This What Educational Failure Looks Like

The expression is that “A picture is worth a thousand words”.

This one is the ultimate intellectual expression of the American Left. In it, one sees the contempt that they have for other people’s achievements, and those who help perpetuate society by safeguarding those achievements and keeping the peace. Any discussion of the inconvenient truth that no matter WHO leads it, Marx/Commu/Socialism will never work is wasted on people who can find eloquence in excrement.  They are blind to a political and economic system that allows the individual to “pursue happiness” by taking responsibility for their own destiny, rather than being yoked to a collective standard chosen by other people.

I have had exchanges with some of the #OWS (Occupy Wall Street) supporters this week on Twitter.  All condemn the “greed” of Wall Street, while being completely blind to their own envy and sense of entitlement to what these “evil” greedy people have. They rail against corporations for their lack of “accountability to the people”, and refuse to acknowledge that corporations answer to their shareholders and the government, and were designed that way, instead of focusing their attentions on the people who were always intended to be accountable to them: elected officials.

They tell their sob stories of hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt for their MFA degrees and living in parents’ basements, unable to get food stamps for their cats, or jobs that allow them to pay back their student loans. Each adds their plaintive voices to a chorus of whiny stories that call themselves “We Are the 99%” as opposed to the evil, greedy 1% of rich people who they feel entitled to “take” from. I’d call them “We Are The Falsely Entitled”. They talk about “new” economic models where workers have a say in how businesses are run, and how they have to “collapse the system” in order to build a society that is “fair” and doesn’t pick winners and losers, which is utter nonsense.  If society didn’t pick winners and losers, then you should be able to go to the corner store and purchase an ice cold Chrystal Pepsi for yourself.  They are immune to the suggestion that it is reasonable and understandable to be angry about a government that picks winners and losers, when its role is to act as referree.

This insistence on “fairness” is the expression of the naive and those blinded by envy, both of whom are eminently willing to surrender a potential that they have been tricked into thinking that they do not have, or that they are too afraid to command for themselves, to people only too willing to harness for their own ends. In either event, their childish notion of “fairness” pervades their demands and beliefs. A fairness that betrays opportunity for a physical equality, doled out by beneficent “rulers” who decide what is best for all and make it the assigned task for society.

But what I find the most offensive is that this segment of society, clinging to their Noam Chomsky readers, talking about the need for greater Democracy everywhere, and approving of every new law made by activist federal courts over the last 40 years utterly rejects the Democratic apparatus we already have.  It is urgent to “collapse the system” because “The Corporations” make all the choices for them, leaving the voter with only Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee when the time comes to cast the ballots. When you point out the flaws in this thinking, such as the success that the Tea Party had in backing and electing candidates in 2010, they only offer the electronic equivalent of a blank stare, followed by “That can’t be right. I saw all about the Tea Party is bad on MSNBC.”

When you suggest that if they really are the 99%, then it should be any problem for them to field and elect their own candidates, the only response is mumbling about corruption. And when you suggest that they simply don’t have the right to “collapse” a system that everyone else in society relies on, and has built their lives around, then they don’t have much to say at all, other than to condemn you as one of the 1% or as someone being led by the nose by that 1%.

As ridiculous as they appear to be, their ignorance and their appetites are dangerous. This is a mob that largely has no understanding of civics, of their political history, both the one that is their birthright, and the one they stupidly embrace, and yet believe that society can and should provide them with a life free from want, difficulty, or hard labor. They demonstrate no understanding that the democracy they cry out for is, at its core, only what 50%+1 wants, or that without safeguards for the minorities that are part of the system they want to collapse, they will inevitably be part of the 49%. While I don’t want to spare them the impact of learning that lesson firsthand, I do not want to live in the environment that would teach them, because revolutions are messy, and the temptation for the rest of the world to interfere is too great.  That means that we HAVE to engage them, and let them know that they are nowhere near being 99%, and that the only reason this has gone on this long is because the rest of us had to get up and go to work in the morning.

Good News: House Votes To Defund ACORN Successor Groups

Bad news: It remains to be seen whether the measure will be taken up by the Senate.

Still, good news is good news, and Matthew Vadum brings the glad tidings at the American Spectator:

Last week the U.S. House of Representatives voted to block funding to any remaining ACORN affiliates and to “new” ACORN groups that have sprung up over the last year.

