Teen idol Justin Bieber is wanted for questioning by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s investigators - after a paparazzo complained of being roughed up by the young pop star at a shopping center.
The scuffle allegedly happened when the photographer tried to snap pictures of the 18-year-old and his girlfriend Selena Gomez, after they walked out of a theater at The Commons at Calabasas today.
Sheriff Lt. Robert Wiard says the photographer in question called 911 on Sunday and complained of pain to his chest.

A new book, “The Amateur,” by bestselling author, Edward Klein reveals some slimy residue from the 2008 Obama campaign that should surprise no one.
White House spokesbully, Eric Schultz accused Klein of making it up to sell more copies — in other words, it’s 100% true because every day is opposite day in President FUBAR’s White House. It certainly rings true.
The New York Post on Sunday published a conversation between Wright and Klein, the latest tidbit to come from the book. In it, Wright said once his fiery sermons surfaced during the 2008 campaign, he received an email asking him not to preach until after November:
“Who sent the e-mail?” I asked Wright.
“It was from one of Barack’s closest friends.”
“He offered you money?”
“Not directly,” Wright said. “He sent the offer to one of the members of the church, who sent it to me.”
“How much money did he offer you?”
“One hundred and fifty thousand dollars,” Wright said.
Wright said he was also visited by then-Senator Obama himself, who wanted to meet in secret.
“And one of the first things Barack said was, ‘I really wish you wouldn’t do any more public speaking until after the November election.’ He knew I had some speaking engagements lined up, and he said, ‘I wish you wouldn’t speak. It’s gonna hurt the campaign if you do that.’
“And what did you say?” I asked. “I said, ‘I don’t see it that way. And anyway, how am I supposed to support my family?’ And he said, ‘Well, I wish you wouldn’t speak in public. The press is gonna eat you alive.’

A felon incarcerated in Texas took one in three votes away from President Obama in West Virginia’s Democratic presidential primary on Tuesday.
Keith Judd, who is serving time in a federal prison in Texarkana, Texas, for extortion, took 37 percent of the vote, with 50 percent of precincts reporting. Obama captured the remaining 63 percent.
By locking up more than 15 percent, Judd may be entitled to at least one delegate at the Democratic National Convention in September.

Sergeant Schultz was giddy because when Union boss James Hoffa said he wanted to take out those sons of bitches in the tea party, he was “spot on!”
Schultz proceeded to make some truly absurd remarks about how there was nothing wrong with what Hoffa said because of things previously uttered by conservatives such as former Alaska governor Sarah Palin and Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann.
I guess he forgot about all the calls for civility in political discourse – including from himself! – following the tragic January shootings in Tucson.
Missing his own hypocrisy, Schultz actually told his viewers that President Obama’s poll numbers are down “because liberals in many parts of the country are very frustrated that nobody in the White House is talking like James Hoffa.”
Yeah, he really said that.
Note, he even took time to slam the Republican “young guns” ( Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy, Paul Ryan) because “young guns” is somehow a troublesome nickname, while glorifying Hoffa’s violent rhetoric.
You can’t make this stuff up.
Schultz brought Hoffa on via satellite to ask the burning question, “Do you think the Republicans are sons of b—hes?”
Hoffa responded, “Well, I think they are if they’re trying to take away food out of the mouth of working people.”
Well yes, that’s the thinking man’s answer. Of course middle class tea partiers (who work for a living, too) “want to take food away from the mouths of working people.” That makes perfect sense.

The claim is made in a flier Wirch’s campaign mailed July 25, 2011 to voters. The flier cites Uline, a national distributor of shipping, industrial and packaging materials, and includes this headline:
“Bob Wirch helped bring Uline to our area — creating 800 local jobs.”
So, did he?
Uline describes itself as a family-owned company that employs 2,600 employees across the country. It was founded in 1980 by Dick and Liz Uihlein; Dick Uihlein is the great-grandson of the founder of the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Co., one of Milwaukee’s famed beer makers.
The company was headquartered in Waukegan, Ill., just south of the Wisconsin border, when it announced n June 2006 that it would expand in Pleasant Prairie, a Kenosha suburb about 40 miles south of Milwaukee. Both Wirch and Steitz, a lawyer who is making his first run for public office, live in the village.
Uline made big news in January 2008, when it announced it would move its headquarters to Pleasant Prairie and build a distribution center there, investing $100 million and employing 1,000 people by 2010. The company also said it would utilize state government incentives that were later calculated to be worth up to $18.6 million over nine years.
The Wirch campaign flier led Dick and Liz Uihlein to issue a statement in response on Aug. 3, 2011.
“We worked with a variety of state and local officials during the relocation process; however, state Sen. Wirch was not one of them,” the couple said in the statement, noting they do not support Wirch’s campaign.
That’s a strong rebuttal to Wirch’s claim that he aided in the company’s move.
The statement also noted that a bill Wirch sponsored to help Pleasant Prairie with economic development — which is also mentioned in his campaign flier — was not introduced until July 2011 — months after Uline had completed its relocation. The bill was “by no means a determinative factor in our decision to relocate,” the company’s statement said.

