US Official: Hagel Was Fired – It Was Not a “Mutual Decision” (Video)

Officials in the Obama administration are now saying what conservatives said the minute he was nominated, Chuck Hagel was not up for the job of Sec. of Defense. After nearly two years, the White House has lost confidence in Hagel, who reportedly was “disengaged in his morning briefings.”

Jennifer Griffin reporting for Fox News said a US official told her, “make no mistake, Secretary Hagel was fired” despite the official message coming from the Pentagon, which is that it was a “mutual decision.” Griffin reported that Obama had “lost confidence in Hagel and that the White House had been planning his exit for weeks.”

Brit Hume speculated that Hagel was cut loose over disagreements over how to deal with ISIS – specifically over ground troops.

He surmises that Obama will be on the lookout for someone who will be more agreeable to what he wants to do. The problem is, if Obama pick someone who is strong and well qualified for the job, that person won’t be agreeable with what he wants to do.

According to Zeke Miller of Time,  administration officials say the three contenders at the top of the short-list to replace Hagel are Rhode Island Sen. Jack Reed, and former DOD officials Michele Flournoy and Ashton Carter.

Forum: What was your reaction to the President’s New Executive Order On Immigration?

Every week on Monday morning , the Council and our invited guests weigh in at the Watcher’s Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day, the culture, or daily living. This week’s question: What was your reaction to the President’s New Executive Order On Immigration?

GrEaT sAtAn”S gIrLfRiEnD : Kinda shocked at the lawlessness. I mean, if a GOP pres decided to Executive Order a Berlin Wall type barrier along the South 40 – ppl would totally freak. Methinks the GOP will NOT fall into an over reaction trap – instead they’ll use the Cruz Maneuver:

“Step number one that I have called for is the incoming majority leader should announce that if the president implements this lawless amnesty, that the Senate will not confirm any executive or judicial nominees, other than vital national security positions, for the next two years, unless and until the president ends this lawless amnesty,” Cruz told Chris Wallace on Faux News Sunday. “If the majority leader would announce that, it would impose real consequences on the president and the administration.”

Cruz didn’t say if he regards the attorney general as a “vital national security position,” leaving open the question of whether he wants the GOP to block confirmation of Loretta Lynch, 44’s nominee to replace Attorney General Eric The Red Holder.

“The second constitutional power we’ve got is the power of the purse,” Cruz continued. “And we should fund, one at a time, the critical priorities of the federal government, but also use the power of the purse to attach riders.”

By riders, Cruz is likely referring to an appropriations bill that would fund the Department of Homeland Security but stipulate that none of the funds appropriated may be used to implement 44’s recent executive orders. And, following Cruz’s thinking, if 44 vetoes that bill next year, it wouldn’t result in a government-wide shutdown because Congress will have passed bills funding other parts of government.

Cruz’s plan is very similar to the one he hoped to execute during the fight to defund the health care thing, with one crucial difference: Republicans now control the Senate, so Harry Reid, in theory, can’t block the bills that would fund the rest of government.

Also, tired of the tired refrain that somehow deporting 11 million ppl is undoable. Au Contraire mon frer!

Mass Deportation is very doable – after all – if the Germans can tote off over half that many folks and kill them – we can certainly carry off that many folks to their nation of origin and ensure they have a sack lunch on the bus.

Think of the economic boom the nation would enjoy – thousands of busses, drivers, relief drivers, petrol, safety officers, translators, sack lunch fixer uppers, paper pushers etc etc.

Or how about fining sanctuary cities for helping craft and continue the entire sorry mess to begin with? And the sudden stoppage of the drain on municipalities resources for illiterate and semi literate unskilled workers and families as they shed the ‘shadow dwellers’ by the bus loads simply raises quality of life for citizens.

The Right Planet : So often times those of us who want a secure border and current immigration laws to be enforced are labeled as “xenophobes,” “racists,” and the like, by the rampagin’ “open borders” crowd—the implication being we’re “anti-immigrant.” Hey, I have no problem with legal immigration. I think it’s a good thing. But we have immigration laws, like most nations do, thank you very much. George Stephanopoulos asked the president, “If you can selectively enforce immigration law, what prevents another president from not enforcing tax laws?” Obama’s response? Oh, that would be wrong. And how do legal immigrants feel about Obama’s imperial decree to grant executive amnesty after they followed all the rules? You can read more about that here. Back out quiet.

