I managed to get to two area tea parties, today before we started on our way to our big 4th of July family food fest and blowout, (which I’m on the way to, right now). First up was the tea party on Stateline Rd, between Kansas and MO) No official headcount yet, but I would estimate that at least a couple thousand KC area residents showed up this morning to speak out against the out of control government spending, and daily outrages coming from the Obama administration.
As always, the signs displayed the heartfelt concerns of ordinary Americans:
Here’s a video of the event taken by some local patriots:
More pix from this tea party can be found at Uncle Sam’s Tavern
Part 2 to come, later.
UPDATE:
Part 2, here.
Kansas City Fox 4 News coverage of this tea party, with video, here.
Kansas Meadowlark’s video of the event, here.
See American Power and This Ain’t Hell for great round ups of the nationwide July 4th tea parties..
I loved the “Stuff Jefferson Said” poster.
That just cracked me up.

Thanks for this! I was there and didn’t even see these people…saw the patriotic Santa but not these…walked a couple of blocks myself. I saw an estimate of 300, but there had to be many more than that!

What a joke! Thousands in attendance? Looks like a couple hundred morons!

Watch the videos at the links. Yes there were thousands. I was there. You weren’t. I would have taken more picures of the crowd at this one, but my camera ran out of batteries.

Great bunch of photos!
Here is a 10 minute video with video and stills of both of the Tea Parties in Kansas City yesterday.
I’m the guy that made all that noise with the trumpet down on the plaza.
We had a great time with a bunch of great people!

I question bringing young children to these events. For example the little boy with the “Partners in Tyrany” poster. I wonder if a child that young even knows who half of the names are. I am not saying that some of the people on it are not tyrants. At the same time however, using a child who doesn’t know what hes doing there to push ones beliefs is a miserable thing for a parent to do.

These were family events, and there were plenty of children holding signs their parents made, and in many cases, yes, the children were too young to understand what was going on.
Of course the children that were there wanted to participate, so the fact that they were allowed to hold signs, I wouldn’t deem “miserable”. It’s just how it goes.

My 2 cents:
Remember, at this point, given all that the American people now know, non-violent informed Dissent IS Patriotic.