Despite the tens of millions of union cash spent ($30 mil by some estimates) and Obama’s Organizing for America on hand to help with a massive state-wide propaganda campaign, Wisconsin Dems still managed to fail in their bid to win a majority in the State Senate.
Voters made it clear tonight that they supported Republicans reigning in the unions, balancing the budget, and controlling runaway spending. With no hopes of Democrats taking control of the Wisconsin State Senate, concern is now growing that a less enthused union backed voting block will not turn out to support the two Democrats facing recall next week- paving way for a Republican victory in those races.
Dems coming up short tonight could depress voter turnout for next week. Two Democratic state senators, Jim Holperin and Robert Wirch, face recalls next Tuesday, and Holperin is vulnerable.
Lefty progs on twitter knowing how much was at stake, howled with rage at Waukesha County clerk, Kathy Nickolaus, for no other reason than the fact that she’s still employed after her snafu, last Spring, during the Supreme Court election:
Nickolaus forgot to report the results from the City of Brookfield in an unofficial report to the Associated Press on election night in April. The results caused Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg to declare victory. Instead, when the votes from Brookfield were reported to the Government Accountability Board, incumbent Justice David Prosser was declared the winner following a lengthy recount.
Alberta Darling won her race, but the heavily Republican Waukesha County was the last one to be counted, causing Progs, unable to graciously accept defeat, to call for her head on Twitter. Some made veiled threats like this one:
In “the heat of the moment”, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Spokesman Graeme Zielinski accused Nickolaus of ‘sitting on’ Waukesha County results, and tampering with votes in the 8th Senate District recall race.
By 1:00 a.m. Wed morning, the Democrat Party of Wis had disappeared the news release from their website alleging the vote tampering:
MADISON, Wis. — Democrats are forging ahead with efforts to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker next year, one day after losing four of six recall elections to oust GOP state senators.
“The people” were supposed to be on the side of the unions who protested at the state capitol when Walker’s bill passed, limiting the unions’ collective bargaining privileges against taxpayers and school districts. But it turns out that “the people” had other ideas. In the end, even a massive infusion of cash and union volunteers was not enough to deliver the three state Senate recall races the unions needed, despite the fact that President Obama carried all six of the seats in question in 2008.
This marks the unions’ third huge defeat in Wisconsin this year. The other two were the passage of Walker’s bill and the re-election of David Prosser to the state Supreme Court. The grand talk of recalling Walker himself next year seems a bit blustery now, given the great failure of last night.

All this just one day after the government is scheduled to run out of cash!
Undoubtedly, the sight of so much money getting thrown around and dissolute stars crooning to Obama will make a stirring contrast with a federal government bankruptcy featuring unpaid government workers, seniors and soldiers wondering how they’ll afford the groceries, shuttered national parks, and angry investors trying to cash out their Treasury Bills.
If the government defaults, you can be sure the birthday bacchanal will do much more to harm Obama’s reelection prospects than help them.***

(ABC News) — August 2 is the date the US risks defaulting on its good faith and credit. August 4 is President Obama’s landmark 50th birthday.
And August 3 is on hold for Presidential travel.
It is the night that the Obama 2012 campaign has planned a splashy fundraising celebration in the President’s hometown Chicago. The historic Aragon ballroom on the north side of the city is booked for a concert and party. The Chicago Sun Times, which was the first to report on the event, says Jennifer Hudson may be lined up to perform.
But senior White House officials tell ABC News the party would go forward only if the deficit negotiations and deadline to raise the debt limit ceiling have been resolved.

The White House seems confident a deal will be made because if one isn’t, we all know that would be a catastrophe of epic proportions – or at least as bad as the Republicans’ short term deal.
… is there any policy reason why Obama won’t agree to a short-term deal or is this really as horribly cynical as it looks — that he simply refuses to do anything that might complicate his reelection campaign, even if that means a default by the United States? Jake Tapper pressed Carney about that in today’s briefing — which is worse, default or a short-term deal? — and Carney actually said, no joke, “Both are bad; I can’t choose which is worse for you.”