JoshuaPundit: First we have to start by understanding this. This was not about compassion, or fairness or the good of the nation. It was about politics. The president’s aim here is to create a brand new bloc of government-dependent Democrat voters. See if in one year or so there isn’t a push by the Democrats and this president to provide these people with a streamlined ‘path to citizenship’ and voting. “After all, they’re here, they’re paying taxes…”

The other reason it was done in this way is because the president hopes to provoke the Republicans into a government shutdown come December 12th and recreate what happened previously, where he deliberately shut down things that would most impact and inconvenience the American people while blaming it on the GOP while his media sycophants sing the same song.. In his mind, he’s still as popular as he was back then and the midterm elections meant nothing.

I think the Republican caucus did exactly the right thing by getting out of Dodge just now. They need to plan a cohesive strategy, some of which I explored here. And they need to feel out who’s really on board and whom isn’t. For instance, Senator McCain, the creature of his biggest financial backer UniVision cannot be trusted.

Lawsuits are not only useless but take far too long. First, everything connected with the president’s new executive diktat can be defunded by congress, and anyone whom believes the nonsense that entities like the USCIS can’t be defunded ‘because they operate using fees rather than appropriations’ needs to click on the above link to find out exactly how ridiculous that is.

They can halt any of his nominations and appointments, saying quite frankly that since this president has shown his contempt for the incoming congress and the separation of powers, they feel under no obligation to cooperate with him on anything.

They can pass common sense legislation that forces him to use his veto pen and shows whom the real obstructionists in congress are. They can block anything he plans to do including his planned global warming $3 billion slush fund and honestly say that until he reverses himself, that’s simply how things are going to be. This can easily apply to ObamaCare also if the Supreme Court doesn’t gut it first, since the president has said he will never sign any legislation repealing or changing it in any way.

I personally would extend the defunding to the president’s discretionary funds. No more lavish fundraisers and vacations on the public’s dime, severe cuts in his and the First Lady’s personal staff..no more personal chefs, masseuses, hair stylists and ‘assistants.’ No more pricey state dinners and parties featuring Hollywood entertainers, no more greens fees for his golf games. Let the president pay for these himself, if he likes.

And most important of all, the very first thing the new House and Senate need to do is pool their resources and hire a special prosecutor and staff to collect evidence so the House can prepare articles of impeachment.

I think a lot of people get confused and think that impeachment is a legal remedy because it has a legal process. It is actually a political remedy, and only works when a president has gone so far off the rails as to be unpopular enough with the American people that it can succeed. I think the president (whose approval ratings I think are at least 5-10% exaggerated in his favor) is at that point now, and that will become even more obvious if the articles are prepared properly and the American people get a good summation of everything this lawless, would-be autocrat has done to disgrace his office.

At that point, even many Democrats are likely to urge him to resign to save themselves, dangling a pre-arranged pardon okayed by soon to be interim President Biden as an incentive.

Once he’s gone, Congress can simply reverse what he’s done. And a far better solution to illegal migration can be formulated, one that protects the borders and deports people here illegally whom do not benefit America in the 21st century while importing other immigrants who do.

Laura Rambeau Lee, Right Reason: President Obama knows once the newly elected Republican led Senate and House members convene in 2015 they will not pass a comprehensive immigration bill he would sign, which is why he issued this executive order. This action defies the powers granted to the executive branch in our Constitution. Even President Obama acknowledged on many occasions he did not have the power to act unilaterally on this issue.

The President is correct in saying that rounding up and deporting millions of illegal immigrants in this country is not practical. He said that by issuing this executive order he was being fair and just. The Republicans should appeal to the immigrants who have waited for years to come here legally, and to every American citizen whose hard earned tax money will be used to pay for this illegal “amnesty.” Is the President being fair and just to them?

I would love to see the Republicans put forth a bill building on this executive order to enforce and enhance border security, assure criminals who are caught are deported immediately, and those given permission to stay under this executive order should never be permitted to become American citizens unless they leave the country and apply through the proper legal channels to do so.