The ACORN network of 370-plus organizations is not actually dead, as I’ve written. It is merely restructuring itself. The lead corporate entity, ACORN, filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy, but the state chapters and other branches of the infamous activist network continue to operate. Other affiliates including vote manufacturers Project Vote and housing bubble generator ACORN Housing continue in business. ACORN Housing changed its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America.

ACORN insiders acknowledge a reconstituted ACORN will emerge in time to help the reelection campaign of President Obama, who used to work for ACORN.

Three Republicans voted against the measure; Robert Aderholt (R-Alabama), Mike Simpson (R-Idaho), and Paul Gosar (R-Arizona).

Vadum is the author of the new book Subversion Inc.: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers.

Obama Campaign Hawking “Made in the USA” Mugs and Tee Shirts

Jake Tapper has the story:

President Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign today started selling “Made in the USA” t-shirts featuring images of both President Obama and the long-form birth certificate he released copies of last month.

“Wear your support for this campaign with an official Made in the USA T-shirt,” his website advertises. Donate $25 or more today and we’ll send you your limited-edition shirt.

Coffee-mugs are also available.

Okay, so the Obama camp must think the birth certificate issue helps them. I’m not sure why after the deplorable way Obama handled the whole deal.

After purposefully blocking examination of the document for two and a half years, Obama expects unanimous praise for finally producing it? Really?

Well guess what. More than a few  of  us think there’s something profoundly weird about the way Obama handled the  issue right from the beginning, when he posted a copy of his  COLB on The Daily Kos, for cripes sake.

One wonders what reporters such as Tapper would have thought if a notable Republican had done this. Wouldn’t they have found it uncommon strange that the Republican candidate  was retaining lawyers and  amassing affidavits rather than producing  what turned out to be an easily producible document? Would they have aimed their poison pens at the people asking the questions rather than the candidate who was shiftily taking steps to avoid producing something so readily available?

As Andrew McCarthy opined after Obama finally produced the birth certificate:

… let’s not ignore that Obama did move heaven and earth. This is not just a matter of him thumbing his nose at a fringe collection of nutty “birthers.” There have been several court cases. It is flat out bizarre that one should have to be sued to compel conformance with a routine that millions of Americans comply with every day. Many of these court cases, if not all, could have been short-circuited (indeed, many of the later ones would not have been filed at all) if Obama had just produced the birth certificate. Instead, he not only refused to produce it; he and his campaign paid thousands of dollars in legal fees (in some places it is reported to be well over a million dollars) to fight the lawsuits — and Obama’s lawyers even threatened to seek disciplinary sanctions against lawyers for daring to file the lawsuits. Since Obama has been president, moreover, not just the time of courts and private lawyers has been tied up; government lawyers have had to spend their time — on the public’s dime — on this nonsense.

But we’re supposed to forget all that. “Born in the USA!” “Fight the smears!”

McCarthy writes that the only thing about the whole stinking matter that’s clear, is that Obama knows that the MSM is in his hip pocket.

 That is, he knew that he would not be held to the same standard as other politicians, and that if he acted in an unreasonable manner by withholding basic, easily available information that any other person seeking the presidency would be expected — be compelled — to produce, the media would portray as weirdos those demanding the information, not Obama and his stonewalling accomplices. And he also knows that, having now finally produced the document only because the game was starting to hurt him politically, the media will not focus on how easy it would have been to produce the birth certificate three years ago, or on how much time and money has been wasted by his gamesmanship; they’ll instead portray him as beleaguered and the people who have been seeking the basic information (i.e., doing the media’s job) as discredited whackos.

…Which brings us back to Tapper:

“Remember ‘fight the smears’ from the 2008 campaign?” asked campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt. “This is the mobile version of it.”

“Fight the Smears” was an Obama campaign website from 2008 that attempted to refute untruths about the campaign, such as the claim that then-Sen. Obama was a Muslim.

Yes, I remember the farcical “Fight the Smears” website. The one that insisted that Obama barely knew Bill Ayers when we know otherwise,  and had little to do with ACORN, when we know otherwise.

