ANGRY Obama Lashes Out at “Willful Liars” Republicans and NRA (Video)

Hell hath no fury like a woman  Obama scorned.

Surrounding himself with human shields family members of victims of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting and  former Rep. Gabby Giffords of Arizona, the petulant president, who chose to forego Margaret Thatcher’s funeral in order to stay in Washington and demagogue fight for gun control, lashed out at Republicans and the NRA as the bill went down in flames, today.

The Washington Times reported:

President Obama angrily blamed the defeat Wednesday of his centerpiece gun-control proposal on lies spread by the National Rifle Association, calling it “a pretty shameful day for Washington.”

“The gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill,” Mr. Obama said in the White House rose garden about 90 minutes after the vote. “It came down to politics.”

As he spoke, Mr. Obama was surrounded by family members of victims of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting. Also with him was former Rep. Gabby Giffords of Arizona, wounded in an assassination attempt.

Senators voted 54-46 late Wednesday to expand background checks of gun purchases, six votes shy of the 60 needed for passage of the amendment.

Obama continued to rail that the amendment had been the bipartisan effort of Sens. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) and Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) “a Democrat and a Republican, both gun owners, both fierce defenders of our Second Amendment with ‘A’ grades from the NRA.”

“Instead of supporting this compromise, the gun lobby and its allies willfully lied about the bill…[they] claimed it would create a ‘big brother’ gun registry,” Obama said. He said the “pattern of spreading untruths” about the legislation served a purpose: to enrage a vocal minority of gun owners.

Can you say “projection”, kids? Have we ever heard a POTUS talk like this about fellow Americans?

We haven’t. Obama has been historic in oh so many ways.

You know what I think  happened? Other than the fact that too many of us don’t and will never trust a thing this corrupt, far left, radical president says? Obama’s increasingly hysterical and obnoxious demagoguery just plain turned people off. As Rep Steve Stockman noted on Twitter, earlier, today.

And as Charles C.W. Cooke noted at NRO:

In countless appearances, the president has suggested that the interests of “our children” and “the gun lobby” are diametrically opposed, he has brazenly maligned the intentions of those who have the temerity to disagree with him, and he has made catharsis for the families of the Newtown massacre a national priority. It has been shameless. There is, it appears, no emotional pornography that the administration will refuse to distribute in the pursuit of its agenda.

But the approach betrays a certain desperation. As Kathleen Parkerobserved bluntly in the Washington Post last week, “nothing proposed in the gun-control debates would have prevented the mass killing of children at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and everybody knows it.”

Everybody does — which explains the mawkishness. The sole purpose of wheeling in innocent children, of pointing incessantly to the grief of victims of gun violence, and of relating tales of family suicide (as Harry Reid recently did on the Senate floor) is to dare your opponents to be hard-hearted enough to oppose your agenda. Instead of engaging his critics on substance, the president has done his level best to circumvent the debate by transmuting a dispute over the wisdom of new laws into an up or down vote on whether or not one is sad about gun violence.

But the emotional pornography continues, as a cringing America turns away.

Joel Pollak, Big Government: Obama: Gun Lobby ‘Willfully Lied’:

President Barack Obama lashed out defiantly and viciously at political opponents who defeated his efforts to expand federal gun regulations today. Standing with families of victims of the Newtown school shooting at the White House, the president claimed that opponents of expanded federal background checks had “no coherent arguments” for their position, and that the “gun lobby” had “willfully lied” in the course of the debate.
Ironically, while accusing others of lying, President Obama resorted to false claims and statistics about current laws, including the repeatedly debunked argument that 40% of gun sales are private, and that guns can be bought over the Internet without background checks. It was partly the dishonesty of those very arguments that had led potential supporters of new bipartisan legislation to doubt the administration’s motives in supporting the bill.

Keith Koffler, WHD: Senate Hands Obama Striking Gun Bill Defeat:

And don’t let the White House fool you that the bill wasn’t allowed an “up or down vote” – anything that moves in the Senate, except for a few budget bills, needs 60 votes. That goes for legislation backed by Republicans and Democrats. It’s standard operating procedure in the Senate, which operates more on a basis of consensus than the House.

Protein Wisdom: Contrite, embarrassed, duped CCRKBA withdraws support of Manchin Toomey bill:

Which won’t be trumpeted near as much as their earlier support for the measure, something the groups’ leadership assured everyone was a real boon for gun wonders — and in fact, was a huge ass-kicking moment for Mr Toomey.

Turns out Schumer was laying in wait and stripped out the pro-gun provisions at the last moment. Whoops!

To paraphrase Eric Stratton, you f*cked up. You trusted them!

The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms has withdrawn its support for the Manchin-Toomey alternative background check measure because a key amendment for restoration of firearms rights is not being considered.

Our support for this measure was contingent on several key provisions, the cornerstone of which was a rights restoration provision that is not on the schedule for consideration. This is not a reflection against Senators Joe Manchin or Pat Toomey, who are staunch Second Amendment advocates.Maybe. But that just means they are political useful idiots, as was the CCRKBA.

Congrats.

And good luck scrambling at the last moment to take back your support. Once you gave it, that’s all the press needed to hear. They sold that far and wide.

  1. Someone correct me if I’m wrong here.

Besides using the tragedy and grieving parents as he has for weeks now. It seems to me obozo got exactly what he asked for. . . .he has said from almost from the very beginning that: “the victims and parents of Newtown deserved a vote”. So he got a vote and now I guess he has a problem with the democratic process?

They over played their hands on this issue [like most others] to the point of ridiculousness, he whore’d himself and those families. Funny how he didn’t roll out the Families of Victims from Chicago who have been murdered over the last year. I guess those victims weren’t as valuable as the ones from Newtown, for some reason or another. bastid!

  3. Perhaps the call of “it’s for the children” is starting to ring a bit hollow considering how they support doctors scissoring the spines of newborn babies.

  4. Gun control begins in the executive branch. Missilies into Libya without consultation with congress has never been covered by commercial news media. Exporting machine guns to Mexican drug lords via our Attorney General in “fast and furious” has never been resolved, except for shuffling a few people to take the fall. Dozens perhaps hundreds of Mexicans were killed with our weapons thanks to AG Holder.

Well, if that’s the case, Dear Leader, maybe they were just taking a page from your playbook.

Or maybe you were just confused and still talking up yourself (which is typical) and were referencing the “Affordable Care Act” which is not affordable, isn’t about care and passed only because of lies and bribes, by people who hadn’t even read the thing and pushed by lying thugs who didn’t care (yes, Nazi, I’m talking about you, too.)

Or maybe you were talking about the Fast and Furious criminal enterprise, sponsored by that fine, upstanding lawyer Mr. My People?

    Payback’s a b*tch, ain’t it, Sir?
