Krauthammer: America’s Decline Is A Choice (Video)

America is in decline -but not as a result of  events, Charles Krauthammer explained on the O’Reilly Factor, Thursday night. “What we have with Obama is a president choosing decline.”

“We are in a position to dominate again, he continued, “but we have a president who doesn’t believe in American exceptionalism, American greatness and he has chosen for American to retreat from the Middle East, to not lift a finger in the Ukraine – basically to make us one nation among others and that is a choice. It can be reversed, but that’s the challenge America faces.”

Without mentioning any names, O’Reilly brought up certain conservative radio personalities who were saying what Krauthammer said right from the beginning.

“They said, ‘this guy…he wants America to decline in power, he is not going to promote our best interests. This was on right-wing talk radio, and many people – including me – were skeptical of that approach. (We know, Bill.)

Of course, O’Reilly is referring to people like Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh, who famously declared, “I hope he fails.”

Krauthammer said, “this is a man who believes America ought to retreat as a matter of ideology and in part because he wants to see all of our efforts on domestic affairs to become the Social Democracy like Europe.”

“It is very clear that he believes that America in some way perhaps doesn’t have a moral right to be the leader of the world. And I think that he feels that the sins we have created in the past the injuries we’ve inflicted on others – the Iraqis I think he would list, among others –  does not entitle us to a hegemonic position dominant position we had after the cold war,” Krauthammer concluded.

Here’s Rush’s “I hope he fails” monologue from January 16, 2009 while the the mortifying cult of Obama was in full swing. You may remember the intense indignation, anger and hysteria this incited on the left culminating in another effort on the part of Democrats to “hush Rush.”

RUSH: I got a request here from a major American print publication. “Dear Rush: For the Obama [Immaculate] Inauguration we are asking a handful of very prominent politicians, statesmen, scholars, businessmen, commentators, and economists to write 400 words on their hope for the Obama presidency. We would love to include you. If you could send us 400 words on your hope for the Obama presidency, we need it by Monday night, that would be ideal.”

Now, we’re caught in this trap again. The premise is, what is your “hope.” My hope, and please understand me when I say this. I disagree fervently with the people on our side of the aisle who have caved and who say, “Well, I hope he succeeds. We’ve got to give him a chance.” Why? They didn’t give Bush a chance in 2000. Before he was inaugurated the search-and-destroy mission had begun. I’m not talking about search-and-destroy, but I’ve been listening to Barack Obama for a year-and-a-half. I know what his politics are. I know what his plans are, as he has stated them. I don’t want them to succeed.

If I wanted Obama to succeed, I’d be happy the Republicans have laid down. And I would be encouraging Republicans to lay down and support him. Look, what he’s talking about is the absorption of as much of the private sector by the US government as possible, from the banking business, to the mortgage industry, the automobile business, to health care. I do not want the government in charge of all of these things. I don’t want this to work. So I’m thinking of replying to the guy, “Okay, I’ll send you a response, but I don’t need 400 words, I need four: I hope he fails.” (interruption) What are you laughing at? See, here’s the point. Everybody thinks it’s outrageous to say. Look, even my staff, “Oh, you can’t do that.” Why not? Why is it any different, what’s new, what is unfair about my saying I hope liberalism fails? Liberalism is our problem. Liberalism is what’s gotten us dangerously close to the precipice here. Why do I want more of it? I don’t care what the Drive-By story is. I would be honored if the Drive-By Media headlined me all day long: “Limbaugh: I Hope Obama Fails.” Somebody’s gotta say it.

Were the liberals out there hoping Bush succeeded or were they out there trying to destroy him before he was even inaugurated? Why do we have to play the game by their rules? Why do we have to accept the premise here that because of the historical nature of his presidency, that we want him to succeed? This is affirmative action, if we do that. We want to promote failure, we want to promote incompetence, we want to stand by and not object to what he’s doing simply because of the color of his skin? Sorry. I got past the historical nature of this months ago. He is the president of the United States, he’s my president, he’s a human being, and his ideas and policies are what count for me, not his skin color, not his past, not whatever ties he doesn’t have to being down with the struggle, all of that’s irrelevant to me. We’re talking about my country, the United States of America, my nieces, my nephews, your kids, your grandkids. Why in the world do we want to saddle them with more liberalism and socialism? Why would I want to do that? So I can answer it, four words, “I hope he fails.” And that would be the most outrageous thing anybody in this climate could say. Shows you just how far gone we are. Well, I know, I know. I am the last man standing.

I’m happy to be the last man standing. I’m honored to be the last man standing. Yeah, I’m the true maverick. I can do more than four words. I could say I hope he fails and I could do a brief explanation of why. You know, I want to win. If my party doesn’t, I do. If my party has sacrificed the whole concept of victory, sorry, I’m now the Republican in name only, and they are the sellouts. I’m serious about this. Why in the world, it’s what Ann Coulter was talking about, the tyranny of the majority, all these victims here, we gotta make sure the victims are finally assuaged. Well, the dirty little secret is this isn’t going to assuage anybody’s victim status, and the race industry isn’t going to go away, and the fact that America’s original sin of slavery is going to be absolved, it’s not going to happen. Just isn’t, folks. It’s too big a business for the left to keep all those things alive that divide the people of this country into groups that are against each other. Yes, I’m fired up about this.

Audio: Rush Roasts Joe Biden For Awkward Boston Bombing Memorial Gaffe

Rush Limbaugh spent some time on his radio show, Wednesday, lampooning Vice President (Joey Choo-Choo) Biden for making an awkward comment at the Boston bombing memorial, Tuesday. As you may have heard, the Vice President had a “Biden” moment, and said something totally inappropriate to the crowd of survivors. I wrote about it at Breitbart’s The Conversation, yesterday.

In visiting Limbaugh’s site looking for something else I heard Rush say, today, I was surprised and delighted to find that he had quoted me from the post I wrote at the Conversation.

RUSH: Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston Marathon bombing memorial yesterday… By the way, Obama went out there and spoke, too.  Do you know he never used the words “terrorism” or “militant Islamist” or anything of the nature about what it was?  He just called it a “tragedy.” But the real fun began when the vice president stood up there.

Less than a minute into his speech, Vice President Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of survivors, “It was worth it.”  You want to hear?  It’s only 14 seconds.  We’re gonna have to replay this. I’m sure the shock here is such that we’ll have to play it a couple of times.

BIDEN:  Let me say, uh, to, uh, those, uh, quote, “survivors,” my God, you have survived, and you have soared.  It was worth… It was worth it!

AUDIENCE: (stunned silence)

My post at the Conversation:

Less than a minute into his speech at the Boston marathon bombing memorial on Tuesday, Vice President Joe Biden went tragically off script and told the crowd of Boston bombing survivors that “it was worth it.”

After expressing how impressed he was with the tribute, he said somberly, “let me say to those ‘quote survivors,’  my God, you have survived and you have soared. It was worth it. I mean this sincerely – just to hear each of you speak. You’re truly, truly inspiring.”

The audience sat in stunned silence until Biden declared, “I’ve never heard anything so beautiful than what all of you just said.”

He went on to describe how “the first responders” (aka the MSM) handled the gaffe, which was to ignore it entirely – something I had also noted in my post:

RUSH: He went on to say, “I mean this sincerely.  Just to hear each of you speak, you are truly, truly inspiring.  It was worth it.  I mean this sincerely.  Just to hear each of you, it was worth it,” to find out how good you were. It was worth it to find out how strong you are. It was worth it to find out how strong we are.  The audience, of course, sat there in stunned silence.

And after a moment of stunned silence, Biden then said, “I’ve never heard anything so beautiful than what all of you just said.”  They didn’t say anything.  “I’ve never heard anything more beautiful than what you’ve just said.”  Of course, the Democrats say, “That’s just Joe being Joe.  Ah, it was just Joe being Joe.”  Let Bush or Cheney show up at this thing and tell ‘em it was worth it and you see what would happen then.