That Fight the Smears post that Tapper linked to purports that Obama never practiced Islam:

“Barack Obama has never been Muslim and never practiced Islam. But rumors about his religion intended to frighten some voters persist, and they mostly return to one point of fact: his name. “Barack” is the candidate’s Kenyan father’s name; Obama’s middle name, “Hussein,” is his grandfather’s name. Obama has described his father as atheist or agnostic. His Kansan mom, whose grandparents were devout Protestants, lived a secular life. Obama’s only personal contact with Islam came as a boy when he moved to Jakarta, Indonesia, with a stepfather who mixed his Islam with Hindu and Animist traditions. In five years there, Obama attended a Roman Catholic school, then a public elementary school, where he sat through a class each week of religious studies. As an adult, Obama turned to Christianity in the late ’80s in Chicago, at Trinity United Church of Christ, where he was baptized, married‹and baptized his kids. As a new U.S. senator, Obama took his oath on the family Bible.”

Psssst, Tapper – Obama did indeed practice Islam in Indonesia as a child. It’s not exactly a secret…

In Suborned in the USA, McCarthy wrote:

In any event, the records of the Catholic school and the public school Obama attended during his last year in Indonesia identify him as a Muslim. As Obama relates in Dreams from My Father, he took Koran classes. As Obama doesn’t relate in Dreams from My Father, children in Indonesia attended religious instruction in accordance with their family’s chosen faith. Moreover, acquaintances recall that young Barry occasionally attended Friday prayers at the local mosque, and Maya Soetoro-Ng, Obama’s half-sister (born after Lolo and Ann moved the family to Jakarta), told the New York Times in a 2008 interview, “My whole family was Muslim, and most of the people I knew were Muslim.” In fact, back in March 2007 — i.e., during the early “Islamic ties are good” phase of Obama’s campaign — the candidate wistfully shared with New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof his memories of the muezzin’s Arabic call to prayer: “one of the prettiest sounds on earth at sunset.” Kristof marveled at the “first-rate accent” with which Obama was able to repeat its opening lines.

You want to revisit all this crap?  Let’s do it. Not that it matters, but why lie about it? And why enable the lies?

The Obama Camp is up to its old dishonest tricks. Not that they have ever been anything but dishonest.

Depressingly, the MSM is still more than happy to play along.

Jack Cashill at The American Thinker calls the pathetic cabal of  lickspittles who cover American politics in the MSM  these days, “anti-journalists”,  in a recent piece at the American Thinker.

Unlike every other candidate in modern presidential history, Obama did not choose to share any of his essential documents, and the media happily obliged him.  As Corsi details, Obama has shielded those records involved with his adoption, his kindergarten, Punahou School, Occidental College, his passport and travel, Columbia University (including his senior thesis), Harvard Law School, his medical history, his Chicago law practice, his State Senate career, as well as his SAT and LSAT scores, and, until recently, his very birth certificate.
Then, too, there is the question of Obama’s Connecticut-based Social Security number, a question that Corsi tackles, but the media inevitably dodge.

You know what’s strange? Jerome Corsi was once widely admired by Republicans for co- writing the Swift-boat tell-all that torpedoed John Kerry’s presidential campaign. He wrote the truth about Kerry’s record in Vietnam, and it was ugly. We dug him for that.

Now, Corsi is persona non grata in polite circles… nobody wants to pay attention to his years of research into Obama’s origins because suddenly it’s become uncool to do so. Because the anti-journalists, or ” journolisters” tell us so.

We know these people run cover for Obama…we know they lie….we know they would be in constant attack mode if a Republican had half of the background questions Obama has. Yet, we back off like wussies.

ACORN Reanimating Under New Names – In Time For 2012 Elections

A new book by Matthew Vadum, “Subversion Inc.: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers“  has been called “0ne of the most comprehensive compilations of evidence against ACORN available,” by Congressman Steve King (R-Iowa). The G-Man calls it “dynamite with a short fuse.”

In The American Spectator, Vadum writes that ACORN is much worse than everything we’ve heard: “It celebrates and promotes the worst pathologies in society in an effort to kill the American experiment in self-governance”.