…there’s no reason to think Debt Ceiling II would necessarily be bloodier than Debt Ceiling I. The only sure thing is that it would take away time from Obama to fundraise and campaign, which, I guess, is worth gambling the full faith and credit of the U.S. government on.
See if you can detect a note of disgust in Charles Krauthammer’s tone as he asks, what in the heck took Obama so long:
President Barack Obama is demanding a big long-term budget deal. He won’t sign anything less, he warns, asking, “If not now, when?”
How about last December, when he ignored his own debt commission’s recommendations? How about February, when he presented a budget that increases debt by $10 trillion over the next decade? How about April, when he sought a debt-ceiling increase with zero debt reduction attached?
All of a sudden he’s a born-again budget balancer prepared to bravely take on his party by making deep cuts in entitlements. Really? Name one. He’s been saying forever that he’s prepared to discuss, engage, converse about entitlement cuts. But never once has he publicly proposed a single structural change to any entitlement.
Hasn’t the White House leaked that he’s prepared to raise the Medicare age or change the cost-of-living calculation?
Anonymous talk is cheap. Leaks are designed to manipulate. Offers are floated and disappear.
Say it, Mr. President. Give us one single structural change in entitlements. In public.
As part of the pose as the forward-looking grown-up rising above all the others who play politics, Obama insists upon a long-term deal. And what is Obama’s definition of long-term? Surprise: An agreement that gets him past Nov. 6, 2012.
Nothing could be more political. It’s like his Afghan surge wind-down date. September 2012 has no relation to any military reality on the ground. It is designed solely to position Obama favorably going into the last weeks of his re-election campaign.

A long-term deal or nothing? The Republican House should immediately pass a short-term debt-ceiling hike of $500 billion containing $500 billion in budget cuts. That would give us about five months to work on something larger.
The fat-cat tax breaks (those corporate jets) that Obama’s talking points endlessly recycle? Republicans should call for urgent negotiations on tax reform along the lines of Simpson-Bowles that, in one option, strips out annually $1.1 trillion of deductions, credits and loopholes while lowering tax rates across the board to a top rate of 23 percent.
The president says he wants tax reform, doesn’t he? Well, Mr. President, here are five months to do so.
Dare him to veto — or the Democratic Senate to block — a short-term debt-limit increase.
This is certainly better than the McConnell plan, which would simply throw debt reduction back to the president. But if the House cannot do Plan A, McConnell is the fallback Plan B.

Well, that other option had better not include some kind of 14th Amendment end-run around congress because the CRS says that won’t fly:
The non-partisan Congressional Research Service has issued a new report saying that if Congress refuses to raise the government’s borrowing limit, the White House cannot do so unilaterally under the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.
“It does not appear that the executive has the constitutional authority to borrow funds, even if they are for the express purpose of preventing a default on the debt,” said CRS, which is the non-partisan advisory research arm of Congress.
Some commenters have argued that the 14th Amendment means the government cannot suspend payments and that President Obama can act to keep funding government even without congressional authorization.
Clause four of the amendment, which was passed after the end of the Civil War, reads: “The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payments of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned.”
CRS’s experts said that language doesn’t convey any new powers on the president to circumvent Congress when it comes to borrowing or spending.
Obama plans to “take his case to the American people”, tomorrow morning.

The Associated Press is reporting that the Wisconsin Supreme Court has overruled Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi, and allowed Republican Governor Scott Walker’s labor reforms to go into effect.
“In a 4-3 decision, the court said Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi overstepped her authority when she said Republican lawmakers violated the state’s opening meetings statutes in the run-up to passage and declared the union rights law void,” the AP reports.
The Wall Street Journal quotes some tough language from the ruling: “One of the courts that we are charged with supervising has usurped the legislative power which the Wisconsin Constitution grants exclusively to the legislature.”

Okay, my turn. I know everybody’s already seen video of Obama’s awkward gaffe at Buckingham Palace.But have you seen the queen’s nicely executed toast that came right before his? Skip to 2:00 in to avoid the ridiculous and insufferable Martin Bashir’s gushing:
I was wondering if Obama’s toast was unusually long winded, but it clocked in at about the same amount of time as the queen’s, so we can’t rag on him for that.
You’ll also notice that she read her remarks off of paper, which, given her advanced age, and the length of her speech should be expected. Obama’s notes don’t strike me as that big a deal, either, although he could have bothered to memorize at least some of the lines.
No, the breech of etiquette occurred when he continued his toast after God Save The Queen had started, (like his toast had its own musical score.) He may have paused too long when he lost his place [where were you TOTUS?], or the band was told to start at the words, “to the queen”, not realizing there were two “to the queens” in the toast. It doesn’t matter whose fault it was, these things happen. That was just a mix-up. The awkwardness came because he kept right on talking, and then thought he was going to drink up before the music was done playing. The queen had to give him a look, and a slight shake of her head, as if to say, “not now, you gormless prat!”
So, it was awkward…but not abysmal.
The MSM will probably not make a huge deal out of it, nor should it – all things being equal. But they’re not. The MSM and the left (birm)would have been in a tizzy for weeks, had W done such a thing – playing it on an endless loop, in conjunction with getting the year wrong in signing the Westminster Abbey visitor’s book. There would have been such a constant drumbeat of ridicule, we would have been forced to defend his cloddish behavior, only because of their over the top reaction.
