Our Weasel Of The Week!!

Once again, It’s time to present this week’s statuette of shame, The Golden Weasel!!

Every Tuesday, the Council nominates some of the slimiest, most despicable characters in public life for some deed of evil, cowardice or corruption they’ve performed. Then we vote to single out one particular Weasel for special mention, to whom we award the statuette of shame, our special, 100% plastic Golden Weasel. This week’s nominees were all disgusting, but the votes are in and we have our winner…the envelope please…

Squeaker of the House, Obama Doormat and RINO extraordinaire John Boehner!!

The Noisy Room : John Boehner for betraying his conservative base and aligning himself with Obama and the Progressives on the Left. In the CRominbus bill, he gave everything and more to Obama on every Progressive issue addressed. It was a breathtaking act of treason against conservatives and the Tea Party.

I agree wholeheartedly with Sean Hannity:

“John ‘Gruber’ Boehner, two days after the midterm elections, talking tough on the issue of amnesty, but unfortunately, that’s all it was. Because today it’s conservatives who feel like they’ve been burned as the Speaker aligned himself with the president, with Harry Reid, Steny Hoyer and Joe Biden to pass a spending bill a short time ago,” Hannity said.
“John Boehner ‘Grubered’ conservatives tonight and by that, I mean, the conservative base in particular, and Michele Bachmann hit the nail on the head,” he continued. “He never would have done this before the election. He has no inspiring vision and to me, he is everything that is wrong with Washington. He is a Democratic Party-lite. He doesn’t have those bold colored differences that Reagan talked about. And he should, in my view, he should not be the Speaker and should be replaced.”

Boehner would not even speak, much less negotiate with conservatives on this and he implemented a provision that would effectively raise the amount that high net-worth donors can contribute to political party committees from $97,250 to $777,600, was an egregious slap in the face to the Tea Party and conservatives. It basically ensures that fat cats are the only ones who can afford to run and it is a blatant attempt to shut out Tea Party candidates.

Time to go RINO hunting as Sarah Palin put it. Lock and load.

The Independent Sentinel :John Boehner is unquestionably my choice for weasel of the week, perhaps for the month, no the year. He said he would stand up to Barack Obama before the election, but the only ones he has stood up to are conservative Republicans. When it looked as if the budget wouldn’t pass, he pressured conservatives and when that didn’t work, he went to the far-left Steny Hoyer and Barack Obama to get the bill passed.

Boehner tweeted this on December 11th: “By the House’s action, we are setting up a direct challenge to the president’s unilateral actions on immigration next month… 3/4″

Horsefeathers!!!

Boehner pushed through a budget that funds amnesty. The Republicans have nothing to fight with next year. We can’t defund the DHS.

They won’t fight anyway.

Any fight is always pushed off into the future with this phony.

He betrayed the people who put Republicans in control of the House and the Senate. My second runner up for weasel is Karl Rove who is pleased that we are on our way towards having a budget as if that were the end all and be all. We passed an exorbitant spending bill that funds all of Obama’s lawless actions and neither Karl Rove or John Boehner appear to care about the Constitution in all of this.

VA Right: I’m going to go with John Boehner and his lead from behind deal with Barack Obama on the Omnibus bill.

The voters made this a wave election, not to get the Republicans to work with the Democrats, but to get them to push back. Boehner gave up an entire year of leverage and opportunity. He managed to prove that Republicans are not the answer either.

Yes, John Boehner came out ahead in a crowded and despicable field to walk off with the honors.Like some of other winners, this is something of a life time achievement award for excellence in Weaseldom rather than simply a recognition of his extraordinary performance during the current lame duck session. Remember when he first took over as Speaker back in 2011 and had us all convinced he was a fine, conservative choice?

Woo yeah, Mr. Speaker, boy did we fall for that one! And I bet you and your friends had a big laugh over it too!

Well, at any rate, I at least want to commend you for being a good sport and showing up in person to get your well-earned Weasel..please come to the stage Speaker Boehner!

Speaker Boehner…umm Speaker Boehner, I realize…I know it’s an emotional moment for you sir, but could you please stop…no I don’t want a hug sir…yecch, you’re getting it all over me! Please, someone get me a towel…!

Well, there it is.

Watcher’s Council Nominations – Cuba Betrayed Edition

With today’s announcement by President Obama that the U.S. will be normalizing relations with Cuba, American foreign policy took a very dark turn. Just at the point when this hideous regime was on the verge of collapse, our president took action that will not promote freedom for the Cuban people, but will throw an economic lifeline to a brutal dictatorship to enable it to stay in power. Disgraceful and shameful beyond words.

Welcome to the Watcher’s Council, a blogging group consisting of some of the most incisive blogs in the ‘sphere, and the longest running group of its kind in existence. Every week, the members nominate two posts each, one written by themselves and one written by someone from outside the group for consideration by the whole Council. Then we vote on the best two posts, with the results appearing on Friday morning.