RUSH:  It’s fascinating, by the way, to take a look here, folks, at how the left reacts. I call ‘em the left-wing first responders.  Whenever Biden steps in it or Obama or any Democrat makes a mess of things and causes an emergency, then you have the first responders (i.e., the Drive-By Media) come out and deal with the carnage and try to recast it.  In this case, the Regime’s first responder was the website, rushing to Biden’s defense.

Here’s what they said: “We, like most viewers of the speech, assumed Biden was (poorly) talking about coming to the event, rather than the bombings themselves. Despite getting flagged by a Fox News reporter, the quote didn’t even make it into the news channel’s write-up of the tribute. ” Of course not!  Of course.  That’s what the first responders do, is they keep it out of the news.  But we, ladies and gentlemen, found it.  We’re not gonna shield you from it.

So the Drive-By first responders’ emergency services personnel arrive on the scene, and clean up the mess that Biden makes. “Oh, no, he wasn’t talking about the bombing being worth it! No, no, no, no, no.  He was talking about it was worth it attending the event, that everybody in the audience attending the event was worth it.”  Okay.  Well, let’s listen again.  What is a “quote, ‘survivor,’” by the way?

Me, yesterday:

But of course, that was just Joe being Joe. The MSM knew exactly what the Vice President meant to say, and thus it wasn’t a story, today:

We, like most viewers of the speech, assumed Biden was (poorly) talking about coming to the event, rather than the bombings themselves. Despite getting flagged by a Fox News reporter, the quote didn’t even make it into the news channel’s write-up of the tribute.

No, of course it didn’t. Joe meant well. If a Republican had said something similarly stupid and awkward, though, he would have been crucified – because in the media’s eyes no Republican ever means well.

Democrats Are Telling Rush Limbaugh ‘Privately’ That They Would Love To Stop ObamaCare (Audio)

Image depicts Democrat whispering secret fears about ObamaCare into Rush’s cochlear implant.

Last week, the president said in an interview that Republicans tell him privately that they agree with him but they’re “scared” of Rush Limbaugh and the Tea Party…     (*Cough*BS*Cough*)

Well Rush had a little fun with that on his show, Monday afternoon. Apparently Democrats have been pouring their hearts out to him for years, privately sharing their utmost fears about the  impending ObamaCare disaster.

RUSH: Folks, let me tell you something. You know, privately there are a lot of Democrats that tell me that they are just distressed over what Obama has done to the health care industry and to jobs. They are afraid to say anything about it because of recriminations, because this regime fights back. I mean, this regime does not take internal criticism at all, just like they try to eliminate all conservative opposition.

Likewise, if anybody in the Democrat Party goes public with the slightest disagreement or problem with what Obama’s doing, it could be curtains for them, particularly if they are elected. I have a lot of Democrats privately telling me they would love to be able to stop Obamacare but that they know they don’t have the votes in the Senate, and I just want to get that out there. It’s not new. I mean, I’ve been hearing about this from Democrats for a couple of years now.

I’ve even had Democrats… I’m not kidding about this.  I’ve had Democrats tell me privately, they are worried long term about what’s happened to this party.  You know, I say to them, “Well, my perception is, your party’s set up for perpetual power.  I don’t know how you’re ever gonna get beat, because you’ve succeeded in convincing the Republicans to go after the same voters that you’re going after, and there’s no way they’re gonna get ‘em.

“You have convinced the Republicans to go after only the independents. You’ve convinced the Republicans never to criticize Democrats.  I mean, you’ve effectively neutered the Republicans and you’ve turned at least half this country into a dependency class and you’re about to get amnesty.  What do you mean you’re worried about your party?”  A number of them have said that what they fear is that at some point, the American people are gonna wake up and see it doesn’t work.

“They’re gonna wake up,” he said.

He says they’re worried that there is literally going to be shrinking prosperity, and when that happens — he doesn’t think this is any time soon, but when all that happens — there’s gonna be a big backlash against the Democrat Party. Because at some point, people are going to realize it doesn’t work, and what this guy’s really afraid of is once you take Obama out of the equation and can’t blame race and you don’t have this mythological, messianic-like figure — once you put your standard, ordinary, everyday average Democrat in there (even including Hillary) — then it’s all gonna come to a screeching halt.

Video via Daily Rushbo

Oh, not only that…Rush also says, Civil Rights Guys’ Tell Me Privately ‘Obama’s Not Down For the Struggle’.

RUSH: They’re not these never doubtful, always confident types, at least these guys that I know and speak with. These guys have privately told me that they worry about all these divisions in country because they don’t think anything good can come from all the chaos, just day-to-day life. Here’s more evidence of it. This is a story from Black Lawmakers Lament Flaring of Racial Tensions Under Obama.” You know this Martin Luther King anniversary speech that Obama’s gonna do on Wednesday?

I’ll tell you another truth: The civil rights guys are not that excited about this, because Obama’s not down for the struggle. He’s really not. He doesn’t come from the civil rights struggle. He doesn’t come from any of that. He has to fake that, and these guys… You’ll not see any evidence of this, obviously, but they’re a little bit uncomfortable about it. I mean, the number one, most powerful black man in America is not down to the struggle.

Rush: Obama’s “Charm Offensive” an Indication He’s in Trouble (Audio)

Anyone who’s getting tired of the term, “charm offensive” to describe Obama’s disingenuous attempts to “reach out” to Republicans would do well to remember the MSM’s long history of  coordinated messaging.

In a flashback to the 2000 election, Rush played a montage of media types speaking perfectly in synch with each other in their reactions to Presidential candidate, George W. Bush’s VP choice of Dick Cheney. “Gravitas” was the word of the day. Bush needed some, you see – because he was such a dolt.

So now, we’re all supposed to think that Obama is charming the Republicans: “Charm offensive… charm offensive… charm offensive…”

Who thinks Obama is charming? He’s the opposite of charming – he’s a malicious, hyper-ideological cold fish who wouldn’t compromise with his political enemies any more than he would compromise with a dung beetle. But Obama needs this narrative so he can come back in 2014 and say he reached out to the Republicans in a good faith effort to work with them, but they rejected his outstretched hand of friendship. Of course, Obama’s idea of compromise is “My way, or the highway” and the highway usually involves a lot of helpful media coordination. I suspect the buzzwords in 2014 will sound something like intransigent, inflexible, stubborn, or obstinate to describe the evil GOP hostage takers who wouldn’t compromise with His Highness. Not highly original, and a replay of past message coordination – but it’s all they’ve got.

As Rush notes, Obama is falling in the polls, he’s in some kind of trouble, so  “here we are in the middle of March, and he already needs a charm offensive?  His political capital is largely gone?”

That’s what happens when your demagoguery is so over the top, it’s laughable, your dastardly scheme to blame Republicans for sequester cuts you are making as painful as possible is painfully obvious to anyone remotely paying attention, and your DHS starts releasing dangerous illegal immigrant criminals by the thousands. Hey, we’re only in mid-March and the Obama administration is already embroiled in several new scandals. No wonder he needs a “charm offensive.”

video via The Daily Rushbo

It’s only due to his loyal toadies in the media that his numbers are as high as they are.

And yet, some members of the media have had it with the BS. Ron Fournier of National Journal appears to be one of them because he’s been on a roll in recent weeks, reporting all sorts of inconvenient stories that don’t line up at all with the proper media narrative.

According to Ron Fournier of National Journal an anonymous White House official told reporters that Obama’s so-called “charm offensive” is a “joke,” a waste of everyone’s time, and basically a stunt for the media. The  official made the comments after being promised anonymity.

Via The Weekly Standard:

“This is a joke. We’re wasting the president’s time and ours,” complained a senior White House official who was promised anonymity so he could speak frankly. “I hope you all (in the media) are happy because we’re doing it for you.”

