Wednesday’s Heroes: Sgt. John F. Thomas And Sgt. Ronnie L. Shelley

Sgt. John F. Thomas(Right) & Sgt. Ronnie L. Shelley, Sr.(Left)
33 & 34 years old from Valdosta, Georgia
2nd Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment, 48th Infantry Brigade, Georgia Army National Guard
July 24, 2005 & July 30, 2005

Sgt. Ronnie “Rod” Shelley and Sgt. John F. Thomas became best friends in the Georgia Army National Guard.

They both were ex-Marines, both about the same age, and both enjoyed searching for arrowheads and fishing together. As their friendship grew, Thomas often came over to Shelley’s house for steaks and ribs barbecued by his friend. And when their infantry unit was sent to Iraq in May of 2005, they went to war together.

When their unit was mobilized for combat duty in Iraq, Shelley promised to watch out for Thomas. “Ronnie said, ‘Don’t you worry, I’ll bring him back safely,”‘ said Thomas’ grandfather. But neither Sgt. Thomas or Sgt. Shelley made it back safely. Sgt. Thomas was killed July 24, 2005 by a roadside bomb near Baghdad. And Sgt. Shelley was killed six days later on July 30 by another roadside bomb, also near Baghdad.

Shelley was a family man, married with three children, who was obsessed with having a neat yard, his wife said. “The grass had to be two inches,” she said. “If the neighbor mowed the grass, Rod had to mow. He also wanted the biggest, baddest lawn mower.”

She said she fell in love with his “gorgeous blue … eyes,” and “he had a laid back attitude. I could not make him mad.”

Thomas was married but had no children. His grandparents said he dreamed of becoming a forest ranger. “John wanted to hike the Appalachian Trail. Now the only trail he can walk is the trail in heaven,” the grandfather said.

Mrs. Thomas, wiping back tears, said the soldier felt responsible for the others in his unit. “He cared for people,” she said. “That’s why he had so many friends. People cared for him.”

Killed alongside Sgt. Shelley were Staff Sgt. David R. Jones Sr., Sgt. 1st Class Victor A. Anderson and Sgt. Jonathon C. Haggin and killed alongside Sgt. Thomas were Army Spc. Jacques E. Brunson, Army Staff Sgt. Carl R. Fuller and Army Sgt. James O. Kinlow.

These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
We Should Not Only Mourn These Men And Women Who Died, We Should Also Thank God That Such People Lived

Flight 91 Memorial Blogburst #32

Mancow: “I’m gonna take a sledge-hammer to it” “You’ll go to jail for it?” “Absolutely”

Blogburst logo, petition

Radio talk show host Mancow Muller is asking his listeners to help SHUT DOWN the crescent memorial to Flight 93. (Audio 27 seconds.)

Mancow describes how the giant crescent points to Mecca, and how the four terrorists are consistently placed in the symbolic Islamic heavens (the crescent and star parts of the design), while the 40 heroes are consistently depicted as symbolically damned (placed outside of the symbolic Islamic heavens). Good stuff (1 min, 21 sec).

“You have to see it to understand…” says the pro-war libertarian host, directing his listeners to where they can find pictures like this (a familiar sight for our blogburst readers):

40 tortured souls, 60%

The Tower of Voices. 40 symbolic souls, literally dangling down below an Islamic shaped crescent, soaring in the sky overhead.

Using Islamic symbol shapes invites an Islamic interpretation, and in Islam, if you don’t go to heaven, you go to hell (the fate of ALL unbelievers). Forty symbolic souls, never to rest in peace, gonging for eternity in their symbolic Islamic damnation.

Mancow on civil disobedience

Congressman Tancredo was scheduled to come on Tuesday’s show, but got stuck in a hearing. Near the end of the show, Mancow says Tancredo will be rescheduled, then he lays it on the line. He thinks his show and his listeners have the power stop this atrocity from being built, but if the crescent memorial does get built, he is going to take a sledgehammer to it. They can send him to jail. At that point it won’t matter. There are limits to what Americans should stand by for (1 min, 21 sec).

Last week’s show was good too, with segments from Tom Burnett Sr. (45 sec) and Alec Rawls (2 min, 49 sec). (Alec also did an hour long interview with Tracy at No Compromise blog radio last week. To listen, scroll down to May 15th.)

Robert Spencer

An unexpected extra came in the middle of Tuesday’s show when Robert Spencer was on to talk about Islam. Mancow asked what Spencer thought about this memorial controversy and Robert stepped up with another piece of the expose, pointing out that the 9/11 date is to be placed on the center line of the giant crescent, in exactly the position of the star on an Islamic crescent and star flag. (43 seconds.)

Exactly right. The date goes to the star on the Islamic flag. The date goes to the terrorists. Graphical proof here (“Terrorist memorializing feature #1”.)

With the difficulty of getting just the Mecca orientation across, the discussion almost never reaches these other explosive details. How does Mr. Spencer find the time to be so knowledgeable about so many things? You da MAN Robert!

Pilgrimage to Somerset

When Mancow is able to reschedule the two Tom’s, Tom Burnett says he is going to urge listeners who want to visit the memorial to plan for the weekend of August 2nd, when the Memorial Project is scheduled to have its next public meeting. Then they can help protest the crescent design, and anyone can sign up to speak during the public comment period.