Rioting For Change in the Age of Obama

obamaodinga

In August and September 2006, then Senator Barack Obama traveled to South Africa, Chad, Djibouti, Ethiopia, and Kenya as a congressional delegation of one. While in Kenya, the Junior Senator from Illinois enthusiastically appeared at the side of his “cousin” Luo Raila Odinga who was then running for President on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket. Odinga’s campaign theme was amazingly similar to Obama’s:  (“Your agent for change’)

obama-kenya-in01-wide-horizontal-jpg

Imagine a popular foreigner coming to America and campaigning for one of our candidates for president. Imagine the popular foreigner being openly critical of the administration currently in power.

Imagine further that the popular foreigner’s candidate was a ruthlessly ambitious pol with  financial ties to terrorists and a stated objective of dismantling the government’s anti-terror apparatus.  That’s what happened in 2006 when Senator Obama- celebrated in Kenya because of his African heritage – campaigned for Raila Odinga.

Obama’s vigorous politicking did not please everyone in Kenya.  A Kenyan Government spokesman, Alfred Matua, complained, “It is very clear that the senator has been used as a puppet to perpetuate opposition politics.” Mutua told AFP “we earlier thought he was mature in his assessment of Kenyan and African politics. We forgive him because it is his first time in the Senate and he is yet to mature into understanding issues of foreign policy.”

Odinga is the son of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Kenya’s first vice-president. Oginga was a committed socialist who sent his son to Communist East Germany for college.

The younger Odinga named one of his sons Fidel Castro and has also admitted to being one of the masterminds of a 1982 attempted coup against Daniel arap Moi, Kenya’s second president.

Odinga also has links to Islamic extremists in Kenya.

According to Voice of America and the Evangelical Alliance of Kenya, on 8/29/07, Odinga signed a secret agreement (exposed 11/27) with Sheikh Abdullah Abdi of the National Muslim Leaders Forum (NAMLEF) in which he agreed to institute Islamic law in exchange for Abdi’s support (eakenya.org)—thereby potentially disenfranchising and curtailing the liberties of millions of Christian Kenyan women. Further, he promised that Muslims suspected of terrorism would be safe from extradition—thereby establishing a ‘safe haven’ for terrorists in Kenya.

After the public outcry, Odinga denied signing a secret agreement. Angry at Odinga’s apparent repudiation, a member of NAMLEF subsequently released the agreement to the press. Odinga then claimed the document was a forgery, but acknowledged a secret agreement had been signed in exchange for Muslim support.

Finally, under constant pressure, Odinga released what he claimed was the actual document (“Real” MOU) a considerably watered down version of the original; but still anathema to many Christian groups. “In response to the revelations, The Evangelical Alliance of Kenya released a statement in which church leaders said Raila, in both MOUs, ‘comes across as a presumptive Muslim president bent on forcing Islamic law, religion and culture down the throats of the Kenyan people in total disregard of the Constitutionally guaranteed rights of freedom of worship and equal protection of the law’”

While, the Kibaki government had been a leading supporter of the US’s efforts to dismantle Al-Qaeda cells in Kenya and elsewhere, Cousin Odinga made his opposition to the government’s crackdown of suspected Al Qaeda supporters a cornerstone of his campaign.

Odinga went on to lose the presidential election by a margin of only 230,000 votes. Raila disputed the sketchy results, alleging fraud

Raila and his ODM leaders called for mass action, leading to massive unrest and violence throughout the country.

His Luo supporters engaged in what US Envoy Jendayi Frazer called “clear ethnic cleansing.”

Much of the violence has pitted other tribes, including Odinga’s Luo, against Kibaki’s Kikuyu who are the largest ethnic group. Kikuyus have long been resented for their dominance of Kenya’s economy and politics, but poor Kikuyu are among the slum dwellers who have been left out of the country’s economic boom.

Frazer said the violence she saw during a visit earlier this month to the western Rift Valley pitted the Kalenjin, who support Odinga, against Kikuyus.

Kenya05-2

Odinga’s supporters went on a rampage—burning Kikuyu homes and businesses, while Odinga looked the other way. They raped Kikuyu women, and torched a church where up to 50 Christian Kikuyu woman & children were burned alive.

080101-kenya-church-hmed-140a.grid-6x2

Georgette Gagnon, acting Africa director for the New York based Human Rights Watch claimed to have evidence that ODM [Odinga’s party] politicians and local leaders actively fomented some of the post-election violence.”

Kenya02-2

After two months of  violent rioting that led to the death of about 1000 people and displacement of about 250,000, a deal was struck between Odinga and Kibaki, which included the creation of a power-sharing Prime Minister post for Odinga. Kenya’s “Agent for Change” was sworn in on April 17, 2008.

