The Obama/Wright controversy that threatened to destroy Obama’s White House bid back in March and April has gone into remission, but it will come back stronger in the fall. You can bank on it.
Here’s why: Nothing has been resolved, in fact more evidence keeps surfacing that Obama was heavily involved with this radical church, and that it would have been impossible for him not to know about its noxious brand of black liberation theology.
Past issues of the TUCC’s magazine, The Trumpet have been poured over now by enough curious journalists and bloggers, (with Obama on the cover of some issues) that the truth can not be hidden. And the truth is going to come back and bite Barack on his bony butt.
For instance, he claimed not to know anything about black liberation theology, until it became widely talked about when the Wright story broke. I don’t know how you go to a black liberation theology church for 15+ years and not know it. That’s like going to a gay bath house for 15+ years and saying, “oh…was that bath house gay? Who knew!” Who is he trying to kid?
He also has claimed that he was not in the church when “offensive remarks” were made. It’s frankly hard to disprove this one, but anyone with an IQ over 80 finds his intelligence insulted by such a claim. Again, are we all supposed to be *that* gullible? I understand that starry eyed, hard core cult followers will believe, (or excuse) anything their Messiah says. What about the rest of the population that isn’t batshit crazy?
Stanley Kurtz is one Journalist who’s been doing his homework; pouring through past issues of The Trumpet, and posting his findings in a long article at NRO:
It is clear Obama was aware of Wright’s views; indeed, the specifically political character of Wright’s liberation theology is what drew Obama to Christianity.
Further, a careful reading of the 2007 run of Trumpet Newsmagazine — a church newspaper (and later a slick, nationally distributed magazine) that Wright founded in 1982 to “preach a message of social justice to those who might not hear it in worship service” — suggests that Wright’s theology and politics have more in common with black-nationalist sources (both Christian and Muslim) than with those of conventional Christianity. In particular, Wright is closely allied with a radical and highly controversial Catholic priest named Michael Pfleger, and with Nation of Islam head Louis Farrakhan. While his specific ties (if any) to Farrakhan are unclear, Barack Obama appears to be very much a part of the broader Wright/Pfleger/Farrakhan theological-political nexus.
You have to read the entire piece to get the full impact of what a dishonest phony and fraud, Obama is.
The fact that this man is going to be the Democratic nominee for POTUS, continues to floor me.