(I don’t think they were supposed to report that.)

RUSH on Illegal Immigrant Prison Release: Obama Employing Tactics Used By Ceaușescu, Saddam Hussein, and Fidel Castro (Audio)

Obama is trying to separate himself from any of this latest scandal involving the release of illegal immigrant criminals from prison – he had nothing to do with it, you see, nor did Janet Napolitano. It was a rogue underling at Homeland Security.

Newsmax reported:

Arizona officials — from the statehouse to Capitol Hill — were outraged on Tuesday at the Obama administration’s release of hundreds of illegal immigrants held in local jails to save money as huge budget cuts loom.

“I’m appalled to learn the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has begun to release hundreds of illegal aliens from custody, the first of potentially thousands to soon be freed under the guise of federal budget cuts,” said Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, who has long battled the White House on immigration matters. “This is pure political posturing and the height of absurdity, given that the releases are being granted before the federal sequestration cuts have even gone into effect.”

In Pinal County, about 70 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, Sheriff Paul Babeu told Newsmax that the release of hundreds of detainees over the weekend was “outrageous and unacceptable because there’s a direct and immediate impact to public safety of families in my county.”

“These are criminal illegals,” Babeu said. “They were headed for deportation — but now, they have received a budget pardon.”

Arizona Sen. John McCain told Newsmax, “We’re very concerned about this.”

Via Stand With Arizona:

A spokeswoman for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, an arm of the Department of Homeland Security, said the thousands of detainees selected for release over the past week – among an estimated 8,000 – 10,000 scheduled for release – were “noncriminals and other low-risk offenders who do not have serious criminal histories.”

This is a blatant lie. The aliens released by DHS are criminals, who will put families and communities at greater risk from coast-to-coast.

According to Jessica Vaughan of CIS, here are some categories of detainees who were released from ICE detention over the last week:

  • Aliens convicted of drug offenses, theft, identity theft, forgery, and simple assault;
  • Aliens who were arrested and charged with local crimes, but turned over to ICE for deportation in lieu of prosecution;
  • Aliens who were bonded out on local criminal charges and were placed in ICE custody as a result of a detainer (typically a public safety or flight risk); under new ICE detention priority purposes, these are “non-mandatory, non-criminal detainees”, because aliens are not considered to be dangerous or criminal until they have been convicted;
  • Repeat immigration offenders (despite ICE leadership claims that these are “enforcement priorities”); and
  • Recent border crossers (also supposedly an “enforcement priority”).

And DHS just released “thousands” of them, including 500 in a single weekend in a single Arizona countywithout even informing the Sheriff.

On his show, Wednesday, Rush Limbaugh was incredulous that the Regime is getting away with yet another horrifying scandal.

Via The Daily Rushbo

— The Associated Press has learned that the Homeland Security Department official in charge of the agency’s immigration enforcement and removal operations has resigned after hundreds of illegal immigrants were released from jails because of government spending cuts.

In an email obtained Wednesday by the AP, Gary Mead told coworkers that he was leaving U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement at the end of April. Mead is the head of enforcement and removal operations at ICE.

Mead had told co-workers of his resignation in the email sent Tuesday, hours after U.S. officials had confirmed that a few hundred illegal immigrants facing deportation had been released from immigration jails due to budget cuts.

President Barack Obama’s spokesman said Wednesday the White House was never consulted but described the immigrants as “low-risk, non-criminal detainees.”

Gary Mead would be a good person for an aspiring journalist to talk to, wouldn’t he?

Rush Limbaugh: Obama’s At ‘Max Damage Potential’ Right Now (Video)

In case you missed Rush, today – he was on a roll. I managed to find a station while I  was on the road today, and heard this monologue in the car, (after searching for what seemed an eternity for a talk station.)

As you can imagine, my ears perked up when I heard this – I know it’s what a lot of us are feeling in our guts, and we feel powerless to stop it:

“Obama is at max damage potential right now”, Rush asserted, “he can inflict the maximum damage possible for the purpose of transforming the country from capitalism to….Western European Socialism. He’s got two years to double down, triple down, max out on it. And that’s if he cares about the 2014 mid terms, but if you listen to the Democrats talk, they don’t care about that…”

The Daily Caller: Hume: Boehner not a ‘weak negotiator’ on the fiscal cliff, but ‘got a weak hand’ [VIDEO]:

“If you have an ounce of compassion this Christmas season, save it for John Boehner and the House Republicans,” Hume said. “President Obama is treating them as if he has them over a barrel headed for the fiscal cliff — and he does. This is not because Mr. Obama won re-election. After all, he won 51 percent, and needed the greatest voter mobilization operation in history to do it.”

“His leverage now stems from the law, which ends the Bush tax rates on January 1, imposing new higher tax rate and a steep set of spending cuts that fall with special force on military,” Hume explained. “Nobody wants these things, but Republicans, the low tax and strong defense party, want them least of all. Not only that, but polls indicate that if these things come to pass, the public by large margin will blame the GOP.”

Is it safe to say that we’re in a full-blown depression now? I think so.

Gallup’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 8.3% for November, up nearly one percentage-point over October’s rate. Gallup’s underemployment jumped from 15.9% to 17.2%

Gateway Pundit: Since His First Day in Office Barack Obama Has Hired 101 New Federal Employees on Average Each Day:

Federal Workers Make Twice As Much As the Private Sector

Since Barack Hussein Obama took the oath of office in January 2009 he has created on average 101 new federal employees each day.
Andrew Malcolm at Investor’s Business Daily reported:

You may have noticed some economic difficulties across the country in recent years among family, friends, neighbors, colleagues. One sector is doing quite nicely, however, under Barack Hussein Obama.

In the 1,420 days since he took the oath of office, the federal government has daily hired on average 101 new employees. Every day. Seven days a week. All 202 weeks. That makes 143,000 more federal workers than when Obama talked forever on that cold day in January of 2009.

Weasel Zippers: Liar-In-Chief Slams Michigan’s Right-To-Work Law During Fiscal Cliff Speech…

Jaw-dropping lie alert: Obama tells workers right-to-work laws “take away your rights to bargain for better wages,” in reality it stops workers from being forced to join a union as a condition of employment. Nothing in those laws relates to collective bargaining. So he’s either grossly misinformed or lying his ass off.

Cindy Simpson, The American Thinker: Who Goes Obama?

In the Obama playbook, “segmenting the market” essentially meant “community organizing.” Although modern liberal philosophy is grounded in collectivism, progressives effectively mass their troops using division and agitation. The trick is maintaining voluntary cohesion and support, in a failing economy or security threats or disasters, among the various personalities in the parlor. (For example, imagine a dinner-party-scene where the Obama-phone lady was suddenly aware that Obama-money had run out, and she was seated next to Will Smith when he just heard he would be hit with a 75% tax rate.) But camaraderie is never the ultimate goal of the host and his fellow bureaucrats at their utopian party anyway — their intent is to create and forcefully implement one-size-fits-all collectivist policies for their guests.

Divisive conversation on “Fairness” and motivational phrases such as “We can’t wait,” “Vote for revenge,” “You didn’t build that,” and “Punish your enemies” were addressed to those in the parlor whom the campaign already knew would answer “I do” to the question, “Who goes Obama?” A helpful mainstream media provided the venue, orchestrated the background music, and perfectly coordinated entertaining distractions.

However, there’s much more at stake in political parlor games than simply formulating targeted marketing strategies. Ms. Thompson endeavored to ask not just who, but beyond and to the more important question: Why? What was it that made some people, at a deeper level, more susceptible to the allure of such an ideology? She answered:

Their race, color, creed, or social condition is not the criterion. It is something in them.

Thompson explained her conclusion further:

Sometimes I think there are direct biological factors at work — a type of education, feeding, and physical training which has produced a new kind of human being with an imbalance in his nature. He has been fed vitamins and filled with energies that are beyond the capacity of his intellect to discipline. He has been treated to forms of education which have released him from inhibitions. His body is vigorous. His mind is childish. His soul has been almost completely neglected.