And it’s in the process of restructuring just in time for the 2012 elections:

ACORN chief organizer Bertha Lewis has created a group called the Black Institute whose agenda is essentially identical to ACORN’s. ACORN founder Wade Rathke is spreading the gospel of Marxist social justice around the world through his offshoot group ACORN International (also known as Community Organizations International).

State chapters have incorporated themselves under new names. New York became New York Communities for Change. California became Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment. Texas became Texas Organizing Project. ACORN’s vote manufacturing division, Project Vote, still operates under the same name and small-c communist Frances Fox Piven still sits on its board. ACORN’s housing bubble generator, ACORN Housing, changed its name to Affordable Housing Centers of America. It’s the same people in the same offices and it just goes on and on.

ACORN insiders have admitted that the “new” groups will re-federate under a new name soon.

Vadum appeared on the “G. Gordon Liddy Show” on May 12, 2011 to discuss his new book.

Vadum’s right – a RICO investigation  and charges of racketeering are in order for ACORN, but the chance of that happening under our radical, community organizing President and his corrupt, enabling Attorney General,  is obviously less than 0. And see, there’s the rub. These Zombie ACORN groups can do a lot of damage to the country before we see a Republican White House – and in fact could help  prevent one through massive voter fraud.

That’s why citizen journalists across the nation need to be on the lookout for these reanimated ACORN groups, and apply the most effective disinfectant – sunlight – on them whenever possible.

At one point I wrote:

The  MSM are covering the Obama Ayers connection thus: Obama and Ayers were just  a couple of guys who ran into each other occasionally, served on a board together, and lived in the same neighborhood. They are all careful to mention that Obama has condemned Ayers’ despicable acts that occurred when Obama was only eight years old.

In other words, they are pretty much parroting the Obama campaign’s talking points.

The McCain campaign really needs to put out an ad that is specific and detailed, beyond making allegations. They should be in contact with Stanley Kurtz for help with this.

Well, you know how this story turned out: The MSM ran cover for Obama to the bitter end.  The McCain campaign epically failed to go over the heads of the media and give the American people the information they needed to make a responsible decision at the ballot box. Sarah Palin tried to warn voters as much as she could, but she was muzzled by the McCain campaign from saying too much.

Why? Were they afraid of being called racists? Were they afraid of being called red-baiters? Look how much we’re paying for their cowardice, now.

I’ll never understand why Republicans didn’t put out ads that connected the dots and guided voters to where they could find more information. The independents who are recoiling now, could have been reached. Eh…. but I digress.

Stanley Kurtz has been spending the past couple of years researching Obama’s background, and filling in the blanks. His new book, Radical-in-Chief: Barack Obama and the Untold Story of American Socialism is the result of his efforts.

In this excerpt at NRO, Kurtz details Obama’s involvement with a little-known Chicago training institute for community organizers, the Midwest Academy, which he believes is the  the key to  Obama’s political rise.

Officials from the Midwest Academy network trained Obama, supplied him with funds, and got him appointed head of Illinois Project Vote. Years later, Obama sent foundation money to the Midwest Academy. Barack and Michelle Obama ran a project called “Public Allies” that was effectively an extension of the Midwest Academy. Alice Palmer, the Illinois state senator who chose Obama as her successor, was once a high official in the Midwest Academy network. Several Midwest Academy leaders advised Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. Academy founder Heather Booth is now a key figure in coordinating grassroots support for the president’s budget, health-care, and financial-reform plans.

The leaders of the Midwest Academy were eager to avoid public exposure of their socialism. Yet they trusted Obama enough to put him on the board of their satellite organization, Chicago Public Allies, and to succeed one of their own as state senator.

As I detail at length in Radical-in-Chief, deceptions and glaring omissions about his radical past reach far beyond Obama’s involvement with the Socialist Scholars conferences and the Midwest Academy. Archival documents reveal that Obama lied during the 2008 campaign about his ties to ACORN. New evidence confirms that Obama has hidden the truth about his relationships to Jeremiah Wright and Bill Ayers. The unknown story of Obama’s deep involvement with a radical group called UNO of Chicago is revealed. The claims of candidate Obama and his mentors that he shunned Saul Alinsky’s confrontational tactics turn out to be a sugary fairy tale. The obfuscating techniques of Obama’s memoir, Dreams from My Father, are exposed.

