see if they’ll connect you to the White House on another (unrelated) urgent matter.
It seems the President is giving a speech tomorrow morning at The Washington Islamic Center, or as Baron Bodissey, of The Gates Of Vienna calls it:
the most prominent Saudi-funded mosque in Washington DC. Not to mince words, it’s a Wahhabist mosque.
The Administration claims to want to shut down terrorist groups. The groups represented at the President’s speech include CAIR, MPAC, ISNA, etc., which are known cover groups and fronts for the architects and funding sources of the Muslim Brotherhood and related Islamic terror groups.
The Gates of Vienna would like to see the White House phones light up with suggestions like:
The President must state his firm commitment to shutting down these terror groups.
The President must make the point that Islam as it is practiced by many of these groups is not a religion, but a political ideology which seeks to dominate the rest of us by force.
The groups invited to and/or sponsoring this event must disavow Hamas, Hizbullah, etc. specifically and by name and not just utter generalized mealy-mouthed condemnations of “all kinds terrorism”.

I would very much like to see the Bush Administration start to take a harder line against the Muslim extremists within our own borders.
Dymphna at The Gates of Vienna was not pleased with the President’s speech. From her Sitting Here In The Wreckage, post:
Here’s the worst of several atrocities:
To underscore America’s respect for the Muslim faith here at home, I came to this Center six days after the 9/11 attacks to denounce incidents of prejudice against Muslim Americans. (Applause.) Today I am announcing a new initiative that will improve mutual understanding and cooperation between America and people in predominately Muslim countries.
I will appoint a special envoy to the Organization of the Islamic Conference. This is the first time a President has made such an appointment to the OIC. (Applause.) Our special envoy will listen to and learn from representatives from Muslim states and will share with them America’s views and values. This is an opportunity for Americans to demonstrate to Muslim communities our interest in respectful dialogue and continued friendship.
That presupposes that rational people are interested in respectful dialogue with theocratic tyrants. Get a grip, Mr. President, you have slid so far down the muddy slope of sloppy, mindless goodwill that we’ll have to winch you back up to reality; you’ll never make it under your own steam. And that would presume you even wanted to live in a reality-based environment, a presumption I no longer assume on your behalf.
