Appearing on Hannity last night, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) fielded questions on Syria and defunding ObamaCare.
He agreed that Assad’s (alleged) use of chemical weapons is an outrage, but went on to note that with all its bluster, the Regime has neglected to mention the touchstone of what our policy on Syria should be – ” the vital national security interests of this country.”
He said, “under no circumstances should we be arming rebels who are affiliated with al Qaida and this administration has already suggested that they want to arm the rebels with no reliable means of differentiating al Qaida from non al Qaida”. He noted later on in the interview that of the nine major rebel groups, seven of them may have “significant ties” to al Qaida.
He also declared that our concern should be the chemical weapons and preventing them from falling into the hands of terrorist groups. (which may be too late according to Walid Shoebat who posts evidence the Syrian Rebels used Chemical Weapons (not Assad.)
As for the perception in Egypt that the Regime’s rabidly pro-Muslim Brotherhood, Cruz said, “what a sad state of affairs when the United States is arm in arm with oppressive Islamist governments.”
Hannity made the cogent point that “we’ve gotten to the point where our allies don’t trust us and our enemies don’t fear us”, to which Cruz responded, the one principle that has proved true from time immemorial is that bullies and tyrants don’t respect weakness.”
From there Hannity went to the fight to defund ObamaCare.
It’s an uphill battle to be sure.
How do we win? Cruz says, first we get 41 Republicans in the Senate and 218 Republicans in the House to stand together on defunding ObamaCare – and the way to do that, he said is to get millions of people to sign his petition to defund ObamaCare. As it stands, it’s at 666,381. It’s got a ways to go to be the “tsunami” Cruz is hoping for.
Have you signed the “Don’t Fund it” petition yet? What are you waiting for?
WASHINGTON — The Muslim Brotherhood appears on the ropes in Egypt following a military crackdown on the radical movement. Here in the United States, however, one American-Islamic group linked to the Brotherhood continues to thrive.
The Islamic Society of North America, or ISNA, will hold its 50th annual convention over Labor Day weekend this year.
And ISNA even has the ear of the White House.
A Grand Jihad
Before President Barack Obama departed for Israel earlier this year, he took time to consult with Mohamed Magid.
Magid has reportedly become a trusted administration advisor on issues ranging from immigration to counterterrorism policy.
White House officials have praised Magid’s organization, ISNA, as a pillar of the American-Muslim community.
But according to analyst Ryan Mauro of the Clarion Project, an organization dedicated to exposing radical Islam, ISNA’s agenda is anything but mainstream.
“We know from the Muslim Brotherhood’s own documents that [ISNA] is a Muslim Brotherhood front — they say that explicitly in one of their 1991 secret memos,” Mauro told CBN News.
Mauro said that internal Muslim Brotherhood documents, captured by the FBI, name ISNA as one of 29 American-Muslim organizations with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood.
The Brotherhood gave birth to both al Qaeda and Hamas.
Via Egypt Independent:
A poll conducted by the Egyptian Center for Public Opinion Research, or Baseera, published on Tuesday, showed that 69 percent of Egyptians reject the Muslim Brotherhood’s future engagement in Egyptian politics.
That figure compared with just six percent who said the Muslim Brotherhood should play a part in politics in the future.
The poll was conducted to measure public opinion after the 30 June protests and the overthrow of President Mohamed Morsy, following the dispersal of two pro-Morsy sit-ins at Rabaa al-Adaweya and Giza’s al-Nahda Square.
According to the poll, 69 percent of Egyptians reject the continued involvement of the Muslim Brotherhood in politics.
UN weapons inspectors mission is only to find out IF chemical weapons used but NOT who used them. Are you kidding me?
While our government is claiming it was Assad who used the chemical weapons this is the same Obama regime who falsely claimed for weeks on end that a youtube video was responsible for the terrorist attack in Benghazi which left Chris Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Tyrone Woods dead when everyone knew this was not the case, so forgive me if I feel as if the Obama regime has no credibility.
And speaking of Benghazi.
At this point we do not know what Barack Obama’s response will be to the Syrian situation but we do know this, it will be more than the response given to the terrorist attack in Benghazi. In that case the United States responded to the violence by condemning a video and apologizing for the disgusting video.
Why does Barack Obama feel it is the obligation of the United States to interfere militarily in a civil war because chemical weapons were used against the civilians in Syria when he didn’t feel obligated to respond militarily either during–when he might have been able to save American lives–or after the terrorist attack which killed Unites States citizens?
Erick Erickson, Red State: The Meatloaf Caucus #DefundIt:
Congressman Rob Woodall (R-GA HAFA Score 78) was a great sport this past Friday. He joined me for my radio show in Atlanta, which is on WSB, the nation’s most listened to talk radio station.
During the course of our conversation, Congressman Woodall said the fight against Obamacare is “the biggest issue of our generation.” He also said of the Republicans in Congress “there is nothing we won’t do in order to see this President’s health care bill repealed.”
Got that? It is “the biggest issue of our generation” and “there is nothing we won’t do in order to see this President’s health care bill repealed.” Got it?
But he and the Republican leadership won’t support defunding it with a continuing resolution.
They are the Meatloaf Caucus. It’s like the old Meatloaf lyrics that he will do anything for love, but he won’t do that.
The Meatloaf Caucus will do anything to defeat Obamacare, but they won’t defund it.