The goal of the left in granting amnesty to illegal immigrants is to create a new voting block of millions of voters who will vote for Democrat candidates. The Republicans can stop this by not allowing them to become citizens. Let them work here legally, out of the shadows, and take advantage of the opportunities available to them. They should not be rewarded for their crimes by being given a special path to citizenship. I believe this is fair and just, not just to the illegal immigrants, but to those of us who are American citizens by birth or who went through the proper legal channels to become American citizens.

The President will not sign such a law, but the Republicans can show the American people that the purpose of this executive order is to gain millions of new Democrat voters and has nothing to do with compassion.

Sunday Link-Around: The Latest Document Dumps and Obama’s Post-Shellacking Rampage Continues

outrage-ami150

You probably didn’t think it was possible to be anymore disgusted and outraged at our corrupt and depraved government than you already are.

But I’m here to disabuse you of that notion because new information coming out of the latest Regime document dumps coupled the knowledge that the GOP is likely going to sit on their hands for the next couple of years rather than do anything about the lawlessness – should do the trick.

Go read Sharyl Attkisson’s latest report from the Fast and Furious doc dump featuring a former DOJ Flack giving Holder Crisis Management advise on how to manipulate the media and Gruber the nation. Then, for sh*ts and giggles, go watch some old youtube videos of Holder testifying before Congress, employing said advice.

Said DOJ flack Matthew Miller to Holder in an email on October 3, 2011:

2. Find a way for you to get in front of a reporter or two about this. You don’t want to call a press conference on this because it will blow things out perspective, but if you have any events in the next few days (preferably tomorrow), you could find a way to take two or three questions on it afterwards. Or if that’s not easily doable, you could find a way to “run into” a couple of reporters on your way to something. Maybe Pete Williams, Carrie, Pete Yost — that
part can be managed. Most important is that you’re in front of a camera in a relaxed manner giving a response you have rehearsed…It would be ideal if those two things happened in the same day so you didn’t have two news cycles of responding — you want to do it all at once. There may be things you need to do to go on offense as well, but I think most important right now is that you answer the charge about covering this up. Then you can move to offense.

[Note: Pete Yost of AP wrote article on Bush-era gunwalking case that seemed to so impress Holder, he wrote " WOW!" p. 539 AP presented the story as if it were "new" although I had published on the case, Wide Receiver, months earlier, with an exclusive interview with a confidential informant from the case.]

The more I think about the offense versus defense part, I do think you should go on offense, too. After explaining what happened, you could go back at them by saying something like: “But let’s be clear what this is all about. I’ve ordered an investigation into what happened. But there are people on the Hill who don’t care about what really happened. For them this has become about scoring political points and weakening an agency charged with cracking down on gun violence. There are a lot of powerful lobbyists and their allies on the hill who have wanted to cripple the ATF for a long time, and they’re using this as an opportunity to do so. I’m not going to let them. Its clear the ATF made mistakes here. We’ve cleaned house, and we’re going to fix the agency, but we’re not going to allow it to be put out of business by people carrying water for the gun lobby.” This part has to be really carefully crafted of and delivered, but I think it could be effective as a one-two punch. (One, explain what happened with your testimony; two, punch back.)

You know those long lost IRS emails that were supposedly gone forever due to several simultaneous, multi-agency computer crashes? As many as 30,000 of Lois Lerner’s emails have been found thanks to the efforts of federal watchdogs.

The IRS has already turned over thousands of Lerner emails to congressional investigators but has said the remainder are gone forever because Lerner’s hard-drive crashed in 2011. And in June, agency Commissioner John Koskinen told Congress that back-up tapes containing the missing emails have been destroyed.

“The IRS has continually dragged its feet, changed its story, and been less than forthcoming with information related to its egregious violation of Americans’ First Amendment rights,” said Ohio GOP Rep. Jim Jordan, a member of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which has spearheaded congressional probes on the issue.

“These e-mails are long overdue, and underscore again why we need a special prosecutor to conduct an unhindered investigation. Hopefully these e-mails will help us get to the truth,” he continued.

Frederick Hill, a spokesman for Republicans on the Oversight committee, says that “it could take weeks to learn their content because they are encoded.”

Need more evidence that Obama is on a scorched earth rampage in the wake of the shellacking? How about this: he’s gone over the heads of congress again and released 4 more dangerous al Qaeda fighters from Gitmo:

President Obama has opened a new front in his hard line against the incoming Republican Congress by releasing more detainees from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, against lawmakers’ objections.

