Hamas Legalizes Crucifixion

Isn’t that special? Just in time for Christmas, too:

Both Iran and its Hamas proxy in Gaza have been busy this Christmas week showing Christendom just what they think of it. But no one seemed to have noticed.

On Tuesday Hamas legislators marked the Christmas season by passing a Sharia criminal code for the Palestinian Authority. Among other things, the code legalizes crucifixion.

Even the Grinch, at his worst, wasn’t that bad. And Obama wants to negotiate with these people?

Is there any reason why a sane Gaza Christian wouldn’t want to just get the freak out of there, at this point? I realize that Gaza has a rich Christian history, but so do many other places that are no longer occupied by Christians, (for the reasons you suspect). When they bring back crucifixion…that’s when I say, “Hasta la vista, baby”.

Hamas’s endorsement of nailing enemies of Islam to crosses came at the same time as it renewed its jihad. Here too, Hamas wanted to make sure that Christians didn’t get neglected as its fighters launched missiles at Jewish day care centers and schools. So on Wednesday Hamas lobbed a mortar at Erez crossing point into Israel just as a group of Gazan Christians were standing on line waiting to travel to Bethlehem for Christmas.

What do you want to bet, many of the Gaza Christians who made it to Bethlehem, won’t be returning?

While Hamas joyously renewed its jihad against Jews and Christians, its overlords in Iran also basked in jihadist triumphalism. The source of Iran’s sense of ascendancy this week was Britain’s state-owned Channel 4 network’s decision to request that Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad give a special Christmas Day address to the British people. Ahmadinejad’s speech was supposed to be a response to Queen Elizabeth II’s traditional Christmas Day address to her subjects. That is, Channel 4 presented his message as a reasonable counterpoint to the Christmas greetings of the head of the Church of England.

Channel 4 justified its move by proclaiming that it was providing a public service. As a Channel 4 spokesman told the Jerusalem Post, “We’re offering [Ahmadinejad] the chance to speak for himself, which people in the West don’t often get the chance to see.”

Sickening. I’m still reeling from Britain’s state owned station  (encouraging?) this travesty. Since when does a simple Christmas message require an official response? The UK is becoming a nation of Dhimmis.

I wonder if, with Obama at our nation’s helm, we will too.

Hat tip: The Jawa Report, (taking solace in the fact that, currently, Hamas is getting their asses pounded heavily by the IDF – no time for crucifying at the moment).

Can anyone guess how America’s leading moonbats  are reacting to the Israeli bombing attacks on Hamas? Doug Ross and American Power waded through some thick sludge in the feverswamps of the leftwing blogosphere to discover that *surprise!* supporting  murderous, Jew hating, Islamofascist crucifixion enthusiasts is now the correct, “progressive” position.

Obama’s been rather quiet, thus far, on the Israeli attacks. I wonder if he’s been in touch with any of his 500 foreign advisers yet, to tell him what he should say.

I suspect the left is waiting with bated breath for Obama to condemn Israel for what they deem is ” another outrageously disproportionate response”. I further suspect that Obama agrees with that assessment, but is not sure it would be politically expedient to articulate that.

Unfortunately, the LA Times is still sitting on the videotape that would shed some light on Obama’s true feelings  about the situation.

Obama’s Churches

Barack Obama chose to hold a memorial service December 23 for his late grandmother Madelyn “Toot” Dunham at Honolulu’s First Unitarian Church, which harkens back to his leftist religious upbringing.

Andrew Walden of The American Thinker wrote a great piece reminding us of Obama’s journey from the lefty, mushy Unitarian agnosticism of his youth, to the  anti-white, and anti-American church of his Chicago community organizer days, to his current choice of the pro-life, and anti-gay marriage Pastor Rick Warren of Orange County’s Saddleback megachurch to lead the invocation at his inauguration.

What is First Unitarian Church?  Their website describes counter-recruitment efforts intended for “deconstructing the myth” … “used in propaganda for the military (as with ads for Marine recruitment).”Another set of clues come from the Honolulu Star-Bulletin February 8, 2003 description of First Unitarian’s 2003 golden anniversary celebration — complete with “Liberal Religion for 50 Years” T-shirts.  The Star-Bulletin explains:”The bumper stickers on cars outside the church gave an insight into its members’ beliefs: ‘No War.’ ‘If you want peace, work for justice.’ ‘An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.’
Activism for peace and human rights causes has characterized the congregation of the First Unitarian Church of Honolulu since it was organized 50 years ago. Members were instrumental in founding the League of Women Voters and activating a local branch of the American Civil Liberties Union. It offered sanctuary to servicemen who went AWOL to avoid being sent to Vietnam. It helped launch the Save Our Constitution effort to fight the constitutional amendment on same-sex marriages. And just recently, the church sponsored a Death with Dignity poll that collected a 72 percent response in favor of end-of-life legislation….

In Seattle, Obama’s grandparents attended “The little red church on the hill”

The Chicago Tribune mentions a description of the Dunham’s chosen church as “The Little Red Church on the Hill”.  According to its own website, East Shore Unitarian Church got that name because of, “Well-publicized debates and forums on such controversial subjects as the admission of ‘Red China’ to the United Nations….”  Mercer Island’s John Stenhouse, according to his 2000 obituary, once served as church president possibly contributing to the ‘red’ label.
The Dunhams moved to Honolulu in 1960 after Ann graduated and quickly became friends with leftists such as now-Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-HI) and Communist Party member Frank Marshall Davis.  Obama’s mother-to-be enrolled at the University of Hawaii and soon met Barack Obama Sr. in a Russian language class.  She would remain affiliated with the University for most of her life.

The December 24, 2008 Honolulu Star-Bulletin describes the memorial for Madelyn Dunham:

“Obama did not speak to reporters at the small home that had been converted into the First Unitarian Church in Nuuanu. Aides said Obama’s half sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, and her husband, Konrad Ng, also were present….”

Konrad Ng, a Chinese-Canadian, is an associate professor at UH.  Soetoro-Ng, who also lectures at UH, was born in Indonesia in 1970, and teaches at the exclusive La Pietra–Hawaii School for Girls, across the street and four decades out of synch from the same Kapiolani Park in which Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis described cruising for male and female sex partners in his 1968 book, “Sex Rebel: Black (memoirs of a gash gourmet)”. I sure hope Pastor Warren talks some sense into that man.