The pattern of misdirection upon which President Obama’s political career has been built has its roots in the socialist background of community organizing. ACORN, Reverend Wright, and Bill Ayers were all routes into that hidden socialist world, and that is why Obama has had to obscure the truth about these and other elements of his past. More important, the president’s socialist past is still very much alive in the governing philosophy and long-term political strategy of the Obama administration.

Obama is not going to “triangulate”.  He’s not going to mellow out… he’s not going to give up. The guy is a true believer. A red diaper baby who knows nothing else but the Marxism he was spoon-fed from an early age.

Republicans are riding a wave of massive voter disgust with Obama and his enablers in Congress.

As almost everyone would agree, in a democracy the integrity of the vote is paramount.  If significant fraud or intimidation occurs at our polling places during an election, our democratic system of government is in peril.

PJMedia has been at the forefront of this struggle for integrity of the vote, most recently via its coverage of the Department of Justice/New Black Panther  controversy. This coverage was led by DOJ whistle blower and former attorney in the department’s voter rights division, J. DOJ Funneling Federal Funds To Community Organizers, Now?

Not a single day has gone by with this bunch of corrupt totalitarians in power, without one outrage or another coming to light.

This is so sick. Thank you, Byron York, for bringing this to our attention:

In the past, when the Civil Rights Division filed suit against, say, a bank or a landlord, alleging discrimination in lending or rentals, the cases were often settled by the defendant paying a fine to the U.S. Treasury and agreeing to put aside a sum of money to compensate the alleged discrimination victims. There was then a search for those victims — people who were actually denied a loan or an apartment — who stood to be compensated. After everyone who could be found was paid, there was often money left over. That money was returned to the defendant.

Now, Attorney General Eric Holder and Civil Rights Division chief Thomas Perez have a new plan. Any unspent money will not go back to the defendant but will instead go to a “qualified organization” approved by the Justice Department. And if there is not enough unspent money — that will be determined by the Department — then the defendant might be required to come up with more money to give to the “qualified organization.”

Captain Ed makes note of the obvious:

Presumably, ACORN’s successor organizations would qualify as one of the DoJ’s select list of recipients of these funds.  After all, the description is practically written to fit the original ACORN, from a case in LA: “qualified organization(s) mutually agreed upon by the United States and defendants…for the purpose of conducting fair housing enforcement or educational activities in Los Angeles County.”  It’s a dodge designed to provide federal funds for community organizers.

Of course. This is most likely one of the unspoken Dem strategies for 2010 and 2012.

And it’s already in practice, as Byron reported:

The arrangement was used in a recently-settled case, United States v. AIG Federal Savings Bank and Wilmington Finance. The Justice Department alleged that AIG violated the Fair Housing Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act by allowing third-party wholesale mortgage brokers to “charge African-American borrowers higher direct broker fees for residential real estate-related loans than white borrowers.” The financial institution denied any wrongdoing, and there was no factual finding of wrongdoing. Nevertheless, under the terms of a March 19, 2010 consent decree, AIG agreed to pay $6.1 million to “aggrieved persons who may have suffered as a result of the alleged violations.”

That is standard procedure in such cases. But then AIG also agreed, in the words of the consent decree, to “provide a minimum of $1,000,000 to qualified organization(s) to provide credit counseling, financial literacy, and other related educational programs targeted at African-American borrowers.” The money would come from unspent funds in the victim-compensation fund. But if it turned out that, after paying off the victims, there was less than $1 million left in the victim-compensation fund, AIG agreed to “replenish the settlement fund so that it contains $1,000,000 for distribution for those educational purposes.”

These “qualified organizations” would likely strongly  resemble the one that was only too happy to provide credit counseling to a pimp and hooker planning to run a brothel from their house with underage illegal aliens.

Hope and change never looked so decrepit and seedy.

New Documents Obtained by Judicial Watch Reveal Deliberate Election fraud By ACORN

The Obama Justice Dept. will begin its investigation – 3..2…1…never.

The Daily Caller has the story:

The documents obtained by Judicial Watch, a watchdog group, are FBI investigators’ reports related to the 2007 investigation and arrest of eight St. Louis, Mo., workers from ACORN’s Project Vote affiliate for violation of election laws. All eight employees involved in the scandal later pleaded guilty to voter registration fraud.