The Pentagon announced Thursday that four al Qaeda fighters from Yemen, including a senior figure who facilitated travel to Afghanistan for Arab extremists, and a Tunisian extremist would be transferred to Slovakia and Georgia.

The transfers leave 143 detainees at Guantanamo, which Obama has vowed to close. Republican lawmakers, who have been pressing the administration to stop releasing detainees amid reports that some former prisoners had joined the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, were furious.

The Regime continues to Gruber America on ObamaCare: Whoopsie Daisy: Obama Makes “Mistake” In Reporting 2013 Obamacare Enrollments, Falsely Claiming It Hit 7 Million Sign-Ups Threshold By “Mistakenly” Including Dental Plans Along With Health Care Plans

The Administration had set 7 million as its goal. It was very important, politically, that they be able to claim that had met it.

Alas, only 6.97 million people signed up for Obamacare.

So you know what time it is.

It’s time for an Obama “mistake” that just coincidentally enough happens to aid him politically — the Administration made a whoopsie-daisy and “accidentally” included almost 400,000 dental plan sign-ups in the health care figures, thus meeting its 7 million sign-up goals.

More grubering: White House: Immigration steps would boost wages:

WASHINGTON (AP) – President Barack Obama’s moves on immigration would expand the labor force and increase worker productivity, according to a White House report Friday that estimates average wages would rise over a 10-year period.

The president’s critics and even some labor allies dispute that claim.

Via the Conservative Treehouse: The Motives Behind The November Rogers/Ruppersberger “House Intelligence Panel” Report On Benghazi…

Those of you familiar with the Benghazi Brief will note the alignment and expectation of the Rogers/Ruppersberger report.  Their report is exactly as we anticipated it would be.

With a House Select Committee (Trey Gowdy) already in place, you might rightly ask yourself why did Mike Rogers and Dutch Ruppersberger even produce a report?  As you read their House Intelligence Panel Report on Benghazi it is important to note a few key aspects:

• Both Mike Rogers and Dutch Ruppersberger are members of the Congressional Gang of Eight.  They are the ONLY authors.

This is not a House Intelligence “Committee” report on Benghazi.  This is only two committee members writing a report based on prior information.

• Both Rogers and Ruppersberger would have been briefed on the CIA operations in Benghazi during 2011/2012 as the covert operation began.

• President Obama signed a finding memo in 2011 permitting Operation Zero Footprint to begin. The congressional “gang of eight” held oversight responsibilities.

• Rogers, Ruppersberger along with Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, Saxby Chambliss and Diane Feinstein would have been notified of the presidential authorization. In 2011 they were the congressionalGang of Eight.  Their lack of oversight reflected a willful blindness to the operation.

• In addition to the covert Zero Footprint Operation, the Benghazi CIA annex served as a rendition site. [We find this out in 2013 from Paula Broadwell, who was the pillow-talk recipient of information from 2012 CIA Director General David Petraeus. Broadwell and Petraeus had an extramarital affair.]

The Rogers/Ruppersberger Report is specifically designed, by wording, to provide political cover to both parties – Republicans and Democrats within the Gang of Eight particularly  included, and protected.

The Washington Times: That’s rich: Poverty level under Obama breaks 50-year record:

Fifty years after President Johnson started a $20 trillion taxpayer-funded war on poverty, the overall percentage of impoverished people in the U.S. has declined only slightly and the poor have lost ground under President Obama.

Aides said Mr. Obama doesn’t plan to commemorate the anniversary Wednesday of Johnson’s speech in 1964, which gave rise to Medicaid, Head Start and a broad range of other federal anti-poverty programs. The president’s only public event  Tuesday was a plea for Congress to approve extended benefits for the long-term unemployed, another reminder of the persistent economic troubles during Mr. Obama’s five years in office.

“What I think the American people are really looking for in 2014 is just a little bit of stability,” Mr. Obama said.

Although the president often rails against income inequality in America, his policies have had little impact overall on poverty. A record 47 million Americans receive food stamps, about 13 million more than when he took office.

The poverty rate has stood at 15 percent for three consecutive years, the first time that has happened since the mid-1960s. The poverty rate in 1965 was 17.3 percent; it was 12.5 percent in 2007, before the Great Recession.