Raila_Odingo_170408

It was disturbing back in 2008 to watch these terrible events unfold, knowing that Senator Obama had stumped for the candidate whose loss had incited so much violence.

Today, as cities across the nation erupt in violence as a result of grand jury decisions Obama and his fellow travelers don’t like, it’s hard not to see parallels.

Odinga claimed that he and Obama spoke regularly on the phone – much like Obama has been in constant contact with his “advisor”  Al Sharpton who has been organizing nationwide protests.

images (1)

After Odinga lost the election and Kenya erupted into violence Obama reportedly had daily conversations with Odinga.  He even recorded a message for Kenya,  “calling for calm.”

Obama did the same thing, of course after the grand jury decision exonerating officer Wilson was announced and Ferguson was erupting into chaos

At no point did Obama try to distance himself from  Odinga. At no time did he try to distance himself from Sharpton. These are fellow “agents of change,” after all.

Odinga did finally get what he was asking for – the creation of a government post just for him.

And the racial grievance industry is getting the law enforcement reforms they’re asking for, as well.

“Change” has come to America, as promised.

Video: James O’Keefe Interviews Man Behind The Gruber Videos

Conservative muckraker, James O’Keefe tracked down “Rich,” the citizen investigator who uncovered so many of the Gruber videos that have laid bare for all to see the dishonest underpinnings of the ObamaCare law.

Via Project Veritas:

During the interview, “Rich” stated that there was intentional mislabeling in the Affordable Care Act in order to hide a secret agenda in the bill: A two-hundred-and-fifty billion dollar per year tax grab.

“President Obama promised us the most transparent administration in history,” said Project Veritas President James O’Keefe. “Rich has opened a new debate about an effect of the Affordable Care Act which will impact over one hundred and fifty million Americans. We deserve to know if part of the Obamacare plan was intended to eliminate the two hundred and fifty billion dollar yearly tax break. If this is the case, we also deserve to why this information was kept from the public by the White House.”

Thanks to “Rich,” the word “Gruber” has become synonymous with “political lie” and wil henceforth be used to expose political lies whenever they’re told.

Sen. Elizabeth “Stands With Fistfuls of Corporate Cash” Warren!

The Razor : My pick of the litter this week is Sen. Elizabeth “Stands With Fistfuls of Corporate Cash” Warren. As Kevin Williamson writes in this week’s National Review, Sen. Warren has become a darling of the progressive community for her attacks on Wall Street yet at the same time has taken its cash. The New York Times has supported the narrative of Warren’s opposition to the federal bailouts, writing ““The liberal base of the Democratic Party, led by Ms. Warren, also found itself in an unlikely alliance with the Tea Party wing of the Republican Party. Both opposed the Wall Street bailout of 2008 and feared that the spending measure would not only provide a bounty for big banks but would also help cause another economic crisis.” Williamson writes, “Senator Warren is an energetic proponent of corporate welfare for Boeing, General Electric Bechtel, Caterpillar, and other such poor, defenseless little mom-and-pop operations.” Williamson also references the funniest movie ever, Blazing Saddles, referring to Warren’s claim of Cherokee ancestry (she’s 3.1%) “Senator Warren is as much an authentic champion of ordinary working people as she is an authentic Cherokee princess — and Mel Brooks and those Yiddish-speaking Indians from Blazing Saddles were more convincing in that role.”

Sen. Warren is the new face of progressives in the Democratic party, meaning she’s extremely wealthy, white and old – having turned 65 last June. She’s being considered as the youthful alternative to Hillary Clinton (who turned 67 in October). But being eligible for full Social Security benefits doesn’t deter her nomination for weasel of the week, especially for one as weaselly as Warren. Weasel Warren: it has a certain ring to it..

Yeccch! Can you smell the stench these weasel creatures emit  or what? Check back Thursday to see which Weasel walks off with the statuette of shame!

#IllRideWithYou – Liberal Preening In the Wake of Islamic Terror Events

It’s become the expected thing for liberals to engage in the same ritualistic dance every time an Islamic terrorist somewhere in the non-Muslim world engages in terroristic mayhem.

There’s an overwhelming desire among many to preemptively declare Muslims victims and apologize for any anti-Muslim feelings other people might have: Inspired by Sydney siege, #IllRideWithYou trends worldwide.

The New Yorker reports that a Sydney television reporter proposed the #illridewithyou hashtag after a woman tweeted about seeing another woman removing her hijab on a train, “presumably out of fear” of backlash against Muslims following the hostage crisis. “Put it back on. I’ll walk with you,” she reportedly told the woman, “inspiring a mini-movement in Sydney’s public-transportation system and reflections on who Australians might want to be now that the siege is over.”

Well, that’s lovely and I’m sure everyone is impressed. But there’s been no backlash, so what sparked the worldwide trend?