Project Vote is ACORN’s voter registration arm. Project Vote continues to operate despite the reported dissolution of the national structure of ACORN.

The handwritten reports by FBI agents show that ACORN employees reported numerous irregularities in the nonprofit group’s business practices.

One employee told the FBI that ACORN headquarters is “wkg [working] for the Democratic Party.”

According to one report, an ACORN employee said the purpose of “[f]raudulent cards” was “[t]o cause confusion on election day to keep polls open longer,” “[t]o allow people who can’t vote to vote,” and “[t]o allow to vote multiple times.”

Another report quotes an employee saying, “Project Vote will pay them whether cards fake or not – whatever they had to do to get the cards was attitude.” Project Vote pays based on the number of cards and “that’s why they were so reckless,” the report says.

ACORN’s “repulsive spinmonster“, Scott (“tsk-tsk”) Levenson, couldn’t be reached for comment.

Okay, who’s reassured by this:

“These documents show the need for a national criminal investigation by the Obama Justice Department into ACORN,” said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch.

Obama, of course, has an extensive background working with ACORN, (which he repeatedly denied during the ’08 Presidential campaign).

Meanwhile, ACORN is shapeshifting  into new  organizations under different names, all over America.

The Daily Caller reports:

So far ACORN has rebranded in 13 states plus the District of Columbia.

I met this charming lady while I was in New Orleans, back in April  attending the SRLC . I remember introducing her to my husband as, “ACORN whistle-blower, Anita MonCrief”. And a whistle-blower she certainly is – Anita’s a rare bird who has been inside the belly of the beast – an enthusiastic participant inside a stealth movement, which she slowly but  surely came to understand was a stealth Socialist movement. She eventually became disenchanted, and left.

Now she wants the whole world to understand what we’re dealing with.

Defining stealth socialism

Graham L. Strachan explained the “stealth socialism” path this way:

“Why did the Western media persist in calling the social system in the Communist bloc ‘Communism’ instead of Socialism? They did it to manufacture a false reality: to protect the reputation of another form of Socialism which existed in the West….so-called ‘Democratic Socialism’, socialism by stealth, socialism achieved through the ‘permeation’ of existing political institutions by members of organisation such as the Fabian Society, in order to influence the policies adopted by those institutions towards socialism.

“Democratic Socialism itself was based on a lie: that Socialism could be implemented peacefully through the ballot box. The implication was that if the voters didn’t like it they could vote it out again. That was a hoax. Since Socialism does not permit private ownership of property, it cannot be ‘democratic’ in the sense of allowing a choice of political Parties. This is not a matter of ideology, but of logistics. It would be impossible to have a two Party system of genuine democracy, for example, under which the state nationalised all property including business when the Socialists were voted into power, then sold it all back to the people again when they were voted out. The intention of Democratic Socialism was (and still is) to be democratic just long enough to gain power. Then it will declare the ‘end of history’ and entrench itself forever, enforcing its politically correct speech and thought on everybody, and being just as tyrannical as its Marxist revolutionary counterparts.”

How to make a socialist the ACORN way

As an ACORN insider my indoctrination as a socialist was a slow but steady progression from radical liberalism to embracing the stealth socialist methods that had made ACORN a powerful force in American electoral politics. Two years ago, in the mist of a heated presidential election year, I noticed a Facebook page of Socialism 2008. The graffiti-like picture beckoned young Socialists to Chicago, Illinois on June 19th, 2008.  I RSVPed for the event on Facebook without fully understanding what had just taken place. The line between radical, liberal Democrat and socialist was almost invisible at this point.

Supreme Court Upholds ACORN Funding Ban

Whoa.

Via Big Government, we hear some fabulous news:

The Supreme Court has turned down ACORN’s request for help in its lawsuit claiming Congress was wrong to shut off the activist group’s federal funding.

The high court on Friday refused to throw out a decision by the federal appellate court in New York City. That court had decided to freeze a judge’s determination that Congress acted unconstitutionally in yanking the group’s funding.

ACORN may not be dead, but it’s certainly on life support.