About 50 million Americans live below the poverty line, which the federal government defined in 2012 as an annual income of $23,492 for a family of four.

Last but not least: Have you heard about the frequent White House visitor, Dem donor and “gay rights pioneer” who’s been accused of molesting a 15 year old boy?

terrancebean3

A leading pro-abortion and gay rights activist who visited the White House numerous times has been charged with sexually abusing a 15-year-old boy.

Terrance P. Bean, 66, is a major Democratic donor and helped found the Human Rights Campaign and the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund.

According to The Oregonian, Bean was arrested at his Portland home on Wednesday and charged with two counts of third-degree sodomy and one count of third-degree sex abuse for an incident involving the underage male that occurred in 2013 in Eugene, Oregon.

Bean’s 24-year-old ex-boyfriend Kiah Lawson was also arrested in connection with the crime on Thursday.

Both are accused of having a sexual encounter with the boy at a Eugene hotel room.

Totally not something you would expect from the criminal conspiracy masquerading as a political party, am I right?

Jeanine Pirro To Obama: ‘Stop With the Smug, Tony Soprano Type Threats’ (Video)

You knew it was coming. Judge Jeanine Pirro had some stern words for Emperor Obama about his imperial immigration decree on Justice, Saturday night.

“This is not prosecutorial discretion,” she declared. “It is deliberate, unrestrained,  irresponsible, and unprecedented defiance of the US Constitution, and the of the rule of law.”

“And stop with the smug, Tony Soprano type threats, she said, referring to Obama’s repeated “put a bill on my desk, or else” threats that sound unnervingly like extortion.

“You’re so arrogant that instead of giving the new congress a chance to pass a fair immigration law – you just do your own thing!”

She added, “but I have to give you credit, because only one week after a historic shellacking, your thuggish move has cornered Republicans. They now must act, or suffer political consequences.”

You’ve created a precedent for for future presidents to outright ignore the law – from granting waivers to changing ObamaCare deadline dates, instructing prosecutors to not enforce certain drug laws, and telling ICE agents to not enforce the immigration laws, and not deporting those who are both illegal and criminal.

Pirro envisioned a near future in which a Republican president could throw out any number of laws that he doesn’t like. (But she forgets to note  the key element that will prevent that from happening – the change in demographics Obama is forcing on the nation.)

She went on to note, that what Obama did “was a slap in the face to every immigrant who follows the rules.” She said Obama made the millions of people who became US citizens the right way, “feel like schmucks.”

She had on Republican Congressman, Andrew Schwartz to talk about Obama’s latest tyrannical overreach.

Pirro and economist Stephen Moore discuss the economic cost of Obama’s immigration edict:

Sheriffs across the country react to the edict, plan demonstration in Washington DC December 10.

Krauthammer called Obama “a cynical and ruthless politician,” calling to attention the line in the president’s immigration address where he said Congress should not shut the government down again over this.

Senator Jeff Sessions: ‘TIME TO STAND STRONG FOR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE’

“It’s time for us to stand up for the American worker, for a change. One thing you didn’t hear last night in the President’s remarks was any concern about recent immigrants’ salaries; American workers’ difficulties finding a job, [or] the steady decline in wages that have occurred in this country…

A nation owes things to its people. It owes responsibility and fidelity to their interests. And the average working truck driver is worth just as much as Mr. Zuckerberg. Just as much as the Wall Street ‘Masters of the Universe.’ Who’s representing them? Mr. Gates demands action from President Obama… The same week Microsoft laid off 18,000 workers… If you want to be able to lead the American people, you should serve their interests.”

“The problem I have is I can’t tell which ones are good and which ones are evil, and neither can you. By their very definition they are undocumented.”

“Untracked, untraced and unaccounted for  - there is no way to know which of the 12 million undocumented persons in this country are good or bad. Don’t you think there should be some way of knowing, or at least some way to track [them]?” he asked.

“This is not about racism  - it is about an increasingly violent and uncertain world in which we are inadequately protected,” Jones continues.

“Mr. President, my request to you today can simply be stated: make immigration reform a priority. I do not care which reform you choose. Pathway to citizenship, guest work program, or any of the other innovative programs that currently exist.”

“But deferred action or amnesty is deferring this crisis. It is not reform, it’s simply giving up. It does nothing to make America or the undocumented population any safer.”