Those chilling words were written decades ago, yet they seem to describe much of today’s society. For a real jolt, reread Thompson’s article, replacing Nazi wherever it appears with “Obama-supporter.” Besides being a very politically incorrect exercise, the uncomfortable parallels are inescapable: both statist ideologies, besides being led by riveting personalities, seem to appeal to childish minds — many of them highly educated — whose souls have been neglected.

Gateway Pundit: Mission Accomplished: Report Suggests the U.S. Will Be Out as Sole Superpower by 2030:

A new report suggests the United States will no longer be the sole world superpower by 2030.
Isn’t this what the left always wanted?
The Politico reported:

A new report by the intelligence community projects that the United States will no longer be the world’s only superpower by 2030.

“In terms of the indices of overall power – GDP, population size, military spending and technological investment – Asia will surpass North America and Europe combined,” the report concludes.

“Global Trends 2030: Alternative Worlds” — prepared by the office of the National Intelligence Council of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence — projects that the “unipolar” world that emerged after the fall of the Soviet Union will not continue.

Obama Scandals Heat Up as Election Day Looms

I would love to be a fly on the wall of the Obama White House as increasingly, mainstream media outlets (other than “Faux” News) cover stories that are (let us say) *unhelpful* to his reelection. There are almost certainly behind closed doors screaming fits, and lamps flying while President Creature Comforts and Commander of Me-Time kicks back in Las Vegas.

President Barack Obama arrived in Nevada last night to begin three days of debate preparation at the Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort, a luxurious golf community just a few miles from the Las Vegas strip.

Cool as a cucumber, I’m sure, and kept away from unpleasantness like this:

CNN: None Of Our Sources Corroborate Obama Admin’s False Libya Story:

While the Obama regime was using bogus talking points about an out of control mob upset over an internet video,   CNN’s  sources weren’t corroborating any of it. Where was the regime getting its “information”? Did they really think they would get away with such an outrageous coverup so close to an election?

Has the FBI set foot in Benghazi, yet? Apparently not, and Rush thinks he knows why: Rush: Obama Keeps FBI Out Of Benghazi Because ‘The FBI Will Not Lie About What They Find’

Seriously, is this the sort of thing an administration wants just a month before an election? Breaking: House Oversight Committee Will Hold Hearing on Benghazi Attack and Likely Cover-Up (Video)

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform announced tonight that they will be holding a hearing on the Benghazi attack and cover-up.
A letter will be sent to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday. The hearing will focus on the previous attacks in Benghazi leading up to the consulate attack on 9-11.

Mark your calendars, the hearing is set for October 10.

A good question to ask at the hearing:  Did White House arm al-Qaida operatives who killed U.S. ambassador?

Almost entirely missing from the debate surrounding the anti-U.S. attacks in Libya is the administration’s policy of arming jihadists to overthrow Mideast governments. But in the case of Libya, the arming of jihadists may have directly resulted in the Sept. 11, 2012, attacks against the U.S. consulate in Benghazi and the subsequent murder of Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Foreign Service Information Management Officer Sean Smith, private security employees and former U.S. Navy SEALs Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods.

After changing its story multiple times, the White House finally conceded the deadly assault on the U.S. consulate was a planned attack linked to al-Qaida, as per information released by national intelligence agencies.

The admission prompted Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., to call for the resignation of U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice for pushing the narrative that the attacks were part of a spontaneous uprising.

King may instead want to focus his investigative energies on the larger story: How the Obama administration armed Libyan rebels who were known to include al-Qaida and other anti-Western jihadists, and how the White House is currently continuing that same policy in Syria.

During the revolution against Muammar Gadhafi’s regime, the U.S. admitted to directly arming the rebel groups.

At the time, rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi boasted in an interview that a significant number of the Libyan rebels were al-Qaida gunmen, many of whom had fought U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

This was no secret. The American Spectator reported in March, 2011:

White House sources confirm that in the run up to the decision to involve U.S. military personnel, President Obama was fully briefed that a large portion of the Libyan rebel forces most active in areas around such critical cities as Benghazi had ties to al Qaeda, particularly Al Qaeda in Iraq, the wing of the terrorist group that killed hundreds of U.S. troops in Iraq.

“He was warned that should we reach a point where NATO needs to re-arm the rebels — it appears that time is coming now — we will be arming the very enemy that we have been fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan,” says a career employee at the State Department. “Secretary Clinton knows it, the White House knows it, but we’re working with these thugs anyway because the President thinks it’s the moral thing to do in the face of Gaddafi.”

Someone should ask President Eye Candy if it still feels like “the moral thing to do” in the aftermath of the Benghazi attack.

Then on the Government gunrunning front, there’s  Univision’s Fast and Furious Blockbuster report as described by Doug Ross: MEXICAN STREETS RUN RED WITH THE BLOOD OF CHILDREN: Holder Lies to Congress; Obama Covers Up; U.S. Media Ignores the Slaughter

Thanks to the Spanish language network Univision, we now have a more complete picture of Operation Fast and Furious, the ill-fated gun-running operation orchestrated by Attorney General Eric Holder. The A.G., of course, was found in Contempt of Congress for stonewalling a House of Representatives investigation. And President Obama claimed “executive privilege” as an obvious attempt to cover up Holder’s culpability.

In the mean time, Mexico’s government has put Holder’s death toll at over 200 dead, not to mention U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, who was killed by Mexican drug smugglers armed by Holder’s Justice Department.

See if you can get through this entire Daily Caller piece without breaking into angry tears: Univision uncovers more deadly, heart-wrenching Fast and Furious details

What had happened was Jose Antonio Acosta Hernandez, or “El Diego,” the onetime leader of the Juarez Cartel’s La Linea, sent his team to the birthday party to kill what he thought were members of the rival Sinaloa Cartel.

La Linea is the “enforcement arm” of the Juarez Cartel. According to the El Paso Times, El Diego told Mexican authorities after his capture that La Linea’s mission was, among other things, to “eliminate the members of the Sinaloa cartel in Ciudad Juárez.”

“Regarding the party in Villas de Salvarcar, I was informed that there were some who belonged to the Sinaloa Cartel,” El Diego said in police interrogation videos. “I send the boys, and when they are there, they tell me that they have already located them, and so the order to start working is given.”

When El Diego gave the order, Univision said “seven vans blocked the streets so that nearly 20 hitmen from the Juarez Cartel could unleash the bloodshed with R15 rifles and 9mm pistols.”

“What no one in Mexico ever knew was that some of the weapons used in this massacre were part of a secret gun tracing operation ran by the ATF, according to this exclusive document obtained by Univision News,” Univision reported.

That document was a Mexican Army document that stated, according to Univision: “[t]hree of the high caliber weapons fired that night in Villas de Salvarcar were linked to a gun tracing operation run by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).” That operation was Fast and Furious.

An onlooker who went solely by “Gloria” told Univision, “It looked like a war. A war where one only side was shooting.”

Luz Davila and her husband then “rushed down the street,” Univision said, to find out what happened. “Everything went dark,” Davila said. “I could only say that it wasn’t possible.”

“I went inside the house and the first thing I see is the older one, he was face down,” Luz Davila said. “And right ahead was the younger one. He was still alive.”

Both ended up dying. Univision said one of Luz’s sons died on scene and the other died 14 hours later at the hospital.

I’ll stop there – the next line is kinda hard to take…

Not the sort of story the regime wants coming out a month before election day, right?
And again, some in the MSM are not buying Obama’s spin on ‘Fast and Furious’:

…Obama appeared on a Univision program Thursday night and faced tough questions over Fast and Furious, which reportedly led to many deaths in Mexico, and not just the killing of U.S. Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. He defended the refusal to give Congress relevant documents by describing them as “internal communications that were not related to the actual Fast and Furious operation.”