When speaking to the general public, Bertha Lewis is known for her lies and obfuscations. But behind closed doors, talking to fellow travelers, she lets it all hang out:

While she certainly seems sincere, it is almost unimaginable that she truly believes the coming conservative re-alignment will lead to a new era of McCarthyism, segregation – and internment!? More than likely, considering the audience, she was purposefully exaggerating in order to build momentum towards her recruitment pitch. But in case there is any doubt, I think I can safely speak for most conservatives in saying that our only interest is in achieving (overwhelming) victory at the ballot box, and then beginning to get the growth of Big Government and federal spending under control.

Frankly, we want more progressives to openly declare their belief in democratic socialism. Because in an open and honest debate of principles and ideas, there is no doubt we win with the American public. So any talk about renewed McCarthyism, segregation, and internment (!?) is just utterly ridiculous.

Lewis was being honest about her Socialism, but was using nonsensical hyperbole to rev up her young audience. Unfortunately, most Dem Socialists can’t be that honest about who they are, so they speak in generalities about “social justice”, and “fairness”. But the results are the same, reduced individual freedom, and incentive:

The rich stay rich, the poor stay poor, and the classless society becomes one where the boundaries of class are nigh impossible to break.

The Obama administration has already restored full funding to ACORN, which used to employ  Obama.

Gateway Pundit reviewed the President’s extensive history with ACORN:

One of Barack Obama’s first big “community organizer” jobs involved ACORN in 1992. He worked along side ACORN before he became an elected official. Obama also trained ACORN employees. He represented ACORN in court. Obama worked with and protested with ACORN. His campaign donated $800,000 to ACORN in 2008 for voter registration efforts.
And, ACORN even canvassed for Obama in 2008.

In 2009 Obama promoted a top ACORN operative, Patrick Gaspard, who’s organization was fined $775,000 for election violations, to a top post in the White House. Gespard is helping shape domestic policy today.

As I noted yesterday, ACORN is back in business, just in time for the mid term elections, this Fall.

ACORN Resurrection: Bertha Lewis Sends Out ACORN Fundraising Letter

ACORN has risen from the dead to “empower working families”, fight for justice, and help Democrats get elected. The Dems are going to need all the help they can get this Fall.

The organized crime syndicate known as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN), which has been making much ado about its feigned withdrawal from the national political stage, continues doing business as usual.

Proof comes in the form of an email, which went out to ACORN supporters on April 16 and which came two weeks after ACORN’s faked dissolution on April Fool’s Day as a national organization.

ACORN chief organizer,  Bertha Lewis writes:

ACORN is not dead!

ACORN is alive because you are alive and still fighting for justice. Over the past 40 years, ACORN members have been through a lot in the fight to empower working families and families of color — and it has been the commitment of people like you, regular folks doing extraordinary things, that has made it possible.

It’s weird that she felt the need to separate working families from families of color. Colander approves! <<(link fixed).

The worst part:

…the Obama administration has already restored full funding to ACORN, which used to employ President Obama.

The fiscal floodgates are opening for ACORN, the president’s former employer and legal client, despite a congressional ban on funding the activist group that has long been a practitioner of election fraud.

In a March 16 memo Office of Management and Budget (OMB) director Peter Orszag quietly ordered federal agencies to resume funding the group whose employees were caught on hidden camera videos last year condoning a variety of crimes including child prostitution and tax evasion.

Looks like they’re back in business  – and Republicans in Congress are powerless to do anything about it. Why they didn’t cut off federal funding of ACORN years ago, when they held majorities, I’ll never understand.

Video: Andrew Breitbart’s SRLC Speech

Breitbart’s speech was one of my favorites…Oh, who am I kidding? It was probably my favorite…I get such a kick out of the guy:

True story: At the bloggers bash, Friday night, Andrew introduced us to his lawyer buddy, who he assured us was “no conservative”. He served as Breitbart’s witness that Breitbart predicted everything ACORN, and the “institutional left” would say and do in response to the ACORN sting videos – right down to who would say what….which is why Breitbart dropped the videos one at a time in order to ensnare the media, who kept falling into the trap.

ACORN Kicked Out Of Ohio

Great news from the Columbus Dispatch:

ACORN, the liberal group notorious for allegedly trying to inflate voter rolls through fraudulent practices, has seen its last election in Ohio.

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now will permanently surrender its Ohio business license by June1 as part of a legal settlement with the conservative Buckeye Institute for Public Policy Solutions, both sides said yesterday.