In the Muslim world, violent terrorist attacks are so expected, civilized people don’t even comment on them, anymore – even as Islamists threaten to extinguish entire races off the face of the earth. Who needs the Yazidis anyway? No one ever heard of them before ISIS started killing them off, am I right?  As for the Christian slaughters in Iraq, Syria, and Nigeria – fellow Christians in the Western world can barely be bothered. Okay, so they’re crucifying and beheading even children.  We only have so much room in our hearts for moral outrage and there are much more pressing matters here at home – like the possibility that someone might try blame a great religion for what a few bad apples did/are doing in its name.

When a violent Islamist holds innocent people hostage in a cafe in Sydney, Australia, and the 16 hour stand-off results in two hostages and the Islamist dead, liberals feel compelled to re-avow their support and admiration for Muslims, and point fingers accusingly at those who might awkwardly suggest that maybe there’s something about their religion – perhaps found in their sacred texts -  that inspires these violent outbursts.

These are very brave – very noble people who want you to be inspired by their near supernatural displays of tolerance on Twitter.

One conservative wondered how the far these libs would be willing to go to prove their tolerance.

Another one made the excellent point that in some Muslim countries a woman does not have the freedom to take off her hijab in public.

But those are faraway countries and that’s none of our business. Like the mass exterminations of Yazidis and Christians.

Here in America, the left always display their admirable tolerance – except when they don’t.

Iowahawk responded to the liberal tolerance brigades as only Iowahawk can.

Andrew Klavan addressed this liberal phenomenon a few years ago in a classic Klavan on the Culture.

College Prof With Backpack Full of Hammers, Arrested In Brooklyn Bridge Police Assault

121414prof

An estimated 25,000 to 30,000 protesters upset over the the grand jury decisions not to indict the officers involved in the Eric Garner and Michael Brown cases, converged on New York City on Saturday. The protest on the Brooklyn Bridge turned violent when police attempted to arrest the professor, Saturday night as “demonstrators” knocked two lieutenants to the ground, punching and kicking them. Police say a backpack full of hammers found at the site, belong to the suspect.

Via CBS News New York:

“They were knocked to the ground. They were punched by numerous people and kicked in the face and the head, while the group attempted to steal their portable radios and tear away their police identification jackets,” said the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence & Counter-terrorism John Miller.

The college professor, dubbed “the Poet Protester” by the NY media,  has been charged in connection with the assault of the two police officers on the bridge.

The charges against Eric Linsker, 29, of Crown Heights, who was arrested shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday, include assault in the second degree, rioting in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and unlawful possession of marijuana.

As CBS2’s Matt Kozar reported, Linsker appeared before a judge in criminal court in Lower Manhattan Sunday night and was released without having to post bail.

Linsker’s lawyer said the case against his client is weak, but police and prosecutors claim he incited a riot leading to protesters beating up two police lieutenants.

Linsker is an English professor at Baruch College, 1010 WINS reported.

According to police, Linsker tried to throw a metal garbage can at officers on the Brooklyn Bridge.

They attempted to arrest him, but protesters intervened, pulling the man away from police and punching and kicking the cops in the face and head, authorities told 1010 WINS’ Kevin Rincon. The demonstrators also knocked the two lieutenants down to the ground and punched and kicked them, police said.

Police found several hammers inside what they believe to be the suspect’s backpack. Lovely person  – just the sort parents want teaching their children.

But Linsker’s attorney said there’s no way for prosecutors to prove the bag belonged to his client.

He also called the charges bogus, and said his client had nothing to do with the assault.

“This young man did nothing but protest. He did absolutely nothing. He did not do the assault that it is claimed that he did,” the attorney  said.

Uh huh. Is Linsker’s attorney named Saul Goodman, by any chance?

saul-goodman

In a statement, Baruch College President Mitchel B. Wallerstein said the school is “working with The City University of New York.”

“Baruch will cooperate fully, as called upon, in any criminal investigation. While we believe firmly in the exercise of free speech, we deplore violence of any kind and will support the official investigation of this matter.”

No comment from Al Sharpton, the president or attorney general.

MORE on Linsker’s “poetry” via The NY Daily News:

He’s a police-hating poet whose known “for his erotic poetry interspersed with expletives aimed at the police.”

Before his run-in with the law, Linsker was scribbling stanzas about psychedelic sex and disdain for the cops.

“F— the police/To rise as you/Disappear below current/Interpretations of observations/F— the police,” he wrote for Adult-Mag, an online publication.

***

One review on Rate My Professors said Linsker pursues carnal subject matter.

“The readings are pretty weird. . . . I mean, if you love reading about sex in the most poetically disturbing way possible, go for it,” a student wrote last month.

Baruch College should be damn proud to have this dirtbag on their payroll.
