Peta Spokesman: Jessica Simpson “Doesn’t Have A Right To Eat What She Wants”

And that is a direct quote. Don’t tell me that conservatives are the ones with the fascist impulses. It’s the far left with their constant attacks on everything Americans enjoy, and hold dear, who are the fascists.

Animal rights protesters have launched a series of angry campaigns against A-list carnivores. They are shifting their focus from celebrities who wear fur to others who encourage the “exploitation” of animals by eating them. In its latest campaign, Peta – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, which became infamous for dousing fur-wearers in red paint – has launched an attack on the singer Jessica Simpson.

Ms Simpson was singled out for ridicule after she was spotted wearing a T-shirt bearing the slogan “Real Girls Eat Meat”, believed to be a light-hearted dig at her boyfriend Tony Romo’s vegetarian ex-girlfriend, Carrie Underwood.

Now listen to this genius:

Alistair Currie, a spokesman for Peta, said: “Jessica Simpson might have a right to wear what she wants, but she doesn’t have a right to eat what she wants – eating meat is about suffering and death. Some people feel like they are standing up against a tide of political correctness when they make a statement like this – what she is really doing is standing up for the status quo.”

The animal rights group doctored a photo of Ms Simpson to read “Only Stupid Girls Eat Meat”, and listed “five reasons only stupid girls eat meat”.

Found here:

You know what? I have to beg to differ. Stupid isn’t enjoying nature’s bounty as God intended. Stupid is openly telling someone she doesn’t have a right to eat something she most explicitly does have a right to eat.

Kudos to Jessica Simpson for being a politically incorrect rarity in Hollywood. Kid’s got chutzpa.

  1. I have a deal for PETA.

They get the lions, tigers, and bears to stop eating meat, and I’ll stop eating meat.

I always thought these libs were pro-choice.

They are. As long as it’s THEIR choice.

  4. You know, I simultaneously hate and love animal rights extremists. I hate them because, as this post points out, they’re actually sanctimonious fascists just beneath the surface. I love them because it’s so easy to defy them–just go out and order the biggest, juiciest, meatiest sandwich you can find and imagine them somewhere, seething with impotent rage at the thought that you and other people like you are enjoying the product of murder…tasty, tasty murder.

I’d eat meat with you, Jessica. Any time. Anywhere.

  5. Peta listen to yourselves, she has a right to eat whatever the hell she wants just because you make the choice not too doesnt mean she has to. Now tell me exactly how not eating meat is saving an animal from pain and suffering? First off many people arnt vegetarian and you think the slaughter houses would not kill 1 more cow or whatever just because YOU decided Oh im not eating meat anymore. Yes, I agree it is a very cruel and disgusting process, but you cant live off eating protein shakes and nuts or whatever you guys eat to get protein. The body needs protein. It cannot function without it and sure as hell can not live without it. Jesus, when he roamed the Earth he gave fish and bread to his followers. Even he ate dead animal, and I am pretty sure it didnt die from natural causes. Oh and one more thing When they kill animals they dont give it a slow painful death they do it so there is very little suffering involved. You making your memebers be nutered without annesia is well I have to say it seems more painful

    So Thank You PETA

P.S. I think your next mission is to get wild animals to stop eating meat

  7. That’s a pretty poor argument. If we don’t care, then telling us we don’t care is pointless. You’re really counting on us caring enough to be shamed into accepting your point of view. So you actually believe that we do care.

You’re half right – we don’t want to see animals tortured. But PETA has gone far beyond protection of abused animals. And that’s why we mock them.

  8. So what you are saying in this article that the whole PETA thing is a liberal thing? That’s funny cause I know a lot of people who are liberal and eat meat and they think PETA is a fraud. I also know a lot of conservatives who send money to PETA. Nice try on the attack though.

Nice attempt at a retort, though.

    1. she can wear whatever she wants. its a free country. which also means vegans can have an opinion.
2.But just so all of you know, you sound very ignorant by harassing peta members and people who are vegetarian.
    3. many vegetarians actually do get enough protein without meat

  11. 1. Who said vegans aren’t entitled to their fascist opinions?

    2. Ignorance is telling someone in a free country that she doesn’t have a right to eat what she wants.

    3. I’m happy to know “many” vegans are staying healthy.

Just so you know, you sound very ignorant by conflating PETA members and vegetarians. We’re mocking PETA members, not vegetarians. Except for fascist vegetarians, of course.

    3. many vegetarians actually do get enough protein without meat

That can’t be true. There’s no such thing as “enough protein.”

  13. it is almost impossible to eat meat after watching one of the videos on PETA, which means that humans feel the horror and pain as they are seeing the truth behind their nice juicy steak. Can you eat your dog or cat? can you imagine your pet being skinned and turned inot a purse? The love and connection that we have for our pets should be an eye opener all by itself. A cow or sheep has the same feeling when being loved or fed. there is no amount of truth and awarness that can make us do the right thing, eating meat or any other cruilty. Igonorance is bliss. We look the other way and instead of focusing on what is happening, we attack PETA or argue that lions eat us, so there!
This world is falling apart as a direct result of people such as those commenting here. Animals are far more human than humans.

  15. Why so angry – so unhinged? It’s not called for.

    I happen to love animals.

I just happen to care more about myself and my children than I care about cows and chickens. And I do pat myself on the back for that.

  16. I think everyone’s getting their Undies in too much of a twist here…
I’m a Vegan (which means I don’t eat Meat, Dairy or any Animal By-Product)… And I seriously don’t give a crap about JS wearing this shirt, as it isn’t my life so therefore isn’t my place to scold her for her choices. Really, who cares?!
I give more of a shit about her blatant and childish Jealousy of her new squeezes Ex-Girlfriend… Not attractive!