As Horowitz’s comments make clear, this is dishonest spin. On Fast and Furious, the president has zero credibility.

Finally, more unpleasantness for Obama festers while he preps for his debate, as reported by The Hill, Monday: Sen. Graham: Obama move on defense layoff notices ‘patently illegal’:

Graham and other Republicans were livid after the Obama administration issued the guidance on Friday telling contractors that their legal costs would be covered due to canceled contracts under sequestration, but only if they did not issue layoff notices before sequestration occurs — and before the November election.

“I will do everything in my power to make sure not one taxpayer dollar is spent reimbursing companies for failure to comply with WARN Act,” Graham told The Hill in a phone interview Monday. “That is so beyond the pale — I think it’s patently illegal.”

Gee, ya think, Senator?

So there are several major scandals bubbling up as the Preezy of the United Skeezy prepares for his big debate, which apparently everyone (including he himself) expects him to lose.

Is Obama good on defense? Is he easily rattled? Because I hear Romney has some zingers planned.

Oh. My. GOD:

Breaking on Fox News this morning: BORDER PATROL AGENT SHOT, KILLED IN AZ

“Early this morning Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents assigned to the Brian Terry Station were involved in a shooting near Naco, Ariz. Preliminary reports indicate one agent has died from his injuries and another sustained non-life threatening wounds. The injured agent has been airlifted to the hospital. Names are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. More updates will follow as appropriate. The incident investigation is being led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.”

Possibly with Fast and Furious guns???

Another scandal breaking this week: IG: VA wasted hundreds of thousands on extravagant conferences:

WASHINGTON — Investigators looking into lavish spending for a pair of Veterans Affairs training conferences in 2011 found evidence that department employees improperly accepted gifts, wasted hundreds of thousands on unneeded expenses and exhibited “serious management weaknesses” in handling taxpayer dollars.

The investigation report released Monday by the VA Inspector General’s office also says that the department’s top human resources official, Assistant Secretary for Human Resources and Administration John Sepulveda, “failed to provide proper guidance and oversight to his senior executives” and lied to investigators about details of the conference.

Sepulveda resigned on Sunday, a VA spokesman confirmed. He had served in that position since May 2009, as the department’s top advisor on administrative and employee management issues.

VA officials released a statement saying “misuse of taxpayer dollars is completely unacceptable” and calling the actions cited in the report “serious lapses in oversight, judgment, and stewardship.”

Obama: “We Tried Our Plan and it Worked” Rush: “He Just Admitted His Plan Was To Destroy The Economy”

Rush Limbaugh  has long maintained that Obama is in the process of destroying the economy on purpose. He went out on that limb early in 2009, before most conservative pundits were willing to go there.

Last Spring, after over three years of Obamanomics, Limbaugh said:

Eight hundred billion that they want you to think that’s coming from someplace but it’s gonna end up in the private sector, but where did they get the $800 billion?  They got it from the exact place they’re putting it.  There was no stimulus, by definition, in mathematics, whatever.  The $800 billion that Obama supposedly injected in the private sector had to be taken from the private sector first.  It was a wash, a net zero.  There was no new money.  All there was was redistribution of money.  One of the biggest scams ever run.  Everybody that’s not aware of this, “Wow, man, this is good,” but notice that it didn’t work.  All these economic forecasts for economic growth, wrong by half, wrong by factors of two, it didn’t work.  It couldn’t work.  It never had a chance to work because it’s impossible.  It was word games.  And so we end up with the economy growing in 2011 at 1.7%, after forecasting 4.5%.  Look at the ChiCom economy.  The Mexican economy is growing at about 4%, folks.

And the economic picture looks bleaker for this country, every day.

In spite of this, Monday night in Oakland, Obama told his audience, “Just like we’ve tried their plan, we’ve tried our plan and it worked!”

It worked?

Rush wants to know if Obama really believes that, because if he does,  hes admitting that  his plan was to destroy the economy. The only other possibility Rush could come up with was that  he must believe his crowd is so stupid that they will believe anything – something I’ve addressed here, before. Clearly, Obama has no respect for his audiences, or he wouldn’t constantly lie to their their faces.

Rush to Jay Carney: If Your Guy Stopped It, Why Not Release The Documents That Show Fast and Furious is Bush’s Fault? (Video)

This awesome rant by Rush Limbaugh responding to Jay Carney’s comments, earlier today, regarding Fast and Furious, was  captured by Duane Lester, All American Blogger:

“Everything line of that is bogus!” Rush fumed,”…why not just release these documents that show that it’s Bush’s fault?”

“If you stopped Fast and Furious, you might want to call Brian Terry’s family and tell them that you stopped it – the dead border Patrol….You call them up, Jay - Holder called them after he had been  SHAMED into doing it…But you call them, Jay, and you tell them that fast and furious was brought to a screeching halt by this administration, you tell them that Bush did it, and then release the documents – sounds like you got a win-win, here, Jay…you release the documents, we see  that Bush did it all, then everybody on your team is off the hook. So why is there executive privilege, Jay? What are you hiding?

Speaker Boehner also spoke a few words today on behalf of the Terry family: Terry Family Deserves Answers on ‘Fast & Furious’

“Our son lost his life protecting this nation and it’s very disappointing that we are now faced with an administration that seems more concerned with protecting themselves rather than revealing the truth behind operation ‘Fast and Furious.’” – Statement from the Family of Border Agent Brian Terry

Speaker John Boehner read the above statement from the family of Brian Terry when asked by a reporter about the “Fast and Furious” investigation. Terry was a Marine veteran and US Border Patrol agent who was murdered while on patrol near Rio Rico, AZ in 2010. According to the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, two “Fast and Furious” guns were recovered at the murder scene.

At the Right Scoop: Fantastic monologue from Rush Limbaugh: ‘Obama the Great’

Audio: Rush’s Comments on the 7 N.A.G.s Who Showed Up at anti-Rush Protest

On his show, today, Rush was incredulous of the complete lack of logic used by the head NAG, Erin Matson -

Going after women, going after people of color, going after gay people, whatever. So then The Daily Caller asked: “Did you happen to see his new Facebook page he launched as a direct response to your campaign, the Rush Babes for America? I believe he termed it ‘The National Organization of Rush Babes.’ I’m a wondering if you had any thoughts on that, and the 60-plus thousand women who have signed it.”

MATSON: Of course, Rush wants to make this all about him. Honestly, this is about our community and what’s decent speech and really standing up for good treatment of women. And so… So… I… I’m not gonna fall into his trap of: Let’s make this all about me. It’s not about him. The era of his brand of thinking is over, and we’re moving on.

RUSH: See, I’m minding my own business. They announce a protest of me. They announce their objective is to get me thrown off of the air. They announce that they have got to get rid of me. And somehow I am making it “all about me.” (interruption) Well, in their world, I guess it is logic that somehow I am making this “all about me.” But what am I protesting? They are protesting me, and I’m making this about me? How does that work?

Obama L-O-S-I-N-G Contraception Mandate Debate

Back on January 31, I asked, “why is the Obama administration picking a fight with the Catholic church during an election year?” For them to wage a public battle with the Bishops, now – when he needs all the Catholic voters he can get, just seemed insane.

But that was before the Obama camp began their full court press strategy of steering the debate away from a religious freedom issue to a women’s rights issue.  They accused the hapless GOP of  waging a war on women with an assist from feminist plant, Sandra Fluke. Rush Limbaugh unintentionally aided and abetted  the faux narrative when he used rhetoric more characteristic of left-wing commentators to describe the 31 year old reproductive rights activist.

What happened next was predictable. The institutional left erupted in spasms of  sputtering faux outrage and numerous craven sponsors left the Rush Limbaugh Show. Rush apologized for sinking to the level of discourse that he did, and the Stalinist left, smelling blood in the water,  didn’t accept his apology, and instead opted to ramp up the pressure on his sponsors.

