Today on Fox News, Senator Rand Paul discussed his immigration reform proposal, and hit back at critics like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh who say he supports ‘amnesty’.
“I’ve got a news flash for those who want to call people names on amnesty: What we have now is de facto amnesty,” Paul replied. “We have 11 million people here that have been here — some of them for a decade or more. No one is telling them to go home. … So I would say if you want to work, we’ll find a place for you. But that doesn’t mean you get special privileges. It just means we’ll get you a work visa.”
He went on to say that not only is his proposal, the right thing to do, but “it’s a way to expand the Republican Party to where people will listen to us, because they say it’s a reasonable position.”

Here’s a News Flash for Rand Paul. Of course we have a de facto amnesty program in this country, we’ve had it for years and there in lays the problem. For decades ‘nobody” has done anything about it. This isn’t a original problem we’ve gone through this problem before. If our current laws were enforced the actual problem would be well on it’s way to being resolved. That is what frustrates real conservatives, like Coulter, Limbaugh and I include myself. There is a “basis of law” where the all fruit of a “illegal act”, is in itself considered illegal.
There are only some 12-15 States who are using E-Verify. Rand Paul has already stated that he is against expanding the use of it to other states. First off, it is a “national law” and was part of the 1986 Simpson Mazolli Act signed into law by President Reagan. All employers are suppose to be using it and when it is or isn’t used no sanctions are brought against the people in violation of it. He claims he doesn’t want to make “employers” Immigration agents. That is a pathetic argument, they are already IRS agents by collecting and submitting required State and Federal taxes. All they are doing is verifying employment documents that a perspective employee gives them as official documents.
Want to resolve the problem, here’s a good start:
halt any public assistance that any illegal immigrant receives [no section 8, SNAP, or Health Care]
Verify all employment through E-Verify
Enforce Employer sanctions as provided in the 1986 Law and increase the penalties for violations
Curtail the exodus of US Dollars that currently go south [literally]
No Driver Licenses or Identification to anyone here illegally
No Social assistance to any illegal [Schools etc]
Prosecute any politician that establishes [either through action or inaction Sanctuary Cities]
Build the “Dang Fence” [right Johnny?]
No catch and releases, if you are caught your sent back
Establish a Guest Worker Program where labor can be imported and leave at the conclusion
Back in the fifties President Eisenhower faced this same problem, people were ordered to leave [self deportation] and anyone not leaving was gathered up and sent back home. If you cut off any means of them earning a living, they will leave on their own. If FedEx, USPS, DHL, and UPS can track millions of packages within their system and tell you where they are at any given moment, why can’t we do it with Immigrants through a Guest Worker Program?

I agree with him. We can continue to argue about this or we can do something that will actually fix the problem. There is a huge difference between giving a workers visa and citizenship. As a person who grew up around immigrants I can tell you that our visa system is broken and a big part of the reason that we have problems that we do.

I don’t agree with the vitriol against Paul. I do think supporting amnesty is rewarding lawbreakers while providing an expanded voting base for the democrats. In short, a very bad idea from someone whom I often agree with.

I’ve been pleasantly surprise by Rand Paul from the first time I heard him when he was a candidate for the Senate. It was a lengthy interview and I found him impressive and much more reasonable on issues than his father. He and Cruz have been running circles around the party elitists lately.
For some reason the republican party seems hell bent on retreating from their normal values that they’ve stood on for decades. Rubio is being used big time through this gang of eight [minus Flake], Flake is also being used by McCain now that he is the junior Senator. None of the rest of the gang can be put up front, because they’ve been slapped down on their previous positions regarding immigration. None of them have any credibility, especially McCain and Graham. If anyone thinks that Schmucky is just looking out for the interest of the republican party. . . .I have some land for sale, cheap.
Is the system broke? Of course it is and has been for years. What has been proposed so far isn’t the answer though. None of the laws that have been passed has corrected any of the abuses. As long as there are politicians out there who are establishing “sanctuary cities” in their communities and the feds aren’t going to go after them. We will continue to face this problem. The BloomTurd’s, Newsome’s, Villagarossa’s and the likes aren’t going to get religion after the passage of another law. Once “any” probationary or legal status is granted to those already here, it will never be withdrawn. The dimoCraps will make sure of that, as they have with every other law we have passed. Ever since the ’65 Dead Ted kennedy immigration reform the republicans have had their collective clocks cleaned on this issue.
If the economic future for our Country is Greece, Italy or Cyprus unless something is done. One only needs to look at California to see what the future of the republican party is, if they continue down this road.

The Senate’s bipartisan immigration working group split along party lines during a contentious budget vote to prevent illegal immigrants who receive legal status from receiving federal health benefits.
The Senate early Saturday morning defeated the amendment to the budget resolution which would have put the Senate on record as opposing access to health care under Medicaid or the Affordable Care Act for undocumented immigrants who get a green card.
The amendment, which failed 43 to 56, was offered by Senate Budget ranking member Jeff Sessions, R-Ala.
All Democrats — including gang members Dick Durbin of Illinois, Bob Menendez of New Jersey, Charles E. Schumer of New York and Michael Bennet of Colorado — opposed the amendment. They were joined by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska. All other Republicans — including immigration negotiators Marco Rubio of Florida, John McCain of Arizona, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Jeff Flake of Arizona — supported the amendment.
The gang of eight has been negotiating a comprehensive immigration reform package that they hope to unveil when the Senate returns the week of April 8 from spring recess.
Sessions contended the vote bodes poorly for the state of negotiations.
“The result of today’s vote places immigration reform in jeopardy,” Sessions said.

ICE union head: “Zero confidence any promises of future enforcement will be fulfilled”
The head of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent union says that he has no confidence that the Obama administration would step up its border control efforts as part of any immigration reform agreement.
Chris Crane, ICE officer and National ICE Council president representing 7,000 ICE agents, officers, and employees, expressed concern in a statement issued Friday that the “the immigration bill being crafted behind closed doors” by the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” senators “will be rushed to passage without proper public consideration and proper input from the law enforcement community.”
According to Crane, while big businesses and advocacy groups have been given a seat at the table by the White House and at “other secret meetings,” the ICE union has been left out of the conversation.
He added that ICE’s “politically appointed leaders” — Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and ICE Director John Morton — “do not speak for us when it comes to enforcing the law” and that the pair have “repeatedly undermined the ability of our officers to enforce and protect the public safety.”
