A New state judge has accepted a the first constitutional challenge to the NY SAFE Act.

Supreme Court Justice Gerald Connolly signed an order Friday directing Gov. Andrew Cuomo and legislative leaders to “show cause” in court March 11 that the law should not be enjoined.

According to a gun-rights group leading the complaint, We the People of New York Inc., 1,256 plaintiffs from 58 New York counties filed a constitutional challenge in the Albany County court Thursday. The complaint argues that Cuomo’s “message of necessity,” used to push the bill through the Legislature without the required three-day waiting period, included misrepresentations and violates the state constitution.

Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi responded to the lawsuit in an email, saying, “We believe the law is, and the process was, valid and constitutional.”

The lawsuit also names Senate Republican Leader Dean Skelos, R-Nassau County; Senate Independent Democratic Conference Leader Jeffrey Klein, D-Bronx; and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, D-Manhattan.

Another gun rights group, the state Rifle & Pistol Association has also filed a notice that it plans to sue the state over the law.

Bob Owens: Despite apple flavor, Media Matters insists red, non-citrus fruit is actually an orange:

Owens is happy to turn the apple red, again, but the fey metrosexual collectivists at Media Matters don’t care. They know their sad, mind numbed drones are programmed to believe what they want them to believe.

Media Matters is flipping out over a Gannett article the accurately records the fact that the NY SAFE Act renders guns inoperable, because the law requires magazines that don’t exist.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with them, Media Matters is a left wing propaganda organization, and pointing out that the NY SAFE Act is insane, impractical, and unconstitutional really puts a damper on the hopes of their preferred 2016 Democratic Presidential candidate, NY Governor Andrew Cuomo.

So what does Media Matters do to try to rebut an obvious truth? They try to confuse the dullards among their followers by insisting that an apple is an orange:

A search on firearms accessories supplier Brownells’ website reveals 51 options for purchasing magazines with a 5, 6 or 7 round capacity. Magazines for popular firearms brands offered by Brownells include Springfield, Glock, Colt, Smith & Wesson, Beretta, Ruger, and Sig Sauer. In fact, the seven-round magazine is the third most popular configuration offered by Brownells, with only eight- and 10-round magazines offering more options.

It’s a sad stunt, attempting to capitalize on the fact that Media Matters knows their readers are likely too dim to realize that there isn’t one generic one-size-fits-all generic pistol magazine. Indeed, the overwhelming majority of magazines listed are for one gun, the 102-year-old John Browning-designed 1911. Of those that remain, all are for pistols that use single-column magazines, which make up a distinct minority of pistols on the market.

The Pirates Cove: Good News! POTUS Who Wants Massive Gun Control Pardons Gun Offender:

You can not make this stuff up…

this is the guy Obama pardoned

Larry Wayne Thornton — Forsyth, Georgia.
Offense: Possession of an unregistered firearm; possession of a firearm without a serial number.
Sentence: Four years probation.

Also pardoned are people who committed wire fraud, theft, trafficking counterfeit goods, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and embezzlement. I wonder if he’ll pardon you when you’re guns are made illegal?

Proof positive that this empty suit isn’t interested in stopping gun crimes. He’s not even interested in enforcing the laws that are on the books.

Aww, those dopey lib love spats. Media Matters and Gannett, kinda like Rhianna and Chris Brown isn’t it? Someone is gonna need some ice for that swollen lip. [I've heard that line somewhere before, I think.]

Of course it was the Gannett dopey lib rag, LoHud that originally started all the controversy when they published the list of Gun Owners in Westchester and Rockland Counties in New York as a interactive map. It was a treasure hunt map for the criminals who could select the houses they wanted to hit or avoid.

But I’m sure Media Matters was loving Gannett back then when Lohud served their purposes. Ice anyone?