As should be obvious, this is not really a reaction to a bad word, or the left would be spending more of its time policing its own side. It’s simply an excuse to  continue their jihad against talk radio, because that is the only place where conservative speech dominates.

The Obama war room probably thought they were going to kill two birds with one stone — flip the contraception narrative from their toxic war on religion to a phony GOP war on women and drum Rush off the air, once and for all. The White House’s contraception narrative had been forming since early January, after all – before anyone knew why it was an even an issue. The Rush thing was just an added bonus.

Unfortunately for Obama and his minions, though, conservatives were on to their Alinsky tactics, and rallied around Rush. We brought up example after example of lefty commentators saying worse things about conservative women. We brought up the million dollar misogynist, Bill Maher, and wondered why Obama’s PAC  would accept the tainted money of one of the biggest creeps  on the air. We exposed the left’s flaming hypocrisy and threw their words back in their stupid simpering faces. We put them on the defensive. The latest fallout: David Axelrod bails out of Bill Maher appearance.

And we’re not through. Since the left wants to play this game, we’re happy to oblige. Because when it comes to unhinged, ugly, demented, hateful and insane rhetoric – the right cannot begin to compete with the left. .

Take Al Sharpton. Back in the day – before he had teleprompters to help him to say “resist we much”, Al had some pretty — exotic things to say about all sorts of people.

As Big Journalism’s John Nolte will tell you:

Breaking today at the American Spectator is more bad news for a network devoting so much of its airtime to creating a rule that says someone should be pulled off the air for anything he or she has said that might be considered offensive.

Using MSNBC’s own standards, should the man who once said the following be allowed to hold a primetime MSNBC slot?

David Dinkins, you wanna be the only nigger on television, only nigger in the newspaper, only nigger that can talk. Don’t cover them, don’t talk to them, ’cause you got the only nigger problem. ‘Cause you know if a black man stood up next to you, they would see you for the whore that you really are.

That’s MSNBC’s Al Sharpton–many years ago, but just as shocking today. I can already hear the excuse — that it’s okay for him to use the N-word because he’s black. But I wonder what CNN’s Roland Martin will think of this:

White folks was in the cave when we were building empires. We learned to admire them, but they knew to admire us. We built pyramids without a ____, ____ new architecture ____. We talked philosophy and astrology and mathematics before Socrates and them Greek homos ever got around to it.

“Greek homos.”

Just a few weeks ago, Roland Martin was suspended from CNN after GLAAD took offense to a few Super Bowl tweets few but GLAAD could ever find offensive — tweets that never even broached the subject of homosexuality.

“Homo,” of course is an anti-gay slur, especially within the context you hear in Sharpton’s words.

But that’s not all! How about a side order of “Chinaman” to go with that “homo”:

You the best chicken ____ in the universe. Gonna buy some Colonel Sanders chicken. Then the Chinaman come in and throw some hot ___ [cough] ___. Then the Korean sells us watermelon.  ___ watermelon all my life. They’re gonna cut it up and put it in a bucket with a rubber band around it, and then we’re gonna buy it like it’s somethin we didn’t know what it was.

And finally we have this:

“___ uh, white interloper I said I was wrong. uh, uh, cracker, though I think cracker is a certain personification of a certain type of person down south, just like redneck. I mean, you know some people misinterpret cracker meaning all whites, it’s not true. But the confusion means you shouldn’t use it. I mean, sometimes being flippant you say things you shouldn’t say, cause it gets in the way of your message and people  don’t really understand what you’re saying.”

“White interloper.” I don’t even know what that means, but “cracker” is a slur against white Southerners — end of story.

See Breitbart TV for video: UNCOVERED: NBC News Star Sharpton’s Racial, Homophobic Rants.

As Nolte notes, MSNBC President Phil Griffin added Sharpton to the MSNBC lineup, knowing that he said this sort of stuff regularly. But as MSNBC is the  media arm of the Obama White House, Sharpton’s main role at the network is to deploy the race card in promiscuous fashion as an election year racialist tactic to shore up the white guilt vote..  And he’s been doing just that. He wasn’t meant to be a liability.

So you might wonder – how does all this look to the average Joe?

Today, Obama sits at 41% in opinion polls — his lowest approval rating ever. Part of this poll collapse most certainly has to do with a stagnant economy and gas prices, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that Obama has started a stupid war against a nonexistent war on women (which is really Obama’s war against the Catholic Church and religious liberty), and the fact that he has once again been found hanging out with another divisive, radical racialist.

But surely most people agree with Obama on contraception?

Sure enough, when asked, “Should health insurance plans for all employees have to cover the full cost of birth control for female employees or should employers be able to opt out for moral or religious reasons?” women favored opting out by a 46-44 margin. The margin increased to a decisive 53-38  for “religiously affiliated employers, such as a hospital or university.”

That’s among women. Unbeknownst to those who read only the Times‘ main story, the poll asked the same question to men. They were not split. Men favored opting out by a 20 point margin (57 vs. 37), except when a “religiously affiliated employer” was involved, in which case the margin increased to 25 points. Combining men and women, a substantial majority (51-40) favors allowing an opt-out–increasing to 57-36 where religiously-affiliated institutions are involved.

These are not close results. It’s hard to read this poll and not conclude that, contrary to some accounts, Obama wasn’t such a genius to pick a fight over mandated contraception coverage–because he appears to be losing the public debate on the question.

Rick Santorum is being painted as right wing extremist who is obsessed with social issues and wants to take away a woman’s right to contraception. How’s that working out?

Pollster Evolving Strategies conducted a sophisticated poll they call a “message experiment,” and found “Santorum does not do worse with women than he does with men” and that “Santorum doesn’t appear to be seriously harmed by social issues, however there is evidence that he is harmed by a lack of focus on economic issues.”

Here’s the heart of it:

When we look to the data, we see that being socially conservative or liberal has a significant impact on a respondent’s vote, but men and women are fairly similar, with women a bit less conservative overall.

Furthermore, there is no significant interaction between being socially conservative or liberal and the Santorum treatment. In other words, there does not seem to be a significant backlash against Santorum in response to his social policy views.

In light of all this, Andrew Breitbart, (who continues to inspire us even after his death)  has a special message for the Obama White House:

*Groan* Late-Comers Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem, and Gloria Allred Seek To Hush Rush

In an opinion piece at CNN, Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem and Robin Morgan are arguing that Rush Limbaugh should be taken off the air… for the unpardonable sin of saying bad words about a left-wing female:

Limbaugh doesn’t just call people names. He promotes language that deliberately dehumanizes his targets. Like the sophisticated propagandist Josef Goebbels, he creates rhetorical frames — and the bigger the lie the more effective — inciting listeners to view people they disagree with as sub-humans. His longtime favorite term for women, “femi-nazi,” doesn’t even raise eyebrows anymore, an example of how rhetoric spreads when unchallenged by coarsened cultural norms.

At least this most recent incident has turned a spotlight back on the vile, damaging statements Limbaugh has been promulgating for years. His sponsors are dropping him; his stations have begun to follow suit. VoteVets, a coalition of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, released a statement by female vets, including Katherine Scheirman, former chief of medical operations in the U.S. Air Forces, demanding that the American Forces Network drop Limbaugh from its programming.

They state, “Our entire military depends on troops respecting each other — women and men. There simply can be no place on military airwaves for sentiments that would undermine that respect.”

That makes this a fitting time to inquire of his syndicator, Clear Channel Communications, whether it intends to continue supporting someone who addicts his audience to regular doses of hate speech. Clear Channel’s Premiere Radio Networks Inc., which hosts Limbaugh’s program, has defended his recent comments.

If Clear Channel won’t clean up its airways, then surely it’s time for the public to ask the FCC a basic question: Are the stations carrying Limbaugh’s show in fact using their licenses “in the public interest?”

