothing more than Regime astroturf, masquerading as popular grassroots.

Organizing for Action is funded in part by corporate and individual donors, and exists primarily to push Obama’s far-left policy goals.

This should be a great opportunity for conservative bloggers in the Albany area to follow in Andrew Breitbart’s footsteps and get the drones on camera to answer challenging questions like, “do you even know what you’re protesting? How much are you being paid? You. don’t. even. know. why. you’re. here.”

God, I miss that man….

Doug Ross: GRASSROOTS: Progressive gun-control policies so popular they have to pay people to rabble-rouse:

Toldja they’d eventually pay people to agitate for gun confiscation:

Consider how hard it must be to operate a progressive “grassroots” organization. Your policies have failed for decades. Your current positions — like trying to ram gun-control down Americans’ throats — are wildly unpopular.

So unpopular, in fact, that you have to pay people to take your positions.

The liberal organization Progressive USA Voters, which is housed in the same progressive Denver office building as a chapter of the infamous left-wing astroturf group ProgressNow, is offering an hourly wage of between $9 and $11 to join its gun-control campaign in Chicago, according to a flyer that was photographed and posted to Reddit Friday… “Join the Campaign to Stop Gun Violence” reads the flyer, which also notes, “Hourly Wage: $9-11/hr.”

If they really wanted to stop “gun violence” they would be joining House Republicans in demanding that Obama and Holder enforce our existing gun laws:

A group of 23 Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee Friday sent letters to President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder demanding existing gun laws be enforced before additional limitations are passed.

The committee, which has held hearings in recent weeks on ways to prevent gun violence, again called into focus statistics that show a dramatic drop in federal weapons prosecutions over the past decade.

The letters cite a Syracuse University study that show firearms prosecutions under  President George W. Bush peaked at 11,015 in 2004 while the Obama administration has prosecuted about 7,774 firearms cases in 2012.

“A prosecution rate this low is not indicative of a Department of Justice that takes the act of illegally attempting to acquire a firearm seriously,” Committee Chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., said in a statement accompanying the letters.

No, what they take seriously is the fact that law abiding citizens are able to acquire firearms.
UPDATE:

The organizers called the thing off. I wonder if Cuomo was afraid he’d have a PR nightmare to deal with.

A Potentially explosive confrontation over Gov. Cuomo’s tough new gun law was avoided over the weekend as 1199 SEIU, the hospital workers union, abruptly canceled a Thursday rally designed to challenge some 10,000 opponents of the governor’s measure, The Post has learned.

Weeks ago, the opponents announced that they would hold a rally Thursday. They said it would be one of the biggest protests ever at the state Capitol, with 10,000 or more in attendance.