Maybe we can even get Mancow to make the pilgrimage, and if Congressman Tancredo will call for a Congressional investigation, we just might be able to ram the food cart through the cockpit door. Just do it baby. Let’s roll.

Why Obama’s Past Membership At TUCC Will Come Back To Haunt Him

The Obama/Wright controversy that threatened to destroy Obama’s White House bid back in March and April has gone into remission, but it will come back stronger in the fall. You can bank on it.

Here’s why: Nothing has been resolved, in fact more evidence keeps surfacing that Obama was heavily involved with this radical church, and that it would have been impossible for him not to know about its noxious brand of black liberation theology.

Past issues of the TUCC’s magazine, The Trumpet have been poured over now by enough curious journalists and bloggers, (with Obama on the cover of some issues) that the truth can not be hidden. And the truth is going to come back and bite Barack on his bony butt.

For instance, he claimed not to know anything about black liberation theology, until it became widely talked about when the Wright story broke. I don’t know how you go to a black liberation theology church for 15+ years and not know it. That’s like going to a gay bath house for 15+ years and saying, “oh…was that bath house gay? Who knew!” Who is he trying to kid?

He also has claimed that he was not in the church when “offensive remarks” were made. It’s frankly hard to disprove this one, but anyone with an IQ over 80 finds his intelligence insulted by such a claim. Again, are we all supposed to be *that* gullible? I understand that starry eyed, hard core cult followers will believe, (or excuse) anything their Messiah says. What about the rest of the population that isn’t batshit crazy?

Stanley Kurtz is one Journalist who’s been doing his homework; pouring through past issues of The Trumpet, and posting his findings in a long article at NRO:

It is clear Obama was aware of Wright’s views; indeed, the specifically political character of Wright’s liberation theology is what drew Obama to Christianity.

Further, a careful reading of the 2007 run of Trumpet Newsmagazine — a church newspaper (and later a slick, nationally distributed magazine) that Wright founded in 1982 to “preach a message of social justice to those who might not hear it in worship service” — suggests that Wright’s theology and politics have more in common with black-nationalist sources (both Christian and Muslim) than with those of conventional Christianity. In particular, Wright is closely allied with a radical and highly controversial Catholic priest named Michael Pfleger, and with Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan. While his specific ties (if any) to Farrakhan are unclear, Barack Obama appears to be very much a part of the broader Wright/Pfleger/Farrakhan theological-political nexus.

You have to read the entire piece to get the full impact of what a dishonest phony and fraud, Obama is.

The fact that this man is going to be the Democratic nominee for POTUS, continues to floor me.

Bad News For Pinkos

My GOD, this is about time!:

Finally, a member of Congress has announced a laudable plan to do something about the abusive behavior of demonstrators of the anti-war left. Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.), a member of the House Armed Services Committee, has introduced legislation to deal with what he has described as “a growing number of our fellow citizens [who] are abusing their right of free expression through vandalism and violent protest aimed at military recruiters and those who wish to serve.”

A prime example occurred in January, when leftist agitators gathered signatures on a petition demanding that the Berkeley, California, City Council shut down a local Marine Corps recruiting office. Playing to the radical “Code Pink” group that organized the protest, all but one of the City Council members voted to send a letter to the Marines, asking them to leave the city. The Council’s letter derided the Marines as “unwanted, unwelcome intruders.” The arrogant insult drew national attention and motivated hundreds of local counter-demonstrators, led by California talk show host Melanie Morgan and others who support the military.

The Berkeley City Council’s proclamation set aside a parking spot for Code Pink’s weekly demonstrations in front of the Marines’ office, which emboldened the anti-war demonstrators. Taking advantage of the favored treatment, they reportedly blocked entry to the Marine recruiting station and vandalized it. Similar incidents of harassment and property damage have occurred on college campuses and in cities nationwide. Last March, a bike-riding bomber hit a military recruitment center in New York’s Times Square.

Read more about it at The Tank.

This is excellent timing for such legislation. Let’s see how many Democrats are brave enough to vote against it during an election year.

Rep Arkin is a former Army officer with two sons in the military and one at the U.S. Naval Academy. God bless him.

Clint Eastwood: Make My Day, Hillary, Stay In The Race

Clint Eastwood may be a McCain supporter, but he has a soft spot for damsels in distress.

“Everybody’s trying to talk her into folding, but it doesn’t seem like the spirit of Americana,” Eastwood (a McCain supporter) told Politico before heading into the premiere of his drama, Changeling, starring Angelina Jolie, at Cannes Film Festival. “Put yourself in the place of (Clinton). You’ve gone out there and made a thousand speeches, and you’ve shaken a million hands and you’ve been out there working your ass off, and then somebody comes up and says, ‘Why don’t you just drop out of it?’”

Eastwood thinks she may still have a chance, “if Senator Barack Obama trips over himself again”.

Which of course means...She still has a chance.

“I watch Clinton and feel kind of sorry for her and wonder,” ‘What are all these people telling her to run away for?’” Eastwood said in his interview. “She’s showing her strength by hanging in there.”

For sure…she’s earned some grudging respect from many Republicans for her spunk.

But I still can’t help wondering if Eastwood is really a stealth agent for Operation Chaos.