Spectrum is a scarce government resource. Radio broadcasters are obligated to act in the public interest and serve their respective communities of license. In keeping with this obligation, individual radio listeners may complain to the FCC that Limbaugh’s radio station (and those syndicating his show) are not acting in the public interest or serving their respective communities of license by permitting such dehumanizing speech.

I love how they object to being called “feminazis” while in the process of trying to drum someone off the air because he engages in speech they don’t like…

Psssst….Hey ladies! Got somethin’ to show ya:

Because of the left’s blatant double standard and rank hypocrisy, many of the slings and arrows meant for Rush have riccocheted back and hit them in the butt….

Witness Hanoi Jane, who as Gateway Pundit notes, gave one of her most talked about interviews ever with noted misogynist Bill Maher.

Doesn’t that just make her look like a hypocritical and foolish old hack? Yes, I believe it does.

And then there’s that waaambulance chaser,  Gloria Allred targeting Rush Limbaugh in her latest publicity-seeking campaign…

Allred, whose clientele seems to only include women famous for sensational sexual situations, wants to prosecute Limbaugh for asking his audience what one would call a woman who seeks money for sex: “you’d call that a slut, right?”

She wants to prosecute Limbaugh because what he said was so shocking and hurtful and inflammatory – etc.

It should be noted that Gloria Allred had no problem appearing on MSNBC with the left’s premiere misogynist, Keith Olbermann even though he constantly says offensive things about conservative woman – especially his violent verbal attack on Michelle Malkinwho he described as a “mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it.”

The flaming hypocrisy  - it burns…. it burns so bad even some liberals are objecting.

It’s for that reason, the left is losing this propaganda war.

Dr. Christopher Flappitydo, from the Institute for Diversity & Tolerance & Multiculturalism & Compassion & Inclusiveness joins the NAGs feminazis harpies outspoken feminists in their quest to thwart ugly, mean, dehumanizing speech: Right-Wing Bastards Need to Be Silenced for Hate Speech:

A recent spate of offensive hate speech spewed forth by right wing-pontificators has led to a never-ending litany of over-the-top racist, sexist, homophobic language. And it is high-time that moderate progressives do something about it.

The Koch brother-funded tea party terrorists behind the latest reactionary veer towards incivility have jettisoned the “new tone,” as decreed after Sarah Palin caused the tragic Gabby Giffords shooting.

We are fast approaching the situation when right-wing violence could explode at any time, all because a few conservative pundits have gone on a media shooting spree at our brave progressives fighting for the public good.

Here is what happened, for those who missed out on our “Rush to Silence” campaign:

  • The president suffered a painful “vetting” of his past, including facing uncomfortable questions about his college background and his association with so-called “radicals.”
  • A courageous young woman was subjected to a media witch hunt and was rhetorically set on fire – all for bringing to our attention the dire need for America’s youth to have access to free condoms.
  • Rush Limbaugh heatedly denied our allegations that he has a gay lover, which we found bigoted against homosexuals.

Keep reading. Dr. Flappitydo is just getting warmed up.

Newsbusters: Charles Krauthammer Schools Nina Totenberg on Romney Not Denouncing Limbaugh

The ricochet effect gets Totenberg – ZING! – right in the face:

NINA TOTENBERG, NPR: You have to take a risk when you are running for president, and the risk that he did not take this week that he should have taken was to say something less than complimentary about Rush Limbaugh. It was a perfect opportunity for what is called in the political profession a Sister Souljah moment, to say that “I don’t always play it safe, I have real values, you went over the line.” And to make the optics worse, Bain Capital owns Clear Channel, which is the Rush network so to speak. Not that, he’s no longer an active partner of Bain, but the optics of it aren’t great.

Yes indeed – gosh – those optics! *Sigh*

CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER: Look, I’m sure that’s a liberal’s dream, but when the President of the United States apologizes for what Bill Maher has said about women and receives a million dollars of his for…

TOTENBERG: I didn’t say he should apologize.

But he absolutely should say something “less than complimentary” because – because –ah – ummm -

KRAUTHAMMER: …for his, or even acknowledge or talk about it, when Obama speaks about Maher’s misogyny as he takes a million dollars for his campaign, then I’d expect Romney to denounce somebody else. But the hypocrisy on the left about this is just…

KRAUTHAMMER: About Rush Limbaugh as if he’s the spokesman of the Republican Party, and as if misogyny is exclusively the province of conservatives and Republicans. It is out there all the time with Maher, with Chris Matthews, and with this guy is it CK Louis, or Louis CK who’s going to be the emcee at the Congressional Correspondents’ dinner? And so when I hear a denunciation on the left I’ll expect one on the right

Video at link.

It keeps happening -  those inconvenient facts keep coming out, making feminists look like the hypocritical tools they are.

Turns out the optics “about this” are not exactly what the Institutional left were bargaining for.

Obvious Question: If Obama Is So Concerned About Civility, Why Did He Accept Bill Maher’s $1 Million Donation?

ABC “fact-checked” the Obama press conference, today -

President Obama ducked a question on whether liberal commentators are just as insulting as Rush Limbaugh has been toward Sandra Fluke.

Obama was asked at his press conference today about sponsors pulling out of Limbaugh’s show and liberals in the media who provoke people (Obama super PAC donor Bill Maher comes to mind) with similar statements. Limbaugh called Fluke, a Georgetown law student who testified to Congress about contraception, a “slut” and a “prostitute” on his show and has repeatedly insulted her.

Obama said he wouldn’t comment on the sponsors jumping ship, and that “I don’t know what’s in Rush Limbaugh’s heart, so I’m not going to comment on the sincerity of his apology.” He also ignored the part of the question on liberal commentators.

What he did do was talk about his call to Fluke.

“The reason I called Miss Fluke is because I thought about Malia and Sasha, and one of the things I want them to do and one of the things I want them to do as they get older is engage in issues,” he said. “I don’t want them attacked or called horrible names because they’re being good citizens, and I wanted Sandra to know that — that I thought her parents should be proud of her, and that we want to send a message to all our young people that being part of a democracy involves argument, disagreements and debate, and we want you to be engaged and there’s a way to do it that doesn’t involve you being demeaned and insulted, particularly when you’re a private citizen.”

It’s nice that someone asked what he thought about liberal commentators saying similarly insulting things, but why no specific question about million dollar Obama donor, Bill Maher, who is notorious for his repulsive and brutally sexist smears of conservative women? As the ABC Fact-checker noted, “Obama super PAC donor, Bill Maher comes to mind”. Every reporter in that room probably had the Maher hypocrisy in his mind, but neglected to bother the President about it. Media malpractice, given the fact that Maher’s donation is recent big news, and Maher has a long history of extreme incivility on the air.

According to Newsbusters,

■ On March 18, 2011, Maher, on his HBO show Real Time, employed a crude term for a female body part when talking about Sarah Palin: “Sarah Palin finally heard what happened in Japan, and she’s demanding that we invade Tsunami. I mean, she says, ‘These Tsunamians will not get away with this.’ Oh speaking of dumb twats….”

