Video: Dick Cheney and Obama’s National Security Speeches

Part One:

Part two:

Part Three:

Part Four:

Drew M at AoSHQ provides some commentary.

Hot Air catches a gaffe from Obama in the opening remarks from his national security speech:

When you’re distracted by the business of governing 57 states, gaffes are bound to happen:

Doggone you TOTUS!

Update via Michelle Malkin on Twitter:

Love how UPI cleans up Obama’s Gates gaffe for him. Presto change-o!

I was under the impression that the media was provided with those transcripts…

See Allahpundit for commentary on the rest of Obama’s speech: Obama: We must never compromise our cherished values, unless it’s really important

Robert Gibbs in the daily press briefing says he doesn’t understand Dick Cheney’s motivations.

Of course nobody had asked him about that:

I think I know Dick Cheney’s motivation, though. He’s sick of seeing the Bush administration hammered every day for the very policies that have kept us safe for seven years, and he’s speaking out because he loves his country and doesn’t want to see it run to the ground by Obama’s naive and reckless policies.

Something like that.

Michelle Bachmann And Bawney Fwank Duke It Out Over ACORN

The answer to Barney’s repeated query  – because they’re the stupid party?

That is seems to be the extent of Frank’s toothless argument…the Republican’s allowed millions of taxpayer dollars to be accessed by ACORN, so it must be okay.

But most Republicans were apparently unaware that they were granting vast sums of money to a corrupt group that was working to destroy capitalism, and with the GWOT, they were focused on other things.

Movie Magic: Nancy Pelosi vs The CIA

An exciting drama set to James Bond music:

Another one set to surfer music…featuring Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Abu Zubaydah and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri on water surfboards:

Newt Gingrich has called for Pelosi’s removal from the Speakership. So has Dick Morris.

Rep. Peter Hoekstra, in a conference call on Wednesday, told bloggers that House Republicans won’t press the issue until it becomes clear through the asked for CIA memos, emails, and briefing materials, that Pelosi is lying.

Blocking their release on the Congressional side is House Intelligence Committee Chairman,  Rep. Sylvester Reyes, who, for suspiciously dubious reasons opposes their declassification. One wonders if with House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s recent strong defense of Pelosi, after initially being lukewarm, some sort of fix is in.

The Republicans in Congress need to keep beating the drum.Dick Morris is right:

…either Leon Panetta, Obama’s head of the CIA, or Nancy Pelosi, his party’s Speaker of the House, has to go. No administration can tolerate a permanent, public civil war between two such high-ranking officials.

Especially when their disagreement stems not from issues of policy but from matters of veracity and credibility, the battle must end in one of their resignations. You cannot have the head of the nation’s first line of defense against terrorism calling the Speaker of the House a liar and being attacked by her in turn.

The President could put an end to this now, and demand that the  materials be released…if he wanted to.