ACORN was active in Ohio in the 2006 and 2008 elections, working to register thousands of low-income people to vote and get them to the polls. The group’s efforts were marred by irregularities, including one case in which ACORN workers allegedly induced a Cleveland man to register to vote 72 times, offering cigarettes as an incentive.

Not all news on the ACORN front, today is good. Liberal blogs are celebrating this decision, today, which is just a reaffirmation of what a federal judge said in December:

A federal judge retained her position that it is unconstitutional for Congress to prevent funding for the activist group ACORN after a government request that she reconsider.

U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon cemented her earlier decision in December and made the injunction against government intervention permanent, asking all federal agencies to spread the word that money to ACORN be allowed without delay.

The judge wrote that it was “unmistakable that Congress determined ACORN’s guilt before defunding it.” Congress may investigate ACORN but cannot “rely on the negative results of a congressional or executive report as a rationale to impose a broad, punitive funding ban on a specific, named organization.”

Can the judge please explain why it’s constitutional for the American taxpayer to fund this corrupt arm of the Democrat party? I’ve never understood that.

A state court in Baltimore has dismissed ACORN’s lawsuit against James O’Keefe, Hannah Giles, and Breitbart.com LLC after the plaintiffs failed to serve the complaint on the defendants within Maryland’s 120-day limit.

Media Matters’ Eric Boehlert Strangely Silent In Wake Of Patterico’s $100 Dollar Challenge

I can’t imagine why.

You see, if you follow Andrew Breitbart’s Twitter feed, (and if you don’t, you’re really missing out on some highly entertaining stuff), you know that Media Matters’ Eric Boehlert, and other bottom feeders on the left have been taunting Breitbart about what they think is a monumental  debunking of  James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles’ ACORN sting operation. They’re pretty sure they’ve got him on the ropes.

Eric Boehlert has written a number of Media Matters posts triumphantly exposing the massive “ACORN Pimp hoax”, based on (what he deems) the explosive revelation that James O’Keefe didn’t wear the pimp outfit you see below, during the stings , even though he wore them in the promos!!!111!:

Now, I followed and blogged about the ACORN sting operation since the very first video came out. I’m pretty sure I always knew that the theatrical pimp outfit was used for promotional purposes, and O’Keefe was not actually dressed that way in the ACORN offices. I’m not sure why I knew that, but…wait, yes I do - because it was too utterly ridiculous?—oh, and because the very first video shows him dressed in a normal button down shirt, and  trousers?

It was understood.

I’m not sure how  O’Keefe’s wardrobe invalidates what the videos make clear: that the ACORN workers in all but one of the stings were more than happy to assist a pimp and prostitute in  buying a house and in setting up a brothel filled with underage girls from El Salvador. Some of the  criminal activities the ACORN workers were cheerfully willing to facilitate: prostitution, organizing prostitution, bank fraud, filing false documents with the federal government, impairing the welfare of a minor,   immigration violations, and bringing women and minors over state lines for immoral purposes.

But, apparently because O’Keefe didn’t actually wear the outlandish outfit you see above during the stings, none of that matters? LOL.

Seriously, though…this is how Media Matters operates. They will endeavor to invalidate the larger truth of a story, based on one minor flaw, or error that they can sniff out, and then they blow it out of proportion.

Here’s is Patterico’s challenge:

I am offering Eric Boehlert of Media Matters the easiest $100 he ever made.

All he has to do to earn the $100: unequivocally state whether James O’Keefe pretended to be a pimp at ACORN offices. If Boehlert makes the statement publicly — with no weasel-words, no two-stepping, and no qualifications — I will PayPal him $100.

That’s all he has to do….but the only response, Patterico has gotten so far, is: “Leave me alone.” which is really sad, because I think Patterico is a pretty fair and reasonable guy.

I feel perfectly confident that he will never act to collect the C-note I am offering — even though it would require nothing more than typing a simple 8-10 word sentence. For example, this sentence would earn Boehlert $100:

James O’Keefe did not pose as a pimp at ACORN.

That’s $10 a word! Or Boehlert could earn himself a picture of Ben Franklin with this sentence:

James O’Keefe posed as a pimp at ACORN.
