The fey, lefty girlieman channels Kruschev:
I’ve been making the case the last couple of weeks that we can’t just focus on winning in November, but that we have an imperative to take advantage of a historic opportunity to break the conservative movement’s backs and crush their spirits. In the White House, that means getting Obama a broad popular and geographic mandate for change. In the House, that means annihilating the Republican caucus and working toward a 100-seat Democratic majority. In the Senate it means getting to a 60-seat filibuster proof majority.
Republicans will claim that McCain wasn’t one of them, hence rationalizing away their loss. But if we decimate their ranks, including their conservative icons, it’ll make it harder for them to justify their spin. Remember, we want them broken, their ranks thinned, their treasury in heavy debt, their morale in the gutter, void of any leadership, discredited in the eyes of the public.
You can read the whole thing at AoSHQ if your stomach can stand it.
Ace’s conclusion can’t be stressed enough:
Check out the Rightblogs’ list of House challengers, donate to the RNC. And everyone vote. Straight ticket, unless you have a really good reason not to.
Would it be redundant to say, “I love this guy”!:
Hat tip: Jawa Report
Parker Griffith is in a tight race for Alabama’s 5th Congressional District against Republican Wayne Parker.
Speaking to the Colbert-Lauderdale Baptist Association, Democrat Parker Griffith was asked about the threat imposed by radical Islam.
Grifftih’s response was, “I think America’s greatest enemy is America and its materialism.” He went on to say “we have nothing to fear from radical Islam.” Parker Griffith is battling Republican Wayne Parker in the general election. The race is extremely close. Republican insiders think Wayne Parker might be able to flip Alabama 5 to the Republican column, making it one of the few bright spots this year for the House GOP.
OOPS. Not sure verbal diarrhea like that is gonna help his chances in a tight race.
Human Events has the audio.
Cuffy says, it’s over for Griffith.
That has to sting Scranton home-boy, Joe Biden:
The Scranton crowd Tuesday was larger than the one that greeted Clinton and Biden in the same venue Sunday.
The McCain-Palin campaign estimated Tuesday’s crowd at 5,800 and said it was based on a Secret Service door count, but the crowd appeared to be closer to 4,500 people. The smaller estimate, by The Times-Tribune, was based on the number of rows of risers, a typical row’s occupancy, and a per-person count of the depth and width of the standing audience.
As inclined as I am to believe what a reporter claims, “appears to be”, I’m going to go with the Secret Service’s actual head count on this one. I’ve seen how they can pack a house until it’s bursting at the seams.
Anyway, even with Obama (appearing to be) leading in the double digits in PA, I’m glad to see that the McCain campaign hasn’t thrown in the towel, and that more excitement (appears to be) trending in the direction of McCain/Palin.
Here’s a video of Todd and Sarah Palin at the Scranton rally, singing along with Lee Greenwood:
Those of you who think, Proud To be An American is one of the corniest, most overplayed Republican songs, ever…put it into context.

Palin surprised Walmart shoppers when she showed up with Trig, (and Security detail) on diaper run.
Obama and his ACORN thugs were out of control then, and they’re out of control now:
Maybe McCain should ask Obama how that $800,000 he gave the ACORN subsidiary during the Primaries, was spent. There’s a debate tonight. That would be a good time to mention it.
Sgt. Anton J. Hiett
25 years old from Mount Airy, North Carolina
391st Engineer Battalion, Army Reserve
March 12, 2006
Misty Hiett, the widow of Sgt. Anton Hiett, said in an interview that he, Sgt. Hiett, asked to transfer to the 391st Engineering Battalion when it looked like his reserve unit would not be deployed.
Sgt. Hiett was a truck driver who joined the military right out of high school because he “wanted to go help out” during the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. After his transfer to the 391st, he was deployed to Afghanistan on April 22, 2005.
On March 12, 2006, Sgt. Hiett, and three fellow soldiers from the 391st, Staff Sgt. Joe Ray; Spc. Joshua Hill and Sgt. Kevin Akins, were killed when an IED detonated near their Humvee during combat operations west of Asadabad, Afghanistan. He left behind his wife and their then 2(now 4)-year-old daughter Kyra.
These brave men and women sacrifice so much in their lives so that others may enjoy the freedoms we get to enjoy everyday. For that, I am proud to call them Hero.