■ A week later, on his March 25 show, Maher insulted Palin and Michele Bachman as “bimbos.” Talking about the GOP field, Maher argued: “If Bachmann and Palin get in, that’s two bimbos, and then there’s Mitt Romney, a millionaire, and Newt Gingrich, a professor. We just need a skipper and a buddy – we’ve got Gilligan’s Island.”■ Two days after that, on March 28, Maher employed the C-word in talking about Palin during a show in Dallas. According to a favorable review in the Dallas Voice: “It’s that fearlessness — he acknowledged that some people would probably be uncomfortable with some of his remarks about religion, not to mention calling Sarah Palin a ‘cunt’ (‘there’s just no other word for her’) — that makes Maher the most dangerous person in comedy.”But none of this prompted any of the scolding that has greeted Limbaugh’s transgression. In fact, in the days and months that followed, CNN and MSNBC cheerfully included Maher a dozen times as a guest in their line-up. Only Chuck Todd, filling for Chris Matthews on Hardball, brought up Maher’s vicious comments just one day after the day after his Dallas event: “Any regrets on what you said?”Maher, predictably, said he wasn’t sorry: “I’m not trying to hurt somebody’s feelings. But if you want me to say ‘I’m sorry, what I said was wrong,’ no, sorry, I can’t go there.”
Continue reading at Newsbusters for the full litany of Maher’s offenses over just the past year.
Last July, Bill Maher hosted what has been termed the most vile discussion about conservatives ever aired on national television. His guests were Marc Maron, Dan Savage, Mark Cuban, and Chrysyia Freeland – Obama’s wingmen: (Extreme content and language warning):

Don’t worry, according to the President, it’s OK to speak that way as long as it’s not about a private citizen, like the oh-so-private, reluctant, reproductive rights heroine, Sandra Fluke.

Weasel Zippers: Palin Calls On Obama To Return $1 Million Donation From “Rabid Misogynist” Bill Maher…

With Andrew Breitbart Leading the Charge – The Right-Wing Blogosphere Goes To War Against the Institutional Left

Alexa Shrugs reminds us of this affecting image of Breitbart from Ben Howe’s Tribute video, looking straight at the camera and simply saying, “War.”

Over the weekend, a funny thing happened in the right wing blogosphere. While at first, the faint-hearted were inclined to throw Rush under the bus for using over the top, inappropriate rhetoric to point out the absurdity of Sandra Fluke’s pathetic testimony before Congress. But over the weekend, the tide turned, and conservatives have gone to war, just as Breitbart would have liked it.

Alexa  is on the warpath:

This is war.  I am going to defend Limbaugh from the radical Leftists who want to take him off the air.  And I am going to call out our opponents by name.  Starting with Sandra Fluke, David Gregory and David Friend.

Sandra Fluke is a 30 year old woman who is president of Law Students for Reproductive Justice and went to Georgetown Law despite knowing that their insurance does not cover birth control – because they are a Catholic institution – and made it her mission to force them to change their policy.  Remember when I mentioned how feminazis lied and said a Congressional hearing on religious concerns about the Obamacare contraceptive mandate was only men?  They had wanted Sandra Fluke to testify – I guess Allison Dabbs Garrett and Dr. Laura Champion, the two women who DID testify at the “all-male” panel, just don’t count as women because they don’t toe the radical feminist line.

When Rush made his comments about Sandra Fluke, I thought he was going overboard in order to bring media attention to the farcical nature of her testimony. If that was his m/o, it backfired because the media firestorm that predictably ensued led to the DNC fund-raising off of it, and  Rush losing a number of sponsors. The Democrat Media Complex is doing what it does best – picking a (conservative) targeting it, freezing it, and doing its best to de-legitimize it. Never mind the fact that the left is so consistently  vile in its treatment of conservative women, it’s barely worth mentioning it when they call Sarah Palin, Michelle Malkin, or Laura Ingraham, and let’s not be sexist, here – even Rick Santorum – a vile name. Yes, thanks to the efforts of gay activist, Dan Savage, we’ve got a major candidate for President of the United States whose name, according to Google is defined in the most vile and depraved terms imaginable. And the MSM calls that “Santorum’s Google problem.” (yuk, yuk.) Because it’s HIS problem that left-wing activists have done this to him, and Google refuses to fix it.

Couldn’t it thus be said that Sandra Fluke has a “talk radio problem”. Because after all, it’s her own extreme views that led this to happen to her.

Ben Howe finds the excruciating double standard to be a bit much, and asks:  Carbonite Drops Ads from Rush Limbaugh but Not Ed Schultz?

You see, Carbonite is also the sponsor for a radio show you probably have not heard of, The Ed Schultz Show.  Ed Schultz made a similar remark to Rush’s although his was less a question about the usage of the word (as it was for Rush) and more him just screaming that Laura Ingraham is a “right wing slut.”

Now I wonder why Friend’s daughters don’t’ come to mind here?  Could this be a publicity stunt?  Could they just be dropping sponsorship of Rush in an effort to gain some exposure to help their company get new customers? Because let’s face it, they’ll get more exposure from dropping Rush then they’ll ever get from keeping Shultz.  And they could probably use it given that companies like DropBox have moved forward into advanced cloud backups and access while Carbonite seems hopelessly invested in remaining in the year 2006, but I digress.

I asked them on twitter and on FaceBook why the difference in treatment and so far haven’t gotten a reply.

In the twitter verse, fellow non-Carbonite user Amish Dude pointed me to one possible reason.

On the bright side, DaTechGuy believes the sponsors who have left Rush have chosen poorly:

Rush has been on the radio now since the late 80′s. People who were listening to him now have children who are listening to him. This is a vast and self-sustaining audience base and nothing he said or the media did will cause that base to abandon him. He will be drawing huge radio numbers long after Sandra fluke is a media footnote. There are many talk radio shows out there but there is only one Rush Limbaugh.

However for Sleep Number, Legal Zoom, Carbonate and pro-flowers and the rest, it’s a different story.

There are many alternatives to all of these companies and all of them are merely a click or two away.

For all the bluster of the left for all the tweets and facebook posts and MSM stories the real pressure these companies will feel is on their bottom line. It will come from the orders unplaced, the subscriptions unrenewed and the business that will flow to their competitors by Rush’s listeners looking for alternatives to the companies that dropped him.

These companies married the left in haste, they will repent at leisure, if they last that long.

Update: Both Legal Insurrection and Althouse blogged Rush, here is the key quote:acct with carbonite:

Dana Loesch chided Republicans for falling for the manufactured controversy:

The Obama administration withered for several weeks under the intense criticism from Catholic leaders regarding the forced violation of religious liberty within the HHS mandate. In an effort to turn the tables, Democrats suggested that the GOP want to abridge women’s rights because Republicans expect women to obtain and pay for their own birth control. This afternoon John BoehnerCarly Fiorina, and Rick Santorum bravely provided cover for the President and the ridiculous narrative of “the war on women.”

Each of them utterly failed in this response, but unlike Santorum, Boehner and Fiorina aren’t running a presidential campaign with the hopes of becoming the nominee so they can battle the media in the general.

This reason right here is why Republicans defeat themselves: It doesn’t matter what Barack Obama’s record is if Republicans so willingly allow the media to reframe a debate about religious liberty as a fight over women’s rights.

More have admonished Limbaugh’s description of Sandra Fluke than admonished a 30 year-old woman embarrassing herself before congress by testifying that she simply cannot stop getting it on and her inability to control her urges constitutes infringing upon everyone else for a bailout.

And now this interesting tidbit comes out about the young coed, via The Other McCain: Sandra Fluke Argued for Mandatory Coverage for Sex-Change Surgery

Rather belatedly, we are becoming aware that this supposedly typical Georgetown coed is not very typical at all:

[B]irth control is not all that Ms. Fluke believes private health insurance must cover. She also, apparently, believes that it is discrimination deserving of legal action if “gender reassignment” surgeries are not covered by employer provided health insurance. She makes these views clear in an article she co-edited with Karen Hu in the Georgetown Journal of Gender and the Law.
The title of the article . . . is “Employment Discrimination Against LGBTQ Persons” and was published in the Journal’s 2011 Annual Review.

Remember, as Byron York previously reported, Fluke was rejected as a last-minute substitute witness at a Feb. 16 committee hearing because staffers for Chairman Issa were unable to discover Fluke’s claim to expertise relevant to the subject of the hearing.

Yep, Carbonite chose poorly: Fire Andrea Mitchell reports Carbonite stock approaches 52-week low since dropping sponsorship of Rush Limbaugh show.

Rush’s funny take, yesterday, on Kim Jong il’s death. Funny because it’s true:
