UPDATE (September 3): RNC Acceptance speech, here.
In case you weren’t able to see or hear it, yesterday:
(It was delivered without a teleprompter, by the way).
A huge storm passed through my area last night, and our electricity went out right in the middle of Barack Obama’s acceptance speech. I have to admit I wasn’t too broken up about missing the rest of his sour-noted CRAPfest; but I did want to read the blogs after it was over to see what other people thought. Oh well, I got to bed at a decent hour for a change.
I really expected that the electricity would be turned back on by the morning, but that wasn’t the case. Worse yet, my cell phone wasn’t charged, so I was totally unplugged, and I knew that McCain’s VP pick was imminent.
I was pretty sure it wasn’t going to be Palin. She had seemed to have been counted out. I was just hoping that it wouldn’t be Lieberman or Romney, nothing against either of those men, but neither were, in my opinion, what McCain needed on his ticket to win.
By 10:00 I was craving a caffeine fix, so I decided to make a run to the store with my five year old, pick up some groceries and hit the Starbucks bar. When I turned on the car radio, Laura Ingraham was talking about McCain’s exciting FEMALE VP pick, and still, I couldn’t believe it…Kay Bailey Hutchenson? Carly Fiorina? Within seconds, the news hit me, and I screamed so loud, my poor son asked me if something had frightened me.
Those bastards kept that secret well!
Here’s my original post about Sarah Palin from February 27, with lot’s of good Palin pix.

Political Ticker: Dems Say Palin Is ‘Risky’, Could Be A Disaster
The Politico: The McCain Camp Pushes Back:
It is pretty audacious for the Obama campaign to say that Governor Palin is not qualified to be Vice President. She has a record of accomplishment that Senator Obama simply cannot match. Governor Palin has spent her time in office shaking up government in Alaska and actually achieving results — whether it’s taking on corruption, passing ethics reform or stopping wasteful spending and the ‘bridge to nowhere.’ Senator Obama has spent his time in office running for president.
They are not going to win that argument.

UPDATE (August 30):
You’ll want to check out Meghan McCain’s behind the scenes photo’s from the Sarah Palin Rally.
Definitely check out Red State’s comparison of Palin and Obama’s resumes.
That needs to be a commercial.
As Obama, himself said, “I don’t intend to lose this election. “John MCain doesn’t know what he’s up against, right now”.
Even back In 1996, during Obama’s first race for office, as he sought a Chicago Senate seat, he used nasty, behind the scenes, hardball tactics to eliminate his Democratic competition:
As a community organizer, he had helped register thousands of voters. But when it came time to run for office, he employed Chicago rules to invalidate the voting petition signatures of three of his challengers.
The move denied each of them, including incumbent Alice Palmer, a longtime Chicago activist, a place on the ballot. It cleared the way for Obama to run unopposed on the Democratic ticket in a heavily Democrat district.
“That was Chicago politics,” said John Kass, a veteran Chicago Tribune columnist. “Knock out your opposition, challenge their petitions, destroy your enemy, right? It is how Barack Obama destroyed his enemies back in 1996 that conflicts with his message today. He may have gotten his start registering thousands of voters. But in that first race, he made sure voters had just one choice.”
Now as his opponents bring up uncomfortable truths about his past, what does he do? More nasty, behind the scenes, hardball: He writes threatening letters to TV stations, pressuring them not to run the ad, and writes to the DOJ demanding that a donor to the 527 group that produced the ad, be prosecuted.
The Obama camp calls NRO’s mild mannered Stanley Kurtz a “slimy character assassin”, stronger words than Obama ever had for Ayers.
The man is dangerous.
Staying true to his radical instincts, Obama declined to have a campaign rep. appear, but instructed his minions via email to besiege Milt Rosenberg’s radio program in Chicago, and try to discredit Kurtz.
WGN in Chicago has made a stream of the radio show available online, here.
I haven’t had time to listen to it yet, myself, but apparently even the seasoned 30 year radio Institution Rosenberg found what transpired stunning.
Michelle Malkin has more about this outrage at NRO:
The “Obama Action Wire” supplied Rosenberg’s call-in line and talking points like this:
Tell WGN that by providing Kurtz with airtime, they are legitimizing baseless attacks from a smear-merchant and lowering the standards of political discourse. . . . It is absolutely unacceptable that WGN would give a slimy character assassin like Kurtz time for his divisive, destructive ranting on our public airwaves.
Please download and listen to the podcast of that Kurtz interview. I’m not kidding…There are few people in public discourse more mild mannered and soft spoken than Mr. Kurtz.
These Obamabots are complete basket cases, are they not?
They seem to have missed the Urine bomb seen is this Zombietime photo
A 22-year-old man was arrested Monday after police spied him carrying a bottle full of feces:
Zachary Patrick Grey, a University of Massachusetts student from Marion, Mass., was arrested at 1:40 p.m. Monday after a foot chase, according to a Denver County Court complaint.
He was the first known person to be charged with possessing bodily waste during the Democratic convention, though the threat of its use has been rumored by police and protesters alike for weeks leading up to the event.
A police officer was in the process of arresting someone in the 1600 block of Champa Street on Monday afternoon when a police lieutenant spotted Grey holding a bottle of feces, the police report says.
Grey was “getting ready to throw the bottle at officers,” the report says.
Lest you get the wrong idea. The guy who was about to launch the shit bomb was all about peace:
The TV station quoted him as saying that he and others were peacefully demonstrating with signs against a two-party system.
He told the station he was surrounded and violently arrested by 20 bike cops who stretched his shirt.
“I did not deserve to be arrested because I’m here to organize community and take part in beautiful new world,” he was quoted as saying.
Pardon me for asking…but….what’s beautiful about a smashing a bottle of human feces at the cops?!
According to CBS 3 of Springfield, Mass., Grey belongs to a group called Pioneer Valley Food Not Bombs.
The guy was in possession of a shit bomb.
Damn….I hope the Republicans realize that the moonbats in Minneapolis are going to be out in greater force, with even more retard strength then this putrid bunch.

Some Denver pro-lifers are going for a world’s record for the largest protest sign, ever:
Local pro-life advocates in Denver have unfurled what they claim is the largest protest sign ever assembled and they are hoping to obtain a Guinness World Record as a result. The pro-life advocates made an official attempt to enter the record book with the pro-life sign showing the Democratic Party promotes abortion.
The pro-life activists spelled out the words “Destroys Unborn Children” in a 530-foot tall and 666-foot wide message using white and yellow bed sheets.
They initially spelled out the letters DNC, referring to the Democratic National Committee, in yellow sheet and then used white sheets to complete the three words pointing to its pro-abortion position ratified yesterday in its platform.
The sheets were placed on the side of a large hill that is part of the Rock Mountains west of Denver and, because of its massive size, can be seen from almost anywhere in Denver, which is hosing the Democratic convention.
The DNC prime time speakers are staying away from the subject of abortion, I’ve noticed. This sign is a nice little reminder of what the party really stands for.
What most people, of course found deplorable about Kerry, Obama’s longtime pal, Ayers describes as his “finest moment”:
At least Kerry had the decency to apologize, unlike Ayers.
